What’s strange is I’ve just finished off the online shop we do one giant one and my sister queried no wine, none of the chocolate you like - and just knowing I don’t want that and realising how much less I’m eating now than when we went last year!!!!

one of those moments of realisation about how much MJ has changed for me!!!!

FlorenceNightshade · 23/10/2025 00:56

@MyScaredCat i had horrific shoulder pain after I had my gallbladder out!!! I found regular paracetamol and little hourly walks around the house helped with it!

@Gingercar gallbladder pain can be sneaky! Speaking as an Acute Surgical Nurse and a patient the pain can vary massively! For me it was never abdo pain it was always in the middle of my back kinda where your bra would fasten.

I’ve had patients report the classic right upper quadrant pain but often it’s more generalised. Vomiting after eating a greasy/fatty meal can be an indicator too in some people. It’s often a crampy/colicy pain and when it’s bad is genuinely worse than labour pains!!

@MyScaredCat - great to hear from you , welcome back ! The old gang is still around, as you can see.
Well done on maintaining/ self-regulating without MJ, 3lbs off in a week is brilliant . Sorry to hear you’re still in pain, albeit for a different reason .At least you know there’ll be an eventual and permanent end to it , now the grumbling gallbladder has gone .

@Seahorsesplendour - have a great holiday with your family, hope the weather is kind to you. How lovely to all be going back to a favourite childhood destination xx

SutekhsEars · 23/10/2025 18:46

After a month of feeling rubbish, I've decided I'm better now. I've injected today, and am going to get back on it tomorrow with water, protein etc. And some exercise! I've been shuffling round the house for weeks - I'm going to get out in the fresh air tomorrow.
Congratulations to those who have had birthdays, 💐to those in pain or ill, and well done to those losing, at target, or toughing it out without mj!

Apprenante · 23/10/2025 18:52

That's good news @SutekhsEars. Look after yourself.

Gingercar · 24/10/2025 09:51

Just realised I’ve forgotten to inject this week! I’m two days late.

ElsieJay · 24/10/2025 11:48

Glad you’re feeling better , @SutekhsEars.

Just back from WW , another 1.5lbs down.
Not fast , but have lost consistently every week which is important to me.
This week we heard about the importance of sleep in losing weight . A couple of interesting points - if we’re exposed to natural sunlight within two hours of waking , we sleep better .
Also, if we’re tired , our bodies are actually programmed to make us feel hungrier.
Certainly resonated with me .
I’m really enjoying the Friday workshops, gives me a kick up the backside to keep focussed over the weekend .

Onwards and downwards !

HereIGoOnceMore · 24/10/2025 14:34

So true ElsieJay, sleep has a big effect on ghrelin & leptin, meaning we feel more hungry and our appetites are harder to satisfy when we’re tired. Another reason why menopausal insomnia is such a bitch.

SutekhsEars · 24/10/2025 15:28

I had heard that about morning sunlight recently too, @ElsieJay . I'm going to try to do this as I'm a terrible sleeper, but it's tricky if you wake up at 4 and can't get back to sleep! I'm going to make sure I have at least a daily short walk. I've had a 20 minute walk today, as part of my recovery. Need a rest on the sofa now!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 24/10/2025 18:14

Nuts week at work. Increased dose, not much food and adrenaline have combined to result in a woosh. I'm now 4 stones lighter than I was on 11 May.
We had to pick up two emergency foster kittens last night, pretty bad situation. Poor little sausages. I shall try to get some pictures this evening if anyone would like some.

HereIGoOnceMore · 24/10/2025 18:15

Kittens you say?

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 24/10/2025 18:16

With the floof and the fuzz

DBatteryBand · 24/10/2025 18:24

Ohhhhhhh. Kittens! 😍

DBatteryBand · 24/10/2025 18:29

We are in a city for the weekend. (We are very much Country Mice, as a rule). I had a bit of a wobble in John Lewis. For years and years I haven't been able to try anything on in shops ( on the rare occasion I go shopping). I found it bizarrely overwhelming that I could now, as a size 16/18, try on just about everything. It was all a bit much. I ended up not buying anything.

FlorenceNightshade · 24/10/2025 19:03

@DidILeaveTheGasOn meow?

@DidILeaveTheGasOn - fantastic , four stone freer !
But more importantly - KITTENS !!!!!

Not more importantly , obviously - but - KITTENS !! 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

Apprenante · 24/10/2025 20:42

@DBatteryBand I'd call that a very good wobble!

Seahorsesplendour · 24/10/2025 20:57

@DBatteryBand i totally get that!!

I’ve had nothing new yet clothing wise!! Every time I start to look I freak out as have no real idea what size I am now!!!

im still wearing anything from 16- 22 / xl to 3xl and very mixed styles as spanning the years!!!

my dp is trying to buy me some clothes for Christmas but I’m not being at all helpful as to what I want as I just don’t know!!!

im hoping once I’m firmly in a smaller size I might suddenly embrace getting some new clothes!!!

altho they will never excite me as much as the though of kittens!!!!

@DidILeaveTheGasOn i think the consensus is yes please!!! We need photos!!!! 😍😅

Seahorsesplendour · 24/10/2025 20:58

Oh and I shared a child’s potion of fish & chips with ds when we arrived on holiday!! Jeepers I’m stuffed 😂🤣😂

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 24/10/2025 21:32

Very tiny balls of cute

Gingercar · 24/10/2025 23:26

Are you going to keep them?

PinkScot · 25/10/2025 07:26

Wee Poser for you as I have no one else to ask! Anyone else (as well as me) gone down in size by a lot but still can’t believe they are that size/ still feel bigger? I’m wearing a consistent size 14 from a 18-20, I’ve lost over 7 inches each off my waist and hips and 5 inches off my bust. But I still feel ‘big’ and every time I buy anything or try anything on I’m in shock that it fits. I wonder if that’s normal. I even thinking my holiday pics I didn’t look that different in them although objectively I know I must do. I had a few comments on the old socials saying you look good/great but no one accused me of losing weight ha ha maybe people are too polite. Well that’s my question for today 😊

PinkScot · 25/10/2025 07:27

Ps I am getting kitten broody now 😂😂

Foreveronaplane · 25/10/2025 07:55

@DidILeaveTheGasOn for 6 weeks, we've been hand rearing an abandoned kitten (she was. 2-3 weeks old) - originally meant to be a foster (DD is a vet med 3rd year) but Pumpkin is firmly part of the family. Our two dogs are slowly adjusting. There hasn’t been a dull moment! Two is brave!

Seahorsesplendour · 25/10/2025 09:43

Lovely to wake up to very cute Kitten pics!!!!! 😍😍😍

hope everyone has a good day!!!

@PinkScot yes I go through phases feeling just the same!!

I am still fat and it’s so easy to forget how far I’ve come!!

I find the most helpful thing is to redo my photos from my first order but now & compare them, it seems to really allow me to see the changes and be proud of what I’m doing!!!
