I just couldn’t do fasting. (especially with no suppression!). I love food too much. Plus I’m outside and active, I need regular fuel!

Gingercar · 12/10/2025 21:28

Omg is it only 20 weeks to Xmas?? I’ll be lucky to get a stone off by then at the snails pace I’m going! Might have to reassess.

bookedanappointment · 12/10/2025 22:30

Still patiently waiting for a new thread so I can have my usual username back and not this shitty one.
Hello you lovely lot of absolute losers. Have been lurking quietly.
I am feeling much improved now as time has gone on.
Goal achieved here. Last (mega - got a whopping 0.7ml out of the golden dose of the last 2.5mg pen!) dose taken last Thursday and happily sitting at 9 stone 2.
SW - 12 stone 4 BMI 31 (height 5’2”)
GW - 9 stone 4
CW - 9 stone 2 BMI 23
shitting it for the food noises returning. Hoping to keep up all the positive changes I have made to my diet and lifestyle and keep this weight. Especially as I can’t afford to change my entire fucking wardrobe again.
I’ll keep you posted!
love, Prawn x

Seahorsesplendour · 13/10/2025 06:52

@bookedanappointment aka prawn lovely to hear from you & congratulations on reaching goal!!!! That’s amazing & keep us posted with any tip for maintaining!!!!

@Gingercar so sorry to break this to you but it’s only 11 weeks until Christmas!!!

fasting works well for my weight loss the issue I’ve had with it in the past has been a kind of rebound hunger where I stuff myself once fast over but MJ seems to have managed that for me!!

I’m hoping that by changing things up my body will believe it’s at the beginning of weight loss again and do some serious fat shedding 🤣

time will tell!!

hope everyone’s week gets off to a good start!!

bookedanappointment · 13/10/2025 07:07

Thanks @Seahorsesplendour🥰

fasting works for me too. Helps to only have the calories of two meals a day I think!

ElsieJay · 13/10/2025 11:05

Congratulations, @bookedanappointment aka lovely Prawn 🦐!
And good to hear you’re feeling much better in yourself, with lots of positive lifestyle changes. We need to hear these success stories as we struggle on ….
@notgonnafail - exciting reunion with your other half, and great plans for 2026 !
Like you, @Seahorsesplendour , my protein and water intake have been declining since the change in the weather - also had a few carb-heavy meals during this past week and finding it difficult to get back to normal.

On a more positive note, I measured yesterday for the first time since early June - bust was unchanged , sadly , but 4 inches off my waist and another 4 inches off my hips.
Still wearing my size 16 trousers, though, which is weird !
Back to my usual Friday WW weigh in this week, so will report then .
Asda Direct contacted me this morning to ask if I’d moved to another supplier , as I haven’t placed an order since mid-September , when I ordered two pens to beat the price hike. Assume they didn’t realise that would cover me for eight weeks , hopefully longer if I dose 3.75 from the 5 pen……🙄
Is anyone else being “gently reminded” by their providers ?

Gingercar · 13/10/2025 11:33

Sorry that was a typo, I meant 10 weeks to Xmas, not 20!

I ordered a 3 pen bundle at the end of Aug from Chemist4U and they prompted me to reorder at the end of September! I think they must be auto prompts and don’t take bulk buys into account! I have six months worth of pens anyway, so hope not to be buying any more.

If you’re fasting/missing meals is it something you’re planning to do when you’ve finished MJ? Like for life, to maintain? Or is it just to get the weight off quickly and then you’ll change your eating habits? I just can’t imagine it. But I still have very little suppression. I’ve stumbled over a Facebook page where people seem to have massively fast weight losses (ie, 5 stone in 6 months) and a lot of them are only eating one meal a day.

SignedUpAgain · 13/10/2025 12:34

Love reading everyone’s posts and hearing about your experiences as I have no one in RL that can talk about it with.

my DH and a friend are the only people who know and they love talking about it and commenting (when they’ve had a drink). It’s tiring. They think they know everything cos they read the news. So if I say anything, like I’m hungry or didn’t lose anything this week, they’re suddenly the experts.

oh you’re eating too much, or that’s not how it works!

how the heck would they know!

i am a slow responder. Down just over 20kg since I started. if im totally honest i was hoping for something more spectacular like you read about, but only because this is so hard.

im on 7.5mg have food noise, craving something sweet, and luckily we have nothing in our house to eat or I’d be scoffing it.

this takes a lot of willpower.

NSV I found a pair of jeans in a bag I was sorting for charity. They’re brand new and a bit too big! But I’ll get a few weeks out of them.

Also in my last hole on my jeans belt!

notgonnafail · 13/10/2025 19:48

I can't remember who it was, but whoever said about Love Hearts - you are my hero!!

Seahorsesplendour · 13/10/2025 20:25

@Gingercar i’m trying the fasting but flipped round as normally eat at night then not till lunch if fasting I’m trying out various methods tbh in the hope I find something that really works that I can continue post MJ.

im hoping it kick starts my losses again tbh but not aiming for super fast loss!

had a hearty protein filled breakfast & lunch and a shake about 5 as was peckish and not hungry at all tonight! So far so good!!

I like all the health benefits that come with fasting & would love it to be part of my maintenance but think I’d probably aim for 4 days a week rather than every day.

glad I didn’t disillusion you re how long until Christmas!! 🤣

Gingercar · 14/10/2025 09:25

It’s my weigh day and I’ve lost 2lbs this week which finally gets me to the 3 stone off mark!🎉! This last stone has been hard work compared to the first two. Here’s hoping for another by Xmas/New Year.

Another 4 kilos to go to my next mini goal of a Labrador!

ElsieJay · 14/10/2025 10:21

Great news, @Gingercar ! - and giggling at your goal being a Labrador. 🤣🤣
Just saw on tv news the Alaskan Malamute puppy that now weighs in at 13 stone ….

Gingercar · 14/10/2025 11:03

13 stone puppy!!! 😯

HereIGoOnceMore · 14/10/2025 11:21

Well done@GingercarHalo

notgonnafail · 13/10/2025 19:48

I can't remember who it was, but whoever said about Love Hearts - you are my hero!!

Haha...twas me. You're welcome!

I've ordered a box of 24 packets from Amazon for me and a friend who's on Wegovy to share 😂😂

Gingercar · 14/10/2025 12:53

What’s the Love Hearts secret?

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 14/10/2025 13:01

I think they're good for heartburn?

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 14/10/2025 13:03

The size 16 coat I bought was too big. I think some of that is the style - it's a cocoon shape but it is far too big. What a weird experience.

I might have to go coat shopping in real life rather than online.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 14/10/2025 13:19

Wait, looking at pictures of coats online and they're meant to be too big? Fashion is not my strong suit. I've only just stopped wearing skinny jeans.

notgonnafail · 14/10/2025 13:19

@SussexLass87 I got hubby to bring me over 50 small packets! They really do work brilliantly!

@Gingercar as @DidILeaveTheGasOn said, they help with reflux/heartburn

tostaky · 14/10/2025 20:13

@DidILeaveTheGasOn i have a collection of skinny heans! My wardrobe is perfect for 10 years ago!!!

ive just sat down exhausted, turn on netflix, selected a new serie, got myself a drink and picked up a pack of hobnobs. Then put it down again because its too sweet and i dont fancy something that sweet… wow…. Unbelievable!!! Putting down a packet of biscuits when i am knackered… i ised to eat the house down whenerver i was tired… i feel im going to stay on this forever! This is too good!

Seahorsesplendour · 15/10/2025 05:49

Well done @Gingercar 🎉 that’s brilliant!!!!

@tostaky also congratulations for beating the hobnob habit!!!! 😆

both huge achievements!!!

im very grateful for the lose before Christmas challenge!!! Have suddenly clicked back into my early routines! Managing work outs regularly again enjoying protein again and can once again walk past chocolate !!

it’s only day 3 but I’m feeling very hopeful which is lovely after the last few weeks of doom & gloom!!! 🙈

DBatteryBand · 15/10/2025 07:16

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 14/10/2025 13:01

I think they're good for heartburn?

Refreshers are great for this, too. Not the newfangled chewy versions, the old fashioned chalky sweets. They are quite hard to get hold of near me, but when I do spot them I buy all I can carry!

Thanks for the kind words about my Trouser Incident. I have decided to return them anyway - they are that sort of flimsy, static-prone fabric that sticks to your legs as soon as you put a jumper on. I have noticed how much better quality my old trousers from the early 2000s are compared to the ones in the shops. No idea what mid-price clothes are being made of, but it’s not nice fabric, that’s for sure.

SutekhsEars · 15/10/2025 08:01

Morning all. Still feeling 🩲 here.
I've been losing and regaining the same kg for a few weeks, but think I can confidently say I'm a healthy BMI now - just! Time for a new mini target. I'd like eventually to get comfortably into the healthy range, but I think my original target of the mid-point might be too ambitious. I'll aim for 70kg (about 23 BMI) for now and see how it goes.

BerfyTigot · 15/10/2025 09:28

@SutekhsEars congratulations on reaching a healthy BMI! And to all those who have had success this week.

I weighed today and am down 0.3kg so basically half a pound.
Bit disappointed but it's in the right direction. Think I just have to recognise that post menopause, I just don't lose the way I used to.
