@kbr22 I always take my jab with alcohol. Interpret that as you may. But, I don't think you'll have any problems.

I think the support here is stopping the wheels from coming off. Thank you for being such lovely, supportive folks.
@hkg Comfort skincare here too! IIt's providing something of a distraction. This is a huge interest of mine so please pm me if you want lots of chatter about serums et al.

I don't know if it's because this is the murkiest, sludgiest autumn I've experienced for a long time, but ugh this sucks. I usually love this time of year. A little frost, crunchy leaves, the mist of evaporating morning dew, the colours. Instead, this shite.

I dunno. Feels like I'm missing something. I'd probably be feeling like that anyway, but masking it with food. I might have to do something midlife crisesy like a 10k or something when my leg is fixed. Ghastly business.

Gingercar · 10/10/2025 23:09

I actually think that 8mg golden dose might just be having an effect. I am burping slightly yukky burps (sulphur?) and feeling a tiny bit queasy, despite not having done anything different. This week could be interesting! I wonder if I might experience some suppression too for the first time.

HKG · 10/10/2025 23:10

@DidILeaveTheGasOn i get this, this is my favourite time of year too but it’s like someone has turned the colour down a little or the sound down or something.

Think when your leg is better a mid life 10k sounds perfect. I might join you! I turn 47 next week and on week four of C25k again.

this board is definitely stopping the wheels coming off for me too. I check in every night before bed to keep my head in the right place!

Weird to congratulate the burps but yay and fingers crossed for suppression for you!

@Kbr22 I neck ginger and fennel tea, or spearmint, chamomile and apple. They help a bit but not much and only while I'm drinking them! Had some lovely ginger jelly things that helped but can't get hold of them at the moment! Hopefully things will settle down again soon as I'd been doing okay until I upped my dose a bit more than I usually do!

notgonnafail · 11/10/2025 07:45

Think I meant to tag @HKG !

SutekhsEars · 11/10/2025 08:16

Morning all!

Slightly up this morning, but after the virus affecting my appetite that's okay. I took advantage of delaying my jab for a few days and had a Chinese takeaway last night. It's a year since I last had one, so I don't feel bad about it!

What's everyone planning for the weekend? I have some homework for my evening class and I want to tidy the shed while it's dry. Exciting times!

notgonnafail · 11/10/2025 09:37

Picking hubby up from the airport today as he's visiting for a week! Got to make the most of it as might not see him (in person) again until the new year, when we will (hopefully) be moving him over here (at last!)

Will do a bit of shopping in the big shops of the big city (Limoges) to get the bits I can't get locally and then we have our flu and covid jabs this afternoon. All excitement here!!

tostaky · 11/10/2025 09:42

Oops forgot to jab this morning so im going to push it until tomorrow am.
ive done my bootcamp class already this am, now i have a request for fish and chips (DS2) and another request (DS3) for “cannelés” (french cakes) so baking/cooking this am. And lots to do for uni this weekend.
Tomorrow there is a “quince and medlar” day in my local park, i might go and pick up some free fruits (I am SO middle-aged, it is cringe! 😅)

Gingercar · 11/10/2025 10:48

That should say working all weekend

DBatteryBand · 11/10/2025 12:26

Halfway there, too, and feeling the strain like everyone else. Bought a pair of size 16 trousers today and was really excited. Told the woman on the till, 'I haven't bought trousers this size since I was 25!' She,asked how I'd lost the weight, so I replied honestly, as I always do, 'Dieting and injections.'

She immediately pulled a face and said, 'Aren't you worried what it's doing to your body?'

I am usually the world's most polite, people-pleasing person, but I felt suddenly furious (menopause rage?!) and just snapped, 'No. I was more worried about what being eight stone overweight was doing to my body.' Took my purchase and walked off.

It took the shine off my joy at buying smaller clothes, and now I feel bad that she must think I'm terribly rude.

notgonnafail · 11/10/2025 13:11

@DBatteryBand You were definitely not rude, given what she said.

Congratulations on your purchase of size 16s, and stuff the silly woman.

HereIGoOnceMore · 11/10/2025 13:15

Good comeback @DBatteryBand I can never think of anything cutting enough in the moment.

And enjoy your new trousers.

ElsieJay · 11/10/2025 18:04

Brilliant response, @DBatteryBand !
She was the rude one, not you .

Seahorsesplendour · 11/10/2025 20:53

@DBatteryBand in awe of your response!!! Well done and don’t let a judgmental woman who knows nothing of you steal your joy at buying a size 16!!!!

that’s amazing and still a size I can only dream of!!!

wierdly I’m currently 2 stone heavier than my lightest adult weight which I hit just before my 30th bday so 18 years ago!

then at 12st I was an easy size 14 currently at 13st12 I am an 18.

I guess I’ve just changed shape but I was hoping for a 16by now!!

another one being stopped from just giving up by this thread … thank you, you awsome folk 💕

Kbr22 · 11/10/2025 21:41

Thanks for your messages of support. Did my jab this morning, I have put a little on this week, serves me right for going out drinking!! Only 0.2kg so happy with that, and yes I had a hang over this morning. @Gingercar your cafe looks so much fun. @DBatteryBand just ignore the comments, wearing a 16 must be wonderful, I have now got into a 14 and feel over the moon. We are all going in the right direction, and I am so grateful for all the support on here, it really helps even when I fall of the weight loss wagon, and maybe another wagon occasionally !!

tostaky · 12/10/2025 08:36

I have a bag of jeans/trousers which are too small for me. I probably started with around 15-ish pairs. I am slowly working through it now! This morning i found 3 pairs that fitted me really well. Which means i can retire this awful superskinny pair of jeans i have been wearing for the past two months. One of the three pairs that fitted me me is a leather-like, rather sexy number which i have never worn… I am going into town for a show with a girlfriend in november and i think this will be spot on! Cant wait!
ive also found that some of my wool trousers for work also fit me!!! Super exciting
Even if i feel the loss is slow (today jab day 2 days late - STS) trying on clothes is the best feeling and proof that my figure is changing. I have really upped my exercise and although the fat is still hiding all my muscles, i do feel stronger and my figure is somehow “fitter”.
cant wait to lose the remaining 2.5 stones (16kg)!!!
Also one of my ring which i had to enlarge a few years ago is now too big for my finger!!!

tostaky · 12/10/2025 08:43

The last time i was this weight was in Jan 2018! I feel like im getting younger 😅
Though i did try on an old Kookai dress…. It just about fitted, but theres no way i can pull off that look nowadays! Time to let go of my younger self

Gingercar · 12/10/2025 10:36

Morning all. Happy Sunday. It’s going to be one of those gorgeous autumn days you were talking about.

tostaky · 12/10/2025 11:58

What a beautiful view!
The London sky is very grey…

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 12/10/2025 14:29

Love reading about all the trousers! Bunch of skinny minnies. @DBatteryBand Your response to the sales person was a beaut, please don't feel bad, it was awesome.
@Gingercar Loving that picture. Gorgeous day yesterday at a family do, blue skies and sunshine all day. I wore a lovely size 16 (did someone say size 16? Woooo!) dress that was very fitted at the waist, with a big poofy skirt. Loved it. Felt amazing! Dress prevented me from eating very much but it was worth it!
Drove home today through plumes of eerie mist, low clouds and miles and miles of fog, which is still hanging around now. The field next door is dotted with lots of sheep seemingly lying on a bed of clouds.

I'm considering setting myself a firm goal of hitting 178lbs by Christmas, so 12lbs off in 10.5 weeks . This would place me in the overweight category, which would be absolutely marvellous.
However, to do this I'd have to really engage and give more of a shit about salads and whatnot. And also be prepared for standard weightloss bullshit of doing All The Things but being metaphorically flicked in the forehead by the scales and then having a woosh.

Does anyone want to join me?

Gingercar · 12/10/2025 16:41

lm just about to hit three stones off this week, hopefully. I’d like another stone off by Xmas. So I’ll join in.

Yes our view is wonderful on a day like this. Reminds me why we stick it out for all the sideways rain and snow!

Seahorsesplendour · 12/10/2025 20:02

@DidILeaveTheGasOn & @Gingercar im with you!!!

I am definitely fighting through a set point & was just discussing tactics for getting passed it!

I think I’m switching what I do with evening meal we always end up eating late which then just sits heavily & im tired then & more likely to have a ‘treat’ after it ! I then try & fast in the morning but this has been difficult lately due to nausea on 10mg but need the dose for everything else!!

nausea stops once I’ve eaten!

so I’m going to have breakfast, aim to have lunch at the later side & fast through the evening.

I'm also going to refocus on water & protein as that’s definitely taken a nose dive this last few weeks!

I would love to aim for 2st more gone for Christmas as this would take me back to my lightest adult weight & leave me with just 2stone to go!!

but I think it’s not realistic at this point & I don’t want to set myself to fail so I’m going to aim for 20lb by Christmas.

shotsy informs me I’m averaging 2.4lb a week overall so 20lb inn10 weeks should be doable !

I know I shouldn’t try for fast but I’m getting into debt for this darn drug now and won’t be able to do that indefinitely but I cannot stop at the half way mark!!!!

we’ll that was an epically long post sorry guys 😂 not done one of them for a while!!! 🙈

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 12/10/2025 20:07

Don't apologise @Seahorsesplendour, I love your posts!

I've been struggling with evening meals as well - mornings are getting much easier but then if I eat late in the evening, I just feel crap. We're trying to eat by 7pm, but ideally I'd like to eat earlier and then go out for a long walk. I'm considering doing this as I haven't dislocated my knee for a couple of weeks now - as long as I am careful, I think I should be okay. Hopefully.
