I’ve got a 7.5 pen but taking 6. I might need to think about other options. Where do you get extra needles from @notgonnafail ?

SutekhsEars · 04/10/2025 08:58

I would think about reducing dosage.
ETA: I'm still only on 3.75 - my philosophy is to take the lowest dose that works for me.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 04/10/2025 09:13

@DBatteryBand It seems we have the dubious honour of experiencing the same week! Hurray? Sad fist bump? I've gone from a UTI to an ear infection and have been eating and drinking what I fancy all week. I alluded to a muffin yesterday but it's much more than a muffin - multiple takeaways and bottles of wine.
Thank you guys for the encouragement to weigh and move forward. I've put on 2lbs which is fine, in my head it had mushroomed into 10lbs or more. Phew.

I really need some decent sleep and for no part of my body to be infected.

notgonnafail · 04/10/2025 09:27

We have a lot of poorly folk around! Hope everyone feels better soon. Have been having a torrid week with all my health conditions flaring at once myself, so sending gentle hugs and hoping we all feel a bit more human again soon.

@DidILeaveTheGasOn glad the weightgain wasn't as bad as your imagination had built it up to! Getting on the scales really is the only way to banish the crazy ramblings. And sometimes, life happens and takeaways, wine, biscuits or whatever are needed just to get through. Be kind to yourself, you were dealing with a lot and it has been a crazy time for you anyway.

HKG · 04/10/2025 10:30

And @DidILeaveTheGasOn someone on here gave me great advice after I have v gained a couple of lbs on holiday to religiously drink the 3 litres of water daily and up the protein and those lbs were gone in days. Probably work in this case too? Some of those two lb of yours will be water from the extra salt in the food. You’re doing amazing, no topsy week can take that away from you!

Apprenante · 04/10/2025 10:40

Sending caring thoughts to all those experiencing problems with health and side effects. There seems to be a lot of good advice from people who've been through similar issues.

My only real issue has been thinning hair. As a result of this I didn't need to visit the hairdresser for 3 months and so saved the cost of one visit - about £75 - so I'm seeing this as a benefit. I normally have unreasonably thick hair so at the moment I'm not taking any action!

tostaky · 04/10/2025 10:50

@VashtaNerada i also split the dose to avoid SE. At the moment i take 2mg every 5 days, it works for me, it is less of a rollercoaster as the level of MJ in me doesn’t peak so much and doesnt get too low either. It is a lot more mild. Give it a go, if thats doesnt work you can always go back to your schedule.

good luck to everyone not feeling well

tostaky · 04/10/2025 11:15

I have bought one month of “methreesixty” app it scans your body and gives you lots of measurements. anyone else?
I dont have a fancy scale and i want my weight loss to be the opportunity to get a strong body too. In may i was averaging 1 or 2 workouts a month. I am now averaging 2 or 3 workouts a week. It is a massive improvement and i want to keep it up. I am hoping this app will help me see how my body composition changes

ElsieJay · 04/10/2025 11:21

@DidILeaveTheGasOn - so glad your gain wasn’t as much as you’d feared !
Hope you’re feeling much better very soon, no wonder you had a minor blip with how poorly you’ve been this week.
@SutekhsEars - agree with you about taking the lowest effective dose. I haven’t yet increased from 2.5 and the suppression is still good up until Day 6. I need to use a bit more willpower then, but figure it’s good practice for the future!

I hear you, @DidILeaveTheGasOn. Fed up of waking up at 3am with a sore ear and not being able to go back to sleep. Still, at least I'm finding the time to read through the novels on the Booker Prize shortlist. Silver linings...

I weighed myself this morning and have somehow lost 1lb, despite eating about 15 tonnes of biscuits. I lay in bed beforehand worrying that I must have put on at least four pounds, so I'm pleased with the 1lb, though I strongly suspect those biscuits are messing with me and the weight will show up in next week's weigh in. Damn you, custard creams, damn your eyes!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 04/10/2025 13:03

I can't eat biscuits, they make me feel queasy because of mj. I can watch an entire episode of Bake Off and not fancy a single thing they've baked. It's extraordinary. I wish I could go off wine, every time I have a bottle that's 700 calories! Grr.

Gingercar · 04/10/2025 13:23

I wish I could go off anything! Sometimes I wonder why I’m spending all this money when I have no suppression and am constantly relying on willpower! I’ve been really craving food/snacks lately, even when I’ve recently eaten. And I never feel full. It must do something, and I’m sticking to my plan more than I ever have, but I’m not finding it easy.

ElsieJay · 04/10/2025 15:34

Hope everyone is fine and Storm Amy not wreaking too much havoc wherever you are.
We’d planned visiting the Autumn Fayre in our nearest town, but it’s been cancelled due to the weather, so have busied myself making a big pan of vegetable soup this afternoon.

Nothing exotic, only store cupboard ingredients, but tasty and satisfying.

SignedUpAgain · 04/10/2025 18:51

Enjoy reading everyone’s updates. I’m a slow responder so it’s kinda frustrating.

20kg off since I started. But still slightly over 100kg.

ita a tool and it’s helping but definitely not the easy fix non users seem to think.

That doesn’t sound like a particularly slow loss since May. That’s about three stones.
But I agree, it’s not the easy fix the media like to portray it as.

PinkScot · 04/10/2025 22:32

@VashtaNerada gosh sounds a bit rough. I’m on 7.5 and been on it 3 whole months now. I feel a bit sticky towards the end of jab day, then feel a bit ropey on days 2 and 3, usually tired and off food generally but I try to eat little meals three times a day. Days 4 and 5 I’m ok but can manage to stick to my calories easily, days 6 and 7 I get hungrier but still full quicker than I would be off Mounjaro. 7.5 has worked well for me but sometimes the tiredness gets really tiring! I’m still losing between 1 to 2 pounds a week and I’m 9 pounds to goal now.
You sound like your dose is a tiny bit strong for you but wearing off still at the end of the week? There’s other things you could try, injecting at bedtime instead of in the morning can lessen side effects, and changing injection site, thigh gives apparently less potent effects in the first couple of days rather than tummy, which I do. I stuck with tummy but tried the thigh once and it did lessen the effects of the first two days, but I felt like that’s when I was losing the most….so I went back to tummy. Sorry for the ramble hope this helps.

VashtaNerada · 04/10/2025 22:57

Thanks @PinkScot although I inject in my thigh in the evening! 😁 I’m now thinking of trying 3mg twice a week next week rather than six in one go.

notgonnafail · 05/10/2025 07:59

Hope that helps @VashtaNerada it made a real difference for me. Best of luck and keeping all bendy bits crossed you have fewer SEs this week xxx

Seahorsesplendour · 05/10/2025 08:32

I think that sounds like a good plan @VashtaNerada !! Hope it helps! All credit it to you I’m not sure I’d have still been here if I’d reacted like you, it sounds miserable!!

On the whole it’s my food noise is that increases on day 5&6 appetite suppression lessens slightly too but is still very much in evidence!

I’ve been luck & has very minimal side effects so far! Interested to read about people feeling these can increase as more weight is lost (think it might have been on. The over 5st to loose thread) and a lesser dose works more. Interesting to see if I get this , I’m hoping I do as will help financially!!

currently 10mg is def the most effective dose yet for me and I’m not feeling the need to increase yet, very vague nausea on day 2 & 3 , after 6 weeks on it. (Every other dose has stopped being as effective on week 5!)

hope everyone having a good weekend?

I had an Indian takeaway last night for first time since on MJ and boy did I pay for it in the night!! Wicked heart burn!!!! Not really counting this as side effects of jab - more of the poor food choice 🙈🤣

hope everyone has a good day!!

HereIGoOnceMore · 05/10/2025 10:53

Welcome to my pity party. I’m still here, and have stayed the same for the 3rd week. There I was, thinking I was getting close to my goal, satisfied with my slow, but steady progress and promising myself a session with a stylist to try some new clothes, but no… my body is fighting back.

Not only have I not lost weight, but I’ve been cold & hungry, so I’m really struggling, having found it relatively easy to eat well until now. At least I can now tell the difference between food noise & hunger, and this is definitely hunger. I’d been planning to start maintenance, but am now wobbling over whether to increase my dose or whether to power through and see if increasing protein helps.

Although I’m sorry to hear of other people’s struggles, it is at least reassuring to know I’m not alone. This might be an easier journey, but it’s no walk in the park.

Congratulations to people with hard won successes too. We deserve our plaudits. I wonder how much weight our team has lost in total?

ElsieJay · 05/10/2025 11:26

That must be so disheartening, @HereIGoOnceMore . What dose are you taking at the moment?
Agree that WLIs aren’t the “magic bullet” the press and some social media would have you believe.

@HKG thanks for the reminder! I’m currently in a stall but my water & protein consumption have both dropped recently (I think now it’s cooler weather I’m leaning towards more coffee & tea & less water. And less chicken salad & more jacket pot etc….)

going to start back to basics tomorrow with water and protein, and see whether I can get the scales moving down again 👍🏼

VashtaNerada · 05/10/2025 15:13

@HereIGoOnceMore I’ve always found that when I lose weight, I can have about a month of staying the same for no real reason. And then it suddenly starts moving again and I have no idea why! It happened to me over August although my diet hadn’t particularly changed from the months previous to that.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 05/10/2025 19:16

Mentally feel like I've totally detached from this process. Being hungry when it's cold and stormy outside is miserable. I can't increase my deficit through exercise due to my knee.

I don't know what to do. Wait for my dieting mojo to return from wherever it has fucked off to? Increase the dose? Take a break til April?!
