@HKG Things I find helpful .... accumulated from reading almost all the WLI threads ...
Ideas for quickly prepared lunches

Hearing about people's NSVs

Hints on using vinted (buying and selling)

All the non-approved ways people are managing their medication (at your own risk!)

How you've dealt with intrusive questions

New clothes or old clothes rediscovered!

Which pharmacies give good service

I'll think of others ...

TreesOfGreen99 · 24/09/2025 22:34

I’m still here but haven’t posted for a few weeks. I will be here for quite some time as I’m definitely a plodder, 11kg since the end of May, and still working out the ideal dose that gives me suppression without making me feel like I don’t want to eat at all.

Last month’s shock price increases followed by multiple buying and stockpiling of pens by so many people left me feeling that the sale and distribution of MJ should be better regulated. I know that’s not a popular opinion so I kept quiet and didn’t post. I understand why people felt they should do it, but it’s not for me.

HKG · 25/09/2025 00:10

@Apprenante this I can do!

today’s NSV: I wore my ‘shapewear’ to the office today, all day and before I started mj by lunchtime it was binding and I’d barely make it home before it was painful but today, it wasn’t even uncomfortable! All day! So pleasing.

i haven’t had any intrusive questions though. Today I’ve have two people come up to me and ask me if it’s okay to comment on how I look - I don’t work in the charity sector though so most people are super considerate.

Another NSV, last week I managed to deadlift my own body weight for the first time ever. It was always a goal but with how heavy I was it seemed impossible but it seems I’ve caught up with myself in a weird way!

dc82 · 25/09/2025 07:10

Heya! Still here too. I still read everyday when I can but it’s often late on. I like checking in to see how everyone is doing and getting on. I’m titrating and trying to adjust to the return of more food noise and increased hunger - I’m definitely eating more. Totally up for joining in a challenge 😁

FlorenceNightshade · 25/09/2025 07:54

Maybe something like this could work as a challenge? Obviously couldn’t do them all in a weekend but could a goal to do some or even all of them over a few weeks/months? First to call house gets a virtual medal!?

@hkg @Seahorsesplendour @dc82 what do you think? Tried to tag everyone who said they’d like a challenge!

Ive included a NSV pic too because we should all be celebrating them as much as possible!

@FlorenceNightshade i did not have just an apple the whole day! That was just when i was at work. I had a breakfast (with added collagen - which my son keeps reminding me collagne is protein so its like a protein powder) and a nice large portion of veggie chili with all the trimmings (guac, cheese, soured cream and doritos). I dont feel too guilty about the apple for lunch, i know it is not enough but its unusual for me to have so little, i wasnt hungry thanks to MJ and i want to boost my weight loss before i start my new job.
since ive been on MJ i have not “actively” tried to lose weight. So this apple, although incidental, feels like a more active attempt.
Thanks for checking in with me though, i think it shows care 😊

@HKG well done on all the NSVs!

Have a good day all

HKG · 25/09/2025 08:12

@FlorenceNightshade yes! Love it - totally up for weight loss bingo! Do you try to get a line or is it you need to hit them all (sorry, non bingo player here).

It is a sts for me this week. Trying not to be despondent about it or to think too much about how much it costs for one jab. So imma gonna list some positives:

  • Still 33.4lbs down in total
  • Still in the 190s
  • still lost 15% of body weight
  • Still over half way to (first) goal
  • and another ‘skin recovery’ week has got to be a good thing?!?
HKG · 25/09/2025 08:14

@tostaky thats chilli sounds AMAZING!

notgonnafail · 25/09/2025 08:47

Am just starting pen 4 this week (have been very slowly titrating upwards, splitting dose in 2 over the week and still not at 5mg in a week yet!) so did a weigh-in.

Like some others, my progress is glacially slow, but I am not 'dieting', and instead am trying to follow the guidelines from Dr Cooper on the Fat Science podcast to try and fix my metabolism. But losses are happening!

Pen 1 -5.6kg/12.4lbs
Pen 2 -0.6kg/1.4lbs (few too many magnums over the summer!)
Pen 3 -1.5kg/3.3lbs

So, to date am down 7.7kg/16.9lbs and down 2.8 BMI points. Had briefly made it below BMI of 40, but back up after a weekend of cake and wine with my sister, but as the trend is going down with each pen I am not going to stress about having a nice time!

FlorenceNightshade · 25/09/2025 09:18

Glad to hear it @tostaky i was worried!!! No way could I go a whole day on an apple!

I think @hkg just set yourself your own target and call house when you complete it? Never played bingo either so maybe that’s totally the wrong approach but we are all different and what’s a challenge for one person might not be for the next so that feels fair?

I’ve been away on hols, so a bit quiet for the last ten days, going again in two weeks as well! Lost one pound on holiday which is amazing to me, but was so happy and excited about that I acccidentally ate two ‘baked apple fritters’ when I got home. I made them for my DH but he moaned about having to eat them all (ungrateful bugger!) now I seem to have put my one pound back on. Moral of the story, no baking for me and DH can feed himself whatever he wants 😂. I do think though I have learned that it was a trigger for me, maybe because I always baked when I was stressed and then of course ate most of the baking! I think my destressing activities need to be non baking ha ha.
I love this group so please all keep posting all your stories and silliness, it keeps me going. I’m 38 pounds down and ten pounds to go to target now. I’m really looking forward to next hols abroad, I’ve bought loads of new underwear and a few new pieces in size 14 wooooo.

SutekhsEars · 25/09/2025 12:40

Can someone double check my maths please?
I wanted 3.75mg from a 5mg pen. I used 25 clicks, then topped up with 0.2 with a syringe.
I think that's right but I'm feeling mild SE today, so just want to be sure.
Thanks all.

maths looks fine to me.

5*(25/60) =2.0833
5/3=1.667 (0.2 is 1/3 of a 5mg dose)
added together is 3.75mg

FlorenceNightshade · 25/09/2025 13:19

Weekly check in time for me today.

So administered jab 20 today! Can’t believe I’ve been doing this for 19 weeks where has the time gone????

SW 92.9kg BMI 30
GW 75 kg met
New GW 67.4 kg

CW 69.2kg BMI 22.3
Loss this week 0.7kg

Total Loss 23.7kg, 52lbs or over 3 stone with 26% of body weight gone- more than a quarter?!?!

Ive stuck with 3.75mg should have at least 2 more doses out my current 5mg pen then planning to titrate down to 1.25mg every few weeks, I have two pens left to use with a third as an emergency back up incase coming off goes wrong!

Im loving how much healthier I feel, walking faster and further, running feels easier (when i can be bothered!) and of course buying and fitting into size 10 clothes is a novelty that I don’t think will ever wear off!

Ive not drastically changed my meals just the amount, the biggest change is no snacking or just having a small amount of something as a treat! I’m hoping I can keep that up as I feel my exercise routine is good.

Im planning to join the gym next month when it gets too dark and wet to run safely outside, I do this sometimes join for the bad weather and cancel in spring! Maybe this year I’ll keep it up and try some classes or something different.

As always loving hearing how everyone is finding their way through all the changes MJ brings. Proud of us all for sticking with it for all these weeks, we must all be so different ow from the women who started!

Onwards and downwards ✌️

I think I need to sort through my clothes again. Annoyingly, I bought a pair of Hobbs trousers for a meeting in June. I've worn them twice and they're far too big for me now.

GeraniumRoseblush · 25/09/2025 18:49

I'm also still lurking and still reading but haven't posted for ages as my losses are so slow. I've also joined the Plodders Club thread as it seems well suited for my glacial weightloss speed! 😁

I'm 2lbs off a "healthy" BMI but don't expect to see that for at least 2 months, ho hum. Onwards and downwards 👊

Seahorsesplendour · 25/09/2025 20:19

@FlorenceNightshade great idea I’m def up for weight loss bingo!!

Gingercar · 25/09/2025 21:11

So, it looks like a few of us are quieter because the weight loss is plateauing a bit, or slowing down.
I’ve felt a bit frustrated at the way it’s slowed down a bit. But I’m determined to look on the positive. It’s still going in the right direction, and I’m a few lbs off 3 stones in four months, so I really shouldn’t be grumbling. And I’m seeing and feeling a different. I’ve started doing a second dog walk because my older dog is really slow now. So I take the other dog for a faster walk later. Tonight I ran for a minute to see if I could, and I was fine. So perhaps I need to start my couch to 5k sooner rather than later. And I’m wondering about starting swimming again- I’ve been too ashamed to wear a swimming costume in public for a few years (which is a shame because I love swimming). Also wondering about doing an odd class. Do any of you do any classes that you’d recommend? I was going perhaps Pilates or something? My other question is what would I wear? What do larger people wear to a class? I’m only just in a size 16, I wouldn’t want anything too tight! I’d also need a new swimming costume. Any ideas for where to get a nice one?
id be happy to know what classes etc people do. It might be a new way to keep each other on track/inspired…

BerfyTigot · 25/09/2025 22:26

@ElsieJay thanks for prodding me to post 😄
I'm just busy and haven't lost for a few weeks which is disheartening.

I got sick of having diarrhoea so am now experimenting with microdosing 0.5mg every other day. I get a very small effect from it, but it has reduced my inflammation considerably so is worth continuing for now.

I'm hoping to eventually get up to a dose for weight loss.

tostaky · 25/09/2025 22:36

@Gingercar i do a hot yoga class every week . I find the heat is helpful and it makes me more flexible. I wear 3/4 lycra leggings and a sports bra…
i also try to go to a bootcamp session in the park every Saturday mornings. I enjoy being outdoor.

tostaky · 26/09/2025 08:21

I keep forgetting to jab! So instead of 2mg every 4 days, i have been doing 2mg every 5 days which is the equivalent of 2.8mg every 7 days when i wanted to increase to 3mg.
however suppression is good, which is why i forget about it i think so i may keep it this way to make the pen last longer…
i have an extremely busy day ahead of me 😰 getting off my phone now!

SussexLass87 · 26/09/2025 09:59

Another week of staying the same here...ho hum. Definitely getting fatigue of watching everything & worrying about the money side of things. With the price increases it feels even more pressured in many ways.

Not helped by DH just losing 2kgs each week without even trying...why do men seem to lose weight more easily?! (Light hearted...he's so lovely and supportive...but also...GRRRRR!)

ElsieJay · 26/09/2025 10:47

@BerfyTigot - great to hear from you ! I’m glad the microdosing is beneficial for you , and that the diarrhoea issue is resolved. Weight loss on the back burner, prioritise feeling well for now.

Some good NSVs, even if the losses are not as dramatic as in our early days. Hopefully the jabs will help us through the disappointing plateaux, when in the past we might have thrown in the towel.
I’m just back from WW ( lost 2lbs,which I was happy with) and the class numbers were much reduced this week. Maybe it’s the time of year, a sort of Autumn apathy that creeps up on us unawares !

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 26/09/2025 13:22

Love hearing from everybody. I think a challenge is a great idea, either a group one or we set personal targets? I don't tend to get much exercise on the weekend at the moment and I need to be sensible in how much walking I do, but could do with a target and accountability.

Weigh-in day:

SW: 240
CW: 190
GW: 140

I'm officially halfway to target. Quite happy with this, but a little disconcerted by how my bottom half is determined to stay a size 18. You'd think dropping 50 pounds would take me down a dress size. It's bizarre.
