Thank you! Does anyone have any thoughts on the price rises? I’m just hitting maintenance territory thankfully but I’m still on 10mg. I think I’ll go down the doses and maybe do it every other week instead of weekly. I had intended to stay on it indefinitely as I’ve found it to be life changing but I’ll have to see about the cost.

CountingSleepySheep · 17/08/2025 09:37

Thanks for the new thread, just checking in. SW 98.8kg, CW 64.8kg, 5ft5. Will probably be coming off MJ due to the price rises. Thankfully I have been in the healthy bmi range for a few months now and slowly losing while upping calories and exercise but I was hoping to get to 60kg (bmi 21/22) before coming off. I ordered a new pen last week when I got my usual reminder and I'm not due another pen before the price increases. Feels very much like the rug has been pulled out from under me but at least I have had a year and hopefully have changed my eating habits and lifestyle enough to go it alone. Fingers crossed for everyone.

sylv165 · 17/08/2025 11:00

It is definitely unsettling. I’m similar to @CountingSleepySheepin that I’m more or less at goal and am focusing on exercise and thinking about how to maintain. I was planning on coming off MJ at some point but had in my head 6 months to a year to make sure good habits have really embedded. That timeframe will definitely be reduced now.

I’m delighted I started when I did, but just feel really sorry for people today who are in the position I was in a year ago. It has changed my life, I feel like a totally different person and would recommend MJ to anyone who has been trying unsuccessfully to lose weight. It’s just such a shame that far fewer people will be able to benefit from it now.

Thanks @HumBumBum I'd noticed the other thread was getting close to full (or does it just feel full earlier?) mounjaro joke Grin

@bluewhitebluewhite I'm back on 2.5mg and currently stretching out the doses to 8/9/10 days to see how I manage my appetite. The challenge with injecting every 2 weeks is that you're going to go way beyond the recommended 30 days for an 'open' pen. Unless (for example) you bought a 2.5mg pen and took a double dose every fortnight... My personal plan (and my prescriber supports this approach) is to move to one month on one month off (at 2.5mg). For me, that gives me a real chance to test my non-MJ body and my appetite control, and how well I'm sticking to the lessons of smaller portions and no snacking. But, with the safety net of 4 weeks of MJ if I need a reset.

@CountingSleepySheep @sylv165 I agree. I feel so fortunate that I make the leap of faith when I did (also at a time when no-one in my friendship group knew about MJ, so there were no pointed questions about how I was losing weight). I do feel 💔for anyone who has already started, who is feeling the benefit and who now worries about continuing. MJ has also been life-changing for me, blood pressure under control, pre-diabetes vanished, I feel strong and active and mobile. I'm 64 and I can run for a bus!

HumBumBum · 18/08/2025 08:58

Hi all, forgot to do my weigh-in this morning but still going, have around 2 stone still to go so really hoping my orders go through as only have enough to early September (I delayed my ordering as didn’t want it to arrive in searing heat, my supplier is a bit inconsistent with its ice-blocks!)

I had intended to stay on for another year to maintain, but I don’t think that’s possible now, will try to get enough to last until Christmas and then maybe can afford one at new prices in 2026 and a rapid taper off.

SybillaB · 18/08/2025 18:14

I’m a slow loser so having taken almost 12 months to lose nearly 3 stone (3/4 lb to go!) I was hoping to lose another 3 stone using Mounjaro over the next 12 months to take me to 10 stone. If I’m priced out which seems likely then I hope that my food intake habits are now ingrained. We shall see.

RickertyRocker · 20/08/2025 09:55

Reporting in, thanks for the new thread.

Is anyone switching to Wegovy?

sylv165 · 21/08/2025 18:47

Don’t know what has got into me. I can’t stop eating!! I was away at the weekend and didn’t have time to do a proper shop so have been relying on freezer food a bit too much, I wonder if that has had an impact on my appetite. Whatever the cause, it is not good!

sylv165 · 21/08/2025 18:50

@RickertyRockerI don’t think I am going to switch, only as a very last resort. I generally get on well with MJ and don’t want to risk moving to something else that might give me side effects. I have a couple of pens in the fridge, plus managed to order one this week before prices increase so hopefully will only need to buy one or two at the higher price before coming off. I’ve also stayed at lower doses so the price increase shouldn’t be as big for me as it is at the top end

RickertyRocker · 21/08/2025 19:40

Thanks @sylv165

Where did you get your pens from? I am very late to to the news about price hikes. I am waiting for one new pen.

I would prefer a supplier that does not need to contact my GP.

HumBumBum · 21/08/2025 20:24

I just got some new ones from The Family Chemist, I’m fairly sure they haven’t notified GP (but they do ask for details).

definitely not switching, but might try and order a couple more next week to get the old price in.

I get mine from Oushk @RickertyRocker . I actually have no idea if they contact my GP or not. I do tick a box to give them permission, but I've no idea if they actually do it!

twilightcafe · 22/08/2025 10:46

Reporting in for the first time (gulp). I'm getting Mounjaro from Boots, as I can collect from the chemist on my way home from work.
Eeek - this is real. Just waiting for a text message that my package is ready for collection.

7Purpleheartsarmy · 22/08/2025 13:46

Has anyone not yet reached goal (still another 2-3 stone off) but dropped from 10mg to 5mg? i took 5mg last night after being on 10 for a couple of months and not being able to order a 10 so trying to stretch out what i have in the fridge 😬 my tummy is not happy today been on the tiolet qiute a bit!!

20bloodypounds · 22/08/2025 16:31

@7Purpleheartsarmy is your dodgy tummy because you ate more / differently? Are you not feeling as much suppression on the 5mg? Or maybe on 10mg you were a bit constipated and now less so?

Hi @twilightcafethis is a thread for those who started🥭 last year, it sounds like you might need a September 2025 thread? We‘re happy to answer questions (as old timers!), but you‘ll get more support from people starting around the same time as you.

Ah - thank you! I shall shuffle over to the Sept 2025 thread.

RickertyRocker · 23/08/2025 14:42

I think I'm going to take my last bonus dose next week then have a break.

I do not want my GP to be notified. I use a longer duration than 7 days. I think. Anew prescriber may want me to start again at a lower dose. I might as well wait a month or two.

In the meantime, I will go back to fasting. I still have 2 stones to lose.

7Purpleheartsarmy · 24/08/2025 11:09

well my tummy has improved! im so scared of the food noise returning on 5mg so far its ok but this is only week one back down on it,i just dont think i can afford to stay on 10mg or go higher.
i have lost 6 stone but am still just in the 14 bracket so ideally i still want to lose another 2 stone (im 5.5 but dont want to get skinny!) wish me luck im ok with staying where i am if thats what happens i havent been this weight since i was 21 😬
sw 20.11
cw 14.11

HumBumBum · 25/08/2025 14:50

ive heard of people who have dropped down a dose taking a jab every 5 days, if the noise gets too much for you @7Purpleheartsarmymight be worth a try.

Re telling the GP, I don’t think my supplier has, and now I’ve come so far I really would love to be in a normal BMI when I tell them (or close to). Currently at 28ish. Hoping by the end of the year. Just managed to squeeze in an order for one more pen at the old cost. Once I’ve finished I’m going to have to go on maintenance, no matter where I get (2.5mg pens seem affordable in September).

Hello 👋

I'm still monj-ing, its nice to see people from our group still going. We're 12 months in now, what a commitment!

I've made a concerted effort in the last 6 weeks to lose, after losing DH I was erratic at taking my dose and consequently really slowed down. I cry all the time about him, DS is amazing and I couldn't keep pushing forward without him.

I've lost 6 stone now! I'm a big poo away from being in the 12 stone bracket. A good friend said that I seem happy in myself and much more confident, I'm really enjoying buying clothes in the charity shops. Its soooo much easier when your not looking for size 22 and 24! I've even got a size 12 jumper in my wardrobe that is snug but wearable.

Itisallgoingtobeok · 25/08/2025 19:17

Hi all! Well done on everyone’s continued success! I poured myself into a pair of size 14 jeans on Saturday and felt bloody fabulous! I’m 4.5 stone down now, just another stone to go and I’ll be a healthy BMI again. I feel as though my zest for life has come back.

The one problem I have is that I’ve gone up to 7.5mg. This is the third week and it’s destroyed my appetite. A few bites and I’m stuffed like I’ve eaten a massive meal. I don’t even really like the taste of food now and I’m constantly thirsty. I know I need to eat, as I start to feel really wobbly at times. Has anyone else had this? Next week I plan to drop the dose to 6mg and see how that goes. All advice welcomed!

HumBumBum · 25/08/2025 22:18

Good to see you back/still going @SpottyBumPony(im a name change in case you were wondering!), I am also a little bit obsessed with one big poo 😆
