I’m on day 5… starting weight 19.8 and 5’4. Feeling good this week and so surprised with the suppression! Been lucky to have no negative side effects.

I think this is the scariest bit now @ILoveLeopard245. We have actually achieved what we set out to, and I am also terrified of putting it all back on once I stop. I flit back and forth between wanting to stop once my current stash is used up, and wanting to stay on it for another year or so to give myself more time to adjust. A good problem to have I guess!!

I've been having these thoughts too have decided to mini dose from my high dose pens for now. Not sure what will happen when that runs out though. Wegovy might be an option if they will let me have it then.

HumBumBum · 27/09/2025 07:27

Im not at maintenance level yet but it’s constantly on my mind about how to handle it. I kind of think the low doses I can afford once I’ve used up my stash - I always wanted to go another year with a maintenance plan to cement the habits.

Hi @songbird3086this is a thread for Those of us who’ve been on it a year, you‘ll find more support if you find the September 2025 starters thread - best of luck!

Weighing in another lb down. Just below the goal I never thought I would reach! Thinking about life after MJ, I think I have definitely kicked the midweek wine habit, and have established a reasonable exercise routine. Still need to work on choosing healthy but filling meals, especially at lunchtime so I can keep my appetite at bay once I eventually come off.

HumBumBum · 02/10/2025 08:20

Well done @sylv165 i managed another 1lb this week, I feel like September kick-started the losses again, with a total 6.5lb loss. If I can just keep that rate up until the end of the year I can do it (16lbs to target/running out of MJ - whichever happens first 🫣)

20bloodypounds · 05/10/2025 12:36

I seem to be maintining OK on 2.5mg - despite holiday and several meals out. I just need to get an exercise regime sorted out.

SybillaB · 07/10/2025 11:03

I have a 12 on my scales so have now lost 47lb. I really can’t remember the last time I saw 12 stone anything. I had my last jab on Saturday so we shall see if all my Mounjaro habits are now built in, I do hope so as I still need to lose more weight.
Has anyone else stopped jabbing or moved to Wegovy?

20bloodypounds · 07/10/2025 22:44

What a great achievement @SybillaB I'm still on 2.5mg and maintaining well, and keeping going with good habits with eating, and smaller portion sizes. I sometimes feel a bit hungry but I am learning to accept that and to know that a proper meal will arrive soon and that I don't need to give into the panic that made me want to eat previously.

HumBumBum · 08/10/2025 08:13

Glad you are still going @SybillaBplease let us know how it feels to stop or if you switch to Wegovy. I’ve got 15lbs to normal BMI, I’m hoping I have enough stock to get me there and then taper back down to 2.5mg for a while.

I often wonder how much we have lost collectively since last September. Even if peole haven't reached their goals, we must have done a lot to lighten our collective load.

HumBumBum · 09/10/2025 07:40

That would be interesting @20bloodypoundsI‘m up to 80lbs now. We‘ve probably collectively lost a few double decker buses!

SpottyBumPony · 09/10/2025 08:29

Hello! Im still gong too. 10kg to go to my goal which is to be a healthy bmi, I've lost 43.2kg. Which is completely mad as I struggled carrying a 20kg bag of horse feed from the car the other day and thought that I used to have 2 of them attached to me as standard AND then carry a sack of feed.

I'm going to move to Wegovy on the next pen as its a third of the price of Mounjaro. Im forever grateful to the MJ though. Long Live the Monj

ILoveLeopard245 · 09/10/2025 13:22

I’m now at 9st4lb and I think I am happy here. I had a starting weight of about 16st 10ish so I feel really like a different person. Still in mj and need to work out a maintenance plan.

SpottyBumPony · 11/10/2025 09:51

So this is a random weightloss one ... does anybody else feel more hairy now?

I feel like I have the same amount of hair but my follicles aren't being spread over so much skin so I seem hairier

HumBumBum · 11/10/2025 11:54

Makes sense @SpottyBumPony but I haven’t noticed it myself (although did spend some time zapping at my legs with a laser thing a few years ago so that might have worked a bit)

Opposite problem here, where I think I am losing hair. I thought I even saw a bald patch, but nowthere are short hairs growing there...? And I also think that I have seaonally lost hair every year, but I notice it and worry about it now because of MJ.

RickertyRocker · 17/10/2025 18:02

Checking in.

I had a month off and have restarted. Things are still very slow but they are moving.

We done to everyone at goal.

I am determined to be within a normal weight range.

sylv165 · 18/10/2025 08:24

How are you finding it @RickertyRocker? I think month on month off is how I am going to approach maintenance as I like the idea of getting used to hunger without totally going it alone.

RickertyRocker · 18/10/2025 10:26

I wasn't allowed to stay at a the higher level by my prescriber.

I didn't lose anything the first month, 2.5mg did nothing. I have started week 5 on 5mg and I feel suppression and less food noise. I will stay on this dose as long as possible.

I ma a slow loser and this was the same pattern for me as when I first started. I've never had a big loss over a week, regardless of dose.

EBoo80 · 19/10/2025 10:04

Morning all, nice to hear continued updates. I’ve been pondering whether to do another pen (which would be a sort of 2 months off, 1 on 2.5 pattern) but am still maintaining fine in healthy BMI. The pen would be to get a little lower, and also because I really do enjoy the mental clarity and sense of control I feel on MJ. And the lovely dopamine hit of dropping on the scales instead of maintaining… As I write I realise that’s silly and I should use the money for some other self-care.

simb · 21/10/2025 20:35

Hello everyone!
Advice needed...

I stopped mj as wanted to see how I could get on going it alone. This is still my ultimate aim, however life happened and a few horrid major events mean that my head was just not in the right place for weighing, measuring and calorie counting to continue losing weight alone. I was hoping I could at least maintain but that isn't the case and I'm slowly putting weight back on.

At my lowest on mj I was 9 stone 6 which was bmi just about 25. This was around 8 weeks ago. I'm now back up to 10 stone.

So I've come to the conclusion that I need to start back. I'm assuming that I would need to start back on 2.5? Does anyone have experience of this and is my prescriber likely to let me back on?

simb · 21/10/2025 20:37

To add to the above my aim now is to get well within the healthy bmi range (to around 9 stone).

My starting weight was 12 stone 5

EBoo80 · 22/10/2025 22:42

Hi @simb - I was told to go back to 2.5 (had tapered down although was never above 5).
however I was delighted to find 2.5 was super effective for me after tapering - so it was similar results to what I had had on 5 before stopping. Hope that helps.

20bloodypounds · 22/10/2025 23:05

@simb several prescribers will allow you back on (even at a lower BMI). Who were you with? Other prescribers might take you on too, if you have evidence of your previous prescriptions. But well done you for realising that your weight was creeping up and for making a decisive move to get back in control. And sorry to hear you've had some challenging events.

I'm planning to do one month on and one month off (we'll see how that goes in November...) and I'm hoping that after 4 weeks with no MJ, the month on 2.5mg will feel like the first time. I'm really hoping to maintain in my November month, not yo-yo back up, but I can see that being on the lowest dose through December might help curb too many seasonal excesses.

simb · 22/10/2025 23:55

Thank you so much for the responses @20bloodypounds and @EBoo80 ... I think it is a good idea to go back to 2.5 and see how I get on. I was with medicine marketplace (and medexpress prior to that)... I'll contact both to see if they'll allow me to start again.

I'm hoping to lose the weight I've put on and get well into the healthy bmi to give me a bit more buffer. I think part of the difficulty coming off has been due to the life events, so I'm hoping to be better planned next time and maybe taper down or do a maintenance plan...I honestly thought I'd be ok going it alone! It's been a real eye opener to what mj did for me although I really do think I learned good lessons whilst on it. I just haven't had the headspace to implement them as well as coping with the removable of the mj crutch.

Onwards!
