@Itisallgoingtobeoksimilar to others, I am also taking 5mg from a 7.5mg pen. Suppression was just a bit too strong for me at the higher dose. I’m going to continue to do that for a while with the price rises so a pen lasts me longer. It will take me a bit over the time limit but I’m keeping it in the fridge so am comfortable enough with the risk of that

20bloodypounds · 04/09/2025 19:43

@Itisallgoingtobeok Boots seem quite inflexible in that approach. One of the things I have noticed about MJ and private prescriptions is how differently we all react. I have never gone beyond 5mg, others had very little suppression until 10mg. Some people have extreme side effects, others have almost none. Personally I think it is great that in the main we have been able to order the doses that best suit our body and circumstances.

And well done on your year! Why on earth should you explain to people whether or how you have lost weight. No-one would ask questions of any other health or physical issue. No-one would say (for example) 'your hair is thinning have you thought about eating x or trying y'; OR 'your teeth are looking much straighter, have you been to Turkey to get them sorted?' OR 'your flatulence has improved, was it diet or medication?'

Hi - I’m very new as I’ve just decided to go onto Mounjaro so not even started yet! I’m hearing so many good outcomes, and I’ve got a long way to go (my BMI has sky rocketed due to Perimenopause and I also have an AI inflammatory condition that affects my joints and tendons so my ability to exercise is really low, considering I was a swimming/body pump / cycling girl for many years, this has taken its toll on my MH too but hoping my inflammation will go down soo with Mounjaro alongside the other biologic treatment I take for my condition
I love reading that it’s changed people lives … that’s what I’m hoping for!

@Brynosaur There is a specific thread for codes, you shouldn't be posting about them on other threads.

Sorry, I didn’t know! I’ve moved it over to the promo code thread 😊

So my latest order from juniper came with a free set of scales. I’ve just weighed myself with them and I am almost 2lbs lighter than on my current ones? Do I take that as a win and say that I have now reached my elusive goal?! Weighing in at 8st 6.3lbs so technically 0.7 below goal 😂

Orangesandlemons77 · 06/09/2025 12:24

I have rejoined the gym near me which has a pool. I am hoping to try and go even if I just float around and swim a bit, maybe doing that and reducing my dose might help in the future.

I have been going to the local leisure centre but it is a bit busy and off putting with the chlorine etc so maybe this will encourage me to go. It is a bit more expensive but maybe if I do come off the jabs that will work out. Just need to try and motivate myself to go now!

HumBumBum · 07/09/2025 09:30

Congratulations @sylv165 you made it! (I think I’d change my goal slightly, but only slightly!)

Hi @chunkybearthis is a thread for those of us who‘ve been on it a year (2024), we‘re happy to help, but you might get more support from people starting around the same time as you.

My anniversary is coming up this week and unless the OneBigPoo resolves everything I’m not going to make my target unfortunately. I really wanted it to be round numbers! Still a 1lb loss is to be celebrated at this stage - some way to go, and a limited number of pens to do it in!

EBoo80 · 08/09/2025 08:25

@HumBumBum haha - I’d be reaching for the physillum husks and mainlining water!
Although, of course, sensible hat on, with a view to maintenance it’s all good and healthy to resist the lure of the dopamine hit of the number on the scales…

HumBumBum · 09/09/2025 08:51

Morning folks, it’s my anniversary today so celebrating a major change in my life (although still going up to at least January now)

SW 245lbs (BMI 40.8)
CW 169lbs (BMI 28)
GW 150lb (probably more, but may have to switch off MJ)

I‘ve gone from a size 20/22 (in comfy clothes), to a size 12/14 in clothes that suit me. My average weight loss is 1.5lbs per week although most of that was in the first 6 months, it’s slowed down a lot.

In the beginning I refused to face how big I had got but have now lost 31% of my body weight, thank you to everyone on this thread who‘ve been here over the past year xx

OP posts:
chunkybear · 09/09/2025 10:58

I’m in the club!! Had my first jab today! I can’t even bear to know my weight so I’m doing thIs through Green Croas pharmacy, and the pharmacist is weighing me and just telling me what my losses are!
im very excited, I have a lot to lose so I’ve set my 6 months goal for 30kg …. I figured aim high and even if I get 60-80% there then I’ve done great!
wishing everyone lots of luck in their journey x

Lol clearly my fat has removed my brain … good luck all

20bloodypounds · 09/09/2025 13:31

Happy anniversary @HumBumBum I'm struggling with clothes that fit, even my smaller clothes are baggy and hanging off me - it's not a good look! I'm very close to goal now though so I'm reluctant to invest in much now, although a pair of jeans from Asda was a necessity, my old ones look ridiculous and I'm at risk of them falling down!

sylv165 · 16/09/2025 13:29

Happy one year anniversary to me! What a change from September 2024. I have lost 3st 12lbs, going from 12st 4lbs to 8st 7lbs. This is my target weight that I thought was completely fanciful when I started.

I am now exercising regularly and even have some biceps developing nicely! I can run 7k, and losing the extra weight has been absolutely key to me being able to do that as previous attempts had always failed as I either got injured or just found it too hard. The impact of that extra weight really hit home last night as I was at my personal trainer and doing squats while holding a 15kg weight. It felt really heavy, and then it struck me that I was previously carrying around almost double that in excess weight!

I’m now considering stopping after I use my fridge stash. I think that will get me into January and then I’ll review. Physically I think I am ready to stop as I’m happy enough with my weight, and although I have never had particularly bad side effects, the fatigue is starting to get to me. Mentally though im not so sure. I still don’t think I have fully cracked healthy eating. I don’t eat breakfast, and dinners are fine as I just eat smaller portions of whatever I’m making. Lunches I struggle with as I never really know what to make and often end up eating a bit of a fridge surprise. I think I need to get a good repertoire of healthy but filling lunches to stave off the urge to snack - any suggestions would be very welcome!

EBoo80 · 16/09/2025 14:30

Amazing @sylv165 - well done you.
I am now hugely committed to omelette for lunch when WFH. It fills me up nicely, can throw some leftover salad on the side if there is any, and i can make it in about 6 mins. Out and about is still much harder, although soup is still my go to.
I did one extra 2.5mg pen a couple of months after titrating off (after a bad month) and that was great: was back to early levels of suppression and I easily dropped 8 lbs in a month. If the pricing wasn’t such an issue, or if I had a stash in the fridge, I would be very tempted by month on month off.

Orangesandlemons77 · 16/09/2025 14:47

I also skip breakfast but just had for lunch a purition, shake with some frozen blueberries in it. I sometimes have cottage cheese and ryvita as well. Something with protein in.

Omelette sound good too, have not had one in ages, thanks!

20bloodypounds · 17/09/2025 22:13

Happy anniversary @sylv165 Isn't it amazing how far we've come since September 2024! We all started at different weights and sizes, we're all different shapes and heights. Some have achieved all that they hoped for, others are still on the journey. But we have all changed from where we were last year.

I'm on holiday, but the small portions is firmly ingrained. As is stopping when I've had enough. 'Enough' was not a concept I understood previously! Tonight dh and I shared a starter of fishcakes and salad. Then when he had his main, I choose another starter, and I didn't even finish it!

@EBoo80 one month off and one month on is where I'm heading, I think. A chance to really learn what hunger feels like, and how i can manage it, alongside daily life, pressures, eating out, temptations. Then a month when (if I need to) I have some help to re-establish any lapsed habits.

HumBumBum · 18/09/2025 08:16

Thats really good to know @EBoo80that it still works if we need to go back on. I keep getting asked to buy another pen and I’m tempted to add to my stash but can’t bring myself to pay the new prices for 7.5mg. I don’t need any until Christmas, do we think the prices will level off once they see how much market share they’re losing?

OP posts:
sylv165 · 18/09/2025 09:14

Enjoy your holiday @20bloodypounds! I’m away with my friends this weekend on a detox/retox weekend and can’t wait! I’m also thinking about a month on, month off. I’ve always had really strong suppression so I’m not convinced that I have taught myself to manage hunger properly yet. Want to get that cracked before I fully stop

Orangesandlemons77 · 18/09/2025 09:23

I'm on my second week of wegovy and think it might be helpful for maintenance. Have lost half a kg on it so far.

Getting more food noise though but still feel full, maybe it will be a good transition off meds at a cheaper price.

No bad side effects so far but not taking a high dose.

All the best to those changing or reducing down. Hopefully we can keep the losses we have had into the future.

Itisallgoingtobeok · 18/09/2025 09:38

Has anyone else got a dry stale mouth? I’m in 7.5mg still and it’s driving me crazy. I’m brushing my teeth properly, using a tongue scraper, and mouthwash, and drinking so much water I might drown, but nothing is making it better.

ILoveLeopard245 · 26/09/2025 07:07

I’m wondering how to go about maintenance now. I’ve gone from 16s10 to 9s6, a weight I never believed I could achieve. I was a dress size 18/20 and now a 10/12. I’m terrified about gaining it back and want to stay on a maintenance dose I think.
im back running and being really active which I love, and I can’t believe how much better I physically feel.

sylv165 · 26/09/2025 15:35

I think this is the scariest bit now @ILoveLeopard245. We have actually achieved what we set out to, and I am also terrified of putting it all back on once I stop. I flit back and forth between wanting to stop once my current stash is used up, and wanting to stay on it for another year or so to give myself more time to adjust. A good problem to have I guess!!
