I gave in and jabbed 2.5 mg yesterday

my weight gain tipped over 1st (2 months since last jab) and didn’t want to carry on over Christmas period without the support of MJ.

i can report instant fullness (not as much as first starting MJ but still noticeable) and food noise gone overnight

SW MJ 18.1 st /115 kg
Finishing MJ (7 Months) 13.8 st/88 kg
CW/MJ round 2 14.8st /94 kg
GW 11-12 st /70-75kg

@Bipaloss I wouldn't think of it as "giving in" and taking the medication, maybe it's just something you need to keep you healthy? Just like I need levothyroxine to keep my under active thyroid healthy, I also think I will need MJ long term to deal with the chronic condition of my obesity just like my thyroid medication deals with my chronic condition of under active thyroid.

Glad it's worked the second time around for you 🙂

Hi all

I am aware I have been absent from this thread and now rocking up when I need something 😬😬😬

I hit goal a little while back but life was so chaotic I didn’t have the headspace to taper so have been using the mounjaro to really mask bad habits (when I first started I was good as gold)

I’ve maintained for a while with the help of 15mg

my plan was to taper in January, really sensibly post Christmas - with loads of exercise as I am running an ultra marathon in April

now here’s the problem. I had a routine review and they have cut me off because my BMI is too low.

it should be low, I have a small frame.

so now AT CHRISTMAS I have no option to taper and only one injection left

I know what I need to do - sort my diet right away and not rely on the running but am so deflated and worried so any advice really welcome

I can’t put this weight back on - but my plan has been scuppered

Puddingpiper · 19/12/2025 08:01

@RuthEvershedforPM what is your BMI on monj.co.uk there are a list of providers and minimum bmi for maintenance

Oh no that’s not ok. When you have a plan and it gets changed, it can be quite destabilising. Can you go back to them? If your bmi is low (how low is it?) then other providers might not be able to

Spondoolie · 19/12/2025 08:42

Morning all

I’m another one away for weeks and coming to check in.

62lb loss (1lb off 4.5 stone) and I have only lost 5lb since September but happy with that. I am using up old golden doses to keep on top of things and will go back properly in January.

My goal was 8’5 and I would really like to get to it. Why not when we have come this far?

i see myself being on forever as my eating is still very disordered when it wears off and I don’t want that.

cannot believe the joy clothes bring! Some people have had this feeling their whole lives!

Spondoolie · 19/12/2025 09:13

Didn’t provide context!

SW: 14
CW: 9’8
GW: 8’5

Still overweight! BMI 25.3

Fairfaxandflavor · 19/12/2025 12:06

@RuthEvershedforPM ,unless your bmi is really low like under 19 I can't see why they've cut you off.
Try another provider?
I any case best to change your mindset around food if you've just been relying on suppression, maybe if will help.
I F is keeping it off for me now, and I'll be keeping it up, but I definitely think a low dose for life is the best option, I've admittedly gone too far now for fear of putting it back on knowing I've got to stop soon.

RuthEvershedforPM · 19/12/2025 14:22

Thanks all, BMI is 19.1, But I do have a really small frame, should really always have been slim 😬

I have gone back to them without success, but hopefully can shop around.

I do need to sort my food plan - had been really good until v recently- just work got completely on top of me so was making it a Jan job.

Puddingpiper · 19/12/2025 14:24

@RuthEvershedforPM maybe try lotus or we prescribe. I think lotus is 20 for joining and 19 for maintenance once with them. May have to be an end of the day weigh to get the BMI of 20

Yellowsubmarine55 · 20/12/2025 14:52

Last update from me this year but cue happy dance I've lost 5 stone. Whoop whoop 🎉. Takes me to about 10lb to a normal BMI.

Hope you all enjoy the festivities whatever you are doing. I'm taking a break from weighing myself and come 1 Jan what will be will be and we start again.

Thank you to everyone for supporting us all through this. Amazing bunch of people 🥰

RuthEvershedforPM · 20/12/2025 17:39

Well done @Yellowsubmarine55! I was thinking no weighing too - just nice food and a bit of running to absorb the worst of it

soupforbrains · 20/12/2025 19:17

This will probably be my last check in for the year too.

this week I only lost 1lb.

BUT it was the last 1lb I needed to bring up 5Stone loss. So I’m super happy. Never thought I’d be here at this stage.

SW:20st
CW:15st
GW:11st7

total loss 5 stone
to goal: 3st7lb

We fly tomorrow to Barbados to board our 2 week Caribbean cruise for Christmas and new year. I actually have packed the scales. I took them on our last cruise and didn’t find that weighing in prevented me from enjoying myself or the food and drink. But it did prevent me being sad from seeing my weight when I returned after the holiday. So I’ll be weighing in, just so that I know where I’m at, but I fully expect to put on a few pounds, no biggie.

Fuelledbylatte · 20/12/2025 20:06

Well done to everyone for a slog this year. It’s been great company reading through this board.

A NSV today was hoiking myself out of the swimming pool (no steps in my lane annoyingly) in one motion. Really couldn’t do that this time last year. 3 stones gone I hope forever.

Yetanotherusername2000 · 20/12/2025 22:00

My hot flushes have gone overtime in the last couple of weeks. I thought they would reduce with weight loss, so a bit gutted. ChatGPT says it is because I’m eating sugar again. Anyone got any real wisdom?!

MJ122025 · 21/12/2025 19:25

@Yetanotherusername2000I'm the same. My night sweats have gone bonkers in the last week and I didn't know why. Hadn't considered the fact that I'm off the wagon and eating loads.

I just can't seem to get myself back under control and my jeans are getting tight. Gutted.

I'm actually thinking i just need to get this week out the way because I know my mindset will change by the weekend.

I hit 98lbs lost today. 😱. If anyone had told me I would have lost this much at the beginning of the year I would of laughed in thier face.

Incredible! Well done! I’m on 85lbs loss (6st 1lb). Fully expecting to gain some back over the next couple of weeks though but that’s okay. I wore a pair of size 14 jeans yesterday and a medium jumper (the label said it was equivalent to 12-14 🥹) I haven’t worn clothes that small since I was about 15!!

TheBossOfMe · 22/12/2025 11:29

Wow, some amazing weight losses here!

@MJ122025 @Yetanotherusername2000 Night sweats have increased since I titrated down, although I've definitely noticed they're a lot worse on nights when I've eaten rich or sugary food during the day. So I think they're diet related as well as hormone related. Have finally started HRT to try and get rid of them, they're making me super tired because I wake up loads.

Unlike some of you, I'm daily weighing through the holiday period. I've got a couple of pounds in the bank, which isn't really enough, so I think I'll end up above goal by the end of the holidays, but I'd rather see what's going on day by day and not feel totally shocked when I weigh after a couple of weeks. Like @soupforbrains weighing daily hasn't really interfered with my enjoyment of food so I'm ok with it.

Fatmumslim01 · 22/12/2025 12:52

NSV here , I ordered my next pen and they asked for pics I haven't done pics in a few months as find it quite triggering as I'm still huge. Well I did the pics and then compared them to my starting pics from march and you would think it's a different person. I can't have been that big surely 😭 anyways onwards and downward!

I'm so excited about not overeating at Christmas! Food has no power over me now thanks to this miracle medication. DH commented this morning when out food order came and was in the fridge that he can't believe how empty the fridge is. Clearly it's not empty and I still need to fit a turkey and gammon in there but it's empty compared to the quite frankly gluttony of previous Christmas.

Also DC got weighed today and they are 4 stone 5 pound. I've lost 3 stone 7 so almost an entire DC. That's absolutely mental, and I still can't see it properly! Even looking at the pics mentioned above i still don't think either of them are "me". Aren't brains funny 🤣

Fairfaxandflavor · 22/12/2025 15:03

Ha ha @Fatmumslim01 have just had same conversation about the fridge not groaning with food, there's more dog food to see him through the holidays than ours, the fridge would normally be full of cheese that would be mindlessly gorged on, sausage rolls, pork pies, etc. There's hardly anything and that's OK we can have a few extra things without succumbing to the gluttony of over eating for the sake of it.
I'm happy to get through Christmas and know I won't be several pounds gained.
I too am weighing every day it keeps me on track because I can't ignore any gains, that's what got me to 12 7 in the first place and I ain't going back.

Fatmumslim01 · 23/12/2025 17:43

Me again 😁 I'm just loving Christmas on MJ it's just so liberating to not be obsessed with food. We went to a Christmas market type thing today and normally I'd be all over the food, it was things like hot hog barms, loaded fries, burgers etc. but I just wasn't fussed. I had a mulled apple juice and that was it. And I still had just as much of a nice time without the food.

Normally DH and I would be knee deep in the Christmas food by now. One memorable year we had 14 (!) blocks of cheese in the fridge. This year we have 4 and 3 of them are those mini £1 ones in wax. So very small amount.

I've just cracked open the Bailey's first glass of the year. Last year I drank 3 bottles in December 😱

Like I say, mj is absolutely changing my life

RuthEvershedforPM · 23/12/2025 17:55

That sounds great @Fatmumslim01

we have guests so the fridge is still fairly gross (especially with cheese) but completely agree on the loaded fries etc. I think I had a mad view of portions this time last year

RuthEvershedforPM · 23/12/2025 17:56

My DH has been at the baileys, he’s slim and good looking - it gives me the ick seeing all the alcohol he’s had. This may be adjacent to him being off work and doing sweet FA though 😬

Fairfaxandflavor · 23/12/2025 18:31

This time last year I had eaten at least 3 chocolate oranges, on our 3rd tub of palm oil /'chocolate' and home made mince pies, plus cheese etc etc. Plus wine, beer.
Makes me feel sick thinking about it.
I'm just saying no to the unnecessary, very eye opening though isn't it looking at it from this perspective. I thought I'd struggle, and I have, but not from deprivation just from all the constant pressure to eat eat eat, at every turn. It's exhausting just telling everyone no I don't want to eat your well intentioned fattening crap 😂, but thanks!
We've got a one more glutton fest to go where everyone else will be gorging on bacon sandwiches and pastries Christmas morning, then Christmas lunch which I can navigate by eating veg/turkey then that's it.
