@Outsidebeanshop I believe it is to do with the hair shedding cycle and that the weight loss triggers this. From what I have read it is the weightloss not the MJ. It will grow back but with waist length hair that could be a lengthy process. A chop may be coming!

not sure on the magnesium, it is included in my supplements which I now take so many I rattle but they seem to be working on everything other than the hair loss. I am starting to see some visible thinning on the sides being 5 foot 11 not many see the top of my head 😂 my hair is dark though so bare skin stands out.

with the amount of people on MJ with hair loss it is safe to blame the weigh loss and the weight loss being a side effect of the MJ rather than peri or the coil.

Flamethrowers · 23/09/2025 18:48

Re hair loss mine was ok until the last two months when I’ve been effectively maintaining (gained three pounds? and it’s been coming out in huge amounts

northernlight20 · 24/09/2025 14:17

No jab or weigh in for me this week as we’re away. Lots of walking but defo drinking more beer than I usually would. Back to it on Monday. Hope everyone else is good.

Yellowsubmarine55 · 24/09/2025 16:13

Lost 1lb this week and 1.8lb last, now 0.4lb away from 4 stone 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳

It's amazing, it's my 6 mth anniversary tomorrow and I'm a new woman swanning around in my size 14 clothes or medium if it's sized S,M, L etc.

Goal is 10 stone so 1st 4 to go - just 18lb - I've got this.

But I'm with everyone on my hair falling out but it's so thick that it could do with thinning out 😁

What's everyone thinking is a good/average body fat %. Good ol' Google says 32% for a woman - unfortunately still a long way to go in that case.

RuthEvershedforPM · 24/09/2025 19:45

3.3kg to go … went shopping after work as have a thing on Friday and genuinely nothing to wear

@RuthEvershedforPM I love that dress on you!

Ingangoolie · 25/09/2025 10:18

@RuthEvershedforPM looking good 😊 you look like you would look good in pretty much anything

LilyLondon · 25/09/2025 10:32

Morning everyone!

Checking in after some busy time in life. Just very randomly got my period today just a week after the previous one ended (??? quite bizarre for me, I tend to have very long cycles), but with that came another whoosh…

…which takes me over the 2 stones lost mark 🥳 I know some of you have lost twice as much, but to me, this is still such a big achievement:
• I’ve never lost this much in any weight loss effort in the past
• I’m now my lowest weight that I’ve ever achieved with any weight loss effort

NSVs: many health markers are the best they’ve been in my life!
• least processed diet with the best protein+fibre : carbs ratio
• core and arms strength (thanks reformer pilates!), I can actually do a lot of abs exercises without straining my neck!
• most regular digestion (even as I’ve gotten less religious with inulin powder)

NSF(ails):
• taking a bath is notoriously less comfortable
• my kid got a bruise from banging his face into my pelvic bone (guess he didn’t expect it there…neither did I lol)
• I’ve got no clothes (a year ago I donated everything I was never going to fit into again 🤦‍♀️)

SW: 84 kg / 185lbs
CW: 70.7kg / 156 lbs
GW: 68kg / 150lbs (with buffer, want to keep it under 70kg / 155lbs long-term)

Curious, has anybody switched from MJ and joined me on Wegovy? How are you finding it? ☺️

RuthEvershedforPM · 25/09/2025 11:51

Bless you @Ingangoolie and @TheBossOfMe it’s a whole new feeling to go shopping and just try things without fear! There’s plenty of things that still look rubbish 😂 but I don’t absolutely hate everything.
Would be nice to still have boobs but you can’t have it all!

ReluctantCustomer · 26/09/2025 09:46

Oh good, I found you again! 29 weeks in, and I am delighted to say I have now lost 49 pounds!

GiveMeWordGames · 27/09/2025 08:37

@RuthEvershedforPM that dress looks gorgeous on you!

It was my 6 month point earlier this week and today I managed to hit 4st off so I'm chuffed with that. It gives me around 1.5 stone to get to my goal range and then we'll see.

27 weeks in (this coming Monday). Early 50s. 5ft 8. Currently on 7.5mg.
SW 17st 4
CW 13st 4
TW 11-12st

Total loss so far 4st/56lbs/25.4kg

mumofmanydaughterofone · 27/09/2025 09:58

Been stuck bouncing between 11st 2lb and 11st 3lb all this bloody month - very briefly saw 11st 1.6 and got excited about dropping into the 10s for the first time since I was 20 (I'm now 55 - even the thought of 10 something is insane to me) but now I'm just feeling a bit deflated - I can't afford to stay on indefinitely and it feels like the last month has been wasted!
Any thoughts? I'm overthinking everything right now and just getting myself in a tizz - I'm not going over calories, drinking so much water - is it just trust the process or is there something I can do to move things along?
SW pre MJ 15st
SW on MJ 14st
CW 11st 2 or 3
TW 10st to 9st 10

Fatmumslim01 · 27/09/2025 11:04

@mumofmanydaughterofone is it maybe time to increase your dose?

I'm aboutbto order my next pen and Im definitely going to go up to 10mg. Feel like I've injected water on 7.5 tbh.

Although I've said it before and I'll say it again....what witchcraft is MJ and what is it doing to my brain??!! Take last night as an example, DH was going out for dinner with work so I had the DC on my own for dinner bath bed etc. pre MJ this would be a perfect reason to get a takeaway but instead I had leftovers from tbe previous night, and had a rummage in the freezer to cobble together freezer tapas for the DC and we were absolutely fine.

Although having said that we have a planned takeaway next Fri as we have an event in the evening so need something quick to pick up for tea on the way home and I'm looking forward to it already 😁

Mantha78 · 27/09/2025 18:33

Hello lovely ladies!
I have been on this thread from the very beginning, only posted once months back!!
I started MJ on the 10th March, have lost 4st 5lbs and am now 7lbs away from my goal - currently on 10mg.
i just want to say thank you so much to the lovely lady that started this thread and you lovely lot who regularly post - you have kept me sane (well as as sane as I can be!) and helped me feel
supported.

now starting to think about the really scary task of maintaining and the absolutely real fear that this attempt will end on the same way as what feels like 100s of attempts over the years!!

Please keep posting ladies - i need balance as I work with a lot of Janice’s!!! 🤣

GameOfJones · 27/09/2025 18:53

Hello hello, well remarkably after a stall and then a gain last week I've had a bit of a whoosh and lost 3lbs this week! That takes me almost to goal which is remarkable really!

SW pre MJ: 15st 1lb

SW on MJ: 14st

CW: 10st 9lbs

My goal weight was 11st when I started this because to be honest that felt unattainable. I couldn't imagine being as low as 11st. Now I'm under that I've adjusted it to 10st 7lbs and I think I'll use that as a weight I don't want to go over and if I do, I know to knuckle down and get back on track.

Somewhere between 10st and 10st 7lbs puts me right around a BMI of 22/23 which feels right for me.

northernlight20 · 28/09/2025 08:14

Got home from holiday on Friday morning. We had walked loads and made good food choices, drank a couple more beers than normal. Was very scared to weigh. But did this morning and was very glad to see that I’ve lost 4st 9lb all together. And got my 4 n half stone rosette from nutracheck.
sw 114.4kg
cw 84.8kg
gw 69kg
still a long way to go, but hoping to be at goal by Christmas.

Weekly weigh in for me

SW 115 kg /18.1 st
CW 91.3 kg / 14.3 st
GW 75 kg / 12 st

loss this week 0.4 kg / 0.8 lb
total loss 23.7 kg / 52.2 lb
64% of goal reached

i guess a loss is a loss , although it feels very slow at the moment, I’m still on track for the personal goal of 3kg/6lb a month

one thing I have noticed on 12.5 is anxiety , it’s really weird but it’s noticeable as I get it for random things , read it’s a side effect but just weird.

just like @northernlight20 I’m hoping to be not at goal, but under 1st away from goal by Christmas to start tilter down doses or move to Wegovy in January

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 28/09/2025 09:22

Good morning all

This week the SE on 12.5 have hit me like a bus, the feeling of bone chilling cold that I can not warm up, tiredness and having to take something for any movement including 💨.

Its amazing how medication builds up in your body as the first week on 12.5 I was absolutely fine.

I have now hit a stage where the clothes in my wardrobe are all getting too big pulled out a pair of designer jeans that could not go past my thighs 6 months ago well they drown me so they are going on Vinted.

I am going to post a picture because yesterday I was out at a day event outside so wrapped up warm but throw the outfit together as the outfit I thought I could wear was too big.

SW 13st 4lbs
TW 9st but could be 8st 7lbs
CW 9st 4lbs no change from last week.

Oh guys ive had the work week from hell. Hosting ‘bigwigs’ from the US insanely long days, not enough sleep, socially ‘switched on’ at all times and mess out every night. Every battery I have is drained. Sorry I’ve barely been on here. I needed to be a hermit for any time I could to try and preserve my sanity and the rest of the time I was working.

anyway I did weigh in yesterday and it’s a no change week for me, which considering we had lunches ordered in every day (and done by various people not a personal order type thing) and dinners out every night, I’m amazed I didn’t put on 5lbs

SW:20st
CW: 16st1lb
GW: 11st7 (to begin with)

a little frustrating to have a no change week when I am tantalisingly close to the 4 stone loss marker but I’m just glad it’s not a gain.

@TheSpoonyNavyReadersorry to hear the SE truck has run you over this week. That’s rough. Although I will say that the weather change this week made me so cold some evenings I couldn’t get warm too. And I’m confident it’s not a side effect my end. I hope things settle down for you this week.

soupforbrains · 28/09/2025 09:52

Oh and @TheSpoonyNavyReaderyou look absolutely phenomenal in that outfit. I don’t know how to type a wolf-whistle but that’s the sound my brain made.

and I also forgot to mention a couple of other things.

  1. loose skin - so a month or two ago I started to notice loose skin appearing practically everywhere but especially on my thighs arms and belly. Loose skin has been my bigger fear about this whole major weight loss process and so this was demoralising and scary for me (silly I know). Anyway I didn’t change anything I was doing but have continued to use collagen moisturiser and take vitamin B&E supplements. And I noticed this week that my loose skin is resolving itself. So I just wanted to say that for those of us in the ‘approaching 40’ category, there is hope! And our skin does still have some elasticity remaining.
  2. Boobs - I know lots here are lamenting rhe loss/reduction of their boobs. But has anyone else seen the opposite? Obviously I don’t meant that they are actually growing, but that my breasts have remained the same size while I’ve lost weight all around them so that they appear bigger (and thanks to coming down 3 bra band sizes my cup size now practically needs a new alphabet). I’ve been big boobed my whole life so I wasn’t expecting them to just disappear, but I also know that they’ve gotten bigger as I have, so I was expecting them to shrink. I was hoping a nice manageable D cup like when I was at Uni (I was an E/F pre weight loss).

A loss is a loss. I had the anxiety on 5mg, lasted a couple of weeks then it went, replaced by heartburn which I get on and off these days.

Buscake · 28/09/2025 10:45

I’m making progress still here despite thinking I would stall forever at 73kg. I’m on my second month of 10mg and really not sure whether to go down yet or not. I still have 3kg to go to get to what I feel is a good place for me to maintain. I feel so worried about being able to maintain it though and how this will actually be. Will the hunger come back and gnaw at me etc? I know that when maintaining I will be able to eat more calories again I just really am wondering what it will be like. I kee seeing things about how hard it will be to keep the weight off - regardless of wli - just that it’s really hard to keep it off once you lose it :( Feeling demotivated, confused and wish someone could tell me what to do. So open to any advice on this!

TheBossOfMe · 28/09/2025 11:04

@soupforbrainsWork weeks like that are stressful especially when you can’t make your own decisions about what food to order, sounds like you managed it well.

@TheSpoonyNavyReaderyou look fab!

Aboutmeabouttime · 28/09/2025 12:01

Hey all, still here, lost 1lb this week and crawling to initial goal weight and healthy BMI. 3lbs to go but it’s slow… I’m still on 2.5mg, never did go up…
SW: 13st 7
CW: 10st 10 (last weighed this in 2018!)
GW: 10st 7

Then like others, no idea what to do… might try 1.25mg or do 14 day gaps for a while. Feel like I will try and maintain with MJ for a while to try and ‘cement in’ 😂 this new weight/set point.

RuthEvershedforPM · 28/09/2025 20:45

@TheSpoonyNavyReader what a lovely outfit! You look fab!
