Welcome to thread 12 fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we enjoy a far more comfortable Summer significantly lighter. We now wear ALL the damn shorts 💪🏻

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W35 D2 and on my fourth 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 10.6lbs
GW 9st 7lb
Total loss so far 56.4 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Ooh my weight starts with a 10 today for the first time since about 2020!

Woohoo!

Pumpkinforever · 09/07/2025 13:30

congrats @evilharpy I am hoping to be in the 10s come mid August.

weighed myself today and I have stayed the same which is not bad given that I attended a wedding and had a week away.

Prior to MJ I would never hop on the scales after a holiday or event and then do anything about a weight gain. How times have changed!

We went away with another couple and for the first time in 20 years I looked slimmer than her. And for the first time she had some weight loss conversations with me but I kept schtum about MJ. I ate and drank the same as her but did my walks which she started to join me on.

Morning skinny friends in my phone! I have my first fancy event coming up next month - 1920s themed party in a castle! and have been shopping on Vinted! I've bought a size 10 dress 🙈 Please let it fit! It's a loose-ish style, so I hope it's forgiving. If not, I have 6 weeks to really nail my nutrition and drop a good chunk of weight. Maybe this is just the incentive I need actually! Been feeling a bit stuck as weight feels like it's not moving (according to Shotsy it is, think it's just a mental thing). Right, Project 1920s Skinny starts now!

Sounds fabulous! You'll fit in it I'm sure. Up the protein and reduce your treats/wine and increase your activity by 10% and you'll get there.

Interesting discussion this morning on R4 at 9am on the 'More or Less' programme about the facts behind reducing calorie intake 'by one bottle of coke to halve obesity'...Worth a listen.

@SerenePeereverything crossed the tiny dress fits! So exciting to be able to buy small sizes and have options.
@evilharpythat's amazing! Way to go.

I’ve let out and ungodly amount of wind today, and am beginning to feel better and the scales were down this morning only a tiny bit, I’ll take any encouragement right now.

I now have visions of Vivian in the Young Ones when he 'gave birth' but it was just a giant fart 😂

Upped to 19 this week but not feeling anything. My appetite has come back with a bang. I want to eat everything and can’t stop thinking about what to cook. This is the first time this has happened since November. I’m in panic mode.

Does anything feel different? More stress? Have you gradually changed what kinds of foods you’re eating, eg reintroduced daily snacks? More exercise/ activity that’s making you hungry?

Mounjaropen · 09/07/2025 19:43

For some reason Peloton thought this email was motivational…spoiler alert it wasn’t 😂 These are my stats for June ( I was away until around the w/c 9th so this represents just under 3 weeks of Treadmill activity so roughly 4 x pw)

Days worked out: 12
Minutes worked out: 415
Miles travelled: 26.6
Calories Burned: 3012

So all of that effort (and my walking speed is around 4.2mph which is brisk) I didn’t even save 1 pound’s worth of fat in terms of calories…which is an eye opener post MJ to ensure I am staying within my BMR+ Exercise allowance or the weight will pile back on. Obviously there are other health benefits from cardio activity and I did play tennis 2 x pw, walk the dog every day and did 5 x Pvolve pw on top of this but it does show just how easy it is to over-calculate how much exercise is worth in ‘extra’ calories. And I really don’’t have a high BMR (1340) so I can’t afford to eat like I used to at all. Let alone drink like I did…

On the upside, I did read this article earlier and coincidentally I also completed my 150th Pvolve work out today 💪🏻so that is an average of over 4 workouts pw since I started MJ 36 weeks ago which I am really proud of. There is something to be said for committing up front financially in order to force yourself into doing something new!

Hormones do you think? Or are you actually thirsty rather than hungry? what is your water intake like? Or your protein levels?

Water intake has dropped from the 2-3l I'd been drinking since November. i'm going to aim for 3l today and see how that goes. Same for protein. I think you might have nailed what is different in my diet.

Thank you for your reply. I think it's the reintroduction of other foods and not enough water. Hoping that increasing both will sort the cravings out.

Try using ChatGPT (or any other AI) to create a menu plan for the next week that is protein rich, balanced and uses your BMR plus exercise rate. You can tell it to exclude what you don’t like/dietary requirements and where you prefer to shop/budget etc. it’s more tailored than using Google. You can tell it what dose MJ you are on. Start with a prompt such as ‘create a meal plan for someone on a 10.0mg dose of Mounjaro which promotes satiety, maximise protein macros and excludes dairy’ then tell it you only shop at Tesco, need a lunch at work from Pret or Itsu and you have a budget of £65/whatever. You can tell it what you already have in the freezer /fridge or that you dislike Indian/mexican food etc. it’s free and saves you a lot of research/faffing!

I have just tried chatGPT as @Mounjaropen suggested - magic

jay55 · 10/07/2025 07:59

@Dreamqueenmight be worth changing injection site too. I’ve been getting more suppression injecting in my thigh rather than stomach.

Yesterday the fatigue hit at about 4pm, not good as I was in the office. Left a little early went straight to bed when I got home. Scales are down again today but as I only had a sandwich yesterday and no dinner I’m not really counting it.

edited to say, I pressed send too soon! Hope you feel able to eat a bit more today and that the fatigue subsides. That does sound very debilitating.

What sort of foods have you reintroduced?

For me for example, I’ve learned that I can’t eat UPFs anymore, even a little bit. It’s like giving someone who’s quit smoking a cigarette. The cravings come back.

I reintroduced my old vice Lindt and quickly ended up wanting it daily so I’ve cut it back out.

Maybe it’s something like that?
