Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we enjoy a far more comfortable Summer significantly lighter. We now wear ALL the damn shorts 💪🏻

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W35 D2 and on my fourth 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 10.6lbs
GW 9st 7lb
Total loss so far 56.4 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Congratulations @Pumpkinforever as well. Sorry, I missed your post initially.
I absolutely love it when I see a new number on the scales, so I get your joy.
I'm sorry I can't actually insert Klaxons at the moment. My emoji button has stopped working!

Goldleafcat · 14/08/2025 13:24

I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news - but from what I’ve just seen on Reddit and on another thread on Mumsnet - MJ prices are going to go up! And not by a small amount either! From what I saw, 15mg wholesale will be £330! WTF?!

Sadly if this is the case it looks like my MJ journey will end sooner than planned. I’ve just today ordered another pen from Boots (time to order) and I have a couple in the fridge… will be maximising my bonus doses etc!

Will see what the pharmacies have to say. I expect they’ll be chewing this over.

Suspect no coincidence it’s almost the same time as Eli Lilly and the NHS have announced they’ll be rolling out more on the NHS… whether that’ll be cheaper for the NHS and partly funded by private costs rising? Hopefully not to take advantage of the NHS? Can only guess.

Goldleafcat · 14/08/2025 13:28

So close @MagnoliaTreePetals to that 5 stone! You’ll get there in no time!

Fantastic news @MontyJinks celebration time for the both of you! 🎉

And well done @Pumpkinforever You’ve broken into the 10s and almost at 5 stone too!

Taken off another thread…

price increases……

Dear Customer,
Important Information Regarding Mounjaro®▼ (tirzepatide)
Eli Lilly & Company will be adjusting the UK list price for Mounjaro, to bring it into line with the rest of Europe and other developed countries. This will be effective from 1st September 2025.
Lilly understands that changes in medicine pricing can be challenging, and want to support patients and healthcare organisations through this transition. To assist with your understanding and next steps, Lilly have shared the below information.
Why are Lilly increasing Mounjaro prices?
Following a review, Lilly will increase the UK list price for Mounjaro from 1st September to address pricing inconsistencies compared to other developed countries, including in Europe. In parallel, Lilly have reached an agreement with the NHS to ensure continued supply and patient access. While Lilly does not determine the prices that private healthcare providers set, Lilly are working with them to maintain patient access.
The UK was one of the first countries where Lilly launched Mounjaro, and the priority was to bring it to patients as quickly as possible during a time of limited supply of GLP-1 RA treatments for type 2 diabetes. At launch, Lilly agreed to a UK list price that is significantly below the European average to prevent delays in NHS availability. With changes in the environment and new clinical evidence supporting the value of Mounjaro, Lilly are now aligning the list price more consistently to ensure fair global contributions to the cost of innovation.
Why does the UK price need to be in line with European and other developed countries average prices?
Having a significantly lower price in the UK than European countries encourages other entities to export UK supply to those countries to profit from the price differential. Although this practice is banned to protect supply for UK patients, Lilly are aware of attempts to circumvent the export ban. Illegal exports could jeopardise patient safety by compromising the supply chain and Lilly are taking all means possible to protect UK supply for UK patients.
What are the new UK List Prices of Mounjaro?
Mounjaro®▼ (tirzepatide) KwikPen® Dose Updated UK List Price 2.5mg £133 5mg £180 7.5mg £255 10mg £255 12.5mg £330 15mg £330
Will the NHS be paying the new list prices?
Lilly has reached an agreement with the NHS to maintain patient access across all care settings, as such the cost effectiveness of Mounjaro per NICE and SMC guidance has remained unchanged. For any further queries on the reimbursement mechanism or timelines kindly refer to official communication from NHS England, NHS Scotland, NHS Wales, or NHS Northern Ireland.
How are Lilly supporting private providers to maintain patient access to Mounjaro?
To maintain patient access to Mounjaro, Lilly will be providing commercial terms to all private providers. These commercial terms are expected to be transferred to patients. Lilly will continue to assess the Commercial Agreement.
Lilly will be requesting each private provider to submit a monthly breakdown of NHS and private prescriptions/sales. This data will be used for high-level calculations related to the monthly rebates, and submissions should be provided no later than the end of each month.
To view The Commercial Agreement please see the propositions page within your AAH account via this link.
If you have any queries and would like to directly get in contact with Lilly – please email, who will be able to support.
Kind Regards,
AAH Pharmaceuticals

It's gutting isn't it? Horrendous to hike the price that much out the blue

That would be dreadful. It would mean the end of some people’s MJ journeys. If that is the case I am glad that most of us are either well into, near the end or are in maintenance. I have a 10, a 7.5 and a 5 already in hope of a downward weaning off from October.

I suspect that I will need the support of MJ in some form of maintenance.

Such a high price will impact the NHS roll out.

Pumpkinforever · 14/08/2025 15:09

What are the new UK List Prices of Mounjaro?
Mounjaro®▼ (tirzepatide) KwikPen® Dose Updated UK List Price 2.5mg £133 5mg £180 7.5mg £255 10mg £255 12.5mg £330 15mg £330

with those price it will drive an underground market of all sorts of dodgy MJ variants. We see enough crazy threads as it on the MN WLI.

But my 10mg pen cost £165 including postage and with a discount. So 10mg could potentially cost £90 more 😟

Dreadful news for those just starting on their journeys. I was aware that MJ was cheaper in UK than lots of other European countries but even so that is quite a hike.

SerenePeer · 14/08/2025 16:52

Urgh just saw the news re price hikes- all thanks to Trump 😤 it's a well known strategy of pharma companies to charge higher prices in the US and he's having none of it. Independent private suppliers will be able to negotiate prices though, so I'll be watching with interest to see who has the greatest buying power/clout with Eli Lilly.....hopefully they'll appreciate the value of the private market given their pledge not to increase prices for the NHS.

Price negotiations on drugs happens all the time, so fingers crossed.

SerenePeer · 14/08/2025 16:53

Welcome back @Mounjaropen !

I want to come off MJ at my own pace, with confidence I can keep the weight off and have the right lifestyle changes sorted to succeed. Not because the noisy orange one with tiny hands is barking up yet another tree.

Cantbesure · 14/08/2025 17:02

I’ve just watched the oushk live. She’s suggesting as much as £300 for 15mg and about £150 for 2.5. She is saying wegovy is a good alternative. But I wonder if that will follow suit?

Pumpkinforever · 14/08/2025 17:17

I missed her live, apparently Oushk (and others) are allowing people to order more than one pen with delivery before end of August. I changed the delivery date of my next order.

My fridge better not break down.

Goldleafcat · 14/08/2025 17:21

Now regretting not being with Oushk 😟

MounjNewb · 14/08/2025 18:07

Saw the pricing horror news on Oushk’s chaps WhatsApp chat today. Reports there also that Oushk permitting 3 pen orders before 1st Sept when price change kicks in.

jay55 · 14/08/2025 18:35

Just had a mail from medexpress about the pricing. They’ll sell at current price as long as they can.
I’ve just bought a pen but will try and get another next week.

jay55 · 14/08/2025 18:36

Medexpress are also saying they’ll support transition to ozempic.

Pumpkinforever · 14/08/2025 18:52

I think our usual pharmacists will do their best to cushioned prices. I think it’s the higher doses which will see the biggest hikes.

£150 or thereabouts for 2.5mg may put some new starters off or force some towards Sheila the hairdresser who has supply contacts.

It will be interesting how maintenance will work going forward. I just feel relieved I started in Nov 24 and not more recently.

Mounjaropen · 14/08/2025 19:22

Thanks everyone for the heads up about pricing - I've just ordered 3 of the 5mg pens with Oushk as I have a 15% discount. The new price for the higher doses seems immoral really. I hope everyone finds a solution, I know it is not an option for everyone to stockpile right now - especially if they are a couple on it.

OP posts:
MsRumpole · 14/08/2025 20:33

I have just asked my provider if I can order a couple of extra pens before the price rises come in. I will still be able to afford it but I feel exceptionally sad for anyone who can't. Hopefully the NHS criteria will broaden at the same time and those who got it privately will be able to continue with it on the NHS.

Oceangrey · 14/08/2025 21:27

Well this is rubbish, it's such a huge increase and I'm just going to 12.5mg so that would be well over £300 a month.
I've just tried to order more from Oushk and the 12.5 was sold out so I've ordered two of the 10mg. But not sure if they will be approves and arrive.

MounjNewb · 14/08/2025 21:32

I jumped in and ordered 3x 10mg pens from Oushk as I saw messages coming in of 12.5 and 15 going out of stock. Pretty clumsy of them to announce 3 pen order permissions as this no doubt precipitated a run. I understand if you’ve had an order acceptance your supply is secure subject to any clinical checks there may be. Recent movers to them should be OK as video calls/weigh verifications/photos are good for 6 months I think.

Pumpkinforever · 14/08/2025 21:40

Oushk have created a bit of a rush now across suppliers. With them being out of 15 and 12.5 they will probably be out of 10s in the next day or two. They are also running out of delivery slots. Chaos really. I feel sorry for them, and other pharmacies, who have invested in the WLI model and developed websites and platforms

Apparently the 10 won't run out (according to Hira on today's live) as it's not subject to the limitations that the two highest are. I asked the question as I was also concerned. Fingers crossed this is the case.
