Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we enjoy a far more comfortable Summer significantly lighter. We now wear ALL the damn shorts 💪🏻

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W35 D2 and on my fourth 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 10.6lbs
GW 9st 7lb
Total loss so far 56.4 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Such a lot of positive news from you lovely fellow death jabbers!

Today I want to sound the 4 stone off klaxon! I'm so thrilled and funnily enough the bigger clothes that sort of fit for ages are now hanging off me. Such a good feeling as I had been stalling on 15.5 stone - I am now 14.7. 15.5 was I think one of my set points. In the past, without Mounjaro, I have given up diets at that weight, but with it, I was able to keep on buggering on, and it has paid off.

The doctor who prescribes for me (I'm in Spain) has, for the first time, given me a prescription for two consecutive 10mg pens as I want to stay on this dose for a while, so I don't have to pay the private prescription charge next month. Woot!

🥳🥳🥳🥳 four stone loss is amazing!

Obviously jealous that you’ve managed to get a 241 on your prescription though👏👏

I was secretly hoping for a live stream link for the wedding @Mounjaropen? How were the gorgeous shoes? Good luck for your DH’s recovery, it’s amazing what surgeons can do these days.

I am off to Pilates again later. Just done a walk before it heats up again, got back to find I had sold another item on Vinted, so I might top over 15k steps today 💪🏻. I would love to see a 10 on the start of the scales before the end of the week.

So happy and not at all jealous for you! In my head I should be a 14 by now, because last time I lost a lot of weight that happened and I'm ignoring that my starting weight was far higher this time 😂 I've got some really fine knit jumpers that fit size 14 me that I'm really hoping might fit by the time the weather drops.

Keep going! You’ve got this 💪

NSV time.
I ordered a dress from Aspigia. They have a size guide where you enter measurements etc and it came up with a size 14, so I took the plunge and that's what I ordered. When it came I held it up and thought, no way am I going to squeeze into that narrow thing. Well, Holy Moly! Not only did it fit but there was no VPL or unsightly bulges, and it is quite a slim-fitted style. It looks stunning and will be perfect for Autumn/Winter. SIZE 14!! In a proper fashion brand! I have not been a size 14 EVER!

I might just go and put it back on again and admire myself in the mirror!

I've also ordered new pants & new bras (for the second time on this WLI journey), and I spent the weekend adjusting & taking in quite a few summer skirts and dresses that I only bought a few months ago.

Meanwhile, I keep smiling to myself.... Size 14!!!

🥳🥳🥳 I love this!

Next stop Gucci…😉

Morning all.
listening to ourselves and not everyone else is an excellent skill to work on during this time.

I wish my scales would listen to me. Weight is up again this morning. I’ve been bouncing these 2kg for weeks and it’s really annoying. I’m not going to move up a dose until after my holiday as suppression is still high and side effects have only just eased off.

Did 3 long(for me) walks this weekend 3-6 miles each and didn’t get too worn out, some of the uphills were tough but I got through without much fuss. Huge progress from a year ago.
I did have wine on 3 days, horrible allergic reactions to the cats, and a lovely meal out where I only ate 3 chips from the shared side. So balance?

Hope everyone has a lovely week. The heat has hit me in London already and I’ve snuck off to lie in front my fan for a few minutes between calls.

Keep going! You are doing so well. I think as we come towards the tail end of our WLI journeys, bouncing around will be inevitable. Great job on the long walks though especially in this heat!

@SerenePeer how do you look/ feel in your current weight? What's really strange to me is that I was 10st when I was 20, but the clothes from that era are getting too big for me now?! I certainly have more muscle now then back then, but I feel like I must have had more inflammation and water retention due to hormones etc around then. I'm aiming for 9st 7 as it also gives me some safety net, if I start gaining again, I'll hopefully notice before my BMI is over 25 again. My goals is to never be overweight again.

@MagnoliaTreePetals Yes, I agree with your points, it's very individual. Even listening to some of the Zoe podcasts, nutrition is not 'one size fits all'. For example, I tried keto, and it made me feel nauseous and unable to eat anything, whereas my partner felt great, had lots of energy and lost weight on it.

We have to remember that nutrition is very much an evolving field, and research changes all the time. Not even the scientists have it all figured out.

Feel like for the first time in my life, I am listenining to my body, and no longer having issues like bloating, water retention, feeling lethargic etc. That's because I am no longer following society's prescribed way of eating. If we think about it, say you're at a party, saying no to a particular food or drink, for example, isn't socially acceptable - for example if everyone is having pizza and wine, and you don't fancy it. So, screw the rules and being socially palatable, I've decided that from now on, I'll feed my body what it's asking for.

I work with a woman who's a big foodie, size 6, and constantly criticising my meals. Literally daily. How much I eat, what I eat, if it's too healthy, not healthy enough... She used to do that when I was obese, and she's doing it now, not just to me, but everyone. People like that are literally the reason adults have EDs.

Bloody hell! How rude is your colleague? I’m a massive foodie, and I was a massive size! There is no way that anyone is a true foodie and is a size 6.😂 sounds to me as if she has definitely got an ED. I think the The old M N favourite.” did you mean to be so rude?” Applies here for sure.

I agree with the sentiment to feed your body what it’s demanding, and to please yourself. I love a good PizzaExpress pizza, but I couldn’t think of anything worse than someone trying to give me Domino’s so I definitely would not feel awkward turning it down!

I’ve been off MJ for 7 weeks. I can’t lie and say it’s easy, and I’m definitely hungrier but I am maintaining my weight loss, so far.

I keep my calories to 1500 and my steps to 15000 as a guide. But yesterday I ran 10K and celebrated with a FULL medium pizza and wine. I will need to be more careful the rest of the week I’m sure. But balance!

That definitely sounds like balance to me! 👏💪

Hi everyone so thrilled to read of everyone’s success stories! I seem to have stalled at 9st 12 but I’m happy with that since I started at 14 stone. Anyway … I thought I’d escaped the hair loss problems but have really starting noticing it in the last month or so 🤦‍♀️ I’m taking Biotin growth tablets and a multi vitamin but think it might be time for collagen. It’s so confusing tho as there’s SO many brands and types out there. Does anyone have any recommendations please? Xx

I’m taking the enhanced revive collagen sachets. It’s hydrolysed marine collagen in a hybrid drink/gel format. Taste of tropical fruits, not unpleasant. Conversely, the reviews for absolute collagen all mention the dreadful taste. I take it with a vitamin C gummy to aid absorption. I found the cheapest place to purchase is Holland and Barrett. It’s not a cheap option, but my hairdresser confirms I have growth all over my scalp, and the guy who does my nails has commented on how strong my nails have been since taking it. They sell this in packets of 14 or 28, so I usually stack the deal with whichever one is cheapest. Quite often on H&B, they have an in app discount which can be as much as 25% and you can stack that deal on top of 3 for 2 etc. It’s just purchasing a box of 14 to check you like the taste before actually committing. The best offers seem to be around payday.

Congratulations on you wedding @Mounjaropen

I have gone up a dose this week and starting to feel suppression for the first time in a while. Losing weight very slowly now - I hope it doesn't stop as only just in healthy BMI range (although that is of course amazing).

In other news, just reporting back that hair is definitely feeling thicker - I have been using the Nioxin for about 6 weeks.

MyRootinTootinBaby · 13/08/2025 09:24

Congratulations on the wedding @Mounjaropen I’m pleased you had a lovely day!

Goldleafcat · 13/08/2025 09:47

Huge congratulations on your wedding @Mounjaropen! ❤️

All the best for your DH’s recuperation and hopefully the op will help immensely.

Goldleafcat · 13/08/2025 09:57

Morning all!

I’ve been quiet for a bit, my horrible back pain reared its ugly head again about 10 days ago. The physio suspects it may be an underlying issue like a prolapsed disc. Thankfully it has since eased a lot and I’m feeling a lot more able to move and in less pain. An MRI is a possibility but will see what the work health insurance people have to say. Not overly keen on the surgery route if I can avoid it (especially after reading an interesting article about a lady who had disc issues and has managed her problems with Pilates) (apparently she felt she ruined her back with too much extreme yoga but I suspect she had an issue before that).

Not weighed myself for a bit (partly because I couldn’t face leaning over to move the scales, but also because it wasn’t the main thing on my mind). Have however been eating relatively well and continuing with the jabs. Think will brave it tomorrow to see where the land lies!

I had an annoying dream last night where I was meant to be going to an event that evening but for some stupid reason I hadn’t selected an outfit so was having to quickly try to find something to wear (in River Island!) (obv after seeing it in the news?!) and everything was too small or too long (I’m a short leg despite being 5,6ft) and all my horrible weight / being too fat to fit into anything anxiety came back. Definitely convinced I do NOT want to end up back in that situation. Still a few stone to go though!

2025istheyeari · 13/08/2025 11:01

Mounjaropen · 13/08/2025 08:01

Aww great to hear from you! How’s it all going?

Thank you! I’ve lost 5 stone 4 pounds since 1/1. In healthy weight range BMI🎉 ideally want to lose 6 more pounds to take me to 23 BMI and then titrating down. I’m definitely staying on MJ, it’s an absolute miracle death jab!!

Oceangrey · 13/08/2025 12:25

My 12.5mg pen should arrive today.
I'm finally at 2.5st loss (19% previous weight), and overall that's under a lb a week since I started (35lb, 39 weeks). However, it's skewed from the really slow last three months, before that it was a solid 1.5lb a week.

Overall I'm pretty happy with how I look and feel now even if still overweight so it doesn't really matter if it's a slow process, but I still feel going up a dose is justified as I'm really quite hungry at the moment. I'm just apprehensive about eventually going back down again.

MagnoliaTreePetals · 13/08/2025 16:44

Many, many Congratulations to both of you @Mounjaropen . Lovely to hear about your happy wedding, and fantastic that your DH is doing well after his surgery. What a roller coaster for you!

So sorry @Goldleafcat that you are haveing back problems. My DH slipped a disc and tried the physio/exercise route for a while (Not very enthusiastically though!) before having surgery. He made a 100% recovery, no problems at all. Also, a really close friend slipped 2 discs at the same time and had to have surgery straight away, again, no problems and great recovery. However, I do hope the Yoga route is successful for you. We all want to avoid surgery if we can.

Wow @2025istheyeari losing well over 5 stone, you have lived up to your username. Congratulations!

jay55 · 13/08/2025 21:10

@Mounjaropenso glad the wedding went without a hitch and you had a lovely day.

I too forgot to jab Monday, switching to evening isn’t good if I just forget, so back to mornings now.

Suppression hit this evening, I swear it always comes up strongest when I’ve made the effort to cook something full of veg and good stuff. Oh well it’ll make a nice lunch tomorrow.

Cantbesure · 13/08/2025 22:11

Congratulations to our newly wed leader @Mounjaropen so pleased to hear you had a lovely and chilled wedding day. Sounds like you needed it with your DH surgery. Glad it’s all going well. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

im in a hungry phase right now. I made the mistake of buying a cheese and marmit loaf from an artisanal bakery. It’s delicious. I need to teach myself how to enjoy nice treats without it spiralling into a binge. And I’ve not run so far this week as it’s so hot.

10 stone 13lbs !!!!! Finally the scales reading starts with a 10 so I am ringing a new stone bracket klaxon 🔔📣🔔📣🔔📣🔔📣💥

one more 1lb to hit 5 stone.

buzzing and now off for my morning walk

evilharpy · 14/08/2025 09:35

My ears! That klaxon is LOUD Grin congrats @Pumpkinforever

evilharpy · 14/08/2025 09:40

@Goldleafcat sorry to hear you are suffering with your back, there is just nothibg worse. I hope it doesn't get to this stage but I had disc surgery for a herniated disc that caused crippling sciatic pain (literally - I couldn't walk, sit, sleep, drive or function as a human for many months and it was the start of my weight gain). The surgery was life changing, very straightforward recovery and I have had no pain whatsoever since. Of course you don't want surgery if you can avoid it but don't panic too much if you do endnup with an MRI that indkcates it might be necessary x

Weighing in day, except that my scales broke and am now having to use different ones.
They show the same weight as the old ones did last week, so I'm accepting it as staying the same, although I feel like I might have lost some. So, still tantalisingly close to 5 stone loss, but not there yet.

SW 16.5
CW 11.6 1/2
TWL 4st, 11 1/2lb
(GW 11.2)

Yesterday I had another 'OOOH you've lost weight..... you haven't been taking those weight loss injections have you?' from someone who is barely even an acquaintance (we go to the same church where I also volunteer quite a bit).
I've realised it's just not 'me' to tell them they are being rude. So I ignore the question and talk enthusiastically about my healthy life style. I think having an answer ready is the key thing. The first couple of times I just didn't know what to say!

Great, great news @MontyJinks , I hope you have fun celebrating your double victory. Quite a few family members and Godchildren have been to Durham over the years and it is a great place to study.

Goldleafcat · 14/08/2025 13:20

Thank you @MagnoliaTreePetals and @evilharpy for the kind thoughts about my back issues. That is really reassuring to hear about the successful surgeries. You may both be right that surgery may have to be the long term solution. I think until I get an MRI we won’t know, so will see what next steps are suggested and take it from there.
