Welcome to thread 12 fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we enjoy a far more comfortable Summer significantly lighter. We now wear ALL the damn shorts 💪🏻

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W35 D2 and on my fourth 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 10.6lbs
GW 9st 7lb
Total loss so far 56.4 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Gah!

I just rang them I'm not in their system at all...despite having done the call. I'm now back in the loop to pay the £5 fee alll over again...I wouldn't mind but I've emailed them twice about this since then!

I must just be very unlucky....!

That’s not good!! I wonder if things are a bit amiss following their audit. I’ve used the online portal with a query and it didn’t get picked up. I’ve sent an email and got a short response to let them know when my GP has reviewed my situation.

I’m currently being referred to haematology so I wouldn’t go back on MJ until I’ve been thru the next step of assessment at the very least. But I’m disappointed this isn’t really the individual service they sell themselves on.

Goldleafcat · 23/07/2025 14:57

Yes I’ve spotted a few disparaging threads on Reddit about Oushk lately, citing the recent inspection (which didn’t go well) and subsequent enforcement action. I’m sure I read something about them reviewing how they will approach maintenance but not sure what the next steps are. To be fair to them they’ve grown rapidly in a short space of time and they’ve been brave addressing the whole maintenance topic (which is being clearly ignored by other providers, frustratingly!). I do have a call booked for early September. I won’t be ‘maintenance ready’ by then but probably worth having a chat (and will see what develops in the next month or so in terms of their approach).

I’m going to message Boots too to ask what they are considering for maintenance. Everything I’ve seen to date indicates they’ve not really explored it but hopefully that may have changed. If it looks like Oushk may be a no go will look at Medexpress, as I think they prescribe until a relatively low ish healthy BMI? (I’m still 27.3, and that’s in just a pair of knickers first thing in the morning, so a way to go!).

I definitely do the bonus dose - use a syringe. Don’t worry about bubbles etc, give it a few moments and they settle down. You should tap and prime the syringe just like with the pen. Just be careful to calculate what you’ve extracted before injecting it. I’ve had a number of ‘free’ pens thanks to it (thankfully, because Boots are not cheap!).

Medexpress definitely allowed me 7.5mg last month - but I had to up my weight a bit to get over 23.8 (if I recall).

I've managed to sort Oushk out on the phone. Don't bother with the email/messaging service, it's a shit show of ineptitude. Phone wasn't much better at first - wrong information provided by the agent. It turns out If you have been through the maintenance consultation, you are 'an existing patient' not a 'transfer patient'.... Be warned though, you need to provide evidence of your HEIGHT! So I have just been dicking about in my kitchen with a builder's measuring tape hanging from the door and one of the kids tripod phone holders set up in front of me whilst I set the timer for a long selfie. The result was NOT glamorous 😂

anyway, I've ordered a 5.0mg as I am going to start the process of tapering down....My plan is to stay on as many pens of the same strength coming down as going up. Not sure if that is best, but makes sense to me!

Yes - I seem to have had a similar experience.

How are you feeling? All ok?

Genuine pulling pants! Haha. Although a bit like Bridget Jones knickers, perhaps they’re designed to be felt but not seen! Unless the person you’re pulling has a thing for Tour de France!

I’d say full body, I got the strapless body suit (comes with detachable straps) with cycling short type bottoms, all in one piece. It smoothed absolutely everything out, made the body look and feel really firm and added shape to the bottom. Stays up dancing all night, too, which I didn’t actually expect, and even the treaded ‘how do you go to the bathroom with this’ part works fine. Even with my stomach relaxed, or sitting down, it looked like I had a killer waist.

As a shapewear veteran of 20 years I was impressed. Other shape wear has always disappointed in some way.

Not a fan of shape wear separates, in case they dig in, or slide down somewhat to create bulge at the waist.

If you want the bum, I’d say cycling short/ boxer bottom length or longer.

For example this one here I’d imagine goes well with most dresses. Look at the bum area on the picture… my candle wax bum looks not to far from it in this!

I’d wear a bra underneath as it doesn’t supports breasts quite as well.

Gosh, I’m now worried about some of you buying this and coming back with complaints of how it doesn’t work 😇 I do believe UK retailers do refunds on these.

Off to peruse the shape wear! I'm looking for something like that but one that doesn't have a vest over the bra as they tend to squish my bazookas into a really weird shape.

I am now getting shape wear adverts having also had a look. Anyone know what is the reason for the one-legged variety? (perplexed but intrigued)

Thigh split dress maybe?

Oh good idea thank you!

LindtCurves · 23/07/2025 18:35

@Goldleafcat MedExpress supply til 23.5 (there’s a link somewhere to back that up). I’m under 25 now and received an order recently.

jay55 · 23/07/2025 19:02

From what you’re all saying, stockpiling is the way to go and count clicks to taper off. I’m still obese so plenty of time to prepare.

Jellybaby30 · 23/07/2025 21:26

Pumpkinforever · 23/07/2025 12:58

@Jellybaby30 I am between a 14 and 16 depending upon make. If I can get into a 12 of any make (excluding Zara 😂) I will be delighted.

An excellent goal! 14 is my dream so we'll chase that and 12 🤞

Jellybaby30 · 23/07/2025 21:30

LindtCurves · 23/07/2025 13:41

I just twisted the pen with my left hand. After initial resistance it twisted out pretty smoothly, without the clicking noise, but the dial still shows how much you’re injecting.

I did previously try the needle but the liquid ended up with bubbles in it so I decided against injecting it! Not sure how it took me 8 months to work out how to ‘break the pen’ 🤣

There are some YT videos to help.

Great to hear how this worked and will try at end of current pen. I did try the hard twist over Xmas but it didn't work so I didn't attempt again.

Jellybaby30 · 23/07/2025 21:32

I've always been with Asda, I emailed Re maintenance a few months ago and got a cut and paste reply which basically said I could keep using it to maintain a normal BMI around 22-23 for as long as I wanted as some like to come off completely and some like to use it to maintain steadily for a while so I'm hopeful they'll let me do that. But I won't be maintaining til December / Jan time so who knows

From what you’re all saying, stockpiling is the way to go and count clicks to taper off. I’m still obese so plenty of time to prepare.

This may have to be a solution depending on how things go!

I’m bit scared of maintenance without it, after losing weight in the past and piling it back on. But I do know and understand more, and realise the amount of calories I need to eat each day is dramatically lower than I previously anticipated. Not that I want to encourage disordered eating, but I must remember Kate Moss’s quote that ‘nothing tastes as good as skinny feels’, at least in moderation!

morning everyone,

Weekly weigh in on 4.1mg dose..

week 36
SW 18st 4.3lbs
CW 14st 9.9lbs
1 lb loss this week
total loss so far 3 stone 8.4lbs
I have lost 20% of my starting weight
SBMI 43
CBMI 35.2
Step count is considerably down this week to 58,472 😩

I am half way there…
From my starting weight to reach healthy BMI I have to lose 100lbs and I now officially have less to lose than I have lost.
Currently lost 50.8 lbs, 49.2lbs to go.

NSV this week, In December 2024, I had to buy a warm black jacket for a funeral, My go to for jackets was FatFace as they do size 24 jackets which is what I needed at this time. And the fit was very snug!
This week I ordered a size 18 Fatface jacket, and it’s going back as it’s too big . Imagine a size 18 being too big.

Also this week, I have lost 20% of starting weight.

Well done to everyone on the great losses and to those that have reached maintenance stage, we can do this. 💪

jay55 · 24/07/2025 08:51

@lovealongbath brilliant progress. Well done getting over the half way point and for smaller sizes. It’s a real thrill when a target size is too big.

DarkForces · 24/07/2025 10:01

I've had my id, height and weight verification call with Oushk. I sellotaped a tape measure to the door frame which was a bit of a faff but only took 2 mins. Maintenance call is booked for mid September so am trying to shift a bit more before then but I don't know if I'll ever be able to be fully off mj. I think I may be able to get down to 5 as I'm on 7.5 now.

random223 · 24/07/2025 10:15

Fantastic news@lovealongbath. 50lbs is epic!!

Well that deserves the 20% loss klaxon

📣🔔📣🔔📣🔔

and well done on the smaller size jacket!

And talking of 20% off, Trinny London has a 20% sale at the moment for those who might need the Elevator product that I love.

And I also into the See The Light moisturiser with an SPF of 50.

Post holiday weigh in

SW 16.5
CW 11.12
loss over the holiday 4lb!!!
Also achieved:
Total loss 4.5 stone
New stone level. I can see an 11 on the scales for the first time in 34 years!

2lb away from a healthy BMI.

Absolutely flipping delighted!
On previous holidays I have come back unable to fit into clothes I had taken with me, this time I have come home slimmer.
Swimming lengths 20 minutes every day, no bread and nothing with sugar in; but plenty of wine, cheese and other tuscan treats, I even had pasta twice. I had a wonderful time, did not feel at all deprived or 'on a diet'.
All hail the support of Mounjaro!
