Welcome to thread 12 fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we enjoy a far more comfortable Summer significantly lighter. We now wear ALL the damn shorts 💪🏻

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W35 D2 and on my fourth 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 10.6lbs
GW 9st 7lb
Total loss so far 56.4 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Love the 80s salad talk. I’m sure ours would have had quiche. Or a pork pie. 😂

sorry to hear you aren’t feeling good @PinkArt I would go and talk to your gp. I went for bloods yesterday and will go back for a review this week. Omeprazole has helped mine but I’d like to understand what causes it. I sent oushk a message on their new website asking for drs advice but not had a response.

in good news after weeks of my weight creeping up I’m half a pound down today. I have felt it get slightly easier towards the end of this week. I’ve changed MFP back to weight loss but I’m being more flexible on eating back my exercise calories which gives me a bit more scope to deal with hunger. It’s 4 weeks now since my last jab. Shotsy estimates I have 0.38mg left in my system! Next weekend it will all have gone.

1/2 a lb is better than me this week, so I’d take that.

Hope the bloodwork comes back with no issues for you. 💐

I’m chuffed to bits with 0.5lbs. Makes me feel like maybe I can navigate life without MJ after all. Thanks for your good wishes @Mounjaropen

apparently tinned pots are great in the air fryer.

Has anyone else tried a smart bmi calculator that takes into account your age etc? I just googled one and it think my weight is spot on and no health benefits to losing more. BMI is 24.3 and I was aiming to reduce a bit more but I'm having a think as I am looking and feeling good 🤔

I’ve been reading this page for months and finally I feel I can add significant news….

47 year old female
SW 16.4 18/11/24
CW 13.3 01/07/2025
Goal weight - was 13.5 now 13 stone. Slowwwww and steady 😊

The main thing is though that I’ve just bought a pair of size 12 jeans! What the actual??! I am 5’8 and was pushing an 18 at the start of my journey, I haven’t been a size 12 in 20 years! For the past 4 months I’ve also been hitting the gym pretty hard and my insides are catching up with my outsides (according to the body scanner at the gym).

Hair loss has become a thing over the past couple of months (on quality collagan and iron supplements) and I’ve lost my lovely boobs and round backside, in constant glutes classes trying to build it back up though 💪🏻

Stayed on 2.5 for around 2 months and then 5 the rest of the time, pushed to a 6.25 last week and the suppression is still very strong, although I’m where I want to be I will definitely be on some form of Mounjaro for life, be it a micro dose or a few months on off, absolute wonder drug.

Well done everyone ⭐️⭐️

I’ve put just over 1lb on over the last two weeks (it has been my birthday though and I haven’t held back on the treats 🥳)

Just injected my first 7.5, slightly worried as don’t want side effects to floor me but on the whole this journey has been smooth so hoping for the same 🤞🏻

Weight at 13.4 from 16.5 exactly 8 months ago, would really like to see a 12 stone somethjng purely as it’s been yearsssss since I have 😊

I have had a knicker drawer cull of too big knickers. Thigh skin is best ignored other than when it makes it tricky finding a spot to stick my HRT patch onto. Upper arm skin is very flappy and loose, but sod it - I'm getting my arms out anyway. Marine collagen gummies may be helping, and I have also been using Gold Bond Neck & Chest Firming Cream for around 6 weeks now, which has made a real visible difference to that area.
I wore actual knickers all week post-drawer cull instead of bike shorts. And no chub rub.

That’s a good idea. I think the older you get it's advisable to be slightly up than down on BMI. 25 is my dream goal but if I even up at 26 or 27 I don’t mind as that’s a lot better than 42 where I started!

BlueWalker · 19/07/2025 12:35

I just posted a weekly update so not sure why it's triggered a hide post function! TLDR - I'm down 5 stone finally.

DarkForces · 19/07/2025 12:38

Disappointed with the lack of controversial content in your previous post @BlueWalker . Thought you'd gone rogue! Congratulations on your fantastic loss. Brilliant work 🥳

Pumpkinforever · 19/07/2025 12:42

In that case @BlueWalker have a 5 stone klaxon!

Where’s the laugh emoji button when you need it? 😂

I’m flattered, but the OG is most definitely the Patron Saint of 50 year old women everywhere - arise St Jennifer of Aniston… with her fabulous arms and absolutely banging body (swapping bodies with hers is one of my 3 genie in a bottle wishes because I am dead shallow😂)

Can I just be curious and ask, why Jennifer Aniston? Off the back of this post I did some googling and found out she's the 'most wanted' body shape amongst women! And back in the day everyone wanted her haircut, of course...

Is it that she looks amazing at every age? Or that she looks athletic and open about putting work into achieving the shape she has? Does that body shape seem more relatable/ achievable as she's toned rather than born looking in a certain way and milking it? She certainly has a lot going for her, but I never realised she was as popular as she is!

If I could swap bodies with someone, it would be Sofia Vergara... And I've decided I'd love to look like Salma Hayek at 60 😇

I think you answered your own question 😆. St Jennifer of Aniston is super honest about the amount of exercise it takes to look like that (she works out 7 days a week). But on here I was waxing lyrical about why I chose Pvolve and it was only because St Jen had posted about it on Instagram. Hence the love for her on here. Plus, have you seen her arms? 😍 😂

It’s probably the only time I’ve ever been ‘influenced’ but only because St Jen does not sell herself out for a dollar at every opportunity and does seem to only attach herself to stuff she really believes in. And dear reader, the Pvolve does work. I’ve never had a flat tummy in my life nor lovely arms. And now I do. I mean, the arms are a bit flabby but they are passable and right now, I’ll take that! 💪

I’d also take Amanda Holden’s body. Which Tbf is absolutely banging also. And relatable.

Sofia Vergara/Salma Hayek are beautiful and who wouldn’t want to look like that? but in my mind, they both have bodies they were blessed with rather than work hard at to achieve. A bit like ‘why French women don’t her fat’ type myths (spoiler alert they don’t inhale everything made by cadburys after stopping for petrol 😂) a misconception most likely I guess...Salma/Sofia probably spend hours in the gym but never post about it on IG. And French women aren’t portrayed as driving so never have to stop for petrol and run the gauntlet of ‘2 for £1.80’ on the twirl displays (it’s always a twirl that gets me).

I also now drive an electric car 😂

Interesting. I’ve never heard of that but it makes sense. My neighbour is on MJ but has stopped way before me in terms of losses because she’s prioritising how she looks over weight goals which I admire. She’s shorter than me and is happy at 10st 3 because in her words, ‘any more off and I look like I’ve been dug up’ 😂

I had a Caudalie facial yesterday and my skin is looking amazing this morning. I need to be richer so I can do it more often!

KentishMama · 20/07/2025 09:27

Holiday greetings to you all!

Being on an active, mountain-y holiday is definitely much easier when you're not massively overweight! I've averaged well over 10k steps each day, and I'm not even tired. Would like to do more hiking, but DH isn't quite fit enough for that (despite being 10 kg down on MJ by now, but BMI still in the 30s). DS and I are about to go rafting though, and this time I'm not so worried about getting into the wetsuit...

However - cheese! This area is famous for all its cheese dishes, and honestly, MJ with slower digestion plus copious quantities of cheese is not a great mix. Just in case any of you were considering a cheese fondue... Don't. Confused

in other news, I left my MJ at home - not on purpose, but we left at 4 am and I wasn't awake enough to remember to take it out of the fridge. Was due to inject today, and now I'll be six days late when I get home. I guess that will be an interesting science experiment? I'll do my best to stay on track.

Love to you all!

@KentishMama given we have been taking MJ since November hopefully there is enough in our system. 💪🏻

one of the things I will do next year is to get into a wetsuit - my DH and DD will shriek with delight at that. I have been too embarrassed and far too large for years to fight into a wet suit.

Oceangrey · 20/07/2025 12:01

Well I am now actually following the thread title and packing smaller sizes clothes for a holiday!

We're going to a resort with lots of sports included so the kids can do sailing and stuff, but although I plan to do a lot of lying down and reading I'm also going to join the pilates and whatever else is on offer for adults. But probably not any properly intense stuff because I'm not up for it in the heat.

Interesting Jennifer Aniston conversation. She's in great shape but I've never aspired to look like her. Probably because have a different body type.

My body is more like Kat Dennings or Christina Hendricks, very curvy, strong hourglass. So those are probably the celebrities I'd look at.

Do it, do it!

I still asked for a large size wetsuit because I was worried about getting into it, and it was super big on me. The instructor originally handed me a medium, and he was right!

Happy to announce that we survived. It was amazing!
