Welcome to thread 12 fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we enjoy a far more comfortable Summer significantly lighter. We now wear ALL the damn shorts 💪🏻

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W35 D2 and on my fourth 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 10.6lbs
GW 9st 7lb
Total loss so far 56.4 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Oh I’m the queen of fake tanning. DD’s mates ask her to text me when theirs goes tits up and I have to fix the situation 😂

Ha ha!!! Teach me your ways!! I'm allergic to DHA annoyingly but I think ive found a naturally sourced DHA that I can tolerate without scratching my skin off....now I just need to make it less patchy!

PinkArt · 11/07/2025 19:03

Thank you! What crazy is that losing weight seems to make me much less healthy, at least in the short term. Both times I've lost significant amounts I've had a pulmonary embolism and last time I also needed my gallbladder removed. This time I've got a grumbly ovary, although that's far more likely to be peri related and my dusty lady bits, and this week weird tummy aches.
It's why I always roll my eyes about all those disingenuous posters who say they're just 'concerned' about the fatties health on the WLI threads that get heated. I only seem to visit the hospital when I'm 'getting healthier'!

That is an odd situation to find yourself in! Hope your ovary cheers up soon.

None of it makes any sense! It's a very odd thing to be feeling overall soooo much healthier, other than the seriously not healthy thing going on.

Meep. My dress arrived. My size 10 dress.

I tried it on and it fits beautifully! My new to me size 10 dress fits me!! Do we have a size 10 dress klaxon? Can someone check the klaxon cupboard for me please?

Did I mention my dress is a size 10? I double checked the label just to make sure 😂 Size 10 skinny bitches!! 🥳🥳🥳

Yahoo!!! Size 10 klaxon ringing here from the holiday home in North Wales! (It’s still boiling! I’m pretending I’m in Italy!)

Ooh please share your tips and recommended products!

I do not tan at all and only turn red (Irish / Scottish). I’ve been using San Tropez Purity most recently and with the best results but always keen to hear recommendations!

@PinkArtwhen my dad gave up smoking he promptly developed asthma and diabetes. I swear sometimes our bodies just hate us being healthier.

Oceangrey · 11/07/2025 23:26

Win of the day, size 12 pants from M&S now fit, in the same Brazilian style that I used to wear in a 16!

Oceangrey · 11/07/2025 23:29

Ok question on injecting and going abroad ..
I'll use one dose from a new one, then head away for a couple of weeks. Given the pens can be out of the fridge once opened, can I just take it plus needles etc in my hand luggage?
I do usually keep them in the fridge anyway but understand it's not necessary.

Oh jeez. That's shit for your dad but I'm quietly relieved it's not just me!

Yes do put it in your hand luggage. I got a Frio cool pack from Amazon to keep my pen cool in transit. It was great. I used it twice now - India and France. I put my needles and swabs into the prescription box.

Dubai/Abu Dhabi/Oman is the best place to take young children. I know it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but it’s an Easy flight, fantastic healthcare (one of ours developed chicken pox on the day we arrived there 😱 but the hotel was wonderful reorganising staff/rooms etc) and everything is geared up for families out there. Strollers placed at the airport for you to use until you get your own one back, Kids included in all the restaurants, amazing staff who want mum and dad to have a rest too. It was my go to when the kids were little. Obviously very hot this time of year, but worth bearing in mind. Also a great place if you are not able bodied as everywhere is step free/lifts/wide doorways etc.

Thank you, this is lovely to hear.

Mounjaropen · 12/07/2025 08:59

I decided to pay for premium me360 so I could compare my scans. I'd never have heard of it without this thread so first scan was about 6 weeks in and latest is healthy BMI. I look so much tidier!

My weight gain and dehydration bloat theory appears to have been correct.
Thursday I was 10st 9,
Friday (after upping fluids and calorie counting) I was 10st 8 - right direction and motivated to keep going.
Carried on drinking fluids and eating carefully for another day.
Saturday (today) period has started and I’m back to 10st 4.

wtf? My weight fluctuations are a lot aren’t they?

That is a lot. I agree. Hormones maybe?

Some of us definitely bloat more than others, especially when hormones are involved.

jay55 · 12/07/2025 14:13

Accepting hormones can really fuck with a calorie deficit has been quite freeing. Riding it out can be frustrating but it is easier to trust the process on mj. Rather than taking on more blame and increasing the shame cycle.

I’ve used them for years but suddenly found I’m a bit itchy! Could you share which one you’ve found that you don’t react to? My brother’s wife is allergic too so I’ll pass it to her as well! X

KentishMama · 12/07/2025 18:34

Sorry, ladies, I'd momentarily mislaid you!

Just checking in. Still hovering around 70.5kg/ BMI 23, and I think that seems to be the weight my body wants to be at. I'm losing and regaining the same 300 grams over and over again. I'm wearing a size 10 on top and 12 bottom, and I'm very happy with this situation.

Going to France for two weeks tomorrow. Mountains, hiking etc. first, and then a few days in Paris for sightseeing and shopping. I can't wait to get away.

One weird thing: I've had really bad shin issues. Basically a random flare-up of perioral dermatitis, probably ironically brought on by my attempts to do more for my skin and try new cosmetics... It's been pretty horrid and I'm now on heavy duty antibiotics to shift it!

KentishMama · 12/07/2025 19:14

Skin issues! Skin! Not shin. I wouldn't care about spotty shins, I don't think...
