Welcome to thread 12 fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we enjoy a far more comfortable Summer significantly lighter. We now wear ALL the damn shorts 💪🏻

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W35 D2 and on my fourth 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 10.6lbs
GW 9st 7lb
Total loss so far 56.4 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

@PinkArtwooohoooo.
Also I do get tummy pains, it’s usually wind or an express exit required. I feel like a barrel or blow up bed some days.

Yay for all those hitting new stone brackets and goals and slinky clothes.

Im down to 83kg today, a good kilo off this week after a slow fortnight.
So I believe im close to being into the 12s, maybe next week.
Side effects have mostly buggered off. Thank goodness. Have lots of new clothes arrived today. Will wait til it cools down to try them on as I’m so sweaty.

CW:15st 3lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
3rd GW: 13st 9lbs

Second goal weight hit 🥳

I've set the next one as it'll put me back into Just Overweight plus it's 6 stone down. It's beyond depressing that I got myself to 6 stone above overweight but that's in the past now. Onwards and downwards.

Has anyone had any tummy pains while they've been on mounjaro? Mine has felt odd for a few days and I'm trying to talk myself off the ledge that it's pancreatitis or bowel cancer.

I doubt it is either but I understand your fear as I am a natural catastrophist….but instead of hunger pangs, I get a pain. Could it be that? Maybe you could try drinking more water and ensuring you eat at regular intervals for the next few days?

@PinkArt I did have tummy pains a couple of weeks ago, it was in my upper stomach. Lasted a few days and it did freak me out. As I was on 15mg I reduced to 12.5mg and the pain went. I did start iron supplements at the start of this week which gave me almost identical pains but when I stopped taking them, again the pain went.

Sounding the healthy bmi klaxon 📣🔔📣🔔📣🔔

what pen level are you on? Think I need to go up one.

I'm at 7.5. Weight loss has slowed in the last month but got strict with booze as my units had crept up. Bam 4lb off in a week after 2 weeks of stasis!

I’ve been to my lovely GP today. They followed up on the question with the Gynae hub I raised about oral Progesterone and taking MJ. They kindly printed the advice they received and I’m sharing it with you here in case it is of some use to anyone else. We are very blessed with this surgery!

Interesting. I'm not on her but do need my mirena replaced when I can face it (never). I have had an endometrial ablation so don't have an endometrium to protect though!

Love this! That’s my plan too (after this week away, anyway!).

100% Booze was my main issue with my weight gain. I need to develop strategies to manage this when I am tapering off.

4lbs is a fab result!

Worth chatting through if you are ever prescribed Oestrogen

Yes. You're right. I've had decades suffering with periods. Won't go into details but it was bad and probably had a lot to do with my weight gain. I've been loving not having to think about it but will keep an eye on news in this area

PinkArt · 11/07/2025 13:39

Thanks @jay55, @Mounjaropen & @Invisablepanic . I definitely spiral with stuff like this and did it the last time I had a pulmonary embolism too - if something serious has gone wrong I get very quickly to everything serious must have gone wrong. And I'm always convinced everything is cancer.
I have been very burpy this week so I'll work on de-gassing and see if that helps.

Collagen arrived. I was planning to have it in my morning coffee but just had it in an orange squash (still trying to up my fluid intake) and I couldn’t taste it. Out of interest, how soon did others notice a difference? I’m expecting it to take a month - is that realistic?

3 months for me tbf. But my hair and Nails have definitely benefitted!

Congratulations to everyone on their losses.

I lost 1lb this week - 1lb to go for a healthy BMI! Unbelievable really. Scales are a bit more wobbly than they were at the beginning in terms of going up and down 2 or 3 pounds though.

I am firmly in the 50s wobbly club. I was reflecting on this week as went to buy a new bra and felt horribly fat looking in the mirror. But 6 months ago I just couldn't look in a mirror so maybe that is a NSV in itself!

Well done on the pound off! We might be 50 and wobbly, but we're rocking that shit 😂

Look in ALL the mirrors now and bask in your hard work.

I'm just short of 58lbs loss which means I have had a calorie deficit of which is 203,000 calories I have not consumed vs old wino me.... That in itself is insane.

MJ has brought untold joy in my life that's for sure.

Happy Friday everyone! Quick update from me: I’m 1.2lbs down since this time last this week so 135.2lbs. My 2nd GW is 133lbs (9st 7lbs) so almost there. I’m considering if dropping below that nearer to 9st might improve my saggy skin situation or just make it worse? I don’t want to look ill but my theory is at that at some point autophagy must take over and start to tighten up the areas. Anyone got any thoughts? I’m about to start dry brushing next week on the advice of the RF specialist to improve skin elasticity so looking for a suitable brush. If anyone has any recommendations, do let me know!

At this rate, my daily skincare routine is gonna start going into hours rather than minutes 😂

I think if you continue with all your pvolve and healthy eating, your skin will continue to improve. Our bodies are pretty awesome. I mean, I know the stretch marks I have won't be erased but I do think the skin situation will eventually get better with good nutrition and working out

Goodness what a week we are all having, so many healthy BMIs popping up! Well done @DarkForces!

I've been having a shitty week side-effect wise (literally), it's been a few weeks since I had the bad runs but this week hasn't been great at all. It has impacted me being able to exercise and I had to cut a run short. I'm also still having suppression that's stronger than I would like and struggling to eat enough. I have one more 10mg pen in the fridge ready to start on Sunday and am really a bit behind in thinking what am I going to do about maintenance/switching provider, but I'm starting to think that I really need to start tapering down now to control the side effects even though I wouldn't mind losing a bit more.

I had a bit of a week like that last week but im sure there was a tummy bug in the mix too...the rest was my own doing from over indulging while away for the weekend! Hope your symptoms settle soon

@pinkart but you're now doing all you can to get healthy, so that's amazing. All of us in here were significantly overweight and classified as obese, just to different degrees. We're now all skinny bitches in comparison and that includes you!!

Morning all!

So lovely to hear of all the amazing achievements! Well done on the BMI victories!

I’ve managed to lose 3lbs this week. Wotsits and wine for dinner on Tuesday may have helped.

I am feeling a bit better in the tummy region. Off on holiday today (UK based) for a week. Same place we went last September, and had a lovely time. I was 4 stone heavier then which is quite strange to think about! I don’t feel hugely different in myself but I must be looking a bit different at least 🤭

I saw a lady at Pilates on Monday who I hadn’t seen in a few months. She told me I was looking really well (which I suspect is code word for ‘thinner’) but she also remarked at how much stronger I am too, which is really quite nice actually. So MJ hasn’t managed to ravage my muscles like the Daily Fail would have us all believe. I’ve actually improved my strength!

Enjoy the sun ☀️

Adds wotsits and wine to shopping list ✅️

Is there a better feeling on a hot day than putting on a dress and not worrying about a cardy (to hide behind, although it was fooling no one) normal underwear rather than shorts to pull you in and stop the chub rub. Freedom!

I'm so close to being in the 11's. This week I'm at 12st.1. Inching ever closer.

It's such a good feeling!! Strappy sundresses all round....I just need to improve my quite frankly abysmal fake tan application 😂

SerenePeer · 11/07/2025 18:44

Meep. My dress arrived. My size 10 dress.

I tried it on and it fits beautifully! My new to me size 10 dress fits me!! Do we have a size 10 dress klaxon? Can someone check the klaxon cupboard for me please?

Did I mention my dress is a size 10? I double checked the label just to make sure 😂 Size 10 skinny bitches!! 🥳🥳🥳

Thank you! What crazy is that losing weight seems to make me much less healthy, at least in the short term. Both times I've lost significant amounts I've had a pulmonary embolism and last time I also needed my gallbladder removed. This time I've got a grumbly ovary, although that's far more likely to be peri related and my dusty lady bits, and this week weird tummy aches.
It's why I always roll my eyes about all those disingenuous posters who say they're just 'concerned' about the fatties health on the WLI threads that get heated. I only seem to visit the hospital when I'm 'getting healthier'!
