Hi all, hope you are all well? I've just been working a lot including 2 contracted 3hr saturday shifts in 3 weeks on top of my mon-fri 37.5hr weeks and 2-3hr commutes! so I'm kinda wiped out most days. We've got less staff so ill be doing 1 in 4 saturdays next year, contract states 1 in 6 eugh.
Since last sunday i started reading a series by Rebecca Yarros called Fourth Wing, like hunger games with dragons, haven't been able to put it down, my tv hasnt even been turned on on evenings! seems im late to the party as many women out there have already read the whole series. I'm now on the second book.
anyway now its 3 full weeks on wegovy, due my 4th jab later today. I've had super strong suppression on 1.7mg, to me it's stronger than 10mg, without the background nausea and zapped energy.
This week it kicked in a gear with strength, they do say it builds up over a month or so. I have eaten small meals but not needed to snack.
Have lost 2lbs in 3 weeks on it and I'm now the lowest weight I've ever been in my life, at almost 44, 9st 1.9lbs 58.0kg bmi 22.9, got below the elusive bmi 23 for my ethnicity. Have officially lost 25kgs or 55lbs. Started at bmi 32.4 13st 1lbs prediabetic and high blood pressure.
My hair shedding has also stopped finally after 11.5months of it. As I switched over to wegovy it lessened and now its back to pre WLI loss, which isn't much. I do believe it was the mounjaro causing the excess hair loss as I'm probably eating even less than I was on mj and I am still losing weight. I've been on a higher protein low carb diet for over 9 months.
Yesterday I received good news from my blood test, my HBA1C fasting blood sugar is 37, this is in the normal range and has come down from 45 in sept 23 which was firmly prediabetic, only 3 away from diabetic. My cholesterol is at the top end of normal but it was over the normal range a few years before that. My blood pressure has gone from 145/92 to 110/60. I have heart disease and diabetes in my immediate and extended family, so the relief of my now normal bloods is immense.
Plan is to reduce the wegovy over time so I'm maintaining until I come off in spring, which by then I'll be exercising regularly. I'll probably split my next wegovy 1.7mg pen into 5 doses so I can eat a little more.
@Fizzleawayyy1 what did you wear in the end?
