update from me, I am at target and hovering up and down a couple of pounds which is fine, however I have a minor op booked and I have to stop jabbing! My safety blanket has been whipped away just before Xmas, it will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

You’ll be ok - you will probably feel more hungry so be prepared for that, just remember that’s normal! - make sure you fill up on veggies, drink loads of water and watch the portions. Try and avoid the carbs and sugar. Good luck with the operation. I hope you’ll be back up and running very soon.

MJ is your helper but you’re the one who’s made lots of lifestyle changes and you can keep those going.

Fizzleawayyy1 · 09/12/2025 13:00

Hows everyone getting on?

My xmas party is friday and I still dont know what to wear.

Carridoesntlivehereanymore · 10/12/2025 06:18

I had my maintenance call with Oushk yesterday. First of all, happy to report I actually managed to get both camera and microphone working on my phone this time and didn't have to organise a second call on WhatsApp like for my weight consultation. Anyway, atm I am going to stay on mj, currently on 5mg, and gradually reduce the dose and/or extend the time between jabs. I just need to fill in the maintenance form and there will be a follow up three months after that.

Longer term, I'd love to come off it but I'd love not to put the weight back on more so I will be staying on it for the foreseeable, at least, until I see how I am getting on back at lower levels. So far, nothing about mj has disagreed with me so I don't think I'll consider Wegovy.

Now, just Christmas to get through and not overdo it. Last year the mj journey was still new and exciting and I was trying so hard to lose that second stone before the new year. I didn't quite manage it but only missed by a few days. It's a bit more mundane now so easier to say oh ok just one then!! But how far have we all come since then?

How're all your plans going? I'm largely there on presents, the turkey is ordered and the cake is swimming in brandy, the front door wreath is made and just the decorations to go up this week. It'll be my first Xmas without my mum, her dementia struggle finally ended some months back, not sure how I feel about it all....

@Fizzleawayyy1 good luck finding the perfect outfit. You'll look amazing in almost any party number now

Histoscientist · 13/12/2025 11:19

Hi all, hope you are all well? I've just been working a lot including 2 contracted 3hr saturday shifts in 3 weeks on top of my mon-fri 37.5hr weeks and 2-3hr commutes! so I'm kinda wiped out most days. We've got less staff so ill be doing 1 in 4 saturdays next year, contract states 1 in 6 eugh.
Since last sunday i started reading a series by Rebecca Yarros called Fourth Wing, like hunger games with dragons, haven't been able to put it down, my tv hasnt even been turned on on evenings! seems im late to the party as many women out there have already read the whole series. I'm now on the second book.

anyway now its 3 full weeks on wegovy, due my 4th jab later today. I've had super strong suppression on 1.7mg, to me it's stronger than 10mg, without the background nausea and zapped energy.
This week it kicked in a gear with strength, they do say it builds up over a month or so. I have eaten small meals but not needed to snack.

Have lost 2lbs in 3 weeks on it and I'm now the lowest weight I've ever been in my life, at almost 44, 9st 1.9lbs 58.0kg bmi 22.9, got below the elusive bmi 23 for my ethnicity. Have officially lost 25kgs or 55lbs. Started at bmi 32.4 13st 1lbs prediabetic and high blood pressure.

My hair shedding has also stopped finally after 11.5months of it. As I switched over to wegovy it lessened and now its back to pre WLI loss, which isn't much. I do believe it was the mounjaro causing the excess hair loss as I'm probably eating even less than I was on mj and I am still losing weight. I've been on a higher protein low carb diet for over 9 months.

Yesterday I received good news from my blood test, my HBA1C fasting blood sugar is 37, this is in the normal range and has come down from 45 in sept 23 which was firmly prediabetic, only 3 away from diabetic. My cholesterol is at the top end of normal but it was over the normal range a few years before that. My blood pressure has gone from 145/92 to 110/60. I have heart disease and diabetes in my immediate and extended family, so the relief of my now normal bloods is immense.

Plan is to reduce the wegovy over time so I'm maintaining until I come off in spring, which by then I'll be exercising regularly. I'll probably split my next wegovy 1.7mg pen into 5 doses so I can eat a little more.

@Fizzleawayyy1 what did you wear in the end?

MJ is your helper but you’re the one who’s made lots of lifestyle changes and you can keep those going.

I’ve nearly managed a week, noticed I’ve been significantly more hungry over the last couple of days, portions have definitely increased. I have managed to keep to about 1400 cals a day and my weight has gone up by 1lb, but up and down by a couple of pounds is not out of the norm for me. I am looking forward to being able to jab again though, but do now know I could stretch the jabs to 10 days and be ok.

HansHolbein · 16/12/2025 18:04

I never came back, I’m an arsehole!

All fine here. Still maintaining around 8st. Food still bores the life out of me, to be honest. May drop down to 2.5 on my next order.

Is everyone excited for Christmas? What are your plans?

I finish work this Friday. My husband and children are going to the country for the weekend and I am going to blitz the house. Nobody is allowed in.

We’re hosting on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, which will be so much fun. I can’t wait to open the Baileys!

Is everyone getting on ok?

MOST IMPORTANTLY WHAT IS EVERYONE WEARING FOR CHRISTMAS DAY!

OP posts:
Taxiparent · 16/12/2025 18:51

I never know what to wear on Xmas day, I get too hot cooking, but don’t want to ruin anything ‘glam’! Back on the jab this morning and I am tempted to jab after 5 days as only had 5mg, tempted to top up with 2.5mg and then stretching out until after Xmas, still weighing it up.

HansHolbein · 19/12/2025 06:36

Know what you mean - I get boiling too. Might changed into my outfit once it’s all done and just before people arrive.

I jabbed yesterday. Not going to jab again until at least next Thursday. I get so full up so quickly. Last year I could barely eat anything and it ruined things.

Hello everyone. What a day for me, not only is it my birthday today but I also woke up and found I'd smashed my goal of 4st loss today! I had 0.4lbs left to lose from weighing thursday morning and went out for a meal for lunch at Tim Hortons, but still logged it all and just managed fridge raiders, handful of nuts and a mini doughnut on the evening so stayed within my cals.
I've had a busy day at work on my feet this week and wegovy is working wonderful, though its actually too strong, I struggle to eat anything over 1000 cals but i have way more energy and my hair loss has stopped.
Will split my next 1.7mg pen into 5 doses to lower the concentration. On wegovy so far I've lost 3lbs in 3 weeks, this was after a months stall on mj and a gain of 0.9lbs on my first week of wegovy. I carried on and then lost 3lbs, 1.4lbs this week, so I'm very happy. On mj I'd stalled for a month but also was unwell so was eating more.
My friend who stalled for 3 months on mj has started losing again on wegovy too even though she says she eats more food now.
I'm off work now until 29th December. Going to start an exercise routine from tomorrow to tone up.
Hope you are all well xx

Happy Birthday @Histoscientist, sounds like you have had a fabulous day all round! @HansHolbein I am still undecided over when to jab again, I’m maintaining now, and like you I do want to be able to eat over Xmas, last year was just a bit meh and I love my Xmas dinner!

Hi all, sorry I have been a disgrace not posting for so long. In my defence I wrote a long missive about 2 weeks ago and it bloody disappeared before I hit send.

Week 44 of maintenance
SW 12st 2lb
GW 9st 7lb (cushion 9st 2lb - 9st 7lb)
CW 9st 3lb.

Haven’t jabbed for close on 3 weeks as had this flu/lurgy going around, not 100% better but nearly there.
Not sure if I will jab before Christmas or leave it another week or so, I should really jab as been picking at chocolate etc but feeling quite meh as not putting weight on yet.

i am either wearing a red and black animal print Sosandar dress or a red Hobbs dress Christmas Day, both with black tights. Though I am going to my sisters for Dinner so don’t have to worry about being too hot etc.

Finally got my kitchen fitted and love it. Have no excuse not to prepare lots of healthy delicious food, unfortunately too easy to pick at bits this time of year, so may be a New Tears resolution.
Inspired by @Histoscientist I am going to give the Wegovy a try for maintenance when I run out of MJ.
Have a fab Christmas all.

HollyhockDays · 23/12/2025 19:05

Hello! So for various reasons including cost I’ve not jabbed for a few weeks.

Appetite came back with a vengeance - my tummy was rumbling like mad! I’ll have definitely put on a few lbs. I’ve a new pen coming next week and will see how I get on with that. I’d gone down to 2.5 and it was holding my weight steady.

I’d not lost much since June but have noticed a lot of hair loss that seems to have settled but it’s still a bit thin looking at the front. I’ve ordered some hair and me bit it says there will be a few weeks of increased loss before regrowth which I’m not keen on.

Hope everyone getting on well.

Well done on maintaining!
I'm around your weight now having just hit 4st 0.5lbs loss and started maintenance with plans on exercising every few days to build muscle and have a break from the 14.5 months of dieting! I've done one session for 35 mins body toning with dumbbells, over did it and been in agony 2 days, was out shopping fighting through the crowds today, will exercise again tomorrow. Have increased my cals so far doing around 1100-1225 a day, compared to 850-1000, due to my deficit of 1000, have also dropped my dose to 1.36mg by splitting my pen into 5 doses.
What are you doing to maintain?
Keep us posted on your wegovy experience and have a lovely Christmas X

Happy Christmas my lovelies! Second pen back on the old Mounjaro and great appetite suppression. I've only lost about 2lbs in 2 months but I have not gained and I'm in it for the long haul with 3 stone left to lose. Medexpress are a bit crap though. Had my BMI at 45!!!! I am 5'2" and just under 13 stone; they bombard me with email with check in surveys on how it's going every week and reminders to reorder 4 days after sending out pens. They sent 2 pens instead if one on my last reorder - no reply yet on what to do about this (I have only paid for one so far!). They also expect the dose to increase every month until maximum is reached. They would wouldn't they as the price goes up. I have put my foot down on that. I am on 10mg and happy on that so will not increase (never say never though).
Onwards and downwards!

I'd keep and use the extra pen, it's not your mistake and it can't be returned to be reused. They can't make you pay for it either as you never ordered it.

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 29/12/2025 08:40

Morning all

Happy belated Christmas to you all.

Just a quick update, my last jab was 27/10 and since then I have actually put on 1 stone 4 pounds. I am weighing every monday and not inbetween days.

I only put on 1 pound over xmas week, despite eating more than I would have on the jab, I have definitely eaten less than I would normally have done over xmas pre-jab.

My self imposed upper limit for my weight was 14 stone, and I am 14'1 so will go easy this week and see if I can shift it on my own before thinking definitely about starting wegovy. I still dont want to stay on for life, so if I start wegovy I need a plan to come off, so if I can shift this extra on my own, then I am hoping something has changed within me to be able to manage things.

My previous post about my body seeming to realise I had been starving myself and making up for it was possibly a little rash.

I am generally eating until I feel full, then stopping whereas prejab I would keep going. Despite all the Christmas treats kicking about, I am definitely not snacking as much as I used to, altho definitely more than when I was jabbing.

This is probably more of a dump for my thoughts than anything else, so am not sure there is a point as such to all this, but thank you if you have read it!

Happy new year and keep on going!

EVK · 29/12/2025 09:11

Happy Christmas everyone.
I forgot we share our birthday @Histoscientist glad you had a good one. I was working and shattered but had a good birthday weekend. I’ve not jabbed for about 6 months now!! I’ve eaten ‘really well’ over Christmas!!! As in way too
much, have noticed a bit of my old
inge habit creeping back in too over the last couple of evenings!! Fortunately, the damage is about 3-4lbs over the last couple of weeks so I really need to reign it back in now. Pre- Christmas I was doing really well so I know I can. I’ve just lost my head a bit with all
the food around. Last year, I hardly ate but now need to stop !! It’s mainly the. Sugar that’s pulling me although I did go crazy on Twiglets too 🤣😅🙈 Anyway - it’s been a blast and I’ve enjoyed it - now time to do what everyone has to at this time of year and STOP eating. I’ve not been tempted d to drink loads which is good and when I do have a few I feel so awful I don’t want to repeat it in a hurry. Ill report in my ability to sort out the over eating Christmas festivities! Still have New Year’s to get through. I did feel
fab on Christmas Day in my new dress from Whistles and the best Christmas present was how great I felt in my own body. Need to remind myself of that now every day, over and over so I stop the self sabotage!

Am I the only one here who’s not jabbing now? Are others maintaining with MJ or Wegovy ? I’m so tight for money post Christmas spending that I’m glad not to be forking out but boy appetite wise there’s a massive difference!! Vigilance is my new code word!! Help me ladies !! I need it!! Haven’t been calorie counting and I know that would be @Histoscientist’s advice so need to do it - just feels so boring !! But it’s now necessary again!

Happy Christmas and Nee Year all you wonderful women.

Fizzleawayyy1 · 30/12/2025 13:07

Sorry I have been totally MIA, been ill and super busy, husband is at work today and I'm down to 1 kid so have a bit of time to catch up... I dont go back to work until the 5th thankfully.

I hope everyone has had a lovely christmas! I didn't wear anything special on xmas day, I never do actually, Christmas jumper and jeans, I didn't really have time as I was cooking and before I knew it guest were arriving as we hosted! @HansHolbein

@Histoscientist Happy belated birthday and I will attach a picture of what I wore to my works xmas party! Well done on smashing 4st! is 1.7mg a higher dose or the starter? iv never looked into wegovy but thinking of switching after I run out of MJ.

@EVK Sounds like we both over indulged! Im still taking MJ, probably will for another 6 months.

So I haven't took MJ all over xmas, took a half dose on the 10th December before my works xmas party and nothing until yesterday when I weighed, thought SHIT! and jabbed 7.5mg to tide me over until after my birthday next week when I will start properly. I have been BAD with food, iv over indulged massively and it says I'm up 12lbs! FFS.
Not fussed really as It will be off within a few weeks. I do have a girl weekend away at the end of Jan so as long as its gone by then, all good. Then il aim to get the last little bit off.

I'm also going to join a gym and start going at the end of January.

Hope everyone has a lovely NYE!💥

@Fizzleawayyy1 you look fab in that outfit, glad you had a lovely christmas.
@EVK I still check here every now and again though not as much anymore but I’ve been maintaining without the jab for 10.5 months now. I’m so close to the 1 year mark and I’m not keeping my eye off, I still weigh weekly and strength train 5 days a week. I gained 2lbs over Xmas and hopefully it goes off within the next weeks as like you, I’m not counting calories but most of the treat foods are gone now so I’ve been back to my routine since yesterday. It’s been great not having to worry about my weight this Xmas, I enjoyed all the clothes,I wore and wasn’t not self conscious at events.

Histoscientist · 30/12/2025 19:10

@Fizzleawayyy1 wow you look amazing, my body looks no where near yours, it is getting more toned with the body toning exercises with dumbbells that I've been doing last week, managed 3 sessions. 1.7mg is a higher dose, it's the second highest, probably equivalent to 7.5-10mg.
@EVK everyone puts on weight over Xmas. Well I still calorie tracked cos I'm a control freak and I ate around 1274 cals. But I gained 1.5lbs the morning after I started exercising, it then goes down and back up when exercising again! It's also my time of month now and I'm 2lbs up from my lowest weight but I guess that's to be expected. I'm eating more cals now around 1200-1400 a day and slightly more carbs as I want to gain muscle. The scales did show an increase in muscle mass after my first session. Haven't checked it since. It is nice seeing my body changing and toning up.
I'm counting clicks and reducing my wegovy slightly as it's too strong so doing around 1.5mg instead of 1.7, it's been a bit better.
@Tohaveandtohold wow what an achievement of maintaining for 10.5 months! Though I wouldn't be able to strength train 5 days a week due to 11-12hr working days 5 days a week, so if that's what it takes to maintain I'm screwed!

HansHolbein · 04/01/2026 18:59

Hi all, wishing you a very happy new year and I hope you had a lovely Christmas!

Fizzleawayyy1 · 05/01/2026 09:25

@Tohaveandtohold only 2lbs on over xmas is amazing, maintaining for nearly a year is great too! I think I will be on this for ages.

@Histoscientist I am joining the gym this month to tone up, I feel like I'm that women who is slim but like jelly!
Which pharmacy gave you the higher dose of wegovy straight off? I may look at switching as my hair is so thin!!

@HansHolbein Glad you had a lovely xmas! Have a nice break from MN, I only really post on this thread and mostly if I take a 5 min break from working.

SOOOOO for myself! I weighed this morning, Iv been a bit wild with food since 12th December, had my works xmas do, xmas, new year & my birthday, way too much cheese and crackers and I stepped on the scales this morning and IV GAINED A WHOLE STONE!!!! 14LBS!!! fuck.

Back on it today, lets see how long it will take me to shift it and then get rid of the last 10lbs!
