With only a tiny bit of space left on the last thread, here’s a new one!

jaelato1 · 18/10/2025 06:46

Week 4, day 1, 2.5mg

B - scrambled eggs, mushroom, tomato and small baked beans

L - protein yogurt with collagen

D - chicken fajitas wrap

Not enough water still as I am feeling bloated.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 18/10/2025 07:07

@jaelato1 morning! The bloat is likely to be coming from the slowed gastric emptying. I would get it whenever I went up a dose.

Do try and sip water through the day as obviously that’s one of the main things that will help stop constipation.

@IReallyNeedThisToWork Morning! TMI but it's my time of the month 😔 so I'm always bloated. First time with mounjaro in the mix but my mission today to hydrate more. Thanks x

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 18/10/2025 07:16

@jaelato1 ahhh! That will have an effect. You’ll probably be hungrier too so just go with it and do what you can.

I almost went back to dark side of food yesterday but I have been controlling myself lol. The chicken fajitas was from McDonald's but I really wanted big Mac but had to caution myself @IReallyNeedThisToWork

gimmemounjaro · 18/10/2025 08:00

Going to McDonalds and not having a Big Mac is definitely a win 💪

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 18/10/2025 13:17

I walked past Maccy D’s last night (on my way to the pub 😁) and the smell was very unpleasant. If MJ has cured my Big Mac/Big Tasty habit it’s been worth every penny!!

B: decaf black coffee

L: leftover stuffed peppers, protein yogurt with a kiwi and a plum

D: shepherds pie, peas. Square of dark cjoc

A better day although I did put away an impressive portion of shepherds pie, one of my absolute faves 🫢

Slummyslimmer95 · 18/10/2025 22:10

Fancied something sweet afterwards so had some candyfloss grapes
Not drank nearly enough water today 🤦‍♀️

Going to try to keep up with this to keep me accountable. Feel like I've injected water the last few weeks as portions are creeping bigger, food noise is returning and I'm picking at biscuits in work 😞. Went up to 10mg yesterday so 🤞🤞🤞

Here's yesterday's.

Week 30, 10mg, 39 pounds down.

B...m and s apple strudel flavour porridge. Surprisingly low in calories and sugar. Tea.

L...5 heck low fat chicken sausages in air fryer with mushrooms. Bit of sweet chilli sauce. Estimated 300 calories as sausages are 76 for 2 I think.

D...out for a family meal at pizza hut. I went for one of the less than 500 calories flatbread and it was amazing, so colourful and fresh and really tasty. Had about 2/3 of that and half a portion of the hot honey chicken strips which was 200 calories. Plus a massive salad 😉 avoiding coleslaw etc and just a tiny spoon of dressing. And 2 diet cokes. And a couple of bites of the DCs ice-cream. Going to estimate 1000 calories for that meal.

yesterday’s offerings… was due to jab that evening and left the house at 7am to take eldest child to a uni open day… was on 5 mg last week but jabbed 3.75mg last night as my maintenance taper…

B: coconut cappucino from cafe Nero, 3/4 punnet raspberries, wheat bisc banoffee overnight oats from M&S - didn’t like the coffee or the breakfast pot! had about half and 3/4 as my kids were watching!

S: Tunnocks tea cake and peppermint tea

L: most of a prawn mayo sandwich and a pink lady apple

S: Decaf americano and dark chocolate Kit Kat

D: Bella Italia 1/2 veggie pizza with salad and garlic dip, bottle of alcohol free beer - we were going to have pudding but service was so slow we ended up coming home

S: snack size crunchie

Really tough day - one of my kids has an eating disorder so I needed to eat snacks when they did. We were doing lots of walking and I was struggling to find foods that were healthy but also appetising whilst also not appearing to check the labels! I don’t count cals but suspect this was probably ok for maintenance but hated having three chocolate snacks in one day. Back to some semblance of normality today.

I think you did a great job in difficult circumstances today @Incognitoburrito88 💪
Not a bad menu by any standards and you have shown yourself that you can absolutely manage the not so perfect days. These are the days that count imo, anyone can do well when they are free to eat whatever they want, and have plenty of time and healthy options available. But difficult days are inevitable, so managing those is where you find the difference between success and failure. Here endeth the motivational speech 🤓

B: decaf black coffee

L: leftover shepherds pie with peas. Protein yogurt with raspberries and a plum

D: beef stroganoff with tagliatelle. Couple of seedy crackers with cheese, square of dark choc.

Slummyslimmer95 · 19/10/2025 22:29

Today was

Bowl of frosties and semi skimmed milk

Bag of mini cheddars

1.5sausages (plated up 2 but got full), homemade roast potato, roast carrots, Yorkshire pudding, onion gravy

Freddo

Not perfect perfect but I thibk ive stopped striving for that now. Ive done it in the past, all or nothing, and lost weight but inevitably gone backwards. Ive been on MJ now for 6months and have lost 3 stone 8lbs. Not the fastest weight loss, especially when compared to diet clubs, but the healthiest I feel. No restricting, learning to listen to my body, naturally not really fancying takeaway etc. Plus im quite astonished ive kept to it. This is the longest ive ever kept to a health kick. I suppose because MJ helps make it a lifestyle change (hopefully!) And its not framed as a diet

Have friends dog for next fortnight while she's in Egypt so i should be getting my steps in (although if today's walk is anything to go by it takes twice as long and is not very relaxing as I spend half the time saying 'come on Doug, let's go' to the dog). Although will have to rethink times. Went on one last night, ended up having to walk through the woods in the dark with only my phone flashlight and was a bit anxious (not helped by the job I do!). So may be sticking to the main roads instead.
