Welcome to thread 10 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we’ve successfully navigated Easter and head towards Summer Holiday Season. Stop here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W25 D1 and on my second 7.5mg pen

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 9lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 44lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

@PinkArt sorry to hear about the blood clots and I hope they disappear quickly. Let us know what the consultant says.

I've not posted for ages but I've been following along with this thread. I'm now 3.8st down and so pleased I started this journey. My youngest is starting a new school on Tuesday and I've been weirdly relieved to have lost a decent amount before I become the new parent at the school gates. I have noticed at my heaviest I was less welcomed in social situations, possibly partly me being uncomfortable but I don't think that was the only reason.

I've also been noticing way more hair fall in the last few weeks, I've got thick hair and haven't noticed my hair looking thinner but there's so much hair in my hands when I wash my hair it's unnerving! I've done a big shop with plenty protein rich foods but I'm also on the look out for a supplement if anyone has any suggestions? Sticking point is I can't tolerate Biotin as it breaks me out.

What a fab result! 👏👏👏

Enjoy your new shape and confidence, wishing your little one all the best for Tuesday 🥰

Has anyone heard of nutrition geek? I’m very confused. I’ve been reading about collagen and suddenly I get a pack from nutrition geek through the post with some other capsules. I panicked that I accidentally clicked something and ordered it all but nothing on the bank account or credit cards. It’s so weird. Sensible me thinks I shouldn’t use random packs of stuff that came through the door… but they look legit 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sounds like a gift?

@TeenLifeMumhow odd. I get my magnesium and lion’s mane thru nutrition geeks and I’d be delighted if they wanted to send me something for free. Not the collagen though as it’s not vegetarian 😂 I bought my lion’s mane direct but the magnesium on Amazon.

to those asking about hair loss I think it was @lovealongbathwho posted a very comprehensive message recommending nioxin. I have used this before but hadn’t realised how important the first step was so I only used the shampoo and conditioner.

is it your school reunion tonight @Mounjaropen have a fabulous time and enjoy being a skinny Minnie. What are you wearing?

Obviously I now have a hangover… 😂

I wore the dress I wore to DD’s birthday but I’m 10lbs lighter than the start of last month so it did feel better. After a few glasses of wine the “ooh have you lost weight?” chat did start. Apparently my hips look very slender so I’ll take that for the win 💪

They sent lion’s mane too! I’m wondering if it’s gift from someone.

It’s very thoughtful if it is a gift 🥰

I once messaged all my close friends thanking them for the very thoughtful gift of 2 box seats to see a comedian I find funny. Turns out it was a drunk purchase by me 😂

Other drunk purchases (excluding clothes because they don’t count) have included a slice (one slice! ) of a 17 layer (yep 17) chocolate cake which cost £18 including delivery. Then the time I needed furniture for a party I was hosting in one of my out buildings and I accidentally won 10 poseur tables and 30 bar stools on eBay (no hiding those from DH 🤣)

Totally off topic, but seeing you tag people reminded me to ask this question that I keep thinking:
what happens when you tag someone? I’ve been tagged in posts before, but I don’t get a notification or anything - am I supposed to?

I get an email if I’m tagged. Not sure why - might be my original settings.

Well done! You’ve really embraced the process - 100 classes is real effort and dedication. I wouldn’t worry about getting ill, you’re past the point of stopping because you’ve benefited so much. Plus now you’re at a much healthier place in your life it won’t feel so monumental to start up again. Enjoy the reunion!

I’m also loosing hair and getting a bit wrinkly so I’ve started taking Absolute Collagen- no idea if it’ll do anything but it says you see results in 3 months 🙏

I’m on Revive collagen. I’m giving it 90 days then I’ll review. Think it’s working though.

i've been lurking for a while but thought i'd pop in about a couple of things.

firstly i've hit my goal weight! my bmi is in the healthy category which is where i knew i needed to be psychologically.
down from 89kg to 69.6kg. i had been stuck at 72/73 kg for about 8 weeks but have been ill this week which has shifted the last lump (wouldn't recommend it as a weight loss technique as i honestly have lost a week of my life!) but i need to ensure it doesn't creep back now.

i'd decided to up to 10mg (before i was ill) to deal with the plateau which arrived yesterday. and also a box of 7.5mg also arrived yesterday.

i'm with voy and have checked my bank and only been billed for the 10mg. i've been honest and emailed them to say but surely they won't want one sending back as they can't be sure of the cold chain once delivered to me and i can't see how i can post it back under any sort of controlled conditions?

anyone had this happen?

i hope they say to keep it and then i've got enough to stick to 7.5mg and eek both out well into maintenance and then taper down in to the summer.

another question for the wise - if i keep it in the fridge after opening will it last longer than the 30 days? i've always done the bonus dose with a needle which does mean using it just over the 30 days. but if i used the 10mg as a 5 and had it open twice as long what would the consequences be? hope that makes sense!

hope everyone is doing well and keep on keeping on

Caplin · 27/04/2025 09:28

Morning all. I’m having a post Easter plateau, which is fair enough. Went away for a few days with the kids and did succumb to lots of bad food, cake, wine etc. less than I would normally eat, but still not great. Then a massive Easter weekend family lunch. My stomach was very unhappy at various points due to the fat and alcohol.

back on track now, and I didn’t put anything on which was a miracle really, but the weight has been stuck. Hopefully this week things will move again! Still on 5mg, and it is still pretty effective, so going to stick on it for another month.

Meanwhile I have been gutting the wardrobe and selling lots of stuff on vinted, and also replenishing the wardrobe on vinted as well. Got a lovely Whistles tiered dress in a size 16 and it looks amazing! I have never shopped in Whistles because it has never fit me before. Got a friend’s wedding in two weeks so feeling pretty pleased with my purchase!!! Only £12 and a white jacket from Oasis for £3!

MsRumpole · 27/04/2025 10:20

Well, I had a fairly horrible night. I took my 5mg pen dose 2 nights early (OK'd by my GP) but I had eaten very badly that day and wish I had waited as I spent last night throwing it all back up. Feeling much better now and was able to manage a couple of boiled eggs for breakfast but it's made me quite anxious about going up to 7.5mg on my next pen.

Edited

Maybe you should step up more gently, do 6.25 for a couple of weeks?

I think so. One of my friends said that 5.0 to 7.5 was the worst jump for her in terms of symptoms. I think I am a bit thrown because it's been very easy for me on side effects so far!

lovealongbath · 27/04/2025 10:54

I have had a rash for the past week, the itch is intense!

Oh my god my stomach. I have had explosive diarrhoea since Thursday. When will this stop?? Today is my jab day, I was going to titrate back down to 7.5 but I think I might need to postpone entirely for a day or two.

Arglefraster · 27/04/2025 11:33

Hi @jaromounthe 5th dose is within the 30days open use window.
day 1 - jag 1
day 8 - jag 2
day 15 - jag 3
day 22 - jag 4
day 29 - jag 5

The preservative /effectiveness has only been tested/proven for 30days, the longer you keep using it the greater the chance of contamination/drug degradation. Basically no one can safely advise you to use a pen that's been open for more than 30 days (because there are no data) - you will need to make your own risk/benefit decision.

Arglefraster · 27/04/2025 11:37

@lovealongbath Arrgghhh you poor thing.
Is it just on your arm or all over? (If all over & you aren't prone to these things/haven't just tried a new cream/washing powder I think it might be worth speaking to your prescriber as I would be wary of an allergy developing.)

Presume you're using antihistamines etc hope it clears quickly

lovealongbath · 27/04/2025 11:55

taking Antihistamine but it’s not touching the itch!

Been in touch with MedExpress awaiting a reply.

It’s on arms and torso.

Oh that's frustrating. I would slap some hydrocortisone on or Eurax if the skin isn't broken (stings like a bastard if it is!) in the mean time (lifetime of reactive skin)

I hope they get back to you soon with something helpful

random223 · 27/04/2025 13:48

Definitely on a plateau as no weight loss again this week.

Even worse - yesterday I just wanted (and did) eat everything in sight.

Am going to increase my dose today to 7.5mg.

JasonTindallsTan · 27/04/2025 15:17

I had two eggs this morning in a bid to up my protein intake. It’s a start 😂🤭

Ive just ordered my 3rd 10mg pen, suppression is still really good on this dose and the weight seems to be coming off quite well right now. I’m starting to think about maybe needing smaller clothes. Lots of my jeans etc look awful and saggy but I still don’t actually believe I’ll fit into a smaller size.

obviously no good if you're eating boiled eggs but adding one or two egg whites to your two eggs if scrambled eggs/omelette is an easy way to up the protein for few calories 😃
I do struggle with guilt for throwing the yolks away though! (When I priced it up whole eggs were cheaper than a carton of egg whites so the kids get egg yolk cookies more often than they should 🙈)

I think if you’re at the stage of jeans looking saggy and weird you’ve definitely gone down at least one dress size and possibly two. Jeans look quite nice slouchy and loose, so if they’ve gone past that then you should try some different sizes - you might get a very pleasant surprise!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 27/04/2025 15:34

No weight loss here this week either. I’m not too worried because my 9 has re-appeared on the scales, and I’ve got my period. Hoping for a post-period whoosh next week!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 27/04/2025 15:39

Oh, forgot to say - my twin sister asked me today what I weigh, and when I said 9 stone 13(ish), she said she’s about 9 stone 7. She’s basically my control - has maintained her weight properly her entire life, never been fatter than she is now, etc. So it’s very interesting that her natural set point is about 9 stone 7, which would be a BMI of approx 24. Suggests that perhaps that would be a good place for me to get to.

Hi everyone.

SW - 157 lb’s
CW - 127 lb’s
GW - 115 lb’s

height - 4’10

I’m really struggling at the moment! On my 2nd pen of 7.5 and am having days of soooooo much good noise and no will power.

In the last month I’ve only lost a couple of poubds

I’m also shedding a lot of hair and have been since February and have developed painful bursitis in my right hip/thigh.

Feeling a bit down with it all.
