Welcome to thread 10 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we’ve successfully navigated Easter and head towards Summer Holiday Season. Stop here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W25 D1 and on my second 7.5mg pen

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 9lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 44lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

I’ve gone off a lot of processed meats which is no bad thing. I’m fussier with ketchup and dressing.
And mostly I’m cured of crisps. Occasionally I’ll crave some salt and vinegar but mostly they no longer appeal as a snack which is so wild to me.

unfortunately I’ve gone off the m&s protein snacks I liked, the cheese clouds and Serrano ham bites.

Same here. Processed sliced meat just doesn’t appeal. I can skip past the crisp aisle without a backward glance. I no longer stuff my face with most of a Pringles tube or whatever. Thanks to MJ I am more likely to have a second or even third apple instead of cakes, biscuits and crisps.

Afternoon everyone,

Weekly weigh in on 2.5 dose..

jab number 25
SW 18st 4
CW 15 stone 5.9lbs
1 lb loss this week
total loss so far 2 stone 12lbs
I have lost 16 % of my starting weight

SBMI 43
CBMI 36.9

Achievements this week ….
my steps this week are 67877 steps.

Well done to everyone on the great losses and to those that have reached maintenance stage, we can do this 💪

I moved up to 7.5mg as I had basically stalled for 6 weeks, just losing 1/4 to 1/5 pound. I need a small whoosh to get me into the 11s

Invisablepanic · 16/05/2025 07:27

Weigh in day
SW 17st
CW 13.2
GW 12

Scales are still going the right way but it's slowed in the last 4 weigh ins to 1lb a week, where I had been consistent at 2lb a week. I definitely need to focus more on exercise, I walk a lot but I need to start weights.

Nearly 4 stones gone! Amazing! 👏

just be prepared to increase your weight temporarily as you start weights. Focus on your inch loss to remain motivated.

I’m stuck at 9.1 stone. It’s been ages and the scales won’t move. I was trying to be very good yesterday sticking to soups and protein/veg but my DD had made a berry crumble in Food Tech and I felt bad not eating any and then my whole family wanted me to make flapjacks, so I did and then they insisted I ate one with them, so in order not to make my teenagers feel a flapjack is bad I ate one - very annoying because I really didn’t want or need it.

Has anyone found their tastes have changed? I used to love bread but I’ve gone off it - not sure if it MJ or just a change in taste due to not eating it for so long

Yes but in the sense that I've gone off things without developing a taste for other things. My sweet tooth has died - I didn't used to eat much sweet stuff but over the last couple of years I seem to have developed one (which aligned with my huge weight gain). Glad to see the back of it and may it never come back. I've also gone right off alcohol which is actually kind of annoying as I wasn't a big drinker but did enjoy an occasional gin at the weekend and I miss that.

The only thing I seem to want more of is salt! Salt & vinegar crisps is one snack I have definitely not gone off!

I’m not on anything currently, the flexi plan allows me to go back on the 2.5 as and when I want to, no questions asked, I pay a £15 a month retainer which feels like a good insurance arrangement for now to see how I settle/manage/maintain going forwards

Will the £15 a month go against a future pen if you order one?

sounds like a good safety net. I actually like the idea of spending some money to keep myself accountable when the time comes.

SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:15st 13lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs

One pound off so I'm officially in the 15s 🥳

I'm taking it easy while the blood clots clear, plus I've got a lot of hair loss at the moment, so I don't mind if my loss slows for a bit. That said, I'm itching to hit 4 stones loss now it's so close, especially as I've already bought my jewellery reward and want to wear it!

I’m the same but with ready salted crisps. Bizarrely I have never been a crisp person until now. But it’s a few rather than a whole tub of Pringles.

Thank you. I can feel that I'm not back to normal yet - I'm getting a lot of head rushes and still some shortness of breath - but I'm basically functioning normally but cautiously. It's a good excuse for why I'm not exercising at least!
I have a terrible weakness for gemstone rings, and - as my presence on these boards testifies - no will power. I've already got a ridiculous collection but they bring me so much joy. My fingers have always been relatively slim, so they are one of my favourite features to highlight. Since stone two, each stone off is being rewarded with a gold ring so I'm building a beautiful visual reminder of my progress so far. There are tiny diamonds waiting to celebrate 4 stones with me!

Brilliant that you no longer want sweet treats - sugar addiction is so hard to overcome. Funnily alcohol is something I’ve never gone off - I still look forward to a glass of red wine but instead of 2 glasses one is enough most of the time. You seem to be an anomaly on this thread with your crisp enjoyment! Completely blown apart my very scientific ‘it must be the grease’ theory 🤣

1st week of 2nd 10mg Pen
(lost track of total number of weeks!)

SW 16st 5lb
CW 13st 1.5 lb
Total lost 3 stone 3.5

So close to going down to the next stone level, which will really motivate me this week.

NSV: I unpacked all my 'slimmer' clothes from storage, and with DD's encouragement tried on every single item. Almost everything fit. I haven't worn them for over 8 years.
Then the 2 large bags packed to go to the charity shop were intercepted by DD who is now busy selling them on Vinted. So I have a very happy DD.

10mg is working well, still a bit nauseous/indigestion from time to time, but the MJ is lasting much longer towards the end of the week.

My son hugged me yesterday and then said 'WOW, I can feel you have lost so much weight!'.

I hope you have a happy weekend everyone.

I am trying to think if I have time off anything specifically. I still eat bread but I only buy sourdough and as it’s so thick and chewy I don’t want to have a quick sandwich anymore. I tend to have one slice a day now. I was the same when I did slimming world though so I don’t know if I’ve gone off it or just aware of how many of my daily calories it uses without adding much to my protein or fibre macros.

i am def drinking less but I’ve not gone off the taste. I feel the effects more quickly and the after effects are more profound. Again I’m very aware of the calories and with a daily target of 1200 or less they soon mount up.

I have probably eaten chocolate more regularly. I love the dark chocolate at Lidl and get the raspberry and salted caramel bars. I will treat myself to a square or 2 for a sweet hit.

I am eating a lot less pasta. This is quite a change for me. My portion sizes for carbs are definitely a lot smaller. I think this is one of my biggest worries about coming off MJ, if I start to eat the amount of carbs as I used to.

As a veggie I’m eating more meat substitutes than usual as they are a quick way to get protein and a filling meal. So my diet is more similar now to a meat eater on a diet I think. Fake chicken breast with a small amount of carbs and a big salad is a quick and easy go to.

I don’t eat meal deals anymore and if I have to when I’m out and about my choices are different. No grab bag of mccoys and a sugar full smoothie.

Im not adding garlic bread to already carby meals like I would have in the past.

Thank you for sharing! Really interesting information, I often think that a lot of the male doctors I saw earlier on in the menopause journey were very quick to dismiss weight gain or something that happened as part of the menopause as opposed to something which may well have been out of my control, so this pretty much vindicates the fact that actually it doesn’t really matter how much you watch your weight, waite game does seem to be inevitable.

Well, I think they are super changes! if you can remind yourself post MJ of portion sizes that were working for you whilst you have been losing, I think you have a very sustainable plan moving forward!

Well done! I am also 2.4 LBS off the next stone bracket, which seems tantalisingly close doesn’t it? This week does feel like it’s been quite the slog though… I’m not quite at a 1lbs loss despite Cleaning eating, having a great step count, playing tennis 2X and 5X of pvolve…😩

I can join the 2.4lbs club too. From the next stone bracket and my target. Although it’s further away this morning as I ate really late last night. I’d only had 400 cals during the day and went for a long walk with a friend. I didn’t want to end the day on such low cals and protein so I forced down a veggie steak and rice!
