Welcome to thread 10 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we’ve successfully navigated Easter and head towards Summer Holiday Season. Stop here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W25 D1 and on my second 7.5mg pen

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 9lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 44lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Morning lovelies
Gorgeous sunny day out, annoying to be inside working.
No weight loss this week.
Found myself mindlessly snacking on Saturday, so ordered a 10mg pen for next month.
Then today my period arrived and im back on the fence about moving up. I think I will then manage with clicks if side effects too much.
Jabbed in my thigh today for a change.

Well I think you found the cause of your static weight this week, but no gain is still a great result especially if you have had the munchies!

That sounds promising! My call with them is next month.

What sort of workwear do you like/need?

I’ve ordered a couple of Boden dresses off Vinted but I’ve gone for size 10 which might be a bit optimistic.

i think I probably need a couple of smartish midi dresses and maybe some linen black trousers (petite).

phyllidafosset · 28/04/2025 22:52

I’m very behind! I have reached my 3 stone and snuck over it. I’m now a little past my original goal weight. I had shifted my goal weight to 5lbs under my original planned weight, but this month I have been losing very slowly and I have decided I’m going to try going back to 2.5mg to see how I go with maintenance, so I took my last jab of my 5mg pen today!!! It is partly because I’ve been having a lot of dizziness because of low blood pressure. I am hoping it will go as the MJ reduces.

Feels quite scary, but I am hoping that my gym habit is going to help. I had a pretty rubbish weekend food-wise, basically I allowed myself to have stuff I haven’t been eating. But today, I’m back to the gym and I hope that regular routine will help. Because a little tiny bit of crap is okay! I just need to keep my portion size down.

So, I’m hoping! Will catch up a bit tomorrow 😊

Hurray, 3lb is brilliant! You will absolutely get there.

Went to my trampoline class for the first time in about 6 weeks tonight, yay!

Thank you, trampoline class sounds real fun…I’m learning to swim after being afraid of water for 50+ years….never had such interest in fitness….very unlike me but thanks to Mounjaro.

SerenePeer · 29/04/2025 07:56

Morning jabbers! The scales gave a wobble this morning and I thought they were going to move, but no. They decided to stay stuck 🤦‍♀️

@cantbesure Mint Velvet have some lovely summer work bits just now and I really rate Uniqlo for linen trousers.

Dreamqueen · 29/04/2025 08:18

My hair is falling out in handfuls. At this rate I’ll be bald before reaching goal weight. 7lbs to go. I’ve got a maintenance call booked but it’s not until July.

So sorry to hear this! Do you think it’s the MJ or the weight loss? (Both?) How much weight have you lost so far?

I’ve started making a concerted effort to up my protein intake, and am taking Perfectil Max. I’ve also ordered some Nutrition Geeks Biotin Growth (there’s biotin in Perfectil too but loads more in the Nutrition Geeks formulation). Also taking collagen and calcium.

Hooray for being just 7lbs away from goal though! 🎉

Vinted is my best friend at the moment. I think I’m addicted 😂

I think M&S have got some quite stylish bits in at the moment? Might be worth starting there? Also ZARA. Although you do have to hunt. I think you might well.be a size 10 by now? I optimistically ordered Zara items in a medium and found that the shorts Fitted perfectly (although I’ve had to return them as they were showing my festoon curtain thighs😩) But the dress, I ordered a medium fitted over my bust for a change! (Although it was the dress that was fitted tight on the lower part, and was quite roomy on the top) There was also some articles in the press this week about the new collection at Asda, which was getting some fashion editor praise l. Might be worth checking out all of the lower end options of the purse until you are at a weight you know you can maintain and can splurge on the things that you absolutely love, and will be in your wardrobe for many years to come?

Well, it’s brilliant, you are hovering around three stone loss! 👏👏 I think a tiny bit of crap is perfectly allowable! We’ll need to be realistic about what we can achieve, moving forward without feeling as if we’ve completely fallen off the wagon. Enjoy the gym! 💪

They will move… This time last week, I stepped on the scales after the Easter weekend and was weighing at 151.4lbs (Obviously, I did not record this weight 😂) And that gave me a bit of a wobble… but I Did clean eat and finished the week at 146.8. I have the same situation this morning, seems to follow a pattern two days after I have indulged over the weekend I start the week heavier than I would like, I was at 148.4 today And hopefully will finish the week at 145. The fluctuation across the week seems to be greater in number though.

your whoosh will come! Focus on on the wanky London salads and the 6am Pilates class 😉

How are your macros? Personally, I’d be focusing on ensuring you are getting at least 2 g per kilogram of body weight of protein per day until you see a slowdown in the loss.I chose the revive collagen because each sachet gives me 10 g of protein which is an easy win. I am still seeing some shedding but not at the rate it was at before. I think there are some deep cleansing shampoo, as you can use that make sure that all of the Product residue is cleared from your follicles so that new hair can grow. Maybe try one of those at the same time as other supplements? Also review the earlier posts on this thread by our resident trichologist @lovealongbath which gives excellent advice.

Thank you @Mounjaropen , I'm going to order some collagen. My macros are good. I aim for 100g of protein daily, will try to up that number. Going to read back and look for the posts from @lovealongbath about hair.

Arglefraster · 29/04/2025 13:22

FWIW I recently discovered that we're not supposed to count collagen toward protein count (because it's not a complete protein)
BUT I track because I track the calories etc so 🤷‍♀️

I've lost 38lbs so far, since November. The major hair loss has only started in the last few weeks and is getting increasing steadily. About to do a major supplement order. I've been very good on the protein intake but hadn't taken any supplements. On the whole supplements seem to make me feel quite quesy and nauseous so i avoided them because I felt pretty nauseous on the MJ. Google seems to say that hair loss should improve in a few months if it's caused by weight loss. It seems to be common for people who've had gastric bypasses also since the diet has such a major change.

I went to slimming world for a bit after having my daughter thinking it would help shift the baby weight. I didn't last long, it felt like a big shiny promotion for disordered eating. Syns ffs and the syn value of branded foods seemed to depend on whether they had partnered with SW or not. Exercise called "body magic" and maybe you shouldn't do it if it was causing you to not lose weight. There was just so much wrong with it. I ended up going back to calorie counting and exercise.

They were the first slimming club I tried in the 90s, gave me a massive appetite with all the 'free' pasta etc. Meant I whacked on the weight when I added in non diet toppings.

Then I went to Weight Watchers which did help me lose about 2 stone but it was so unsustainable and sugar heavy (meringues were half a 'point' each so I had loads but remained starving hungry most of the time, I remember going to bed with teeth cleaned at about 8 to avoid eating anything else).

They also went on about muscle weighing more than fat and to not exercise if you weren't losing weight.

I used to take Dulcolax I didn't need before each weigh in to make sure I was the lightest I could be :-( Just unhealthy places which definitely encouraged disordered eating in me.

Oh really? That’s annoying! I was happily banking my 20g! Ah oh well.

Have ordered some protein powder from Boots today (£10 Tuesday! They also have bio oil lotion as recommended by @Mounjaropen for £10 too - just 175ml bottles but still cheaper than normal).

I have to admit I get excited every Tuesday to see what is on offer 🤭

Everything crossed the loss settles down for you and the supplements help. I can get queasy with vitamins too, definitely have to take them with or soon after food.

Thank you @Goldleafcat. I've ordered 3 different lots of protein powder on the tenner tuesday. I'd forgotton about the tuesday deals. that should up the protein intake nicely.

I need to go bra shopping on friday. My bras are very empty and sad looking. I sorted them all out last night and I'm putting them up in the loft. (just in case, there's too much money spent on them if I ver need the bigger size again) Any tips on where to go for cheapish everyday bras please? I will need to try them on because I've no idea what size I am now. I was a 32F but looking more like a B cup now.

I got a black and pink pair in a set from Matalan. They were very much a ‘they will do for now’ set as my old ones were big and baggy 😂 but now I’m a smaller 32f they’ve actually been fine. I was expecting the straps to hurt and dig in but they’ve become my everyday bras.

Is m&s still down online after the cyber attack?
im going to get some petite linen blend trousers from new look for now I think.

i still think getting my boobs into a fitted 10 dress might be pushing it. But fingers crossed I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

dragging my suitcase of summer clothes I don’t wear down to see if there is anything suitable.

just ordered running shorts and a vest. Who do I think I am? 😂🙈

In a meeting today an external colleague asked if I had meant to lose such a vast amount of weight, or had I been ill. She is European and often has a funny turn of phrase so I’m going to assume it was a compliment 😂
