Welcome to thread 8 to MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we Spring forward into a new season...and consider new swimwear and Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W17 D3 and on my fourth 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 6.4 lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 32.6lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

@Mounjaropen not so much organised as that's the first availability 😂But if I keep at 1lb a week I should be at target by about that time. Although I may want to bring it down another half a stone. I'm finding it tricky to know where a good place to land is in my 50s, 3 c sections, already lost weight and gained before etc. I don't want lots of loose skin on my stomach/arms and to get to a weight I can't sustain.

Has anyone in our lovely gang got to BMI 25 or below yet?

I’m at 26.3… still got just under 20lbs to go. Might have a look at Oushk on Monday if the appointments are that far ahead.

Morning all. Well done to those who have seen losses on the scales, you are doing so well!

Hope you feel better soon @Mounjaropen and have a wonderful time at the cookery class today. Sounds like great fun!

I too wish to enrol my DH for the intensive rehabilitation programme! Topics to include ‘Not all gifts must be alcohol’ (which he then drinks 🙄) and ‘Yes! You too can operate an oven. Learn to heat food in 3 easy steps’.

Only 1lb off this week which is a bit pants, but at least it’s in the right direction. I actually did more exercise this week (walking, the Pilates classes) and was pretty good calorie wise, so am hoping I might see more progress next week.

Progress to date:
SW 16 stone 7lbs
CW 14 stone 5lbs
GW 11 stone

Loss so far: 30lbs / 13kg
I started with a BMI of 37.3. Now at 32.4.

Edited

Well done! Coming along nicely my friend 🥳

I particularly like point 1. Can we add in a module in “how to load the dishwasher so that items actually come out clean, including sub-sections on rinsing, soaking and checking that no one has left a scrunched up crisp packet in a mug before putting it in the dishwasher”?

or indeed the cba to just go to the bin so put the crisp packet in your trousers and then watch it go through the wash. Morons. All of them 😂

OOOHHH!!! My husband does that INSANELY annoying trick of scrunching up a crisp pack or chocolate wrapper and stuffing it into a mug (always with liquid still in it)! The mug, liquid and wrapper all go in three DIFFERENT places, and everyone wants to put a wet drippy wrapper in the bin, so much better than a simple dry one! #passiveagressiverantover

I think you might qualify for our friends and family rate 😂

No styling tips I'm afraid @SerenePeer. I'm currently on a self imposed Vinted ban as I'm addicted to buying dresses I couldn't have got on 3 months ago! My favourite list is bonkers! Dh is starting to worry about my new found knees attracting other men 😜

Ah yes the sexual allure of knees 😂

Well done! What length is the skirt? Colour? Style?

Thanks @Mounjaropen - black, pencil skirt style, hits just below my knee. Thinking maybe a kitten heel?

DarkForces · 01/03/2025 16:39

I had the Leon super protein salad today and can recommend. Definite cut above a McDonald's burger! This is the one I went for and it was delicious! https://leon.co/menu/paprika-chicken-super-bowl/

Hi all, been super busy at work, doing some travelling and haven't posted for ages.

16 weeks now and just over 20lb down.

5'3
SW 13st 3lb
CW 11st 10.5lb

Things do seem to have slowed a little and I feel less suppression so was thinking about going up to 10mg, but decided to stick with. 7.5mg for the third month and see.

I've gone from a 16 to a 14, waist from about 37in to about 31in (need to buy a tape measure, bra size from 34JJ to 32J/34HH. Some size 12s are doing up but still too tight to wear comfortably. Although I got some M&S jeans in a 12 which work.

Anyone else finding getting dressed in the morning bloody annoying? I don't know what fits and what outfits work together any more, and seem to end up trying on half my wardrobe before going to work every day.

Well the world’s your oyster there…personally I’d go with a knee high close fitting boot accompanied with a tight sweater or fancy blouse.

Fab losses! Well done! Top tip: act like a stylist. Try everything on on a Sunday. Lay 5 outfits out for the week 😉

What's with this horrible cold me and DP and the wee GS have it GS has autism he's 6 and doesn't realise cleaning his nose is helping or taking calpol helps its so frustrating I'm knackered and ate a medium wrap of the day meal from mcdonalds 😬

memphismayhem · 01/03/2025 22:37

well done to everyone and it’s great to share this journey with you all.

I’m 38lb down today, feeling very happy indeed.

SW: 14 stone (7 Nov) - BMI 32.6
CW: 11 stone 6 lbs - BMI 26.6
GW: 10 stone ish … which I haven’t been for around 8 years

Still haven't told a soul. Hubby and close friends know I’m dieting.

memphismayhem · 01/03/2025 22:45

36lbs, not 38lbs 🤦‍♀️

not that I’m counting or anything 🤣

Friends, I’m delighted to confirm that our trademarked 10-step food-specific part of the DH rehabilitation programme will include:

  1. Learning to cook a meal without using every piece of cooking equipment or utensil in the kitchen.
  2. Learning the art of clearing up as you go along in point 1.
  3. Discovering the simplicity of emptying dishwasher before you start cooking so the mess you create has somewhere to go (part of our joint honours alongside ‘the bleeding obvious’ programme)
  4. Learning not to wait for a medal ceremony after cooking one meal (not for yourself) out of a possible 90 over any one month
  5. Understanding that what you fancy eating does not match what everyone else in the family wants to eat for every meal and how this may affect matrimonial relations
  6. Learning the wisdom of using resealable bags or tins for biscuits/crisps/crackers so other family members may enjoy crispy food stuffs after you have opened them
  7. Discovering the inner peace that using a plate whilst eating on the sofa may bring as you learn how to avoid both repercussions and spousal conflict from your actions
  8. Enjoying the household harmony as you actively clear up without being prompted after someone else has made you a meal.
  9. Reaping the benefits of carrying out small acts of kindness as you offer your spouse a drink when you make one for yourself or bring them a coffee in bed
  10. Understanding the link between pulling your weight in the domesticity department and the rather enjoyable reward centre in the boudoir ;-)

Sign your DH up now 😂

Obviously Mr Pumpkin is on the list.

is there any chance we could add

  • the art of finishing one job before starting the next
  • if you say you are going to do something do it and stop procrastinating (I fear that might be level 2)

I am conscious that we can’t overload them 😂

Mounjaropen · 02/03/2025 10:58

Lost a pound this morning since yesterday (I am now 11st 4.8lbs … this is how I did it… bacon naan for breakfast (cream cheese, coriander, chilli jam, 6 rashers of streaky smoked bacon) followed by zero exercise, two thirds of a bottle of wine I forgot I had pre ordered during the cookery class (very good fun by the way)then further cocktails/wine at a hotel bar. 🤷‍♀️

Obviously I’ll take the win, but I have very high hopes for significant losses on my boozy weekend away next weekend in Dublin 😂

Male Procrastination is an entirely separate module. Maybe Mr P could consider a major in this area as part of our join honours programme? 😂

If you find a procrastination course for Mr Pumpkin can I go too please 🙈 (she writes on MN while the to do list hasn't reduced since 10am ... and it's a to do list of enjoyable things 🙄)

Arglefraster · 02/03/2025 11:26

Sounds like Dublin is definitely going to be a winner for you @Mounjaropen ! Plus all those b vitamins in the Guinness so it's basically a health spa

😂 Health Spa indeed.

Hotel we are staying at does have a spa but even to hotel guests it is €25 each to use it (basically.€50 for the pair of us to sit by a pool and use the communal sauna etc). It’s fair to say I emailed them (having established they had zero treatment appointments left for the whole weekend) to express my displeasure at being charged to use a facility that should 100% be included in the price of at the very least disclosed before booking…this isn’t a premier inn rate that we are paying… is now free of charge for us 😉
