Welcome to thread 8 to MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we Spring forward into a new season...and consider new swimwear and Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W17 D3 and on my fourth 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 6.4 lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 32.6lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

As another week comes to a close with careful eating (bar one creme egg) and copious amounts of exercise (5 x Pvolve 2 x 2hr tennis sessions and 3 x 50minute incline walks), Mounjaropen finds herself resolutely stuck at 11st 3.2 😭a whoosh must be due 🤞🏻 I am determined to see 10’s before this month is out. I have lost nearly an inch off my waist since March 1st so all is not lost!

Happy Saturday everyone!

At this stage inches probably mean more than weight as you are building muscle, so if you dropped an inch that is awesome!!!

BlueWalker · 15/03/2025 11:59

Jab day and weigh in for me. I used an insulin syringe for the golden dose and it worked a treat for I am a Big Brave Girl.

W18 D1
SW 16st 4lbs
CW 13st 3lbs
GW 10st (ish)
Dose: 10mg

Sound the trumpets! I have now lost just over 3st.

I have been googling my weight loss equivalencies. I have lost a standard hoover. A microwave. A Labrador. 8.5 chihuahuas. 10% of a panda.

I know I shouldn’t complain. I’d still like the scales to say otherwise tho 😂

Today’s weigh in is 10st 7 - 2lbs to go to tip into “healthy” bmi. I’m determined to achieve that before the end of the month when I turn 43!… but also really fancy a McDonald’s banana milkshake and I’m out for dinner tonight with alcohol 😬

On the down side, life took another dip following mum’s cancer diagnosis. A week later and dad’s joined the party with a lung cancer diagnosis. 2025 isn’t my favourite year so far but we’ll get through it. Some good news would be nice right now though.

I’ve had to stop Mounjaro as after 3 months of no symptoms honestly I had a month where it reduced my appetite to basically not be able to stomach food at all. For much of the week I couldn’t eat, was weak and felt honestly half dead. Tried to go down a dose but it didn’t help. Luckily I’ve stopped where I am 1lb off a healthy weight BMI. My appetite is still reduced so I’m hoping to lose a little bit more and then maintain 🤞🏻

jay55 · 15/03/2025 18:39

Best of luck with maintaining @flyinghenmaybe that 1lb will drop off too, it takes a while to leave the system.
Totally understand stepping off, I’ve had a few nights thinking I can’t continue with the side effects.

Cantbesure · 15/03/2025 19:57

@TeenLifeMumI’m so very sorry to hear this. I hope you are ok.

After my moan yesterday about not losing anything for the last few weeks, I'm 1lb down today. Not loads but it's put me in a better mood as at least things are moving in the right direction!

So:

SW 13st 3lb, 5'3, BMI 32.8
CW 11st 9.5lb, BMI 29.0 (lost 21.5lb)

GW around 10st (BMI 24.9), so another 23.5lb to go.

Interim goal 10st 9lb by the end of May for this wedding, which is possible if I can get back to losing 1.5lb/week

Been looking at maintenance again now I’m within spitting distance of where I want to keep my weight. Noted on monj.co.uk that they have a maintenance page and there are a few pharmacies offering plans alongside Oushk. Interestingly, they’ll accept customers with BMI as low as 21 for maintenance on evidence they have been prescribed MJ in the past. One allows 19 as minimum in maintenance which is seriously low.

Tried booking Oushk consultation this morning (now 22nd May onwards), but payment wasn’t working so need to go back again later.

i am not thinking of a life post-MJ, planning to keep it going for some time. I know from the brief periods of low suppression over the journey that the path back to poor eating habits is very steep and slippery and only a step away. Think I want a good year under my belt of establishing new routines and habits, after all, spent 30+ years embedding the poor habits.

Thanks for sharing that info. On my to do list this week!

Checking in with this week's weigh-in. Pleased to have lost 2lbs after a slow couple of weeks. I think that means I have lost the microwave.

SW: 14 stone
CW: 11 st 6
TW: 10st ish

Hoping for some warmer weather as I am really struggling with the cold.

Well done! I’d definitely take a 2lb loss this week!

You'll get there @Mounjaropen - a predict a whoosh for you very soon! I'm in awe of your exercise levels 💪🏻 I just seem to be permanently knackered on mj - i wonder if I'm not eating enough?

🤞🏻

Are you eating enough protein? That might help?

I’ve not been about for a couple of weeks so just catching up!

Disappointment last week when I gained 1lb, first gain since I started 😞 I had delayed injecting by three days so I could enjoy a fancy meal, so that might have done it! But luckily it seems to be a blip as I’ve lost just shy of 3lbs this week.

I’ve now lost almost 3 1/2 stone and I was beginning to despair of actually going down a size, but today I tried on various trousers and none fitted, they were all hanging off me. So off I went to M&S and easily fitted into size 18 jeans!! Slightly snug, but I know they will loosen! So I am delighted that I have finally got there, and cleared my drawer of things that are too big! Last time I was this size was 2017!

5mg has been working well (almost too well for a while), but the last couple of weeks it has started to wear off and I feel snackish, plus the losses are around 1lb or less on average a week, so I’m moving up to 7.5mg in a few weeks. I am so close to being just overweight rather than obese!

SW: 18st 12.5lbs
CW: 15st 7lbs
GW: 12st 7lbs

Need to see how much I can shed before our big 20th wedding anniversary holiday in the summer! Can’t wait to sit comfortably in a plane seat, be able to pull down the tray table without it hitting my tummy, and getting into roller coasters with no fear that I won’t fit!!!

Well done! That is an awesome loss! And enjoy the new togs 🥰

@TeenLifeMum sorry to hear of your family cancer diagnoses, that’s a lot please be kind to yourself…

today I’ve hit the 20kg off mark and celebrated by tentatively ordering a bikini for holiday in April… not sure my children will be impressed however!
