Welcome to thread 8 to MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we Spring forward into a new season...and consider new swimwear and Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W17 D3 and on my fourth 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 6.4 lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 32.6lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Have any emotional eaters noticed that Mounjaro really brings to the fore the difference between eating for comfort and eating for nourishment? I quite often find now that my brain is begging me to eat rubbish to feel better but my stomach is just in the background going "Hard NO". Pre Mounjaro, I would not have been able to tell the difference - hunger was just hunger.

Me definitely! I have to write quite complex stuff for work, and getting started/ being in the thick of understanding it always meant me diving into biscuits. Now I have the same feeling but it gets snuffed out before I think about going to the cupboard, I can now recognise it as emotional eating. That is miraculous!

itsnotagameshow · 13/03/2025 14:15

Very excited that I lost 3lbs last week, 7.5 feels like 2.5 did. And I am into the expensive Shock Absorber bra that never really fitted me when I bought it a few years ago. I certainly haven't been able to get it on at all for the last couple of years. So that's a great feeling.

Also the difference between seeing something you like and actually eating it. The two used to be one and the same! But right now there’s a Fry’s chocolate cream in the cupboard. I like those. But I haven’t eaten it and it’s been there for a week. I don’t feel deprived, I’m not forcing myself to leave it. The urge to eat it just isn’t very powerful, whereas before I would have had it in my mouth within minutes of spotting it.

@Della82, if I ever achieve washboard abs I will post photos of them all over this thread and in every corner of the internet!

Della82 · 13/03/2025 15:10

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar Lol! I would do the same 😂😂
i have never had a flat stomach so don’t think I’m in danger of getting one now! Am interested to see how much of it goes as I approach my target weight!

We get a new thread when we reach 40 pages as the maximum number of replies will be 1000. We are on thread 8 and we are on page 23. It’ll be a while yet until we get to thread 9! Just look at the title if you are unsure x

That sounds frustrating!

I met a friend last night for some drinks and dinner at her house. Lovely catch up. We were talking about clothes and wardrobes etc and I did mention I’d lost some weight so have managed to get back into quite a few items which was a relief. She said nothing! I’m approaching 2 stone lighter than when I last saw her.

(she was the one who originally suggested I cull my wardrobe to just 5 items in each size when I lamented I had a wardrobe full of stuff that didn’t fit - so perhaps she was a bit grumpy her advice hadn’t panned out?) (who knows)

For me it is the fact that I KNOW I’m not hungry, I’m bored. The not-needing wine during the week is miraculous for me.

I don’t often comment but love reading this thread. I started on 20/11. Just got to 2 stone off. Slow and steady. About one and a half to go. Just creeping up over 5mg now. Had a nice surprise this week. Added my referral code from medexpress to a few threads ages ago. Got three emails Tuesday evening saying it had been used 😮 so £120 off. Ordered a 7.5mg. Then the following morning another one popped up 😮 so £160 in referrals 👏🏼 must’ve been in a group chat or something Grin didn’t really want another pen after the one I’ve just ordered as I now have 3 in the fridge but also don’t want to waste the £40 credit sat there. Happy days though.

Ooh what a result. MedExpress sent an email today offering some customers a free treatment if they permit them to use before and after pictures. Tbh, NO ONE should ever see my ‘please give me MJ’ photo. Ever. 😂

I’m an emotional eater, I had a tough day yesterday and had a few snaccidents 🤦🏻‍♀️

But you must tell us what was your snack of choice so we might enjoy it vicariously 😂

5 items? As in 5 pairs of trousers, 5 dresses etc in each size, or literally 5 items eg 1 dress, 1 skirt, 1 pair of trousers, 1 top and 1 jumper? The second option is ridiculous - no one has only 5 items - but when I count my clothes I must have at least 15 jumpers (thin ones, thick ones, hoodies/sweatshirts, cardigans, cashmere) and more like 40 tops easily by the time you’ve counted t-shirts, vests, going out tops, shirts, blouses, scruffy tops for gardening, sports wear…

Has anyone else noticed that although you’re smaller all over, problem areas are still disproportionately big? Or have they started to melt away? My lower abdomen/C-section roll has always been out of proportion, and although it’s smaller, it’s still there and sticks out. I’m hoping that once I get to a low enough BMI it will shrink back to a more normal silhouette. Can anyone give me hope that this is actually going to happen?

I am wondering this too. My Stomach is definitely getting smaller but I have a looooong way to go with it. I’ve been working on my arms so I know they are definitely smaller (confirmed by MeThreeSixty) as have my calves/thighs etc. My Tummy was always going to be tricky. My waist is also re-emerging and I can feel my hip bones when I lie down in bed which is nice. Overall though, I have the melted candle effect 😭

My bottom half is absolutely disproportionately large still compared to the rest of me.

Though wore another summer dress yesterday that had loads more space on the hips and over my upper arms. I was actually glad I'd put it in as it's close to being too sack like and I really love the pattern.

I'm still trying to get back to my low, scales stubbornly staying the same.

Great to hear about people getting close to goal. Feel like I'll have so much info on maintenance from you all by the time I get there.

Get a local seamstress to take the dress in if you love it? That would be £20 around here.

That's a specific kind of skinny privilege - my weight doesn't fluctuate privilege. Even when I was at a healthy BMI mine could change by about half a stone and a dress size in a week when I was on my period. Some of us need that range of (stretchy) options at all times.
The approach I've learned over the years is to not spend much on any individual item of clothing but to spend on fabulous accessories.

👏👏 hope you had a good day

I work in an NHS Trust so today’s announcement from the prime minister was a bit of a surprise. Meant I ate very well today… because I was pulled into meetings so had zero time to eat. Now I need to stay firm and not fall into a bedtime binge.

dinner was air fryer salmon with quinoa and veg. It was lovely.
