Welcome to thread 8 to MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we Spring forward into a new season...and consider new swimwear and Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W17 D3 and on my fourth 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 6.4 lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 32.6lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Thank you @Mounjaropen
dh’s job was secure then 3 days later dm gets a cancer diagnosis. Work have been amazing in saying I can work from my parent’s house to support during treatment and take time to take dm for appointments without using annual leave.

I’m so sorry to read this. Your work sounds really terrific about it all. Sending you strength for the months ahead. For a while I was where you are - seemed like one shitty year after another. With one thing after another. You will get through this. Take time to look after yourself. 💐

So sorry to hear this @TeenLifeMum I'm glad that work is being so flexible and supportive. Sending you and your mum positive thoughts.

I had a mini whoosh on the scales this morning and lost 2lbs so far this week. BMI is now 25.2 and I am 4.5lbs away from my initial target weight. That will make me the slimmest I can remember being since my 20s!! So far 7.5mg has been my favourite dose!

evilharpy · 13/03/2025 07:15

@TeenLifeMum so sorry lovely, thinking of you x

I have dropped another lb on the scales this morning. That's 5lbs since Sunday. I think for the two weeks it didn't shift I must have been retaining water or something.

Well done! Scales resolutely stuck here..I’ve lost 400g in 2 weeks so I must be due a whoosh 😭 getting to the 10’s is tantalising close with 4lbs to go…going to try to drink less this weekend and next so I don’t start the next 2 weeks on the back foot. My holiday is booked for the end of May and I would absolutely love to be at 10 st (or less! by then). Previously, I’d have started dieting about 8 weeks out so no wonder I’ve not needed any new swimwear for decades 😂

My Pvolve app confirms I’ve completed 70 classes since I started on the 4th November which equates to 43hrs. Go me 💪🏻

Cantbesure · 13/03/2025 10:12

Wow @evilharpy 5lbs in a week is miraculous! That's a mega whoosh.

qotsa · 13/03/2025 10:43

I don’t often comment but love reading this thread. I started on 20/11. Just got to 2 stone off. Slow and steady. About one and a half to go. Just creeping up over 5mg now. Had a nice surprise this week. Added my referral code from medexpress to a few threads ages ago. Got three emails Tuesday evening saying it had been used 😮 so £120 off. Ordered a 7.5mg. Then the following morning another one popped up 😮 so £160 in referrals 👏🏼 must’ve been in a group chat or something Grin didn’t really want another pen after the one I’ve just ordered as I now have 3 in the fridge but also don’t want to waste the £40 credit sat there. Happy days though.

I’m an emotional eater, I had a tough day yesterday and had a few snaccidents 🤦🏻‍♀️

TeenLifeMum · 13/03/2025 11:00

@Della82 “snaccidents”! I love it.

Della82 · 13/03/2025 11:02

W18 D1
SW 90
CW 73.2

loss for W17 0.8kg

Had a challenging day yesterday and did have some chocolate and hot cross buns (note the plural 🤦🏻‍♀️)

onwards and downwards!

my initial goal weight was 70 so I am getting close, I will see how I feel when I get there and decide what the next steps will be.

i definitely want some form of maintenance so will be mindful of that as I reach target.

Lots of positive progress for many people here which is terrific!

wishing a whoosh for all the stallers-it will come!

We’ve got this 💪

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 13/03/2025 11:32

Has anyone else noticed that although you’re smaller all over, problem areas are still disproportionately big? Or have they started to melt away? My lower abdomen/C-section roll has always been out of proportion, and although it’s smaller, it’s still there and sticks out. I’m hoping that once I get to a low enough BMI it will shrink back to a more normal silhouette. Can anyone give me hope that this is actually going to happen?

Della82 · 13/03/2025 12:03

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar my problem areas are still bigger but they are definitely improving!
I’ll let you know when I have washboard abs 😂😂😂😂😂😂

jay55 · 13/03/2025 12:15

My bottom half is absolutely disproportionately large still compared to the rest of me.

Though wore another summer dress yesterday that had loads more space on the hips and over my upper arms. I was actually glad I'd put it in as it's close to being too sack like and I really love the pattern.

I'm still trying to get back to my low, scales stubbornly staying the same.

Great to hear about people getting close to goal. Feel like I'll have so much info on maintenance from you all by the time I get there.

As someone who hasn't always been overweight - at my normal size I still had problem areas - I have lipodema so my legs are always disproportionately big, but I have small boobs and not much belly to speak of. I seem to be reducing down in line with this, so the weight is coming off everywhere but far more noticeably from my boobs and midsection than lower half.

Cantbesure · 13/03/2025 12:35

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar I've still got my c section apron although it is smaller. My boobs have definitely shrunk, I've lost over 3 inches. I've also lost from my bum. The sea that hasn't shifted as I'd like is my waist. I've only lost an inch. My subcutaneous fat levels are still showing as high even though most of the measures in my smart scales have moved to green.

I've noticed that my (still very 'womanly' by any standard) hips have proportionately reduced more quickly than usual. My tummy is hanging on as disproportionately big though. To be fair to it, it was the worst problem area at my heaviest, making even my substantial ass look comparatively small.

MsRumpole · 13/03/2025 13:51

Have any emotional eaters noticed that Mounjaro really brings to the fore the difference between eating for comfort and eating for nourishment? I quite often find now that my brain is begging me to eat rubbish to feel better but my stomach is just in the background going "Hard NO". Pre Mounjaro, I would not have been able to tell the difference - hunger was just hunger.

MsRumpole · 13/03/2025 13:52

My bottom half has always been disproportionate to my top - bum like a shelf, big thighs. I do remember during a brief thin spell in my 20s the horror of realising that even when the rest of me was a size 12-14 my legs were not going to fit into standard knee-length boots.
