Welcome to thread 8 to MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we Spring forward into a new season...and consider new swimwear and Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W17 D3 and on my fourth 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 6.4 lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 32.6lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

I've started doing some weights every other day at home and working on increasing cardio even if it's just a dance around the kitchen. Maintaining your health is like a part time job in your 40s by the time you've sorted your skin, done eye heater thing to keep the tear ducts clear and cooked a gazillion vegetables!

Edited

Um, talk eye heaters to me? This sounds like exactly what my peri eyes would like - what do I need to google!

MounjNewb · 12/03/2025 10:55

Notwithstanding that it's not official weigh day (Sundays).....

....and I am 2 steps forward, 1 back every week with lowest weight mid-week and a bit back on by Sunday morning.....

....and I might adjust my goal weight down a nudge.....

10St 10 on the scales this morning - I made it!!🎉🎉🍾

Pumpkinforever · 12/03/2025 11:28

Some fantastic updates! @Polomintsareround @IHateMozzies @Demjay @MounjNewb Every pound counts

Great to hear the two week plateau broke @evilharpy Having broke mine I think I understand what people mean by just keep going. I upped my calories slightly in case I was too low and increased my water intake. Before MJ I would have just given up on a plateau.

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar love another stone loss marker

In beauty new I am loving the Trinny London Elavate neck cream. I need to get back into using my face mask again. Fully agree that beauty and health has become a part time job in its own right.

I am tempted to book onto the Marylebone clinic @Mounjaropen The NHS is so preoccupied with so much stuff that is not patient centred; it’s a real bug bear of mine considering the number of staff employed and the money it is given. I had former work colleagues who used to return to France/Spain because it was quicker/cheaper to get health issues addressed in home countries rather than wait for the NHS. Sorry rant over…

Today is weight log and jab day for me. About to do jab number 20 and have finally broken the 3.5 stone lost barrier and gone into the 11s. Less than a stone to go but to be honest, I feel pretty happy at my current weight. Still officially overweight according to BMI but feeling good and conscious of not losing too much from my middle aged face. Loving reading about everyone’s progress! Just hope I can maintain as I love not feeling embarrassed by my size

This is the one my optician recommended as my eye ducts were getting blocked https://amzn.eu/d/3YlOTmm

Use daily for 10 mins. Just need to warm in microwave. It's very relaxing but often makes me snooze!

Lovely stuff. Thank you. I think my right eye might have a bit of a blockage as it's quite watery, ironically after a lot of peri dry eye.

@Cantbesure I'm going to get my photo sorted to try to move to Oushk. I have read quite a few positive experiences, and although my legs have slimmed massively, and I am much slimmer than I was, I do still have fat rolls on my stomach. Clearly, now that Boots have told me no upping my dose, I have lost NOTHING this week. Part of the issue is my daily weighing, so I catch my weight at the lowest point, and then it fluctuates, and a bit more goes on. That has all be coming off straight away, but this week I have only just made it back to my lowest point (where I was this time last week). I have actually been eating really well this week, so that isn't an obvious explanation. I do wonder if it might be partly down to my messed up peri-menopausal hormones though. I think mounjaro is making my hormones even more confused, which isn't helping. So, I would like to try to move to 7.5 just to hopefully kick off those last difficult 11lbs.

The other thing I realised is that if I weighted at the end of the day, with clothes on (like I did when I did Weight Watchers), I'd be at least 5-7lbs heavier. Which for me, means it is a bit daft that Boots halt increased doses the second you hit a 'healthy' weight. If I'd weighted myself at the end of the day with clothes on, they probably would have given it to me.

Anyway, today I'm going to ignore all of that, and I'm going to apply my Trinny Elevator to my decolte (and neck, although it is my decolte that needs it most). And I got the Trinny face cleanser (I hate having lots of choice because I never know what is best), and I'm going to do some syruming. And tomorrow, I'll look like a new woman 😂(well, maybe not tomorrow, but apparently in 4 weeks, I'm going to be a new woman). So that is nice. Let's just hope that my expectations are not completely skewed by the fact that size-wise, I'm getting closer to much younger me (I'm now aiming at 30s me), and I AM hoping that these super sonic skin care products are going to take the years off my skin in the same way I feel like mounjaro has taken them off my size 😂

After despairing that the scales hadn't budged in two weeks, they have now dropped nearly 4bs since Sunday!

WOOHOO!!!!

phyllidafosset · 12/03/2025 17:42

Mounjaropen · 12/03/2025 09:29

🥳 mine haven’t moved for 2 weeks either, hoping for a whoosh this week 🤞🏻

Wishing you a woosh! It is actually kind of reassuring to know that other people have (temporarily) stalled. Everyone has had such amazing losses, but it is also great to hear that those stalls can be followed by a woosh! It is VERY hard to be patient!

Demjay · 12/03/2025 09:35

Hello all, I managed to drop off the map for a while. I had to take a couple of weeks off because my side effects were getting so bad 😔. Off the jabs I started putting on weight 😱. Fills me with dread tbh about just putting it all back on again after all this! But for now I’m back on and back to losing weight. Side effects still rough but manageable. I’m doing 45 clicks from a 7.5mg pen- so 5mg,

The big win this morning is I finally saw a 9 at the front of the scales 😱- that must be a first for at least 10 or so years.
SW 12 stone 10
CW 9 stone 13.2.
Total loss 38.8 lbs!

Ohhh! congratulations on that 9. I am very impatiently waiting for that 9 to appear.

Cantbesure · 12/03/2025 17:51

@phyllidafosset I found the move to oushk really easy. Remember the code welcome for £30 off (no kickback for me like MedExpress!). I've really liked 7.5mg it's been almost like being back on 2.5mg for me and I lost 2+lbs a week the first 2 weeks on it. It's slowed down this week and I'm only half a lb down this week. But my suppression and food noise is great (other than delaying my dose a day and having a Burger King 🙈😂)

Been in a face to face meeting with people I haven't seen for a while today and had lots of lovely comments about how well I was looking. 6lbs away from my target now. Although I will probably aim for 13lbs if I'm not looking too saggy!

It really is - have to keep telling myself that I'm still 3st down despite a few stalls so I have to trust the process!

If anyone here has a blue light card or works for NHS it's worth checking if your supplier has a discount scheme. I've dropped couple an email and had a yes from both

TeenLifeMum · 12/03/2025 20:58

I’ve hit a block this fortnight, no loss at all. The drama in my life keeps coming but I know eating isn’t going to solve it so need to keep going and losing weight. I’m hoping the next dose up will help with my suppression and help me get to the final goal weight. I’ve stuck at 10st 9. “Healthy” bmi is 10st 5 so I’m so close but it feels hard right now.
