Welcome to thread 8 to MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we Spring forward into a new season...and consider new swimwear and Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W17 D3 and on my fourth 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 6.4 lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 32.6lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

I have had a purge @Cantbesure cleared out all my size 20 stuff. I don’t want to go back to that size so I am keeping nothing because of a ‘just in case’ moment. Some 18s now looking too baggy but some of those could be because I forced them over my size 20 body. Baggy pants and bras have gone. But like @DarkForces jim-jams I have kept for some reason. A friend said at the weekend she could tell I had lost weight in spite of my baggy clothes 😂. I reckon I would just about be a 16 now in M&S and the like.

Polomintsareround · 12/03/2025 06:37

Morning everyone,
just to confuse you, its me ….., @Lovealongbath

Weekly weigh in on 3.25mg dose..

SW 18st 4
CW 16st 1.3
1lb loss this week
total loss so far 2 stone 2.5lbs

SBMI 43
CBMI 38
Still a long way to go to be in healthy range.

I am a day early for my weekly check in as I am meeting friends today a much needed catch up over lunch at lovely restaurant so I am going to enjoy that without thinking of weigh day tomorrow.

I am noticing differences this week, I have been walking a circuit in our local park 4-5 times a week. One side is flat, and the other side is quite mountainous. Well…
the mountains have become hills . To begin with I couldn’t walk up the hill without stopping at least twice to catch my breath and my heart rate was about 140bpm. Now, I can march up, no stopping until at the top, my heart rate is on average 122 bpm at the top. ♥️

Another positive change is my face, possibly due to drinking much more water, no alcohol, new skin care routine and taking collagen. My skin looks and feels amazing,
and I have lost the jowls and bloated roundness. My cheeks have definition, and I am accepting of the fine lines are appearing .

Talking of fine lines, can we please have an LED face mask update from the owners of them. Do you notice a difference or waste of money?

Well done to everyone on the great losses, we can do this 💪

evilharpy · 12/03/2025 07:33

@Polomintsareround I bought a very cheap LED mask (Lux Skin brand). About £40 new but I paid about £15 on Vinted. I've been doing 10 mins on red and 10 mins on blue about 5 times a week alongside starting soolantra again as my rosacea has flared up badly. I do think it's making a difference. I will never have amazing skin sadly due to rosacea but it looks calmer and less bumpy.

evilharpy · 12/03/2025 07:34

After despairing that the scales hadn't budged in two weeks, they have now dropped nearly 4bs since Sunday!

random223 · 12/03/2025 07:41

Morning all. Great updates.

NSV for me - I am no longer heavier than my lovely husband. He is considerably taller than me and is not overweight but it makes me feel better for some reason.

I am not sure on the clothes thing - I want to have a clear-out but I have been up and down so many times in the past. Think I am going to wait until I (hopefully) get to goal. Current BMI : 28

I am loving hearing about these differences you’ve been finding! You are doing so well. The NSVs are really inspirational. ❤️

I’ve got the Shark LED mask (from my research the best one is probably the Current Body 2, but the price was quite a bit more and they only have a red light, which is great for anti aging, but I wanted a blue light too for my spot prone skin) (dry but spotty skin! Very annoying!). I haven’t managed to use it every day but I’ve definitely noticed an improvement. My skin is clearer and seems more glowy / dewy if that makes sense? I’ve been focusing on the anti blemish mode though. Will switch to anti aging at some point.

One thing to be aware of though is that is has ‘under eye cooling’ pads which are lovely, but by virtue of them being there they physically block the light to the under eye area. Not sure if other masks cover that area or not though. I paid 269.99 from Boots (with free next day delivery and got the advantage card points too).

Enjoy today!

Goldleafcat · 12/03/2025 08:09

@Mounjaropen Amazing changes to your stats! I’m so pleased!

IHateMozzies · 12/03/2025 08:14

Weigh in day! 1.25 lbs. off making a total of 25.75 lbs! 🙌

So went to look round the gym last week but still haven’t joined! Excuses I know, but my husband is away with work next week so need to get that out of the way first!

DarkForces · 12/03/2025 08:19

I've started doing some weights every other day at home and working on increasing cardio even if it's just a dance around the kitchen. Maintaining your health is like a part time job in your 40s by the time you've sorted your skin, done eye heater thing to keep the tear ducts clear and cooked a gazillion vegetables!

Mounjaropen · 12/03/2025 09:16

Cantbesure · 11/03/2025 16:52

I wish I'd done the health trial now. I have bloods from about 4 years ago when I first asked for HRT but it didn't test cholesterol. I am in my 50s so would probably benefit from having bloods done.

You can just request a screen if you have any health concerns. The advantage of being this age is that you will more than likely get one- especially if you are experiencing tiredness symptoms.

Checking in, sorry life/work has been v busy.
Good to read everyone’s updates. @Mounjaropen sounds like your cholesterol is great after you worked it all out 😁
mine has been sat at about 6.5 for years and after 4 months on Wegovy - now tested at 5.1 which is good for me. I wonder if giving up the booze for a few months helped this too.

my weight is fairly static since the 🏃🏼‍♀️ 💩🩲🚽 incidents of the other week. Had a busy girls weekend away - made the decision to keep away from the alcohol which was fine but did indulge in some rich food and the trots came back Sunday night with a vengeance so didn’t jab, have delayed a few days until I can get my eating back on track…..

Congrats on your cholesterol reduction too! Bad luck on the trots, hope things get better soon. Are you keeping a food diary to see what triggers it?

Ooh catching up on everyone's news! How exciting some of you skinny bitches are almost at goal - that's brilliant!

And good to learn that the expensive death jabs are actually good for cholesterol 😂 Top results @Mounjaropen

I'm in London this week for work, so enjoying overpriced but utterly delicious salad bowls (wanky London salads my mate calls them 😆)

I didn't lose any weight last week but I'm not too worried. I was a complete Debbie downer last week and barely moved my butt off my chair during office hours, so no surprise really. I was starting to worry suppression had worn off completely but I went up to 7.5mg yesterday and couldn't finish said wanky salad tonight!

Ooh love a wanky salad.

After an amazing food weekend in Dublin last weekend I rediscovered radishes (think I was put off them for life after 1970/1980’s mum salad) which I have sliced thinly this week onto salad to give a peppery hit. Lovely. Think Nigella does a roasted radish recipe which I might dig out. I’ve also bought celeriac this week which I might roast and also slice thinly to elevate a salad (although Meghan Markle has ruined the word elevate now 😆)

I also have a duck crown to roast which I will do with a simple Chinese 5 spice rub set on a rack over a roasting tin of water to remove the fat. It also means the skin crisps whilst the meat stays moist. I’m going to serve that with a fresh grapefruit/rocket salad with a honey and soy dressing. I bought’hot honey’ this week which should provide a spicy hit.

Is anyone having a purge of bigger clothes? I'm feeling the urge to get rid of them all!!

I think I might. I’ll stash the bras though. They’re too expensive to replace!

Hello all, I managed to drop off the map for a while. I had to take a couple of weeks off because my side effects were getting so bad 😔. Off the jabs I started putting on weight 😱. Fills me with dread tbh about just putting it all back on again after all this! But for now I’m back on and back to losing weight. Side effects still rough but manageable. I’m doing 45 clicks from a 7.5mg pen- so 5mg,

The big win this morning is I finally saw a 9 at the front of the scales 😱- that must be a first for at least 10 or so years.

@Mounjaropen Amazing changes to your stats! I’m so pleased!

Thanks. I’m glad I had something to refer to. In general if the NHS just loaded up the data we could all monitor our health more efficiently. There is a clinic in Marylebone that recently opened and provides a full, body scan/MOT style service which costs £299 but has a huge waiting list. The Times reviewed it last week I think. I can really see the appeal of things like this and if the NHS stopped setting fire to £’s by spending it on managers that add nothing to patient care or experience they might be able to spend money on preventative monitoring services like this or drugs like MJ. Overall it would save so much time and money in the long run.
