Welcome to thread 8 to MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we Spring forward into a new season...and consider new swimwear and Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W17 D3 and on my fourth 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 6.4 lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 32.6lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Ahh @SerenePeer that's a brilliant strategy!

I'm a home exerciser so tend to reserve some exciting series for only while on the rowing machine/lifting. (24 was the best ever for this 🤣)

BlueWalker · 08/03/2025 10:01

It's the weekly weigh in for me. Accountability and all that jazz.

W17 D1
SW 16st 4lbs
CW 13st 5lbs
GW 10st (ish)
Total loss so far 2st 13lbs - so, so nearly a nice round (hah!) 3st but just not quite.
Dose: 10mg

People are definitely noticing. The comments are interesting; work acquaintances are commenting on my clothing (e.g. that dress really suits you). Friends are more direct and asking if I've lost weight. My husband just tried to play my ribs like a xylophone.

Cantbesure · 08/03/2025 10:27

Had to share my amazing NSV today. Thought I'd try my hand at wide leg jeans. I've been building up from skinnies to cigarette jeans to straight leg. And just had a pair delivered from new look this morning. Size 10. And they fit comfortably!! Might be because they are looser as wide leg. But I'm happy!!

evilharpy · 08/03/2025 09:27

Totally missed the new thread!

I haven't lost a single pound for two weeks. It's definitely not because of too many calories. I need to get past this plateau, it's shite :(

I’ve slowed right down this week. Keep going! There will be highs and lows. Which dose are you on?

I’m totally on board with that. Currently watching the Night Agent for my incline walks. Utter nonsense but keeps me going. As did 6 seasons of the Kardashian’s 😂

My weight loss has slowed to about half a pound a week which I'm finding a bit disheartening as my diet is about as low calorie as it could be without compromising nut. I'm trying to get more exercise. I'm rubbish at sticking to it but going to try alternating dance for cardio with weights

BeNavyScroller · 08/03/2025 11:42

Now definitely in the 9s but only 3lb off being overweight again. Oh the joys of being a shorty!

NSV I’m wearing a pair of size 10 jeans and they aren’t in the least bit tight.

Had polynucleotide eye treatment this morning so I’m off out to buy new sunglasses. A new swimsuit will follow ready for summer.

The loose skin situation is dreadful. I do indeed look like the melted candle @Mounjaropen warned of. I need to up the exercise (read start).

Last week on the Sunday I was 12st 5 so I weighed myself today Don't know why and it says 11st 5 it can't be a full stone in a week

I finally went up to 7.5mg last week. The gastric side effects and food aversion were too bad, I couldn't go up any sooner. Now I'm back on the trapped wind and eggy burps but feeling a bit hungrier.

I still have about 3st to go so far too early for a plateau haha!

Well done to all those with the fantastic NSVs! Love wardrobe related wins 🥰

Sadly DH’s aunt has just passed away (an absolutely lovely lady who sadly suffered with Alzheimer’s these past few years). Not sure when the funeral will be yet but have started looking in my wardrobe for what I might wear. I have one dress which may work but it has some flowers on it (black with coloured flowers) and last time I wore something like that DH’s mum pulled a face. Have panic ordered this dress (in an 18 from M&S) :

Not sure how my tummy will look in it though!

That’s a lovely dress. Maybe add a black jacket to the dress you have? M&S do a shapewear slip that has straps that pulls in your tummy and flattens your shape to just under your bra. They are very good.

I have that dreaded weight won't settle on a value this week - 2lb off, 2 lb on, 1 lb off. Aaagh - I don't mind not losing (I do actually!) - but I really hate thinking I have lost and then finding I haven't! It was how I felt dieting all the time pre- MJ. Official weigh in tomorrow morning so fingers crossed. Well done all who have had a better week !

Goldleafcat · 08/03/2025 15:21

@Mounjaropen thank you, I shall be taking a look at shapewear! Will see how the dress looks on when it arrives.

Polomintsareround · 09/03/2025 03:05

Hi all, it’s @lovealongbath

I have been really lucky that haven’t really had any major side effects but
I moved up to 3.25 on Thursday and since then I have fallen asleep every night by 9.30pm, slept for approximately 4 hours, then awake for at least 3 hours.

I just want to 💤💤💤💤💤

IndigoHexagon · 09/03/2025 09:33

Fantastic weigh in this morning!
82.4kg - which is 12st 13.6lbs! Officially under my 13st nemesis (where previous weight loss attempts tend to stall/rebound!)

Next goal - just 1.6lbs and I will have lost a total of 5stone since 30/09 (had four weeks of going it alone before starting MJ).

Weather is beautiful here today so heading out for a walk with the dog in a bit to celebrate!

Urgh, I have reformer Pilates shortly and I had gin last night. Send help.

phyllidafosset · 09/03/2025 10:06

Had a very frustrating weight loss week @random223 similar to you. Actually it has been two weeks! Great loss last week, then back on, then back to ground zero (of last week), and was worrying I would lose nothing this week. But fortunately, 1 lb off today (from yesterday). So at least I am lower. None of this would be so much of an issue except that Boots (I know, the MOST expensive supplier 🤦‍♀️ I was scared of who to go with in the beginning) told me when i reordered my pen that because I am now in a healthy BMI I am now on maintenance, which means I can’t up my dose. My target is BMI 22. I wanted a bit of a buffer. I am on 5mg, and have been doing well (average 2lbs a week), so thought I’d do that for the next month, and then I thought I might move up to 7.5 just to pressure off those last lbs. But after this week, I’m having a panic that I will stall, and won’t be able to get the last bit off.

I am feeling SO much better than I was before I started, and I don’t want to be weight-loss greedy, but it will be a big disappointment not to get to my goal weight. I am wondering if I can do it by maybe upping the exercise and trying really hard to ignore the end of jab-week hunger. 5mg has been working well up to this week (which did, involve two pieces of a large birthday cake - one because I was taking part and the other because I felt bad about the first 🤦‍♀️ not a healthy rationale 🤦‍♀️).

None of this is really significant in the grand scheme of things, I realise! I have been getting closer to dipping below my next stone category and I just want to feel confident I can get to my GW! 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Cantbesure · 09/03/2025 10:34

@IndigoHexagon OMG almost a 5 stone loss. That's incredible. Well done. You must feel amazing.

@Goldleafcat good luck with Pilates. I had a few wines last night (which just sent me to sleep!) and my will to go to the gym is very lacking. I might go later on so I don't feel I'm missing out of the sunshine. My house also needs a good clean today...

@phyllidafosset huge congrats on getting to a healthy BMI. I'm currently a pound or two away and can't wait for that milestone. It sounds like you have it under control but you can still switch providers if you are looking for more flexibility and to spend less money. I moved to oushk for this pen for the same reason (other providers do flexible maintenance too such as cloud pharmacy). It was £140 for 7.5 with the welcome code and there's a £15 off offer each month (no affiliate codes like med express). I've got a maintenance appt in late April to discuss my maintenance plans and once you get codes for £15 off and free postage.

I'm worried I won't be able to keep the weight off alone so am interested in the flexi plan once I've got to goal weight (prob around BMI 23). I'd be happy to pay £15 a month knowing I could then get a pen at any point to help. I'd prefer not to need it but like the idea of that option being available.

I'm still a way off yet as BMI 23 is another stone away and at 1lb a month it could take 13 weeks. But what happens next occupies a lot of my brain space.

JasonTindallsTan · 09/03/2025 10:41

Hi all, I’ve been a bit awol, still chugging on but it’s slow going. Really high suppression on the 10mg pen though so I think I will stick with that for another round. No idea what week I’m up to.17ish? Maybe?

Anyway, 2 stone 4lb off.
