I have switched today's dose to am. The main side effect I've had is intense indigestion/nausea at about 3am after the jab, I think it might be because I'm lying down for hours just as the medication is starting to take effect. I'll be carrying some meds around at work today and hopefully I'll have less indigestion.

Week 2 loss is about half a kilo which I'm not surprised by since I've definitely overdone it on a few days. Happy it's still heading in the right direction.

Sw: 116.5kg
Gw: 72-75kg
Cw: 111.7kg
Loss: 4.3kg

ExplodingCarrots · 19/02/2025 07:49

Morning all. 2lb off for me this week. Will be taking third jab later .
I've been in a massive deficit this week due to just not wanting to eat much so I was expecting more than 2lb BUT I'm still happy and it's a loss and I'm just one of those people where it doesn't come off in chunks.

SW - 190lbs - 13st 8
CW - 184lbs - 13st 2

OntheTrainX · 19/02/2025 07:59

One week in - I’ll do the second jab later.

SW 14 stone 10
CW 14 stone 2

so an 8lb (3.6kg) loss.

Water loss, but still really motivating. I’ve been doing a lot of exercise too, which I’m now encouraged to stick to.

Hello
I've just started taking Mounjaro thru Juniper. I paid &125 to start for the first dosage, then it goes up to £230 for the next dose.
Are there any tricks/ways to get reductions on these payments?!
Thank you!

Well done everyone some great losses!
3rd jab this morning complete and my week 2 weigh in, another 2lb off so total 12lb off..as others have said will be water initially but has motivated me to keep in the zone!

Can't remember If I said here but another plus is my anxiety. I'm on setraline and take propanalol if required and while on this, can't see the need for the propanalol. I feel way more chilled out!! Such a wonder drug. I'm beginning to wish I'd bought shares in it :)
Goal for yhis week is to up (start) exercising as have done nothing last 2 weeks... xx

ridiculouslyridiculous · 19/02/2025 08:24

Hello everyone.
I've just done my first jab! Completely painless which was a nice surprise! I've got three stone to lose so fingers crossed this works for me 🤞🏻

Waiting on my first delivery so would love to join this thread. Very nervous but determined to final get the weight off. Spent years up and down weight wise tried all the different ways and diets as I suppose all you guys have as well.
Recently became a Gran for the first time and I want to get healthier for my grandchild and my kids. Have to make the change and after a relative had some great results on MJ found these threads on Mums net. Not telling ev1 in my life so would love to be able to have people to chat to on here about my journey. Starting weight 16 st 10 so a way to go.

Any advice to a complete newbie?

Welcome welcome! And huge congratulations Grandma 💐

My advice is fibre fibre fibre! From my experience I was super backed up that first week but some fibre supplements and a probiotic have helped keep me regular. I also heard Electrolytes were helpful so I'm having one of those tablets in a morning and another after I work out. I'm peeing like a racehorse 🙈

There's a thread for discount codes on the WLI threads for sharing codes 💐

Love the username @MissionToSize10 - I'm tentatively aiming for size 12 but would secretly love to make it to a 10! Good luck 😃

@Zibb I'm quite sensitive to caffeine so only have one coffee per day, and honestly HATE plain water so am drinking a lot of herbal/mint/green/fruit tea. Personally I tend to sweeten mine with artificial sweeteners, which I know is frowned on (and can apparently make MJ gastric side effects worse) but I see as 'less bad' than the alternatives of not drinking enough water or consuming huge amounts of sugar/honey daily.

Lorelaigilmore88 · 19/02/2025 08:47

Hello everyone :) i am currently waiting in for my first delivery mounjaro which is due in the next hour! I'm really excited to get started!

I'm 18 stone 2 lb, 5'10 tall.
I don't know what my target weight is really. I have a lot to lose to get to a healthy weight so any weight loss is a good thing. I have set unrealistic targets before so keeping it one pound at a time!

I am so glad i have this thread. I haven't told people irl... i don't know why really, I just felt embarrassed, which is silly.

Anyway, very excited! :)

Hi @ZubinB! All the private pharmacies authorised by the GPhC to dispense Mounjaro are listed here -

Mounjaro Discount Price List UK | Reduced Prices

The above sets out all the discounts etc, and as @ScottyDOESknow says there's also a promo code section on here for those where you need a referral. Juniper is one of the priciest - I can see why you'd want to go with them for your first pen as they seem to offer really good support etc (I did similar with my first pen which I ordered through Oushk) but really there's no need to stick with them. Lots of people regularly switch according to which prescriber has the best deals/overall prices - you usually just need a copy of your prescription (or a photo of the box with your name on it) and new photos/confirmation of weight and health conditions.

I switched to Pillsorted for my second pen (who were great and very easy/prompt) and am looking at Medicine Market Place once I need to order my third and subsequent pens (as they seem to have the lowest prices at the higher doses). Good luck!

StitchH · 19/02/2025 08:53

Good Morning all,

2nd jab was yesterday and have abit of nausea again today (exactly 24 hours later). Not unbearable and no other side effects to report this time.

Seen it a few times but definitely another advocate for measuring as well as weighing. I use a calorie app to make sure I am not starving myself but it also allows me to track measurements.

Acolite · 19/02/2025 09:10

Well done to all the losers and welcome to the newbies. I'm an old hand now at day 3/4. 😀
I tried to poach an egg again for breakfast with terrible results. Had to chuck the first and try again. I consider myself a reasonably good cook, but maybe this is beyond me. Any poached egg tips?

Feb2025start · 19/02/2025 09:13

@sc0ttishlass that's great re your anxiety! I'm on Mirtazipine long term and (while I've no plans to stop my regular dose - past experience suggests this does not go well for me 😬) I am most definitely feeling a noticeable uplift in mood, energy, optimism/motivation and general 'chilled-ness'!

It may be a kind of placebo effect due to the fact that this seems to actually be WORKING but regardless, I'll take it as an unexpected side effect 😊

sc0ttishlass · 19/02/2025 09:39

@Feb2025start chilled-Ness is a good word to describe it!
Definitely not stopping thr sertaline (evrr!) I had a major issue last year when forgetting it on holiday and the side effects were awful :( probably added even more to the weight gain situation i was in! X

@Acolite yes! Boil kettle, water in pan: you don’t need to fill it. Then just as bubbles start appearing crack egg in and leave it for two minutes (maybe a tad longer if it’s a big egg) Don’t let the water boil too much. Scoop out with slotted spoon.

TriangleLight · 19/02/2025 09:52

im awaiting approval for my first pen, had to send more photos 🙈

j00ls106 · 19/02/2025 09:52

SW 17st 11lb
CW 17st 1.5lb - 9.5lb loss

W2D1 Took my my injection a day early as not back at work til Friday

I know this is mainly water loss so probably won’t lose as much next week but I’m very happy with this. I am mainly sticking to clean eating. Drinking 2-3 litres daily. Exercise when at work lots of steps!! But not as much on my days off.
I've had heartburn most days, mild headache and an upset stomach, but Imodium sorted that out 😀Food noise from day 5 onwards but find the less busier I am the more I hear it 😂

I have noticed that my blood pressure has reduced to nearly normal levels and my blood sugars are now within normal range. I am on meds for these.

What exercises do you do? Apart from my walking at work (work 12.5 hour shifts) I don’t tend to do anything else on my days off but I know I need to change this.

Good luck all on your weight loss journey.

Itsbathtime · 19/02/2025 09:55

Oops posted on wrong thread - will repeat question here: how are others doing 2-4 weeks in in terms of side effects? I’ve still got diarreah and nausea first thing - by lunchtime feel great - but still bit tedious - and waking up v early in morning w tummy cramps many days. So not sleeping enough. Wondering how long will last (due for 3rd jab tomorrow but think I will do 1/2 dose again until they subside - on 1.25 at mo)

Ke11 · 19/02/2025 10:03

@Acolite I've read and also get best results with very fresh eggs, also crack it into a sieve first to get rid of the watery stuff, that's usually the part that makes a mess

MsJuniper · 19/02/2025 10:36

Hi everyone. I've been reading these threads a long time now and finally placed an order via Asda. I do have diabetes so I don't know if that will complicate the process.

I lost a lot of weight a few years ago on LighterLife which took me out of diabetic range but it all came back and I feel permanently depressed and embarrassed about my weight (almost 17 stone) and worried for my future and my children's future.

I also have a lot of trouble just getting on with life and when I heard about the injections helping to eliminate food noise and even help with procrastination I felt for the first time like others understand and feel the same way as me. I'm not lazy or stupid but this has ruled my life for so long. This feels like a potential light at the end of the tunnel.

Hopefully I'll be joining you soon on the journey - wishing you all well in the meantime.

SpiralSister · 19/02/2025 11:22

Morning all! Week 2 Day 2.

Sorry to those who are having side effects, they sound a right pain. My only one so far is the cessation of my IBS. It’s like a miracle, honestly.

I’ve had no suppression at all either, mind you - until yesterday. I found I was full up really quickly, which is great. I will have to rethink portion size to avoid the waste!

I still have all the food noise, imagining all my lovely meals, then dish them up and it’s meh. 🫤

Mindset change incoming..

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 19/02/2025 11:23

@MsJuniper if you have diabetes and are already on meds for it then you might qualify for free prescriptions.

I went to see my GP as my blood sugars were unstable despite medication. My BMI was "only" 27.5 ie overweight but not obese. I also have high blood pressure. It was a really thorough consultation and he prescribed

Please have a chat with your diabetes nurse as she/he will be able to advise.

SpiralSister · 19/02/2025 11:23

Oh, and despite not losing much yet, I am nearly into a pair of size 16 jeans!

Chrestomanciscat · 19/02/2025 11:28

I think I've just done something really stupid. I injected today instead of tomoro but couldn't find my pack of needles and wipes. I still had last week's so I've used that. I left it in just boiled water from the kettle to clean it. But now im worried I've given myself an infection or something. Has anyone done this ?
