I'm starting soon, have an order on its way.

I'm going to try about 1200 cals if I can as I wasn't losing on 1600 @Probablyawake .2000-2200 is what I eat normally, so no way I'd lose weight on that.

Ke11 · 27/02/2025 17:47

@OverTheTopOfTheMountain & @SpiralSister I've done 4 jabs so far, all in the thigh, alternating sides each week and I had a tiny bit leak out from the site on dose 2 and 3 and a little bit on the needle too. Week 4 I had neither. It seems to be quite normal. I did make an effort to remove the needle quickly and as straight as I could on jab 4 after a quick count to 5, I don't know if it made the difference. It could just be less internal pressure in the pen after several uses.

I am actually really impressed about the improvement in my willpower even though it’s only be three days!

I don’t know if it’s a psychosomatic thing where I know I’ve spent a lot of money on this so it’s given me the motivation I need to put the work in but i was able to easily refuse McDonald’s for dinner last night as well as biscuits and cinnamon buns in the office today.

My colleague who offered me the cinnamon bun looked at me in real surprise and said ‘really?!’ when I turned down the buns. 😆

aylis · 27/02/2025 18:24

W1 D6 and I've had to use a LOT of willpower today. Resisted the biscuits are work but the worst was when I came home and my daughter was having fish fingers for dinner, they smelled amazing and I just wanted to eat the whole box smothered in ketchup😅

I expected tomorrow would be difficult and it looks like it will be.

You can plot your dose on this too.

I am splitting my dose so have 1/2 2 x per week. I can keep my dose more stable by injecting every 4 days. Mj has a 5 day half life so by injecting on the 4th the dose stays more stable. Didn't expect that!!!

Hi Poppins,
Well done on your weight loss! It's good to know you are feeling great on your dose. I am around a week behind you.

Please do let us know what your friend says about her experience since August. X

Hi FortyFix - thought I’d update on my meet up with my friend. To be honest, she didn’t really say a lot about it - the only side effect she had was some nausea for a few days after her jabs. She always jabs in her thighs. She took it from August to December and lost 2.5 stone. She stopped over Christmas and a holiday in January and then had a chest infection so hasn’t re-started, but wants to to lose another 10lbs. Her sister started it unbeknown to her - it came out somehow they were both on it. She did say a lot more people are taking it than we think and mentioned another friend of hers who is on it. Oh she said it’s vastly improved her inflammation too and she’s always freezing cold. Think that was about it really!

Currently on 2.5mg about to start week 3.
Need to order the 5mg and as with Med Express worried about the delays. Noticed cost had gone to £149.

Anyone getting the 5mg cheaper elsewhere?

Weight loss after 2 weeks 8lbs.

I ordered from MedExpress on Tuesday afternoon, had my prescription approved on Wednesday and received my 5mg pen today. It was pretty quick 👍🏻

flipflop76 · 27/02/2025 20:28

I'm day 2 and definitely very headachey and sicky feeling tonight. Hope it passes soon as I'm so busy at work!

MrsHero · 27/02/2025 20:36

I've got the pen in the fridge ready to go - tomorrow is my day off work so thought I'd wait until today in case of side effects. But now, I'm feeling really scared! Have got a real vomit phobia and desperately don't want it to make me sick!

Scottishshopaholic · 27/02/2025 20:47

Took my first injection on Sunday night. Weighed myself on Monday nigh, and just 30 minutes ago and I have already lost 2.5kg. I know it will mostly be water weight.

I have been amazed at the appetite suppression. Although I do think I had a craving for something sweet after dinner tonight, I had a protein pudding and i couldn’t finish it. I do think I will definitely need 5mg for the next order.

I have a lot to loose and don’t want to be on this for more than 6 months as I want to ttc a couple of months after stopping. It’s already making me nervous about the thought of regaining, I wonder if anyone has tried hypnotherapy when stopping?

Dont be afraid, your far more likely to have no side effects at all than actually be sick. Try not to eat anything too heavy or rich before you have it though.

Thank you. My husband's just done it for me so fingers crossed! I really hope it works!!

lilymty · 27/02/2025 21:09

I start last night & my reflux is terrible which i suffer with anyway. I have felt sick on & off all day but atm it's pretty bad. Just hoping I can get some good sleep. I haven't felt hungry at all today & have had to make myself eat.

MounjaroJourneyEm · 27/02/2025 21:28

Please can I join. I started last Friday but would prefer Thursday as my jab day so I’ve just done my second 2.5 jab.
i have a loooot of weigh to lose (over ten stone) and would love some support and give support as I don’t know anyone irl who’s using mounjaro.

OntheTrainX · 27/02/2025 21:38

Welcome and good luck to the very recent joiners!

Is anyone else having period issues since starting MJ? I’m on W3D5, 2.5mg but also taking HRT for perimenopause. Started bleeding on Saturday (only 10 days after last period) and I’m still going now - it’s really painful too. There’s quite a lot of chat on Reddit about MJ messing with your cycle and hormones but wondered if I’m alone in this? It’s pretty depressing to be honest…

Horseradish001 · 27/02/2025 22:01

Period issues? Yes I'm perimenopausal too so a bit irregular, but mine started this week possibly nearly a week early (cycle ranges from 24-29 days). For me the upside is it's been slightly lighter so far. Also I've eat my body weight in chocolate in the run up usually but I haven't done so this time.

So even if I don't lose this week due to period bloat I'm taking that as a victory. I've not really snacked at all (though I did have a punnet of raspberries this evening - first snack of the week). It's jab and weigh day for me tomorrow, so we'll see but I'm trying not to be discouraged and hoping that I'm not going to end up with more frequent periods.

Horseradish001 · 27/02/2025 22:02

To add, it's only my first week on 2.5!

Glad it’s not just me - my last period started (early) just after I started on MJ so I think it probably is messing things up. I’m with Juniper and the care team there said it’s quite common - wonder why it isn’t mentioned as a possible side effect? (Probably because the only side effects listed are those that affect men… 😐)

Hoping it settles down - planning on staying on 2.5 for a bit - the cramps are really bad at the moment though 😕

JimothyHalpert · 27/02/2025 22:11

I took my 3rd jab this evening and still no real side effects so feeling very lucky in that regard!

Starting weight: 193 lb
Goal weight: 126 lb
Current weight: 186 lb

So I've lost half a stone in two weeks which I think is pretty amazing 🤩
Today my stomach properly growled for the first time since I've been on the injections, so I really enjoyed my lunch!

flipflop76 · 27/02/2025 22:18

Since my first jab yesterday, I've started getting really tender and sore skin. My back feels tender to press and now it's my neck and waist too. Wondering if this is related? It's not muscular, definitely tender skin to the touch.
Also lots of nausea and headache feeling tonight argh!

Yes I have been having spotting since starting the injections. Really annoying.

Horseradish001 · 27/02/2025 22:20

@Hamster1234 sorry you are feeling rubbish.
I hope it improves.

Given glp1s affect hormones I guess it probably isn't all that surprising that it might affect this (and also given the way drugs are tested/reported on) that specifically female issues might be overlooked.

As I said I'm only nearly a week in, but the lack of food noise and the appetite supression (not complete, but enough to give me control of myself and my eating in a way I've not felt in years if ever) means I'm going to be prepared to put up with quite a large amount of period misery if I have to!

Mounjaroday · 27/02/2025 22:32

Just for fun, what is your weight loss equivalent to so far?

I’ve lost a Dachshund apparently. One more kilo and I’ll have lost an entire KitchenAid stand mixer 😂

Oh I agree - if it’s a toss up between the benefits vs a few months of period misery I’ll take the benefits hands down.

Will probably get checked with the doc though if this continues - make sure it is just the MJ 👍
