Anyone had this experience with caffeine?

I am usually sensitive to caffeine so limit my coffee to 2-3 cups per week and never after 3pm.

Yesterday, I had a coffee at 2:30 pm and then was awake last night, buzzing, until 4am.

I wonder if my digestion was slowed with the Mounjaro, was the caffeine also very delayed in being absorbed? I may have to limit my coffee to occasionally and only first thing in the morning if so.

Would this also delay absorption of things like paracetamol for a headache or sudafed for a cold, I wonder?

Morning all,

First week done for me and I’ve lost 5lbs! Feeling happy about that.

A definite NSV is not reaching for any chocolate, crisps, cake or biscuits this week. Whenever I have dieted before whether it be WW or calorie counting I’ve always tried to figure out how to fit in a treat into my plan. This week I just haven’t thought about those kinds of foods at all.

I’ve just taken my second jab in my other arm.

I was reading people had success with their arms and I have to say, I haven’t had any side effects in the last week at all - I’m so grateful.

We go away to the Canaries for a week in 5 weeks time, I’d love to have lost 1 stone by then.

Here’s to week 2!

Febnewbie · 20/02/2025 09:21

WelshRarebit79 · 19/02/2025 21:08

Hope you feel better soon. I found the side effects improved 2-3 days after I’d taken each dose. Very unpleasant though. Also wondering if I should really watch what I eat on the day before and after I jab.

Thank you!

How are you feeling now?

I didn't feel great last night at all, thought I might vomit but didn't in the end

I am really in two minds about whether to go up a dose, I think I might cut it quite fine on reordering to give myself as much time to see how it's going

Lorelaigilmore88 · 20/02/2025 09:21

Good morning! I had my first injection yesterday, and i feel like i have noticed the effects straight away... food noise is quieter! Its brilliant :)
I feel really positive and excited. Plenty of time to get ready for getting back into my lovely summer dresses that don't currently fit but i couldn't bear to get rid off.
Goof luck everyone xx

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 20/02/2025 09:42

@Mounjaroday I did my 4th dose on Tuesday, and yes absolutely loads left. It looks like a full dose, I wasn't expecting that much to be left.
Are you going to do the 5th bonus dose? I have ordered some insulin syringes and am going to do it. A bit scared of using an actual proper needle, but I was scared initially of injecting with the pen and that was fine.

Febnewbie · 20/02/2025 09:50

I was wavering on the bonus dose thing

On the one hand, I am a bit nervous of messing with the medication/ somehow ballsing it up but on the other hand, thinking about throwing away like £30 feels silly too

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 20/02/2025 09:54

@Febnewbie it really does feel like throwing money away. I'm going to give it a go. In fact my syringes have just arrived.
I will report back next week.

Mounjaroday · 20/02/2025 09:59

Took 4th dose (final 2.5mg before moving up to 5mg) last night … It’s weigh-in day!

SW 103.9kg
CW 96.9kg
⭐️ I’m now lighter than my husband!⭐️

This past week has not been great. Half term and we have been away; alcohol intake a bit high (couple of glasses per day) and not as strict on the diet, so very happy to see a 2kg loss this past week.

I can see myself being under 15 stone at some point soon. This is incredibly exciting!

I got mine from Chemist4u - Voy only gave me 4 needles and I'm 100% sure at some point I will drop or damage one. So I prepped with spares

Same, I have adhd among other things so my first thoughts when seeing the tiny clear needle containers were "where do I get more, I'm absolutely going to lose at least one of these over the next few weeks". The nice pharmacist did say they can give me an extra one if I do lose one but I just ordered a box for a few pounds and I'm set for a long time.

That's absolutely amazing 👏 well bloody done

PerditionCatchMySoul · 20/02/2025 10:58

Great to read everyone’s updates!

with the bonus dose, why do you need an insulin needle? What’s didfeeent about those needles than the ones they provide? And how do you get the liquid out, as the pen won’t turn anymore….? Maybe someone who has done it can explain!!

my 3rd dose is due tomorrow. I’ve had good suppression on 2.5, sometimes have to force myself to eat. I’m not sure about going up to 5mg…..

Hangryfastjo · 20/02/2025 11:17

First weigh in today and I do my second injection later.

SW: 14stone half lb
CW: 13 stone 10.5lb
4lb loss

Really happy with that, however I'm finding it hard to explain how much slimmer I feel, 🤣 after one week I feel like I've shrunk, which I know is ridiculous 🧐

Last couple of days although food noise hasn't returned ive definitely been hungrier. Side effects have been minimal and restricted to just feeling the cold. I'm loving reading all the post, very helpful.

Congrats @Hangryfastjo thats amazing.

Take measurements. I can almost guarantee that you probably are.
I felt like you so retook my measurements.
My first week I lost 3 inches on the waist and was shocked.

Ke11 · 20/02/2025 11:26

Day 2 of jab 3 and doing it in the morning instead worked well for me, no indigestion, slight stomach issues but nothing bad, I may stick to the mornings

Also down 2 sizes in jeans, yay. The smallest size is not comfortable yet but I can do them up, another week or two and I'll be wearing them

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 20/02/2025 11:27

I'm coming to end of week 2, this time last week I was definitely hungry but that could be hormonal because I'm not hungry at all today. I did nearly fall asleep in the office yesterday though, I've read tiredness can be a side effect so maybe have to watch that.
Loving seeing all your great losses, I'm actually looking forward to weighing tomorrow which in all my years of various diets etc, is a new feeling 😀

The pens/syringe thing is forcibly reminding me of IVF (many) years ago: in the end I actually preferred a needle and syringe as I felt more in control - weird!

Zibb · 20/02/2025 11:39

I am surrounded by cakes and pastries all day at work and I am struggling today. I would normally have a slice of whatever I fancied but I know if I had even a nibble of something I would spiral. I am a sugar fiend.

I am only on week 1 day 5. Will it get easier to refuse cake and treats as time goes on?

It will Zibb. From what people have said the first dose wears off faster and then as your body has more, it lasts a bit longer

Chrestomanciscat · 20/02/2025 11:44

@ScottyDOESknow thanks for the link they're in my basket 👍 its interesting im currently being assessed for ADHD as is my son.

Weighed in today at end if week 1 and am 14 stone 7 OR, 14 stone 9 depending which scales i use.

Either a 3 or 5 pound loss.

Does anyone have a link to the kind if needles/syringe needed to extract the bonus dose please?

MissionToSize10 · 20/02/2025 12:05

Can someone post a link the type of needles for the 5th dose please?

I am still figuring this out but I think basically -

The needles they provide screw on the pen

The insulin needles are on a syringe so basically you suck up the medication with the syringe and then inject yourself

partyfoodpickingpiggy · 20/02/2025 12:14

The 5th bonus dose (from what I have read) is the left overs as they overfill to allow for priming etc)

Some people have managed to force twist the pen, others have said manufacturers have wised up to this and newer pens it's impossible to do.

You can extract the last dose (0.6 on a syringe) by inserting it into the red seal.

I'm a bit nervous of doing this, but I am going to try as it's perfectly fine to use and within the 30 days of a pen being "open"

@MrsPepperpot79 it's good to read that you preferred this way, when doing your IVF.

Great to see thread 2 so busy and welcome all newcomers!
Amazing weigh loss on the thread and it really gives me motivation and hope for the next 3 weeks.
Today is infection day 2 which I will when home from work and weigh in day for me. Starting to mindlessly snack yesterday so obviously symptoms wearing off.
Starting weight was 93.8kg
Current Weight 91.2kg
Loss is 2.6ks (3.5lbs) its not water retention as I had lost that the two weeks prior doing ketos/ very low calorie diet (stupid I know). I have a work event this weekend and I really wanted to lose weight and fit into a jumpsuit I wore last year (when not obese). Tried it on this morning but it doesn't fit so now I need to panic buy something!!
My face is less inflamed and puffy looking. I have done no exercise so need to do that this week.

Febnewbie · 20/02/2025 12:34

My face is less inflamed and puffy looking

Mine too!

Am distracted by my own face on teams calls.. and a colleague told me I looked lovely this morning!
