Jab 3 done - thank god as the food noise has been awful and I've been a bit tanky today 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

WelshRarebit79 · 19/02/2025 18:51

Hi everyone, thought I’d join as I did my third jab on Sunday and I’ve been dipping into various threads on here.

My first week was fine and I lost a few pounds. However, a couple of days after both my second and third jabs I’ve had the most terrible nausea and D&V. I had to take a day off work yesterday as I was so poorly. It’s really putting me off taking the final dose at the weekend. Has anyone else experienced this?

MaddyM8 · 19/02/2025 20:46

Jab 2 for me tomorrow, bit nervous after the 1st jab and bad side effects for a few days. However, tonight is the first night since I took the jab where I am RAVENOUS, and the first night I've thought oooh fancy a takeaway! So the food noise has come back so definitely the jab makes that a lot quieter which is eye opening really. So hopefully tomorrow's jab goes better. Hope you're all doing OK!

Not as bad as you but I did the second jab yesterday and definitely don't feel as good as after the first.

Very headachy today and a bit of diarrhoea/urgency

Hope you feel better soon. I found the side effects improved 2-3 days after I’d taken each dose. Very unpleasant though. Also wondering if I should really watch what I eat on the day before and after I jab.

I was approved yesterday, still waiting for notification of dispatch - I'm hoping to have it by tomorrow as I wanted to take it on a Thursday night due to WFH on the Friday and then having the weekend to deal with any potential side effects. Also if it wears off towards the end Tues/Weds are my busiest days so that will hopefully help. I'm really nervous so of course I spent all of last night reading about negative side effects and was convinced I'm going to die 😆

My starting weight is 16st 5. I don't look like I'm that heavy but I feel it.

I eat decent meals and try to exercise 3 times a week but snacking is my downfall and god I just really want to stop craving crisps and sugar.

Almost thought I had posted this lol. I am the same waiting for thurs as I WFH on fridays. Mine rurned up today so sat waiting in the fridge desperately hoping I am one of the lucky ones who gets little to no side effects. Its a bit scary but also exciting.

flipflop76 · 19/02/2025 22:10

Hi all, I did my online consultation tonight and placed my order. Feeling very nervous! Hope they don't contact my GP!

FatBottomGirlz · 19/02/2025 22:28

Some ups and downs in week three for me. I was very sick after a couple of glasses of wine. I hadn't had any alcohol since week one. It was a bit of a party week in general, and I only lost 1/2lb, which is fair.

But now I'm in Week four, I no longer have any suppression and I'm starving. Trying to make good choices, but I'm over my 1200kcal each day. I have been exercising more, and I don't count those calories for eating, so maybe it's that.

Starting weight 14st 2.5lb
Week 1 13st 12lb, lost 4.5lb
Week 2 13st 9.5lb lost 2.5lb total 7lb
Week 3 13st 9lb lost 0.5lb total 7.5lb

TriangleLight · 19/02/2025 23:48

I’m still awaiting approval. Applied Friday, asked for new photographs. Uploaded those yesterday. I just want to start now!!

MrsPepperpot79 · 19/02/2025 23:50

Did it! First jab done - twisting that pen seemed to go on forever, almost thought I'd missed seeing the marker!
No side effects in the admittedly meagre 12 hours so far. Still thinking about food, and still definitely feeling hungry, but equally haven't gone snacking and a small thing (half a yoghurt pouch etc) left me feeling quite satisfied for an hour or so. Only had 1300 calories, including those for milk in tea etc which I always used to ignore! So much water drunk though! We'll see how it goes!
So glad to have this group - I've told no one irl as I feel very conflicted about being heavy enough to qualify and not relying on "move more, eat less' (which is tricky given my immune-related arthritis!)
Anyhow, my SW is 197.2lb/89.45kg and aiming initially for 80kg, with a long term goal of getting back into the healthy range at 70kg.

Mounjaroday · 19/02/2025 23:58

Have just injected #4. There’s still an inch of liquid in the syringe … is that the bonus dose people have been talking about?

Had indigestion type cough and nose drip overnight. Just took some Rennie and it seems to have settled.

It’s all very straightforward, honestly! Are you worried about side effects? Not everyone gets them, and for most that do they are manageable.

Can I ask why you don’t want your GP to know? They really should.

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 20/02/2025 06:50

Thanks, I think I'm worried she wouldn't get it and think I should just do diet and exercise. I'm on two other meds but they aren't meant to interact.
Yes worried about side effects but hopefully I'll be ok!

I think a bit of shame and worried she won't get it. She's really slim and I'm worried she will think I'm lazy and should just do diet and exercise! Not as simple as that though!

Mounjaroday · 20/02/2025 07:08

I think they will contact your GP as standard.
Your GP won’t be in the least surprised to see yet another patient going privately for this medication. You will not be the first by any stretch.

Well, frankly, it’s only her medical opinion that is relevant here, not her personal judgements. And if you have other conditions, it’s really important that she knows, in the highly unlikely event that you get ill with Mounjaro.

I get the shame and not wanting to be judged thing, honestly I do. I haven’t told a soul myself. But I do want my GP to know, because this is our health!

It’s odd, isn’t it, the judgements? Because this is not an easy option. I am convinced that many people don’t actually like seeing fat people lose weight. When I have lost significant amounts of weight in the past, people often said ‘oh, don’t lose any more’ (the unmitigated cheek of it!) when I was still actually overweight.

Honestly, fuck that noise! This is for US!

Febnewbie · 20/02/2025 07:21

Cloud pharmacy offered the choice of GP contact or not - so I guess it depends on the prescriber

In other news - scales continue not to shift for me but I am convinced I am smaller, little things like my wedding ring is less tight, my double chin is less double etc so I tried on a pair of trousers that were too tight before and while they are still a bit snug, I can definitely wear them now!

I was starting to think I was imagining that I was getting smaller! I wonder when it will start to show on the scales

mysparkleismissing · 20/02/2025 07:32

Wow 245 messages already!

I don't think I shared this week's loss

-3 so -6 in 2 weeks!

14s 8 now very happy, tho still feeling hungrier this week but able to ignore it I'm out of routine with having had a few days off work

A PP asked about events we're slimming for I'm off to the US for 10 days in June for hubbie's 50th and my niece's wedding at the end of June. But a general healthier me really and hopefully improve issues with my foot/knee/hip

RememberDecember · 20/02/2025 07:33

@MrsPepperpot79 welcome! I know what you mean about the pen twist taking forever, I thought I had got it wrong! Also drinking so much water but I guess that can only be a good thing!

@Chrestomanciscat I'm sure you'll be fine if it was sterile. The end of a needle gets damaged/blunt with each use which is one of the reasons they aren't re usable.

You can pick up extra needles from any pharmacy, or order off amazon etc, they're just called pen needles usually.

I got mine from Chemist4u - Voy only gave me 4 needles and I'm 100% sure at some point I will drop or damage one. So I prepped with spares

I think you're spot on there! Only my hubby knows and one friend whose been through weight loss surgery.

I'm back from 2 days in London and a birthday meal for a family member. I had an amazing time in London and had whatever I wanted, just stopped when I felt full. I think that would have worked out OK, but I ate a lot at the meal last night. Weigh in tomorrow morning to see the damage, but I have to accept these occasions will arise. The weight will come off.

I have 3 family big birthdays coming up, my own 40th and my Dad's wedding in Summer.

If I can feel good by my 40th, shortly before my Dad's wedding (August) then I'll be happy. I bought some size 16 jeans, a gamble, they fit but don't look good 😅

@SpiralSister I agree, I lost weight a couple of years ago and got told I shouldn't lose more by my mum. I was still a size 16! At 5ft2, that does not look overly slim. People are weird about weight loss.
