November ‘24 Starters Thread 7 - The one where we might need smaller smalls 😉

1000 replies

Mounjaropen · 06/02/2025 08:15

Welcome to thread 7 to MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we move beyond the looooongest month and into February. Love is in the air for our new smaller selves and discovering clothes we use to wear ❤️

I’m on W14 D4 and on my third 5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 9.2lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look like a melted candle)
Total loss so far 29.2lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Happy Saturday everyone! Great to hear all the positive updates of smaller sizes and continuing weight loss success 🥰

I was wondering if anyone has any good responses to comments about your weight-loss? People are starting to comment when they see me, which is obviously well intended but i find it makes me squirm! I'm trying to just say thank you and change the subject... but is there a better way to respond?

Also increasingly they ask how I have lost the weight, which is awkward for me, as I have not told anyone (not even husband) about using mounjaro! I know i should be honest but my husband is very judgey about using medication to lose weight, so it would open a whole can of worms! Also I don't feel like random mum's in the playground who have previously been a bit bitchy about my appearance deserve the truth! Currently I'm mumbling about exercise, eating better and dry January... but was wondering if there is a better way to handle the questioning!

I haven’t told my husband either, He hates eggs so my pen is in an egg box as I know he would never touch the egg box.

Someone commented today that they noticed a difference in me. I just said I had stopped drinking cider, which I have, but I was a big cider drinker.

@MsRumpole i use nutracheck. I get a colourful bar chart showing my progress. I can switch between stones, pounds, bmi etc. And I get badges for amount of weight loss. At the moment the amount of weight I have lost is still less than the amount I have to lose as I am a tubby but I am getting there. The half way mark is a celebration point.

Does anyone use Ashford pharmacy for MJ? Thinking of switching from Lloyds.

I use Ashcroft and really like them:
Good standard prices so no need to chase referrals
Provide wipes and needles with pen
Apply one morning, delivered next day before 1pm
Straightforward to apply. Send updated stats with dated photo each month
Maintenance policy updated so offered now
Can phone or email if you need to get in touch.

I’ve had a few in the past couple of weeks - mainly school/club mums who have been very kind and complimentary but when they’ve asked how I’ve done it I’ve gone with the ‘eating better, no treats, hitting the gym’ which isn’t untrue…! I have told a few of my close friends what I’m doing, and they’re being really supportive, but I still feel there’s a bit of a stigma out there about WLI (or people are trying to catch you out and get you to admit it) - but maybe that’s just me being paranoid!

Pumpkinforever · 08/02/2025 17:12

@WellyBootsandPuddleSuits and @lostinchaos I have said that I am walking everyday getting in my 10k steps, stopped snacking, reduced processed food, less alcohol, sort of doing Michael Moseley stuff - semi fasting blah blah blah. They invariably say gosh that’s lots to do …. So I am telling the truth but just not all of it

DarkForces · 08/02/2025 17:44

I'm off on holiday in 2 weeks time to Guatemala and Belize. I have a number of pairs of linen trousers In my holiday wardrobe which are now loose but still wearable so I will take those. Ditto t shirts, so I don't need any more of those. My holiday dresses are all too big so I might buy a couple if I can find anything suitable in the shops next week. I've found some swimsuits which I haven't worn for years which now fit me, which was a nice surprise. Might need some shorts if I can find any nice ones in the shops. Next had some but they didn't suit me unfortunately.

What a wonderful holiday! Enjoy finding some new clothes!

Thanks for the new thread.

W14D7 for me
SW: 14 stone
CW: 11 st 12
GW : 10st ish

Lost 2lbs this week which is good but didn't really eat very healthily so will try harder next week.

Well done everyone.

Congrats! 2lbs is a lovely steady weight loss 🥰

Injection 11 for me yesterday so weigh in today

47F 5’3”

SW. 12 stone 2
CW. 10 stone 0
GW 1 10 stone whoop
GW2. 9 stone

A bit disappointed that the scale is sticking on having a 10 at the beginning but here’s to hitting the 9s this week!

That would be my lowest since 2013. I’ve bobbed between 10 and 12 stone since. I’m determined to get below 10 this time and stay there.

Smaller smalls news - I’ve ordered myself 3 bra and brief sets from the lemonade dolls sale. I hope they are supportive enough! First time I’ve bought matching briefs in maybe 25 years. What a thin person splurge!

Woo hoo for new undies! Two stone and twoLBS so far is amazing! 👏

Our fearless leader and biggest cheerleader @Mounjaropen enjoy your day at the rugby today in your size 10’s! I’m jealous on both counts. Although I have gone through my archive of various sized England t shirts and am pleased to fit comfortably in the smallest one I own currently. Shame it’s an L and the player has retired but I’m still taking it as a win!

😂

Had a fab day thanks! Many drinks were consumed 😆

Hey!!

I am a huge vinted fan. Great for buying some inexpensive holiday clothes that you can sell on after your holiday.

quick question…. Today is Jab day but my new pen isn’t due for delivery until Tuesday . Do I jab on Tuesday when it comes or should I wait until next Saturday?

Personally, I’d take it on Tuesday but maybe a pro rata dose and resume as normal on Saturday?

All was good until last night when I had some severe delayed gastric emptying!! Had to sit with the sick bowl all night! Luckily everything moved on a bit before bed and feel fine this morning x

Me three! Just entered this week's results having dared a 5th dose insulin syringe extraction. So, while I'm at it:
W13 D1
SW 16st 4lbs
CW 13st 11lbs
GW 10st (ish)
Dose: 7.5mg
Total loss so far: 2st 6lbs
I decided not to buy clothes while I was losing weight but had a 50% off voucher so I did slip. A shirred denim maxi dress a size smaller than I normally buy was delivered as I was doing the injection and it fits. So that's a new outfit for work on Monday sorted!

Congratulations on the losses! That’s a fantastic amount 👏

Enjoy tomorrow in your lovely new work dress🥰

Hi all,

WK 13 D3, back down to 2.5 mg on doctor's orders
SW on Mounjaro 93.1
CW 80-ish (I'm giving myself a few days to log my weight after the GI issues of the last week)
GW 75-ish

Thankfully the horrendous diarrhoea finally stopped on Wednesday. 5 days of everything just running straight through me! I waited until I had been ok for 72 hours and then injected 2.5mg, half my previous dose, yesterday.

Suppression is totally gone right now, and my body is extremely confused. My weight dropped down by almost 3 kg during the GI issues, and now straight back up by the same, so I've no idea where I'm at.

However, I went shopping yesterday. I'm somewhere between a size 14-16 now, by the look of it. So that was a very nice NSV. Sadly my overall shape is still the same, so my hips are a size bigger than the rest of me!

Week12 day 1
SW 92KG
CW 81.6
TW 65ish

Currently sticking to 5mg

Hello all! Well done on all your losses! Mine is rather slow but at the same time more than i would have lost otherwise! I'm also deliberately sticking to a lower dose for as long as possible.

Not a single person has commented or noticed anything!

Ive seen a few doctor led posts talking about fast loss being muscle mass vs slow loss is being fat? Im sure its not that simple!!

Im off on holiday for half term so didnt want to risk going up and having side effects whilst away. When i come back i shall be fasting for ramadan so i figured 5mg for this period is probably more sensible, i will then look at going up once all this is over. Sound sensible?

I was hoping to be a size 12 by this holiday but am firmly a 14!! Again, still better than buldging out of my 16 clothes!! Im trying to make do with older bits of clothing and my more roomy wardrobe and have only bought a few things which is very sensible of me!

For anyone else not sure about going up a dose i find each week is very different in terms of loss and supression. So whilst ive had weeks where i have plateaued on 5mg or lost very little I'll have then have weeks with a bigger loss.

LED masks! I noticed a difference after 4 uses, particularly on my jowls which i did not expect! I went for the cheaper Stylpro option after some research and am very happy with it!

I think it would be difficult after a 23lbs loss for people not to have noticed! I’d imagine they’re probably trying to be tactful by not commenting. Your decisions regarding dosage around Ramadan seem sensible, it’ll be interesting to see whether or not condensing your eating into a narrow window will actually help your weight loss during the month? Fingers crossed you’ll see size 14 soon 💪🏻

Hello all.
I started in November too but struggle to keep up with the threads! Some amazing losses on here - well done all. I moved up to 10mg last night. I don't seem to suffer too badly with side effects which is lucky.

Hope everyone has a fab week.
