Anyone interested in a new thread for those of us taking the plunge this month?

I did my first injection Friday and the side effects hit hard from Sunday. I have had terrible diarrhoea and sulphur burps. I am struggling to keep anything in. I hope it's going to improve as I feel so drained.

Can I join? First injection last week. Prescribed for T2 diabetic. Have had amazing appetite suppression and no bad food cravings no side effects…. Until the middle of the night last night. Ive got the worst stomach cramps and shocking diarrhoea. Like literal liquid. Due to inject
today and now feeling really nervous.

Hello everyone! First shot last night and today no side effects apart from feeling very chilly (although it is quite cold today!). I don't feel hungry and I have noticed that when I open the fridge or see the biscuit jar there is no siren voice calling out eat me! EAT ME! That is different.
I had some greek yoghurt and blueberries for lunch and will have some chicken and lentil soup for dinner. But could have managed without. Some very encouraging comments upthread!
What are you all aiming for in calories for the day? Wondering if I should be fasting for the next few days around 600 cals then eating more at the weekend when suppression might be lower?

That's good news! I aim for 1200 calories a day.. I find I get pretty good suppression through the day but I do get peckish in the evenings (probably because I am a habitual night eater). I find 1200 calories leaves me enough to have a nice light lunch and a decent dinner to stave of late evening munchies.

I'm trying to aim for around 1200 too, but I haven't actually managed to hit that once since my first jab on Thursday.
I've eaten 1026 today.

Can I join please. I started MJ in early October but then got made redundant. Just restarted it and took my first jab yesterday. Had pretty bad side effects in October (freezing cold, lack of energy, run down) but so far this time I'm just cold.

I lost just over 2 stone from Oct-Dec but put on a few lbs over Xmas/New Year.

I have between 3-5stone still to lose.

Can probably only afford a few months of MJ but it'll be a great kick start.

First day today on Mounjaro. Was dreading the injection as I'm a total wuss but was soooo easy and pain-free.

I actually need to weigh myself too but know I need to lose around 4 stone

Took my first injection on Saturday and I got good suppression from the day after. Struggling to eat more than around 800 cals.
Sulphur burps started today and I've just got terrible diarrhoea. Hoping this calms down as my body gets used to it. So, day 4 tomorrow for me. Way stronger effects than I expected from the first dose!

It sounds like you're having a very similar reaction to me! How are you feeling now? My stomach seems to be settling a bit. No sulphur burps any more but there is basically nothing in my stomach now I think....
I'm wondering if something I ate triggered the issues? Has anyone noticed more sude effects with certain foods?

I still have diarrhoea and sulphur burps but down to 5 times a day rather than 30. I have barely eaten so I don't think it can be that.

😪 that sounds miserable! I'm hoping this is just an initial reaction and it will get better!

I have started talking a mounjaro supplement thing that meant to help with sulphur burps, not sure if that's made a difference...

Can I join? I am on the other thread, but it's very very busy. I am a week in, with a 7lb weight loss. I weighed this morning and jabbed as well, so have had 2 doses now. I'd like to chat to people rather than just posting, if that makes sense? I have found i am cold all the time, and have had a little reflux.

That’s a great loss for week 1. I will be over the moon with even half that. Can I ask your starting weight @IdentityCrisis101 ?

Hi I'd like to join please! Mine is due to arrive tomorrow and I plan to jab straight away. I have about 4 stone to lose and really hoping this will work.

For those who have started already, what is the heartburn or acid reflux like? I struggle with this already and so take omeprazole which stops it but not sure if it will work if it's caused by Mounjaro.

I also take omeprazole and am hoping it will offer some protection. I am in 20mg so can increase to 40mg if necessary.

It would help if I put that wouldn't it haha. I started at 14stone 11 3/4 pounds and I'm not at 14 stone 4 1/4lbs.

I am aiming for about 10stone 7lbs - i was smaller than that a few years ago however I seemed to plateau at 10stone 7.

In regard to reflux I've noticed it a little on a night, you know the stupid cough you get? And I did very nearly throw up today from the acid, but it's calmed down since then.

Yeah I know I can get below 10:3 but that’s the weight I seem to settle at if I am sensible (which obviously I haven’t been!)

I have a dreadful sweet tooth which I am hoping will disappear like magic.

I injected yesterday for the first time and I feel like Winnie the poo today. Like my tummy is just full. Maybe if you suffer from indigestion or constipation etc then MJ just intensifies those issues?

DH is going to make me proper chicken soup tmrw as I think a more liquid diet might be the way to go as long as I don’t go too far the other way…

The food noise suppression is weird though - like there is a little echoing chamber in my head that used to chant jaffacakesjaffacakesjaffscakes and it’s gone!

I like the idea of a WhatsApp group, first jab was around midday today.
So far no suppression or side effects.
I'm in the office tomorrow so hopefully I will be ok!

Just did my first one! Excited to get started. I'm starting off at 15st 5 and aiming for my first goal of 13st 🤞 I go on holiday at the end of may and and hoping I'll be there if not into my second goal
