Maintenance Policy Email Cloud Pharmacy And Others. (A list of Mounjaro maintenance providers)

Hi, just for anyone who's asking for pharmacies policies on maintenance, I've just received an email from Cloud pharmacy and this is so far the best stance I've seen anywhere. Some other pharmacies offer maintenance but Cloud seem to be the first I've seen to finally outrightly state "for life" rather than 'We'll see how it goes', 'Well have a consultation and discuss your options', 'Let's have a chat', 'You have to pay a small fee to stay on our books while you're on maintenance', 'We're happy to work with you for maintenance and we take it individually', etc. I also know they offer one month on and one month off for maintenance from what some people on reddit are on. I hope more pharmacies get on board this "for life" stance rather than beating about the bush or being limited to a certain bmi cutoff or taper.

Just wanted to post this so others can have an idea and decide for themselves as it's mostly been one or two popular pharmacies that posters constantly advertise all over the MJ forums. I use Cloud and they're excellent so far. They're on the monj.co uk list and others lists too. I'll definitely stay with them for maintenance when the time comes. No referral codes and they give discounts to their customers without you doing anything for it, so I have no skin in the game. I definitely have nothing to gain from posting, just sharing to help others.

Feel free to share other pharmacies maintenance policy on this thread if you have any in writing. It will help us all to know who to go with for support. X

I was thinking about ordering their packs of 3 pens for maintenance and doing the price match however they told me would only do that with a same priced multipack.

That's useful info - shame they won't do the 3 pens at once for MM price..!

RightOnTrack · 06/02/2025 11:21

I think most/all of them would let you swap as long as you can show evidence of past prescriptions with a qualifying bmi, such as prescription confirmation emails from your past providers. I know for certain Cloud does accept at that bmi and lower still with evidence as some people have done so for maintenance.

Thanks, I’ve emailed Cloud and will wait on their reply.

These are the pharmacies that I've seen so far with their website link to a maintenance policy or a statement offering/agreeing to long term maintenance. (Each patient can then have a chat with their clinician to tailor their prescription according to their individual needs). Others should hopefully add their policy to their website so people don't rely on people's emails or hearsay. These are the ones I could find for now:

Cloud pharmacy maintenance policy
https://www.cloudpharmacy.co.uk/guides/mounjaro-maintenance/

Oushk maintenance policy
https://www.oushkpharmacy.com/maintenance

Curate Health maintenance policy
https://support.curatehealth.co.uk/hc/en-gb/articles/4668256444063-Maintenance-Plans

The Family Chemist maintenance policy - (Basically, they do support long term maintenance according to individual needs and with the guidance of a pharmacist/clinician).
https://www.thefamilychemist.co.uk/maintenance-therapy-on-weight-loss-medications-wegovy-and-mounjaro/

The Independent Pharmacy maintenance policy
https://www.theindependentpharmacy.co.uk/weight-loss/guides/mounjaro-maintenance-dose-how-does-it-work

Oxford Online Pharmacy maintenance policy -
A part of of their statement is not something I think I believe or understand but it doesn't remove anything from taking MJ longterm.

"Mounjaro is used for weight loss and weight maintenance. It will not cause you to keep losing weight forever. After a while, your body will settle at a weight and stay around there, even if you are still using treatment".

https://www.oxfordonlinepharmacy.co.uk/weight-loss/mounjaro

Since I can't upload photos at the moment, I've added the parts from the link showing they support long term use, even if the wording is a bit misguided. I believe you can work out your own dose with them during a chat with the pharmacist.

"Do you have to stay on Mounjaro long term?
According to studies, Mounjaro is most effective if it is taken continuously for 12 months or longer.

After 12 months, you can also decide whether you will stop treatment or stay on a maintenance dose of Mounjaro such as 5mg, 10mg or 15mg.

You can also stop Mounjaro at any point in your treatment, this is completely up to you. If you stop treatment we advise that you continue to maintain a healthier lifestyle to prevent any unwanted weight gain.

You can speak to a member of our trained team if you have any questions about stopping or continuing your treatment with Mounjaro."

"When do I have to stop Mounjaro?
You have a lot of control over when you stop Mounjaro. In most cases, it will be your choice.

Mounjaro is used for weight loss and weight maintenance. It will not cause you to keep losing weight forever. After a while, your body will settle at a weight and stay around there, even if you are still using treatment.

You don’t have to stop Mounjaro at a certain weight or size. You can continue to use it long-term. If your BMI starts to get dangerously low, this can be a sign that Mounjaro is not working properly for you. We will review this together with you and may adjust your dose or treatment plan if needed."

They also support restarting after a break and you start gaining weight but no longer 'obese' but with condition that they've known you (and I assume you have proof of having been on MJ from obese to healthy weight. Also good to know there's no monthly fee for this).
https://www.oxfordonlinepharmacy.co.uk/blog/why-do-you-have-to-increase-the-mounjaro-dose

"Can I restart Mounjaro after a long break and my BMI is no longer over 30?
Yes, it’s not impossible. We would assess this on a case by case basis as there are no official guidelines.

For example, if someone has lost a lot of weight using Mounjaro treatment and they start to put it on again after stopping, we might let them restart before getting back up to a BMI of 30 because it's clear the treatment works for them and we wouldn't want someone to get bigger just so they can restart, as that's not healthy.

However, we'd need to have "known" that patient for a long time, we wouldn't just take someone's word for it."

If I've missed any links or anyone has a link for another pharmacy with their maintenance policy, I'm happy to add them to this list.

@Orangesandlemons77 The Simple Online Pharmacy price match is brilliant and competitive. Hopefully they stick to it and don't try to weasel out like medexpress started doing to their customers after a while.

I hope they put their maintenance stance and price match on their website though so I can link to it. Most people won't know about it.

Ashcroft has updated theirs and it's looking very positive
Can I use Mounjaro in the long term?
Mounjaro is specifically made to facilitate both immediate weight reduction and sustained weight control over an extended period.
Nevertheless, the length of the treatment will be contingent upon your progress and objectives for your health.
During your online consultation, our specialists will assess your needs, discuss your goals, and develop a personalized treatment strategy.
Still, Mounjaro is frequently part of a broader strategy to maintain a healthy weight and prevent weight gain. This works best when combined with other lifestyle changes, such as eating healthier and doing more https://www.ashcroftpharmacy.co.uk/online-doctor/weight-loss/weight-loss-mounjaro/

I've been with Simple Online Pharmacy since the beginning and am almost at 25 BMI. I've been very happy with them but was a bit worried their maintenance policy , as there is nothing in writing at all on their website or whether they even offer it. I emailed them to ask about it and also what their BMI cut off point is. They came back to say that they do offer maintenance and to contact them when I am close to my goal weight to discuss further. So I'm not much wiser as to what they actually offer.
They did not confirm BMI cut off point. Has anyone any experience of using Simple Online Pharmacy for maintenance? I'd like to stay with them if possible , but afraid when the time comes that they won't support what I might want and it might be too late to change suppliers! Hoping to get to a BMI of 22 or so.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 06/02/2025 20:46

@Ilovegoodison there’s quite a lot of very positive feedback about their maintenance support on Reddit

RightOnTrack · 06/02/2025 21:52

@Ilovegoodison Yes this is the problem and why I've now only put providers that have it written on their website. Otherwise, you'll hear one thing from one person and another thing said to another person by different customer service agents or pharmacists. Some providers can also retract what they said earlier.

However, SOP do have good feedback from other forum users like @IReallyNeedThisToWork said and as I've seen, they offer maintenance.

I hope Pharmulous puts their policy (I know they offer) on their website too as I couldn't find it anywhere on there (If anyone has a link to theirs, please post).

@myspinebrokefromcarryinguscome and look at the info on here

Orangesandlemons77 · 07/02/2025 12:27

Maybe some of the other pharmacies also offer a price match? Could make it cheaper.

Yes that would have been handy for maintenance when staying on the same dose and would save on postage also, as well as being handy in terms of not having to wait in for deliveries.

Maybe I can check if the other pharmacy sells 3 in a pack and get back to them.

AmythestBangle · 07/02/2025 13:00

I am on MyBMI (In Ireland) and they say clearly on their webpage that they will do maintenance and talk about long-term treatment (assuming approval by clinician).

85reasons · 07/02/2025 13:23

@Orangesandlemons77 makes much more sense to buy a few pens at once if you're maintaining - as you say saves on postage and you're not likely to want to change dosage once you're in a settled pattern. Wonder if the pharmacies will move to offering this more.

MJnotMJ · 09/02/2025 13:07

I just had a read of the curate policy which does look good. I’ve emailed for clarification on their maintenance BMI level as I’d rather the option of getting to and staying on a BMI of 20, if possible. Cloud is 22 which is not bad at all but if I could go to 20...
I’ve also asked for a bit more clarification on the ‘for life’ statement. If they are happy to do a month on/off or do I have to remain on a maintenance dose and also what happens if I come off completely - at what level of weight gain and BMI would they allow me to restart.

I’ll let you know what they say.

RightOnTrack · 09/02/2025 20:41

I wrote to Pharmulous this morning to ask if they could put up their maintenance stance on their website so it will be easy to link to. I'm still waiting to hear from them. Being Sunday, I'm not expecting a reply today. I only emailed them because I thought it would be good to have their policy linked here seeing as they're part of the first 3 pharmacies (that we know) to support maintenance. I wouldn't want to omit them from the linked posts because of their oversight.

I also went ahead and messaged the same to Medicine Marketplace (another provider I read about today on Reddit that supports maintenance. I figured I may as well). I've just received a reply that it will be passed on to the relevant person and a confirmation that they do support maintenance according to individual needs. So, I'll be adding them to the list once I get a confirmation Once they put up a statement on their website, I'll link to it too.

(Adding photos feature is back I see, so here's the email).

So confusing with Simple Online Pharmacy. This is why I'm more concerned about what is written on providers' websites rather than emails or hearsay. I've just been on their website and this doesn't read well for maintenance. Could someone please read this link and tell me if they think Simple Online Pharmacy really offer maintenance based on this page? I'd say no and they don't even seem to know what maintenance is, but I'm happy to be corrected.

Mad isn’t it - this article sounds like they’re saying sensible things but it’s just a string of unconnected sentences with no demonstrated understanding of the reality of being on GLP-1 medication.

RightOnTrack · 10/02/2025 10:00

@MJnotMJ @85reasons Exactly! I kept wondering what the hell I was reading trying to make sense of it. I only just summarised that with all this waffle, they have no clue what they're talking about and don't offer maintenance, what with their 'continuing the healthy habits you learned while on Mounjaro', as if it's either - or.

OP posts:
MJnotMJ · 10/02/2025 10:37

Yes and ‘maintenance’ purely being about the highest comfortable prescription of mounjaro!

I just received a response from Curate - it was one line

“Hi,
You would need to be a Curate customer to continue with maintenance.”

That was it. I sent in around 5 questions asking for clarification on points concerning their maintenance policy, based on my switching suppliers. At least Cloud sent a proper written (human) response with a name at the end.

I’ve written back although perhaps it was not my politest email…

DarkForces · 10/02/2025 10:39

I'd be surprised if most don't offer maintenance as that's when it gets harder to switch providers and where the sustainable bucks are made. Agree with being cautious about who you're with as you approach a healthy BMI if you want maintenance.
