Maintenance Policy Email Cloud Pharmacy And Others. (A list of Mounjaro maintenance providers)

RightOnTrack · 28/11/2024 21:37

Hi, just for anyone who's asking for pharmacies policies on maintenance, I've just received an email from Cloud pharmacy and this is so far the best stance I've seen anywhere. Some other pharmacies offer maintenance but Cloud seem to be the first I've seen to finally outrightly state "for life" rather than 'We'll see how it goes', 'Well have a consultation and discuss your options', 'Let's have a chat', 'You have to pay a small fee to stay on our books while you're on maintenance', 'We're happy to work with you for maintenance and we take it individually', etc. I also know they offer one month on and one month off for maintenance from what some people on reddit are on. I hope more pharmacies get on board this "for life" stance rather than beating about the bush or being limited to a certain bmi cutoff or taper.

Just wanted to post this so others can have an idea and decide for themselves as it's mostly been one or two popular pharmacies that posters constantly advertise all over the MJ forums. I use Cloud and they're excellent so far. They're on the monj.co uk list and others lists too. I'll definitely stay with them for maintenance when the time comes. No referral codes and they give discounts to their customers without you doing anything for it, so I have no skin in the game. I definitely have nothing to gain from posting, just sharing to help others.

Feel free to share other pharmacies maintenance policy on this thread if you have any in writing. It will help us all to know who to go with for support. X

Could also do every 8 days which would bring it to 32 days which is a bit less?

WeAllHaveWings · 06/01/2025 17:42

Azuresky68 · 06/01/2025 16:56

Many thanks for calculations. I wonder how many people use an opened pen kept in the fridge after 30 days? I am pretty sure that when I signed up for Oushk maintenance there was some box I ticked regarding only ordering from Oushk, but I sometimes doubt my own memory these days (getting older at 68) The whole maintenance issue is tricky and I don't want to suddenly stop, but not sure if I want to jab for life. If I stop jabbing, then gain half a stone I want the option to go back to jabs. I don't want to have to regain weight up to 30 BMI before going back on the jabs...sorry if I haven't made sense! Hopefully on this thread we can get clarity on the plans offered. It's great to share the knowledge.

I use my pens until 35 days (6 doses) as 5 days over I feel comfortable with.

9 days - 0,9,18,27,34,43
8 days - 0,8,16,24,32,40

40+ days feels like it is pushing it a bit too far to me. But each to their own risk assessment.

I am with Oushk and don't recall any box saying I had to agree to only order from Oushk. Might be a maintenance discount agreement thing, unless it is new. Don't see how they would find out/could enforce it other than removing your discount codes.

They have also reduced the £20/month flexi plan thing to £15/month in the recent pricing announcement (still not free like others but a little bit less, hopefully will have changed again and be free by the time I get to thinking about maintenance!)

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/01/2025 17:53

Thanks @WorriedRelative

I'm nowhere near maintenece yet but planning ahead 😂

Oh really @Azuresky68. That's sneaky of them. Surely they can't make you them stick only to them

And yes 0 9 18 27 so 4 in 30 days

Great email. I may have to copy and paste that to myself for as and when

RightOnTrack · 06/01/2025 18:04

When you sign up for maintenance with Ousch, there is a statement that you have to agree to.. something about agreeing not to order pens from any other supplier.

That's ridiculous! Just when I was warming up to them because of the optional consultation chats and lowered price. Is it a contract you're tied to then? Can you not take advantage of any other offers just because you're with Oushk for maintenance? This is why I don't really like their "plans" because it seems you have to choose from what they set up rather than what you want, and what they set up comes with their own terms and conditions.

Edited to add @Azuresky68

@RightOnTrack I don’t know as not there yet (although I have used Oushk) but I would assume it’s only an agreement for the three months at a time.

Also, they aren’t really set plans you have to stick to. Just an outline of basic options. Everything I have read implies a much more personalised approach to maintenance with you making the decisions and them helping you decide what might work.

Me neither, thought I should look at it more seriously when I got close to bmi30 as there were providers saying that if you weren't with them while obese you couldn't use them for maintenance, though that seems to be falling by the wayside.

RightOnTrack · 06/01/2025 18:23

Okay thanks @IReallyNeedThisToWork That's good to know then. Just a bit baffled by the clause to only use them. I know medexpress has a bit of a hangup with anyone who leaves them and goes back to them (Stating they can decide not to take you back, etc and not because of bmi either. I saw an email from them on reddit somewhere).

The plans aren't set, you can swap strategies as required.

I think the thing about not ordering elsewhere is because there is concern about people on a lower BMI ordering elsewhere at the same time to lose more weight than is safe. The prices for maintenance are very competitive but if it bothers you message them, they are pretty responsive.

OK that makes sense @WorriedRelative , so it's less about control and more about safety.

There is no such thing and I have been with them since June (my husband is also on maintenance with them and nothing to tie you up)
you don’t even have to use your codes if you don’t want to.

so much misinformation around - always worth just messaging the pharmacy direct

RightOnTrack · 06/01/2025 18:42

Well, there're still a great option for maintenance regardless.

For maintenance so far we still have:
Cloud
Pharmulous
Oushk
IQ Doctor
Bolt.

@TheWildRoseBear. It is interesting that your husband's experience is different, and congratulations to him for being on maintenance. I have emailed each of the pharmacies offering maintenance options, as I mentioned earlier on this thread. I would imagine that maintenance plans are evolving all the time, for example, the fact Oushk has reduced their fee from £20 to £15. I am hoping to get to target in about 8 to 10 weeks, so things will have probably changed by then. Thanks everyone for sharing your experience on this thread.

Azuresky68 · 06/01/2025 19:58

It’s definitely not a thing to stay with them as I have never heard it before and I am part of their Oushk maintenance page. Maybe misread somewhere.

I confirmed with my husband if he had to tick anything and he’s said there’s only one consultation form which is same as ordering normal. The only difference is that maintenance patients get 15% and free delivery with their specific codes

NewLifter · 07/01/2025 04:43

Argh so much misinformation. There's no box saying you will only buy from oushk, in fact you don't 'sign up' at all. I ordered a video consultation online then after that, I received an email with three codes to purchase my next 3 pens. I still haven't used them as their general special offer recently worked out cheaper for me. There was no 'sign up' at all!

I hope people see this as it was worrying that it's put people off oushk when it's not true!

NewLifter · 07/01/2025 04:46

Oh and it's also not true that oushk advise going past 30 days. Yes they say you can stretch to 9 days to reduce the overall amounts in your system. So:

Day 0
Day 9
Day 18
Day 27

So still within your 30 days.

Please people, be careful what you post and make sure it's true!

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 07/01/2025 09:24

@NewLifter thanks for clarifying about the ‘signing up’. It did sound odd😁

Thanks so much for clarifying this. I agree it was every 9 days but got my calculations wrong as someone kindly pointed out. Regarding the issue of only ordering from Ousch, I posted this in good faith and not to put anyone off Ousch as I have been with them since September and highly rate them. I had my maintenance consultation early December and received my maintenance codes. I honestly thought I agreed not to order from anyone else so this has me worried as I would never knowingly post misinformation and I don't honestly know why I thought that. Hopefully it's not due to my age (68) Apologies to all for any confusion.

Azuresky68 · 07/01/2025 10:09

@TheWildRoseBear thanks for clarifying this. I don't know how I got this wrong. Please see my reply to @NewLifter too.

Willowy1982 · 07/01/2025 10:23

I'm with oushk for maintenance. There is no contract, or clause. You have your video consultation and they send you 3 codes to use as required with 15% off each order and free delivery. You don't have to use the codes either if you don't want to. I used a different discount code recently as it worked out slightly cheaper than using my maintenance one.

Azuresky68 · 07/01/2025 12:37

Good morning. I am hesitating to post on here again after confusion I caused re Ousch maintenance but decided to share this information from the Family Chemist. I hope this is helpful but if not then please let me know and I won't post anymore responses to direct emails I have sent to suppliers. In a previous post I said I had emailed the providers offering maintenance with a standard email and 3 specific questions. Here is the reply from The Family Chemist. I checked and there is nowhere where it states that the email is confidential
From the reply I conclude you can stay on MJ with them as long as your BMI is 19/20. But it doesn't appear to give the same structured option as Ousch where you can go at least 3 months without ordering then ordering again. Please note in answer to Q1 it says 'been on MJ recently' Doesn't specify what recently means.
Reply from Family Chemist:

  1. What BMI will you accept a new patient for maintenance?

We will accept patients who have been on Mounjaro recently with a BMI or 26 and above. Providing that you can send an invoice for your previous Mounjaro dose.

  1. How long can I stay on maintenance?

This will depend on your BMI and target weight. If you are within a healthy BMI, but have not reached your target weight, you can continue taking Mounjaro until you reach your target weight, providing that your BMI is still in the healthy range. Once you reach your target weight, you can either taper down gradually (as long as your BMI is above 20/21) or stop and continue managing your weight through diet/lifestyle. We do not offer Mounjaro if BMI is less than 19/20.

  1. How long a gap do you allow between being on an MJ pen, stopping an MJ pen, then going back onto a MJ pen.

If you miss more than 4 weeks, then it is advisable to start from a lower dose, if you miss more than 2 months then you will need to re titrate on 2.5mg.

Kind regards

85reasons · 07/01/2025 12:41

@Azuresky68 please don't worry about having posted that, it was an honest mistake and you posted it in good faith. Thanks for posting your response from TFC!

RightOnTrack · 07/01/2025 12:45

Don't hesitate to post on here anytime @Azuresky68 Information is corrected all the time and it isn't as disastrous as it seems as long as we all still do our due diligence and find things out ourselves regardless. Thanks for your email posts. If you have any more or wish to post anything, you're welcome to do so.

Maintenance
This is the email sent to suppliers offering maintenance plans. I am posting replies on the Maintenance thread. Feel free to use if you think it's any good!
I haven't got long to decide about maintenance.
Pens - This month I ordered one time only with Pharmacy2U as it's £60 off for first order so 12.5 cost £139 with signed for RM delivery and the turnaround time was very quick. I ordered Sunday and it's getting delivered on Thursday. You have to post a recent photo, a photo of your last medication box and ID.
Email sent to maintenance suppliers:
Hi there
Maintenance Plans
I am nearing the end of my weight loss journey with BMI of 27. I am aiming for 25 BMI at the top of my healthy weight range.

I have heard that you are offering a maintenance plan.

My intention is to titrate down from 12 5 and at some point try to maintain without Mounjaro, with option to go back on if I am gaining weight.
My concern is that I can take a break but go back onto Mounjaro if I gain up to 7 pounds. I don't want to wait to go back on after a more significant gain.

Please can you respond with answers to the following?

• What BMI will you accept a new patient for maintenance?

• How long can I stay on maintenance?

• How long a gap do you allow between being on an MJ pen, stopping an MJ pen, then going back onto a MJ pen.

Many thanks
