Maintenance Policy Email Cloud Pharmacy And Others. (A list of Mounjaro maintenance providers)

Hi, just for anyone who's asking for pharmacies policies on maintenance, I've just received an email from Cloud pharmacy and this is so far the best stance I've seen anywhere. Some other pharmacies offer maintenance but Cloud seem to be the first I've seen to finally outrightly state "for life" rather than 'We'll see how it goes', 'Well have a consultation and discuss your options', 'Let's have a chat', 'You have to pay a small fee to stay on our books while you're on maintenance', 'We're happy to work with you for maintenance and we take it individually', etc. I also know they offer one month on and one month off for maintenance from what some people on reddit are on. I hope more pharmacies get on board this "for life" stance rather than beating about the bush or being limited to a certain bmi cutoff or taper.

Just wanted to post this so others can have an idea and decide for themselves as it's mostly been one or two popular pharmacies that posters constantly advertise all over the MJ forums. I use Cloud and they're excellent so far. They're on the monj.co uk list and others lists too. I'll definitely stay with them for maintenance when the time comes. No referral codes and they give discounts to their customers without you doing anything for it, so I have no skin in the game. I definitely have nothing to gain from posting, just sharing to help others.

Feel free to share other pharmacies maintenance policy on this thread if you have any in writing. It will help us all to know who to go with for support. X

@Onceachunkymonkey Cloud doesn't. I don't know if Family Chemist does. Hopefully, someone will come along shortly to answer.

Thank you. Cloud pricing looks good too,.

Orangesandlemons77 · 06/12/2024 23:33

Anyone with Pharmulous? they are also meant to be good and their pricing looks good as well.

Onceachunkymonkey · 06/12/2024 22:16

do cloud or family chemist make you have video calls? I think I will leave med express, my bmi is still over 29, but I just don’t like the fact they won’t even consider maintenance.

No they don't. Just a form. I'm with them and they've been really good. Really quick turnaround with delivery. They are pro maintenance too which was the most important thing for me.

Yes me too, my bmi is still 29 something, but I want a provider who will work with me long term.

medexpress’s response are nothing short of patronising and abrupt and it’s really pissed me off and put me off dealing with them.

I will move for my next pen come Jan I think.

Orangesandlemons77 · 07/12/2024 09:09

I have had a positive email from Simple pharmacy about a plan for maintenance when I get to that stage, I notice they do the price match same as Med Express so am considering them also. I like that you can buy 3 pens in bundles with them, less waiting around for orders and could stock up for a few months ahead as well.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 10/12/2024 15:17

@Orangesandlemons77 I am thinking of ordering from Pharmulous. I emailed yesterday regarding choosing delivery dates and they responded very quickly. Their turnaround seems pretty quick too. Currently with Oushk but the new ‘full consultation plus photo’ requirement for every single order is really putting me off. That along with the fact they take a fair while to approve orders is making me restless.

I have ordered from TFC in the past too but it’s pot luck on deliveries depending on how long they take to approve which puts me off.

My bmi is rapidly approaching 30 so I want to settle somewhere maintenance friendly asap. The use of RM for all deliveries puts me off Pharmulous a little BUT delivery is free and they confirmed I can request a specific delivery date or have SAME DAY pick up if I wan to!

Yes, I understand what you mean. Best of luck, let us know how it goes!

Orangesandlemons77 · 10/12/2024 15:40

I'm attracted to Cloud because they seem to allow the one month on / off for 5mg which seemed to be working well for a member in the reddit maintenance sub, as well. I might contact them at the time and see if that could be a possibility. That person was doing some sports and getting tired on the days taking MJ, they said Cloud were happy to offer this for her circumstances

Of course would also be cheaper for a longer time situation which would be appreciated as well.

Orangesandlemons77 · 10/12/2024 15:41

On RM delivery, they impressed me this weekend by delivering on a Sunday!

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 10/12/2024 16:02

@Orangesandlemons77 will do! I have read the same posts about Cloud! I wonder if other pharmacies will allow this in time?

The order I had from TFC (they only offered RM at the time) came on a day I couldn’t be home and was only notified the evening before so had to be redelivered the following day. Thankfully was still cold enough but the requirement to be in all day with no notice did put me off.

Pharmulous are near enough to pick up from if I need to which really does appeal.

I just want a pharmacy that supports maintenance, isn’t ridiculously overpriced, doesn’t have referral codes/ work with ‘influencers’, has a quick turnaround, simple reordering process (TFC for the win here!) and allows me to pick a delivery date. Sadly, I seem to be looking for something which doesn’t exist! 😂

doodleschnoodle · 10/12/2024 16:10

I just switched to Cloud from Oushk (Asda before them) and have no complaints so far. I'm 27 BMI so wanted to switch to who I liked for maintenance now.

They approved my order in literal minutes (I made my order at 14:04 on Friday, it was approved at 14:14 and it arrived at 12:36 on Saturday!) which was nice.

I like they don't do referral stuff, all I could find was a code that is static every month for 5% off, their price for the lower dosage stuff is good as that's what I'm on and doubt I'll ever go higher, and so far customer experience seems really good. And I like they seem to be flexible about maintenance and led by individual need/wants.

DareDevil223 · 10/12/2024 18:11

Mounjaro seems to be much more set up for maintenance than Wegovy. I started on Ozempic and switched to Wegovy as MJ wasn't available then. I am nearing a normal BMI now after losing over 100lbs and I would at least like the option to take a lower maintenance dose. WLI have changed my life and I really don't want to put weight back on.

I contacted Cloud and they said that they can't prescribe Wegovy after two years. I have asked if that time period is in total or from when they prescribe but I haven't had a reply yet. Apparently there is no prescribing time limit for MJ which seems very unfair to those of us who have been on a longer journey which started when semaglutide was the only option.

I'm now thinking that I should have switched when my BMI was a bit higher as it probably won't be an option for me now.

Ah ok, medexpress says 2 years too, sorry edit, I see it is for wegovy. Med express won’t even offer mounjaro after two years.

RightOnTrack · 10/12/2024 18:42

Yes, Wegovy has a 2 year prescription time limit. Some pharmacies wrongly applied it to Mounjaro too but have been waking up to the no time limit-stated prescription for MJ while others are still cautious/ignorant/making up their own rules and plans.

Orangesandlemons77 · 14/12/2024 11:42

I had the following from Cloud about maintenance.

We are open to supporting maintenance doses!

To place an order with us, you will need to fill in our consultation form, which our medical team will refer to in deciding if we are able to remotely prescribe your medication. As you are interested in a maintenance dose, they will require you to provide evidence of previous Mounjaro use. Please note that accepted evidence must include your name, the dosage, as well as the name of the clinic/pharmacy you were with.

Please only complete this form once you are ready to place your order to make sure that all the information is up to date.

As many of our patients successfully transition to the maintenance phase after achieving their weight goals, we want to ensure you have the support and guidance needed during this phase. Here’s some information that might help:

  • Determining the Right Dose: Maintenance doses of Mounjaro typically range from 5mg to 15mg. The dose should be adjusted based on your individual needs, including weight, BMI, tolerance, and health goals. It is important to work closely with our team to monitor your progress and adjust the dose as necessary. Some patients find that their current dose works well for maintaining their weight, while others may need small adjustments.
  • Monitoring Your Progress: We recommend keeping track of your appetite, weight trends, and any side effects. Significant side effects, unwanted weight loss, or the feeling of regaining weight may signal the need for a dose review with us.
  • BMI Considerations: Once you reach a healthy BMI of 22, the focus of your treatment shifts from weight loss to weight maintenance. If you are nearing a BMI of 24, we may ask you to provide photos or videos of your progress at your monthly check-ins.
  • Can Mounjaro Be Used Long-Term?: Mounjaro can be safely used beyond two years as long as it continues to benefit you and you do not experience significant side effects. However, regular medical supervision is key to managing long-term use. The idea of a "2.5mg maintenance dose" is a misconception—each patient’s dose will vary based on individual needs.
  • Flexibility in Treatment: Unlike subscription-based models, Cloud Pharmacy offers flexibility in your treatment. You have the option to adjust or pause your treatment according to your health goals, without worrying about subscription commitments.
  • Stopping Mounjaro: If you choose to stop Mounjaro, you may experience an increase in appetite or weight regain, particularly if lifestyle changes have not been made in tandem with medication. However, if you've adjusted your habits during treatment, you may continue maintaining your weight without the medication.

For more details, you can refer to our Mounjaro Maintenance Dose Policy.

Once all required documentation and information have been provided, our medical team will be in touch to approve and advise on the next steps.

Also I am currently with Voy, and I had the following from them. I am however on another med which causes weight gain and they have offered a chat with a clinician to discuss (I asked if might be one of the cases mentioned)

Thanks for reaching out to us! GLP-1 treatment at the moment isn't recommended for weight loss maintenance, and our clinical team always advise ceasing treatment once reaching your goal weight, or slowly titrating down before stopping.
If you'd like some more information or guidance on this, please do reach out the the clinicians for a chat and they'll be able to help further.

Maintenance is applicable in some specific circumstances but as a whole we don't advise Mounjaro and Wegovy for long-term use. When approaching target weight, we would advise slowly reducing their monthly dose until discontinuing treatment entirely.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 14/12/2024 19:05

@Orangesandlemons77 Voy have made themselves look stupid with that! Why are they lumping Wegovy and MJ together? And saying ‘GLP1 treatment at the moment isn’t recommended for weight loss maintenance’ is simply untrue about MJ!

Obvious clunky mistakes really put me off pharmacies! I was filling out the consultation form for Cloud earlier (I am nosy and a serial form filler!) and they stated you can keep MJ pens out of the fridge once used for 21 days. Simply untrue! Why would I agree with something which is plain wrong?

I think things are starting to go wrong at Voy full stop.

Orangesandlemons77 · 14/12/2024 20:19

It's odd isn't it you'd think Voy would want customers to stay as long as possible not to get rid of them! I did send them links to other pharmacies maintenance policies and had 'thanks for the feedback' but nothing more.

Especially as they are one of the most expensive providers

You can keep pens out the fridge once opened, that right? The 21 days isn’t though, that seems weird, I think they’ve taken the first weeks jab and deducted that, as you use it within 28 days, so it’s an error.

WeAllHaveWings · 15/12/2024 00:28

The 21 days is the US Mounjaro medication which has different preservatives and single use pens. Very sloppy from a UK provider to get that wrong.

RightOnTrack · 15/12/2024 09:10

The Cloud and Voy messages are like night and day. How odd that Voy (and some pharmacies) are still in the 'dark ages' of Mounjaro prescription.

A GP did tell me that GLP-1 meds, including Mounjaro, are meant to be used for 6 months then you get off them. Good thing they aren't my prescriber. Not even places like Medxpress (2 year limit) or Voy think it's only for 6months use.
