I've dropped down from 7.5mg to whatever 51 clicks of a 7.5mg pen is - probably around 6.5mg I'd guess. Decided not to do as big a drop as last time when i went down from 10mg to 7.5mg.

Sounds like it's worth me signing up with Oushk when I've finished my pen stash. I only have 2 spares left but they are both 10mg so will last me ages while I've titrated down.

NextPrimeMinister · 07/01/2025 21:38

Fyi the £20 flexible plan is now £15 pm with Oushk.

Fyi the £20 flexible plan is now £15 pm with Oushk.

So has it been rebranded as the £15 flexible plan? 😂

I am using the Family Chemist. Buying 10mg pens for £160 incl postage. Getting scared every time I order they will ask questions or reject me but not so far. Confession: I add a few lbs to my weight each time to minimise chance of questions.

I don't know if it's because it's post Christmas and I relaxed my eating a bit or if it's because it's cold or of I am so used to losing weight and not maintaining but I don't feel like 10mg is strong enough. I am hovering around 140-142lb (the lowest weight I dropped to is 139lb mid Dec) but I only took the injection on Sunday and have a bit of food noise today. I need to start logging everything and get some good snacking choices in.

CiderJabs · 07/01/2025 22:45

@PissedOffNeighbour22 I am also trying to decide if I tell her I'm planning to titrate down with the pens I have, or whether I risk being told off for using a pen over 30 days.
Has anyone confessed to this particular crime?

KrankyKumquat · 08/01/2025 08:01

@CiderJabs
I don't think she'll mind. When I started maintenance, I was losing too much weight still. We talked on the phone and agreed I'd just reduce dose by counting clicks and there's been no chasing to reorder after a month - I'm at about 7 weeks on one pen.

ThirdStorm · 08/01/2025 09:20

Good news, MedExpress have approved my price match with Chemist4u who is on their list and they added £5 to the difference. Only worth £25 for me as I'm on 2.5mg but I'm still happy. I plan to place my order today, its hard to know how quickly they'll be processing as I can only accept delivery on Friday, Saturday or Monday!

TimeIretired · 08/01/2025 11:30

Re expiry dates. I am also stockpiling but hoping to reduce eventually but I’m a very slow loser so expect to be on the medication for at least a year. I ordered a 12.5 pen from Voy with 25% offer. That has an expiry date of Nov 25.

KrankyKumquat · 08/01/2025 12:55

Unintentionally hilarious and tone-deaf (but totes inspiring obvs) article by Nadine Dorries about her incredibly glamorous, exciting and star-studded Christmas 😅
But does also contain a bit of reflection on maintenance after coming off MJ.

imnottoofussed · 08/01/2025 16:56

I am absolutely starving today. Roll on Friday injection day

YouAreEffluentKim · 08/01/2025 17:04

Good grief, that Nadine Dorries article is going to be fuel for all the naysayers who assume we all sit on our arses and eat biscuits expecting the drug to do the heavy lifting. Thanks Nadine!

I'm surprised by her experience really, as the drug actually made me want to eat more healthily, not exist on chocolate digestives and bread and butter

Wonkypictureframe · 08/01/2025 17:09

I felt actual revulsion at the idea of unhealthy food for the first few months. Couldn't face alcohol at all, avoided sweet things. I was actively choosing superfood salads etc.

YouAreEffluentKim · 08/01/2025 17:21

Me too @Wonkypictureframe ! My sweet tooth has still not returned, 10 months on

Wonkypictureframe · 08/01/2025 17:44

Mine came roaring back when I came off, way more than I had before I went on MJ!

I've had to work hard this week to reign in what felt for a day or two like an insatiable hunger. It's not something I've experienced before! I've managed to sit on it now but have drunk a LOT of water and ignored the pangs a bit. I've lost half my fairly small Christmas/post MJ gain now but I can feel my body fighting me to eat more.

KeepingUndercover · 08/01/2025 18:02

I lost all interest in sweet snacky stuff for ages. Christmas has messed that up a bit. When I'm nauseous I do like a bit of white toast or some ready salted crisps. But I also frequently find myself craving vegetables, and I always end up eating those first on my plate.

My injection this week hasn't been a brilliant success, it seemed to wear off very quickly. Hopefully being more consistent will help with the building back up again.

ThirdStorm · 08/01/2025 20:47

My sweet tooth came back over new year, after a few cocktails out came the chocolate, cake and biscuits. I felt out of control and rough. I’m now 3 days low sugar and I feel so much better in myself. Sugar is evil! I of course gained some weight, I’ve lost half of it and I’ll be happy to get back to goal. So glad I’m still taking MJ for maintenance.

thehousewiththesagegreensofa · 09/01/2025 01:10

I really need a bit of a reset. I've been jabbing every 8 days since the beginning of December and the 10mg is continuing to have an effect on my overall hunger levels but I seem unable to resist sweet stuff. I'm not binging but I am not eating a balanced diet in any way. Today, for example, I had
B - porridge, yogurt, banana & chia seeds
L - scrambled egg, smoked salmon & a thin bagel with some salad
D - some chicken off DS' plate and three Heroes
plus I also had a chunk of Christmas cake and a hot chocolate.
I've also mainly drunk tea & coffee with just a couple of glasses of water
Tomorrow, the plan is to start the day with MyProtein, have a chicken wrap for lunch and then fish and veg for dinner and drink lots and lots of water. I've noticed I'm less focussed and less energetic and think that that is due to the increase in sugar and decrease in protein.
I was at a gym class this evening which I haven't done for 3 or 4 months. I've known the instructor for the best part of a decade and strongly suspect she is on the jabs as, having always struggled with her weight, she is suddenly significantly smaller. I couldn't necessarily put my finger on how she was looking thinner as she's still curvy but there is just less of her overall. She's petite and has probably lost a couple of stone, What was interesting is that my three friends who also attend the class and seem to effortlessly be a size 8 and have been all of their lives didn't notice anything different about her at all.

thehousewiththesagegreensofa · 09/01/2025 01:20

Something else from me - this will be my third month on 10mg. I did one month on 2.5, one jab on 5mg and was violently ill so spent two months building up to 5mg, then did two months on 5mg and two on 7.5. My appetite suppression has never been great but I have been reluctant to go up too soon. Given it is only 10mg+ which is supposed to be the active dose, I'm now considering why I have been so slow to increase. Yes, I had the violent reaction when I first went up to 5mg but, since then, I am wondering if it might be a pride thing. In my heart of hearts, I think I want to be someone who says "I stayed on 2.5mg throughout and the weight just fell off me" as that sounds "better". Why do
I think it sounds "better"? Perhaps because it suggests that I am special in some way and also because it implies I only needed a little nudge to get my eating under control rather than full on medication. The other side of it, though, is that, knowing 15mg is the maximum dose, I am scared about getting there, it still having minimal impact and having no where else to go.

Everdecreasingcircumferences · 09/01/2025 04:30

Hi All, insomnia has hit for the first time in a while (loads on at work plus uni assignment due so I think it's just low level stress plus my ADHD internal hyperactivity) am carrying just over 4lb in December weight that I need to shift, sweet tooth has definitely returned and I had fallen out of my myprotein habit so getting back on the horse again.
I think I've enjoyed the significant loss I had last year and have got used to the new normal for me, which whilst 20kg lower than it used to be is still only just under obese. At least another 15kg to lose, which I hope to achieve by the summer, and I need to get back on to cardio exercise and strength training (bottom and arms definitely need beefing up).
DH is with Pharmacy2U and this week when reordering he had to send a photo and then they've asked for evidence of his height and weight from a registered pharmacy/GP. First time I've seen this, good in some ways as we don't want people abusing this stuff, but on the other hand a real hassle and he's definitely still visibly in the obese category. Haven't read full thread recently so wondering if others have had same experience? Happy for regular full length photos etc but could do without trips to the pharmacy and there's no chance of an appointment st the GP surgery. I'm with Cloud but haven't ordered for a couple of weeks so wondering if this is new for 2025.

Still great to be a proper size 14 (size 12 in New Look and Monsoon), and back when I was bigger I said I'd be happy to get to a 14 and stay there. But now I'm here and can see how chunky I still am (definitely looked less chunky last time I was a size 12/14, that'll be the weight distribution/muscle tone/peri ) I know I need to aim for a size 10 to be at a healthy weight (always seemed impossible before). Have stuck at 12.5mg due to having some suppression and the illogical fear about getting to 15 and having nowhere to go, if I can't shift this December weight by the time I'm due to reorder I'll go up to 15mg.

Time for the regular healthy habits to kick back in now the Christmas chocs and cheese have gone. I don't regret indulging a bit last month, and it was certainly a lot less than I would have done previously, but I know if I'm to avoid obesity again I need to get back to my regular protein/veg and little grain diet that worked so well last year.

Average weightloss has now dropped below 1lb per month so well and truly a signed up member of the slow losers club, but I know what I need to do and am going to crack on with it. Thanks for reading my saga, am going to make another attempt as going to sleep.

JanetSnakeholeMacklin · 09/01/2025 05:55

I really really need to register with a company that does maintenance. I'm still with Asda, have been since the start, but they still don't offer it.

I'm probably one of the few in here not at goal yet - I'm almost 80lbs down though! Prob around 30lbs or 40lbs left to lose.

I'm still enjoying the gym every day. I have a NSV to share too: my friend asked me to go skiing next month, and I said yes, without hesitation! Could you imagine me doing that at a size 22-24 in April?! Not a hope - he wouldn't even have asked! I'm now a size 14, though size 12 in most jeans and trousers. Blows my mind.

Still on 10mg - have stuck with that dose since Sept. It definitely doesn't work as much as it used to, but I stick to my food routine and if I feel hungry, I ignore it. Food noise is still gone, even when I space my doses out to 10 days. I tend to only eat crap food in social situations, but I find I can balance that quite well, as it's not a more than once a week or two thing, and I still don't let myself eat lots.

Really glad you all still update here. Hopefully I'll join you all in maintenance someday soonish! (My renpho app says in June)

ThirdStorm · 09/01/2025 08:08

@Everdecreasingcircumferences I regularly see a nurse at my GP surgery who weighs and does height for BMI so I was able to take a screen shot from the NHS app and send it to MedExpress. The reason they needed proof was I changed my height on their questionnaire.... A recent visit to the nurse surprised me with my height that in fact I was shorter than I'd realised! ha! And MedExpress wanted to know how I had got shorter!

@JanetSnakeholeMacklin I've been reading the updates about maintenance with interest but I don't think I'll switch, my goal weight is right around 23.5 BMI which is MedExpress's cut off so provided I stay there I'm fine to order for a bit longer.

pinktransit · 09/01/2025 08:28

GOOOAAALLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!

Finally, I have hit the magic number that is my end goal weight.
I am now exactly 8 1/2 stone.

It has taken 42 weeks - first jab taken 28th March 2024.

I have lost a total of 3 stone 13.5 oz, or 55.4lbs (25.12kg), as well as a total of 25.7 inches from my waist/bust/hip/thigh.

SW: 12.6.6.
CW: 8.7.0

Start size Current size
W: 36" 27"
B: 41" 35"
H: 42.5" 35"
T: 24" 19"

It has taken 11 weeks to lose the last half stone, but that has included staying with Mum after Dad died, my birthday, Christmas, New Year.

I also changed jab days and amount over Christmas/NY as I was travelling to Mums, and then up to the Lakes, so instead of 2 x 7.5mg I did 3 x 5mg over 14 days. The last 5mg was 10 days ago, as I wanted to get back to my Thursday jab and weigh in. I've been hungry this week, but not uncontrollably, and I have had some chocolate just because it was there.
Back on the protein/water combination, and start to titrate down and work on maintenance. I have 2.5 pens left in my stash.

I am trying to resist the temptation to lose another half pound just to make it a round 4 stone. I am at the bottom end of the weight I want to be, I think any more and I'll start to be scrawny (can't believe I am actually saying those words!)

😁😁😁

Wonkypictureframe · 09/01/2025 08:34

Congratulations! That’s brilliant, especially given what you’ve gone through. It’s hard to stop, I know, although my body basically just stopped losing so made that decision for me really.

@thehousewiththesagegreensofa I went up the doses pretty steadily although I plateaued at 12.5mg as the suppression was so strong there. I definitely didn’t lose the large quantities of weight on the low doses that some do and I know what you mean about wishing you were a super responder. If it helps. I don’t think my eating was THAT different on MJ in terms of what I ate. The drug suppressed my appetite to the point that my portion sizes were tiny but I wasn’t, and am not, a snacker or binge eater. I still needed the higher doses to see the big weight loss.

Everdecreasingcircumferences · 09/01/2025 08:51

Morning All,

Shattered now after not sleeping much last night. Just told DH he needs to get height and weight checked at pharmacy and I don't think he'll do it. He is incredibly resistant to that sort of thing, as previously discussed on the thread requiring people to 'prove' height and weight at a physical pharmacy/GP will make MJ less accessible to a lot of people with DH potentially being one of them. Annoying when they already asked for a full body photo that clearly shows he's still a heavy guy. Have asked for confirmation that this is a one off in case I do manage to convince him, will have to switch supplier otherwise. Hope other suppliers aren't doing this too.

Moanranger · 09/01/2025 12:55

Thanks for updates, @Everdecreasingcircumferences @JanetSnakeholeMacklin @pinktransit @thehousewiththesagegreensofa - it just shows we are all on a different journey. Speaking of which, I am off for a month of travel, Renpho travel scales & protein bars packed! Getting ready has been hectic and as we have been eating all the leftovers, etc, not particularly healthy. I was hoping to be a couple of pounds under goal before I left to have some wiggle room, but didn’t quite make it. It will be a reasonably active break, not all-inclusive & booze not tempting. I am taking 2 pens, one with 2 doses left & 1 full. I have another on order to be delivered just after my return, all 5mg. See how it goes, Scales should keep me on the straight & narrow.
I will check in when I can.

Everdecreasingcircumferences · 09/01/2025 13:28

@Moanranger enjoy your travels!
I was hoping not to see a weight starting with the number 8 again, have only just crept up into the 80's and will be heading back comfortably in the 70's soon enough.
I challenged the pharmacist and they said they wanted more snug clothes in DHs photo - why didn't they just say that in the first place! Am impressed, DH did actually go in to speak to the pharmacy although very uncomfortable about it, no appointments for a couple of weeks though, not as bad as GP surgery but nearly. Have sent photo in underwear and a lycra top that is about as snug as it can get, hopefully that should resolve this!
