Aaaargh. I've unexpectedly got into the 11s for Christmas! I wasn't expecting a loss this week, stayed the same last week and wasn't feeling like I'd done that well. But I think weigh day may have been a blip last week as I lost a bit over 2kg. Which nutracheck tells me means in stones I am now 11st 13. I'm so happy!

Amazing! Merry Christmas!

Moanranger · 23/12/2024 15:06

@KeepingUndercover try soup! Admittedly a bit more hassle to make compared to salad. I usually have (butternut squash, mushroom, fish soup) on the go.

KeepingUndercover · 23/12/2024 15:07

@Moanranger yes this is what I should do but the advance planning defeats me a bit!

Choux · 23/12/2024 15:12

@KeepingUndercover I just swap the chicken salads for chicken stir fries with whatever is available in the fridge from onion, peppers, mushrooms, courgettes, leeks, carrots, green beans , etc. and a bit of soy and chilli.

not much different to the summer shopping and I chuck each veg in the pan as I chop it so it doesn't take much longer to make than a salad.

KeepingUndercover · 23/12/2024 15:57

@Choux yes that is a good idea and I've done this on good days, sometimes I just add some veg and protein to miso soup, soup and stir fry in one. There's also always eggs! I need to be better at doing it consistently though. I'm definitely more drawn to bread currently than I have been for a while.

JanetSnakeholeMacklin · 23/12/2024 16:14

Hey! I haven't posted in ages, but have just read the last few pages and love seeing all the progress!!
I started back in April and I haven't increased the dose since I hit 10mg. I find it works for me - I don't get crazy suppression and I still feel hungry, but I never think about food either, and any side effects have stopped. I could not be less interested in all the Christmas food at all!

So far to date, I've lost 75lbs. I started working out a couple of months ago too, which has changed how my body looks quite a lot already (I do strength workouts 4-6 times per week).

I have been socialising a LOT the past month - lots of birthdays and Xmas nights out. I'm still losing, although slower. Am quite looking forward to things slowing in January so I can kick the weight loss up a notch!

I hope everyone continues to post every now and then. I love seeing the updates. Better go - gym is calling!

Moanranger · 23/12/2024 17:46

Adding in@JanetSnakeholeMacklin loss we now stand at 2178lbs!

KrankyKumquat · 23/12/2024 18:15

Moanranger · 23/12/2024 17:46

Adding in@JanetSnakeholeMacklin loss we now stand at 2178lbs!

Just 62lbs to make a ton!

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 23/12/2024 19:06

Sounds like everyone is doing brilliantly. Haven't posted in a while but nothing has changed here. I'm doing ok on the reduced 7.5mg now - when I last posted I was starving but I've been ill so it might actually have been that causing it.

Im still going up and down the same couple of pounds and don't seem to be able to get under 10st. That was never my aim but if I could get to 9st 11lb it would be a round 6 stone loss which sounds better.

If I can get my DP to find time to take a photo of me over Xmas (he's working all week, so more chocolate available to me 🫢) then I'll post it, as it was last Christmas I realised just how bloody fat I was, thanks to a hideous photo my mum took of me at her house.

YouAreEffluentKim · 23/12/2024 22:31

I'm another who has been following the thread but I've not yet contributed. Thanks @ObsidianTree for the original PM alerting me to this thread (well, Thread 1!). I've been meaning to chip in but have so far failed!

I started on 6 March at 79.7kg and weighed in this week at 55kg, a loss of 54.4 pounds! I'm a shorty at 5'1 and have gone from a tight size 16 to a very comfortable 8-10.

Like so many, this medication has simply transformed my life and I now feel 'normal' and like my body works as it should do. Eat less, move more is actually working for me and I don't have to fast, low carb and do HIIT excessively to lose 2lb a month as I used to have to (with predictable results when I stopped any of that combination).

I'm about 2kg or 5lb off what I think I've decided is my goal weight. My goal weight my entire adult life has been 55kg, the weight I am now but I still have a bit of fat I'd like to get rid of. In the new year, I need to focus on building muscle mass and trying to improve my proportions. Having spent me entire life as a pear shape, I've lost my bum (but retained lower belly fat) so I now look like my bottom half is on back to front!

I'm with Oushk (via Bolt who let me down badly) and despite the nauseating fan-girling of Hira's followers, I think I'll be sticking with them. I'm on my last stock piled pen of 10mg and have one 7.5mg in the fridge which I'll move to after this so I can find my ideal maintenance dose level. I expect this to go up and down over the next few years (I'm in for the long haul) and Oushk seem open to patient-led provision which I'm grateful for.

Thanks to everyone who has shared so freely about their journeys and progress. I've really resonated with so many of your experiences and my New Year's resolution (now that there is a vacant spot available!!) is to post more regularly

Moanranger · 23/12/2024 22:42

Having added in @YouAreEffluentKim ’s losses, we are now 8lbs short of an Imperial ton at 2232 lbs (but are more than a metric ton.) Hooray!

YouAreEffluentKim · 23/12/2024 23:05

@Moanranger I operate on the Antipodean metric system, so that's a ton in my book!

CatsorDogsrule · 24/12/2024 08:34

I started in July, but have followed and been inspired by your journeys from the beginning of the original thread and read them all the way through. I was pleased to find you on this one once you moved over.

I'm not sure if my loss can be added to the tally. I started at 229lb and am currently at 169lb, so 60lb loss so far.

Thanks for sharing MJ to so many of us and for answering all of my questions before I needed to ask them.

Snozzlemaid · 24/12/2024 09:06

I'd like to thank you all on this thread too for sharing your journey.

I started at the end of May after reading about all of your experiences on the 'continuing Mounjaro...' threads

You gave me all the information I needed and the courage to start. I don't think I'd have done it if it wasn't for you all.

Now almost 7 months later I've lost 72lbs and my life has been transformed.

I now read this thread to learn about your experiences when nearing it reaching your goal weights, for when I get there. I've still got a couple of stone to go but again reading your experiences is invaluable to those of us following behind.

I hope you all enjoy Christmas as a smaller and healthier version of yourselves.

TimeIretired · 24/12/2024 10:58

Morning. I’ve been on it since end of March and currently on 58lb loss to add to the tally. Fairly slow but I’m hoping that means it will stay off. I’ve stockpiled 4 x 15mg pens so have another 20 doses by which time I’m hoping I will have lost at least another 2 st and can start to titrate down. So nice trying on clothes that haven’t fitted me for at least 4-5 years and some are too big!

TimeIretired · 24/12/2024 11:03

PS (sorry). anyone who’s been on the high dose for a while found that the desire for sweet foods has returned, although not to the extent it used to be? In the old days I could easily eat a full box of Lindt truffles no problem but they’re actually too sweet now so it’s 2 max. The first few months of taking MJ I just didn’t fancy chocolate at all tho.

Moanranger · 24/12/2024 15:37

Adding @CatsorDogsrule @Snozzlemaid & @TimeIretired ‘s losses brings us to 2422 lbs & on to the second ton loss!

FlappyFish · 24/12/2024 17:23

I’m so happy to see folks post who have been with us in spirit.

I can’t believe it’s ten and a half months on from starting.

I couldn’t have done this without you all.

AgathaMystery · 24/12/2024 17:35

back atcha @FlappyFish - these threads have been the difference between success and failure for me.

KrankyKumquat · 24/12/2024 18:58

@Everyone
What an amazing bunch of women we are! Here's to another year of personal triumphs, compassion for one another and ourselves, and lots of talk about BMIs, BMs, flappy skin and droopy knickers. Happy Christmas to you all xx

chrispenrallt1 · 25/12/2024 05:58

Merry Christmas to everyone. I started May 23rd scared of the needle but encouraged by other posters managed to inject myself. I stared at 13 stone 10 and I am now at 9 stone 4 lb. That’s 60 lbs gone. What a great present to myself. Just a few more pounds to go then the journey to maintain. Never gone above 7.5 mg

CiderJabs · 25/12/2024 09:39

Merry Xmas!
I was reflecting on this last night. I started in March and my plan was to take it for 3 months just to get a kick start and then finish it by myself. But I felt so good I carried on and will now go over the 1 year mark.
I'm still nervous about maintaining it without anything but am trying to push that to the back of my mind as I have enough pens to last me until the summer.
This morning I'm 9-7 which is a round 3 stone loss. Best Xmas present!

Smallsalt · 25/12/2024 11:02

Started in March and 73lb later , this morning I hit 8st and BMI 18.8.

I have been trying to maintain but recently have continued to lose. Which is ironic. For a few weeks there I was still chasing losses ( mainly for my belly shelf) and was utterly stuck.
Having now decided I m stuck with the shelf and that low 8 stones is less than I have weighed in my adult life..... NOW the scales start dropping again🙄.

I do have quite a stockpile so will need to start experimenting my way down the doses.

I have over shot all my "thin clothes" and everything is hanging off. I really need to shop as I am not much good at Vinted bargains.
In March I had no idea that I would be in Size 6 clothes!

If I take into account my weight 2 years ago and my losses on a brief Ozempic stint before the shortages, I have exactly halved my body weight😳.

Thanks to this thread for encouragement and info. I wasn't quite solo on the journey,I persuaded a friend to start at the same time and we have plotted and schemed together although she doesn't do MN or forums.
We are very noticeably and commentably thinner. A friend of ours struggles with weight and is very envious. We feel very bad not to tell her how we have done it as it would change her life. But honestly, such is the horrible judginess around the jabs, that neither of us can bring ourselves to admit anything. We would be the talk of our small community and just can't face it.

I do intend to stay on lower doses as long as I can, for my lovely lowered BP and and the vanished inflammation in my now pain free joints. Praying that low dose maintainance can become a more common and affordable thing .

Tell me your on MJ without telling me your on MJ…

it’s nearly 3pm on Christmas Day and I’ve not eaten a mince pie yet.

Isn't it the weirdest thing?? I've had a few Cadbury's heroes this morning but it's just not hitting the same!

Normally I'd have caned a huge toblerone and would be full of despair and self loathing. I would be feeling disgusting. It's a whole new world.
