@FlappyFish lol that's one hell of a bloat! I think for your mental health, don't weight yourself when you know you will be up from period! Just weight the day after etc. Or only weight in the two weeks of the month you aren't effected!

The Prai cream isn't doing much for me either. I bought a massive pot of it 😓

What concerns me most is how bloody OLD I look now. The skin on my face is so dull, pale and dry. I have deep wrinkles on my forehead that weren't there before MJ and lines to each side of my mouth that makes it look a bit droopy. The skin on my body feels really parched and I have wrinkly thighs and a knackered belly.

I have no idea what to do to sort my face out as I've never had need to wear makeup as I had perfect skin until I had my kids a few years ago. I dread to think how awful I'll look on my wedding day (I'm not paying for hair and makeup as it's a tiny and cheap wedding).

I'm using skin + me at the moment and my face looks alright. It's reduced my rosacea anyway. But have heard they can add tretinoin to a daily doser that's meant to help with lines etc. I can give you a referral code if you're interested? I am going to ask them to add tretinoin to my next doser pen to see if it helps my neck!

@PissedOffNeighbour22 just checked the referral offer and they give you the first pen for £3.50 if you sign up. I have been cancelling or threaten to cancel when the price goes up and they usually offer my the doser for cheaper, around £15 a month. Been using for about 5 months now and not paid full price yet!

@ObsidianTree my BMI is 23.6... hence I know I can (should?) go further. I'm still 30% fat and have some very wobbly bits! New year I plan to start exercising and I'm hoping Santa brings Renpho scales so I can track composition and build muscle/reduce fat and focus on those numbers and not just the weight. I think mentally I'll be better able to deal with any gains if I can know they are muscle not fat. For now if I can stay where I am til January I'll be happy.

AgathaMystery · 08/12/2024 09:07

I don’t have the wrinkly neck but 2 of my friends do. I know exactly what you mean about it. TBH it doesn’t matter what you rub into your skin, it’s the massaging action that builds collagen. So get massaging! That said, I think, for some, it will be surgery. My abdomen doesn’t look great - abdominal surgery + c section + obesity - agh!! The worse thing for me is the top of my boobs. There is no fat in them, they’re not rounded anymore. They look quite sad!

My BMI is also around that too. Think I want to push it to 22.5ish. Then I think I will be happier maintaining around that!

I had a wattle even before weight loss so that area is poor. My boobs are a crime scene, my thighs are not great. But overall I’m happier and too broke for any surgery so I’m living with it all.

@NCfor24 have a look at some of the online info about fat composition. Around 30% is quite OK for a lot of women. I agree though that it’s great to build muscle.

My BMI is about 22 and I’d love to keep it around there but 23 would not be a disaster.

Ok cool thanks. I'll keep the massaging cream in anyway in the hope it helps!

I have a bit of loose skin on my neck but it’s not too bad. Like @AgathaMystery i have no fat in the top of my boobs.

One thing I have noticed is my skin is very much adjusting still. I have puckering and looseness on the tops of my arms and thighs. It is going down a bit.

Tummy? Beneath the stretch marks and skin my muscles are rock hard.

The only thing that would help any of it is building the muscles underneath and surgery I think. I’m on some good groups for that now and when I see how some people have started I feel grateful.

@ObsidianTree on weighing. I know that’s the sensible thing. My daft brain wants to know. Hopefully the HRT I’m now on does something to help.

@NCfor24
Hope Santa comes up trumps for you - I love my renpho scales. I've checked the weight against Doc's scales and they're spot on. The other stuff is good for tracking changes (some say they're rubbish at body comp but I don't know). All my indicators are green now except subcut fat which is still 28.7% (high - boo!) but overall body fat is firmly in green at 30.5% so I think, as a woman, you're fine at this.
For the first time in my life, I saw my ribs on my back this morning, drying after showering! But also puckering around my belly button which reminded me of a cat's bum.
A life long friend staying at the moment from overseas. She's always been thin. I'm a couple of inches taller but now half a stone lighter than her - I was the lightest person in the room at dinner last night which was an excuse to drink more than I have in 8 months. Dear reader, I paid the price.

FlappyFish · 08/12/2024 10:04

Did you have a good night though? @KrankyKumquat ?

The rib thing is very strange to me too.

KrankyKumquat · 08/12/2024 10:11

@FlappyFish
Oh yes it was great, thank you. But not in a hurry to repeat the alcohol bit😅
I'm loving my ribs, had no idea such a thing was even possible at my age. The belly button less so, I won't be sporting the South Park cropped tops any time soon 😅

Moanranger · 08/12/2024 10:29

So far we have hit 880 lbs lost. I imagine if a few more MIA reported we would hit 1000 lbs easy- that’s something. Well done all!🏆
Re skin - turtle necks, scarves are my friends. I use a fairly pricey face cream (Clinique) and my face has not suffered too much but is more lined. I just resign myself that I just look much, much better in clothes, and few people see me in scanty wear. I have a high necked tankini that I wear to swim, covers thighs.

@Moanranger my face has surprised me in a good way. I look back at pictures from 10 years ago and whilst I was slim, it looks like I had a chubby jaw line which I didn’t appreciate at the time. Now I’ve lost all that with more definition, I’m sure people pay surgeons for such a look!

GrimDamnFanjo · 08/12/2024 11:10

Re "the face"
I have spent the last few years feeling really smug about my youthful complexion.
Not anymore!
I had a second go at Botox at the weekend.
I'm religious with spf and use tret and vit c.
The neck improves if I use a lot of moisturiser.
I've had PRP facials which I'll carry on with HA injections and have just splurged on a LED mask.
Arse is not looking great, nor tops of thighs.
I've probably lost a lot from my boobs but they were stacked anyway tbh.
I prefer being thinner though!

Amazing!

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 08/12/2024 11:15

I've lost all the fat in the top of my boobs too. I'm pretty gutted about it as i had great boobs before MJ. Now they're all stretch marky and sad. Even in a push up bra they're very wobbly on top.

I don't think there's anything to be done about my stomach area without surgery, which I won't be doing. I am supposed to be having surgery to remove a large fibroid at some point, but they seem to have forgotten about me 😕. At least being slim means the recovery should be easier.

@KrankyKumquat glad you had a great night 😄. Interesting that your scales match the doctor's ones as when I took my DD to hospital they weighed her on a weigh-chair thing and she was quite a bit less than my Renpho scales. We'd changed her car seat based on her being over 15kg but according to the hospital weight she should still be in a baby/toddler seat 😧. Maybe the scales aren't as accurate for smaller weights?

@ObsidianTree thanks for that referral, I'll have a look into it and will probably give it a try as I have no idea where to start on improving. If something can sort out my dark saggy eye bags I'll be happy!

MoreThanJustANumber · 08/12/2024 12:25

69.6lb here.

Moanranger · 08/12/2024 13:50

Wow! So we have now broken 1000lbs with a grand total so far of 1064 lbs!, Amazing…

NextPrimeMinister · 08/12/2024 15:56

I have to fess up, I've had to get filler in my forehead and dysport from my eyes up. My face was clearly pumped out by fat. I've got much better definition round my chin and jawline now, so overall look better.

MJqueen · 08/12/2024 17:59

I've said before, my boobs have also completely disappeared. When I lean forward I'm left with dangling golf balls in a pair of socks and my belly and thighs aren't any better! My legs clap together when I walk.

But I don't care. Someone else mentioned hardly anyone sees what's under the clothes and my health is so much improved I'll take the saggy skin any day. Partner still loves what he sees too!

1000+ lb. It's incredible. That's around 6.5 150lb people lost. 1000 tubs of butter (that we don't eat anymore). 500 bags of carrots (that we do eat now) 😂😂

Femeia · 08/12/2024 23:48

53lbs lost on MJ, 90 in total!
Getting loads of comments from people and my clothes are way too big.
I've still got a way to go, I'm at 159lbs and would like to get to 140, to be back at my wedding day weight, which would give me a little leeway.
I still have a couple of pens left with long dates so will continue to use those and then consider Oushk for maintenance. I don't think I can come off this or at least not for a while. I know all the right things to do and have really changed my eating habits but I know how easy it is to slip BTDTGTTS so many times

ChicRoseDeer · 09/12/2024 13:08

Hello, this is my first post but I’ve been following along for a while now, thank you all posters, it’s been so helpful.

Started April 15st2
Target reached Sept 11st6
It was like a miracle for me - had suppression almost instantly, and no side effects to speak of.

Like @FlappyFish, I tried to come off it completely, and I lasted 8 weeks. It was absolutely fine for about 6 weeks - then it all came roaring back - extreme hunger, food noise, was awful, I’d really hoped I could handle it but I just couldn’t. So I restarted - 2.5mg didn’t do a lot, and that was quite worrying - but I’m back on 5mg now and it’s great, enough suppression and quietness to just “be normal”

So I guess I’ll be staying on it for the foreseeable- Lesson learned!
And yes I have a terrible turkey neck - but I’ll take that :)
