Which supplier are you using out of interest? just so I know who lets you go back after trying to go it alone

ThirdStorm · 09/12/2024 16:07

@imnottoofussed I'm with MedExpress and think I had a break of about 8 weeks. I explained my circumstances and asked if I could continue and they said yes so I placed an order.

FlappyFish · 09/12/2024 16:18

@ChicRoseDeer welcome and I’m glad to hear from someone else in the same position as me. It’s insane isn’t it? We get so used to what MJ does that when it’s turned off it’s hard very quickly.

I am glad you were with a more supportive pharmacy who let you do that. I had my stockpile from not being able to order with Asda as my BMI was below 25.

2.5 has properly kicked in with me. I’ve also lost my period bloat and I’m back to 9.10 this morning.

Choux · 09/12/2024 17:28

Whoever is counting the losses can add another 45lb in for me.

ChicRoseDeer · 09/12/2024 17:30

@imnottoofussed i started with Boots but moved to Oushk before BMI25 to join their maintenance plans, Boots were being too ambiguous for me

Thebaldprimadonna · 09/12/2024 17:32

46 pounds for me 😁

I have got another ten days on 15mg and then I am taking a break and will start again on 2.5mg. Any thoughts on how long the break needs to be? I am thinking that a fortnight should mean that my system is clear.

ObsidianTree · 09/12/2024 18:31

@Thebaldprimadonna I think it would take longer for the meds to clear your system. Each doses half life of what 7 days, then half again 7 days after and so on. So 15 to 7.5 to 3.75 to 1.85 to 1 to 0.5 etc.

So I would say at least a month to clear you system. Maybe give it another week or two after that to lose any tolerance?

What was the reason? Are you no longer losing?

Thank you.

Yes, I have lost only five pounds since the beginning of August. Better than nothing but I want to try to reset.

Hoping it won't take as long as a month. I have to take MJ every five days to get results, so that may be to my benefit for once 😁

Moanranger · 09/12/2024 19:07

As of @Thebaldprimadonna our total weight loss is 1208 lbs. @ChicRoseDeer would you like to report your loss on MJ in lbs?

Heparama · 09/12/2024 20:11

My loss is 56lbs. Been here since April too, just under a different username- livingwithPMDD Amazing total loss!

CiderJabs · 09/12/2024 21:18

Mine is 42lbs. Feels so small in comparison!

NCfor24 · 09/12/2024 22:23

I think all the losses are incredible!
I also think the lower MJ successes are more significant in a way as I know for me I'd have got demoralised at 1lb a week a long time ago with "traditional" dieting and thrown in the towel and would be reporting at least another half stone gain 9 months on! So the fact MJ allows me to stick at it is amazing. I've never consistently lost weight before in my life.

imnottoofussed · 09/12/2024 22:23

42lb is amazing and is a massive amount.

Can you imagine losing that amount of weight without the mounjaro. My past attempts at weight loss I'm sure I've only managed a stone and that was torture and took absolutely ages.

I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd be losing this sort of weight.

It's blowing my mind currently as I'm my normal weight again. The weight I manage to sort of maintain when not in perimenopause and on antidepressants. I'd always been this weight give or take a few lbs and wanting to lose at least a stone but never been able to achieve it but now I'm actually going to get past this weight and lose that extra stone that I always carried. I can not wait it's going to be a miracle.

FlappyFish · 10/12/2024 08:47

Morning all.

@CiderJabs shh, twin! Slow and steady and I guess most of us started at a higher weight. If you work it out as a percentage I bet it’s equivalent. ❤️

Back to goal this morning after period and MJ for 6 days. 9.7. That means a stone in a week from the bloat and carbs. Now that is truly crazy. I have no idea how my body does it each month. How can water weigh so much? And even if some fat magically grew again it’s off? It’s bizarre.

Oh my goodness, it’s a huge weight loss! Well done.

That's an amazing weight loss!

I am a slow loser just over a pound a week and at first it frustrated me but I've realised I'm still going at it where I would have quitted ages ago without MJ. And I know I'll get to my goal eventually, something I never believed possible before.

Slow and steady is healthy weight loss. You've done so well!

CiderJabs · 10/12/2024 09:21

Ah thank you ladies. I'm a short arse so I suppose for me it's a lot. Funnily enough I actually started at 14st 7 and lost 5st "the hard way", a couple of years before MJ. Then menopause hit and I've put 3st back on and the most I could lose on my own was half a stone. So I'm thankful and hopeful I'll maintain it this time.
I'm now fluctuating between 9/7 and 9/10 which is lower than a couple of weeks ago - but I've felt sick after eating a couple of slices of pizza so the side effects seem to be building up again. I've been on 3.75 for 3 weeks now.

Chucklesisters · 10/12/2024 09:30

Emerging from my embarrassed shell with my weight loss-ette of 35 lbs over 9 months. But add it to the total and convert to kcal and then to kwh (I assumed 1200 lbs to 4.2 million kcal) and we get a whopping 4,883 kWh! Enough for all of our energy bills this winter!

Wonkypictureframe · 10/12/2024 09:43

Don’t be embarrassed. That’s still a great amount - I bet if someone offered you that weight loss as opposed to staying the same, you’d have grabbed it!

pinktransit · 10/12/2024 09:45

54 lbs off for me.

Currently on 7.5 and losing very slowly - still on a downwards slope, but up and down on a daily basis. I'm so close to target, just another 1.4lbs to go.

It's really interesting reading about coming off MJ/staying on a maintenance dose. I'm planning on coming down slowly, and see how I go. MedExpress have made me come down from a 10mg pen to 7.5 as I'm at a lower BMI. I'm ok with that, as it fits in with the plans I had. Just want to get birthday/Christmas/New Year out of the way first.
The accumulated loss is amazing - aren't we all brilliant!

Choux · 10/12/2024 10:43

MedExpress rejected my price match reorder as I am apparently'Clinically unsuitable to supply - refer to GP. BMI is below treatment criteria'

My BMI was something like 24.8 so above the 23.5 they have been saying they will supply to. I suspect they are inundated with demand and don't want me to have a cheap pen when I won't be a long term customer as my BMI is close to their cut off. Can't say I blame them - I felt a bit cheeky ordering a 12.5mg for £100 but they did offer. I have ordered from the Family Chemist who I have been using for the last few months. They gave me a £10 off code so my pen was under £150.

I have just come back from two weeks in the US and expected to be up 5-7lbs. Instead I have lost half a pound. Very pleased with that as I ate carbs and sugar so am expecting my weight to drop a pound or two more as they work their way out of my system. I may reach my goal this week which is mind boggling to me.

Choux · 10/12/2024 10:50

Actually I just re read what MedExpress wrote: Clinically unsuitable to supply - refer to GP. BMI is below treatment criteria.

Does that mean they are going to tell my GP I have been trying to access additional Mounjaro when my BMI is too low? 😮

I still have body fat of 34% and my metabolic age is higher than my real age. I am not exactly into eating disorder territory! I imagine my GP will be too overworked to call me in to discuss but it sounds like they are going to flag their concerns to my GP???

ThirdStorm · 10/12/2024 11:12

@Choux That seems a bit odd doesn't it. Maybe go back to them and ask for clarity on their policy in relation to your BMI. I ordered last week with a BMI of 23.8 and I was prescribed.

ObsidianTree · 10/12/2024 11:18

They approved my order with price match etc. I put my weight at a BMI under 25 I think. Weird.

I think they might be stopping the price matching. A lot of people on Reddit saying they are rejecting now etc. I think they must have lost a lot of money from the double price match and the Black friday offer! They obviously didn't anticipate the power of social media spreading the word!
