Hi all, glad to hear you are all doing well & managing.
So I committed to reaching goal today, but actually achieved it last week 30 Nov, so officially:
I started 1April at 13st 6lb ( 85.3kg) and 30 Nov I hit 10st 5lbs ( 65.9 kg) a total loss of 44lbs in 8 months! In the last week I have been staying just below target, up and down about a lb.
My average monthly loss was 5lbs, although the last month on 7.5 was a bit more. I only slightly restricted carbs, I tried to get in protein & a good variety of veg. I wanted to be able to eat a wide variety of foods, but in smaller amounts or less often, so that I can slide into maintenance. My calorie ceiling has been 1200, although more recently I have been averaging somewhat less. I am not yet increasing this, but when I do, it will be incrementally.
Clothes have been a bit weird. I can still wear all my fleeces and gym tights, which is handy, so I won’t need to replace. Some clothes I was swimming in, so out they went, but others (such as an elasticated pair of M & S velvet trousers, thank god, as these are essential holiday wear) are still okay. I am going to treat myself to new jeans. I think I am down to size 10-12, but sizing is so variable, who knows?
so on to maintenance. I have a week and a half of 7.5 left (splitting the dose) then on to 5. I would like to find the sweet spot with the edge taken off my appetite but a bit more energy.
What helped me the most You lot, hands down, but also calorie-tracking (esp when I started drifting)

CiderJabs · 06/12/2024 15:46

@FlappyFish glad you're back on it and feeling better. Do you plan to stay on 2.5 long term now ?

Official weigh in for me and I'm 9st 7.4 so almost the same as last week which I'm happy about. Took 3.75 again this morning and will continue to do so at least until January.

Have had a bit of an upset stomach on and off but nothing too serious so I'll plod along!

KrankyKumquat · 06/12/2024 16:36

@FlappyFish
Good to hear from you and that 2.5 is so effective. That's quite a suprise tbh, so very good news for us long haulers, especially given that one month on, one month off is now an option 🙂

FlappyFish · 06/12/2024 16:40

@CiderJabs I will see how it goes. But honestly, yes. Without MJ I will start yoyo-ing I think. I have the all or nothing in mentality. I was just about maintaining but dear lord it was exhausting.

@KrankyKumquat i am lucky in that I responded really well to MJ. From the moment I started I had supression and I could have done the journey on no more than 5 looking back.

I will, of course, keep you all updated!

FlappyFish · 07/12/2024 10:22

To add a bit more.

I posted about my period gain, but my weight has fluctuated a lot. I got back to goal. Then period. Then up. And up. And up. My period ended yesterday and I’m unwell. Yes, I wasn’t tracking closely. But my weight has shot up.

Apparently it’s possible to gain a stone in 20 days. 🙄

I gained 7lbs overnight.

Anyway. I’ve been here long enough to know it’s all BS. I’m unwell. I haven’t binged on 35,000 calories of chocolate. (Maybe an extra 2,000/3,000) tops.

It will go back down but I don’t get my body at all.

ThirdStorm · 07/12/2024 11:11

@FlappyFish its unbelievable, shouldn’t be medically possible but it happens. Unless we’re all medical marvels?! At least now WLI exist, we have the airtime and be treated with medicine that helps.

FlappyFish · 07/12/2024 11:28

Absolutely @ThirdStorm.

Very apt username for today. I’m waiting for big jet TV to come back online. 😁

NCfor24 · 07/12/2024 11:53

Soooo....I'm at target of 9st 7 as of yesterday!
Still not convinced I shouldn't lose more but this might be all my head so I'm happy to settle here and get through to the new year before reassessing. I'm signed up to the taper plan with Oushk and will ensure I can maintain on a dose before working down to the next one.
So pleased @FlappyFish that you've been able to go back on it and feel the magic at 2.5mg. Maintenance feels like a big scary world but I think as long as I keep in touch with Oushk and keep my eye on it I'm optimistic this time I'll stay here.... I can't face being fat again but without MJ it feels inevitable so I think I'll be on it for life.

I don't have a full length mirror but visited a friend yesterday so this is what goal looks like for me. I don't think I recognise myself.

@NCfor24 congrats on reaching your goal! I’ve had several but never settled, I’m now 2lb away from the definite final goal! 🤣🤣

Moanranger · 07/12/2024 12:25

@NCfor24 Congratulations! It feels great to, doesn’t it? I still can’t get my head around the fact that I don’t have to lose anymore weight - awesome!

NextPrimeMinister · 07/12/2024 12:27

Well done for hitting goal!

I understand how you feel about is it enough.

However I am now on my 4th goal, as mj has given me the confidence that the unbelievable is actually achievable.

2 more pounds and I'm at a weight I think I'll be happy to maintain.

FlappyFish · 07/12/2024 14:19

oh @NCfor24 congratulations my lovely! We have the same goal weight! I say that sat 10lbs above it as of this morning. 😂 Yes, I’m very grateful for Oushk. I’d have been well and truly up shit creek without them.

I completely understand the should I lose more. I mean, most of us probably didn’t think we’d see 14,13,12 etc let alone 9.

I had totally forgotten the thirst and what it feels nothing will quench it as a side note. Maybe I should slip into the December starters thread 😅

KrankyKumquat · 07/12/2024 14:37

Some lovely success stories to warm the heart on a stormy Saturday! Well done everyone x
Sticking to a final, final goal weight is a big step. My OH said last night that if I get to 10st5lb (currently 10st6lb), he's gonna take my pen off me. He was joking, sort of...
I had a very helpful 'emergency' phone call with Hira from Oushk about my unintended further weight loss. I've sorted of promised not to publicise the solution, but I'm guessing everyone on this thread is so experienced, you can imagine what I'm going to be doing with my unopened 10mg pen. So glad to have her help.
Ok, off to wrap up and go collect a thousand pieces of smashed up white polystyrene from our street and parkland - who would be so stupid to leave this out when there's a red weather warning? I despair.

izzy2076 · 07/12/2024 15:13

Hello everyone!

Love hearing all these stories! I've been at target for a while now and am reflecting a lot on the whole journey and how a year ago, I never dreamed I'd be a mere slip of a thing right now!

I'm so grateful. I'd like to thank the academy and Elly Lilly...

The thing thats so mind blowing is that not only do I weigh the same as I did at 25, but I don't have to restrict or panic anymore when I eat something nice. Hopefully , I'm on this for life and the thought of never having to be consumed by that relentless internal argument I've had with myself about food for the last forty years, is so so freeing. Go us!!!

KeepingUndercover · 07/12/2024 15:29

I feel like one of the few from our group not at target yet! Still a long way to go. I've just done my first 12.5 dose and am nervous that it's going to be a ramp up off side effects, especially with an injection day 5 days late. I've got no plans tomorrow though so I will power through!

imnottoofussed · 07/12/2024 17:38

I'm still not at target. At least another stone to go.

3 stone 9lb lost so far in 35 weeks which I'm very pleased with. Although I seem to have got too thin for my old slim jeans without wearing them much as they are too baggy today and I only got them out of storage two weeks ago 🤦‍♀️

Thebaldprimadonna · 07/12/2024 17:59

Has anyone done a successful price match with ME in the last few days? They are being really picky and peeing me off, frankly.

Could you show me what worked, pls?

GrimDamnFanjo · 07/12/2024 18:08

I'm just checking in.
I've just started my second 10mg pen. I don't know whether I've had awful side effects or just been unwell but this dose has been a rough ride.
I've lost 66lbs since April. My bmi is 32.
The last stone has been trying - up and down a pound.
I've just reached the point where I'm revising my target to a bmi of 23. Something I'd never in a million years thought I'd aim for.

I had a really tough time getting through the reapplication - I started with them. They were incredibly hard work.
Which bits are they quibbling over?

I can't really understand the word soup they keep copying and pasting at me!
Long day at work, so I'll try to get my head around it later.

ThirdStorm · 07/12/2024 18:55

@imnottoofussed I missed fitting into all my “small” stuff. I’ve spent the last week replacing most of my trousers! Luckily most of my dresses, tops and jackets still fit. Never thought I’d be buying a pair of size 12 jeans but here we are. Size 14 and 16s safely stored away as I’m still not convinced I’ll be able to maintain this!

@Thebaldprimadonna post the word soup here, maybe we can decipher?!

MJqueen · 07/12/2024 19:20

I'm also not quite at goal yet. But close! Have lost just under 7 stone since March and 1 more stone off will see me at a BMI in the high 23s. This is my aim for the moment and like others see if that's "enough". I think it will need to be because I'm seeing some loose skin in my neck and I want to avoid more of that. Hopefully it will settle over time as I'm only 38 and it feels too young for a neck wattle (Ally McBeal ref!).

Like others I never thought I'd manage this, and at best I'd get to about BMI 27-28. Petrified about maintenance because I just can't go back. I'm not keeping my big clothes so I have no fall back. Also don't want to keep replacing the smaller sizes so another reason to stop soon! I'm mostly in 14s now which was my original dream goal.

I'm so proud of us as a group. I wonder what our combined loss is? It must be well over 1000lb.

Moanranger · 07/12/2024 19:24

A roll call of losses? I’ll start: 44lbs

ThirdStorm · 07/12/2024 19:26

70lb, shocking to even type that’s how much I’ve lost.
