@CiderJabs I too have used 2 pens over the 30 days and not noticed any impact on its effectiveness. But like you have I kept in the fridge and wiped it down before used.

FlappyFish · 02/12/2024 12:35

I have muscles and tone now. I love my swimming and Pilates.

It is the period hormones that are absolutely my undoing. I won’t post the boring graphs but I do go shooting up. Then down. It’s the mountain of doom. 😂

I am totally fine with weight gain for muscle.

I started my period this morning and I am back to how I felt on MJ. No interest in food. No cravings. Silence in my head. Hormones. They’re buggers aren’t they?

@PissedOffNeighbour22 this is the thing isn’t it? Arguably I can maintain. I go up. I go down. I reach my goal again and then go up again. Mentally it’s horrible to not feel in control.

@ObsidianTree absolutely and I will play round with how often I take it. Just that week? I don’t know.

@CiderJabs twin! Yes, it’s not worth the despair frankly. Everyone has done it and the advice has changed so much anyway. It is all a work in progress.

OK, it costs money. So be it.

I’m on AD’s and HRT now, what’s another for my mood and hormones is how I feel.

Moanranger · 02/12/2024 14:34

@PissedOffNeighbour22 I actually haven’t given up any foods and have a bit of whatever, including wine, peanut butter ( I am addicted to this). The only thing I have not eaten much of is cheese, for some reason. What I do notice is how full I get and so quickly. So the quantity I eat is v small. For example, last night I hadn’t eaten for 8+ hours, and I was gobbling my dinner & suddenly had to stop, as it felt as though my food was backing up from stomache to esophagus!
Do you get any of this? It really reduces the amount you can eat at any one sitting.
A rule I have been trying to follow is eat little & often, but not always successfully.

ThirdStorm · 02/12/2024 15:13

@Moanranger I do! I just suddenly feel satisfied. I hate waste and for a while I was pushing through not wanting to leave anything but I've addressed that with my portion size on the most part.

MoreThanJustANumber · 02/12/2024 15:14

I can 100% understand that@FlappyFishgood for you for getting back on it if you need it. I very much suspect I'll have to be on this for life, for me it will be because of the lack of inflammation which has helped so much with my fibromyalgia pain levels. I can walk without having to sit down every 100 metres, and that started before I'd lost any weight so not just because I weigh less, and that obviously helps even more.

I'm only just over halfway to goal though so don't need to actually think about that for a long time. Even if I never lost any more weight I think I'd still want to take it for the side effects alone. It's taken me nearly nine months to lose five stone but it would never have happened otherwise. Do keep us posted with what ends up being your regime, interested to hear whether people space out doses of use a lower strength.

Scalessayeek · 02/12/2024 20:48

They are working on a pill at the moment for the likes of us that need the extra help. It's not as affective as the jab but it's to help curb the food noise and it should be cheaper too. It's being tested at the moment so a few years down the line but I think I'm sure there will be some in between for those of us that need it.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 02/12/2024 21:31

@Moanranger it's rare I feel too full and have to stop eating. If it happens it tends to be at lunch time.
My portion sizes are massive now and I need to cut that back as when I started on MJ I was eating a much more reasonable portion.

What I do find though is that sometimes I just don't want what is on my plate or it's just not that nice and instead of ditching it and buying a takeaway like I'd do before MJ, now I tend to just leave it and not replace the meal.

Thebaldprimadonna · 03/12/2024 11:51

I finally dropped weight after weeks! I am going to talk to ME about taking a fortnight over Christmas and then starting again on 2.5 in the NY. 15 is giving me side effects but very limited suppression or results!

@Moanranger I am the same as you. Even if famished I can only eat a small amount before feeling full. It would be around half of what I used to have.

I think this is fine, and it's the feeling I want to continue post-MJ - if I stop completely at all - because it means I can eat fairly freely in terms of what I have, knowing that I won't eat too much of it.

Flapearedknave · 03/12/2024 17:40

Med express finally got back to me!

Getting 15mg for £95! Woooo

If they keep this up they may have clawed me back haha

Although, (I might delete this because I'm quite devastated by it) the batteries in my aria died so I charged them, and now my scales are a lot higher. 🫤 But my weight goes down by about 10lb every month, so it's always been even. So have they been wrong since march. They were saying the same even after my house move. Very disheartened.

Moanranger · 03/12/2024 17:42

So I have ordered my first pen under the Oushk maintenance programme. Just be warned, they quote a week for delivery, which is ok for me, but could catch others out. Their ordering system is somewhat confusing, as there is no “order” window, you have to order via consultation. Also must send a “recent” photo, but it is evident that no one actually looks at this. Some AI bot must be programmed to recognise an image of a full length person, and then automatically approves it. I found it challenging to get a clear full length photo in December light and didn’t think it was very clear, but they okayed it.

AgathaMystery · 03/12/2024 17:46

I too got a 15mg for £95. I’m pleased as I’ve got a couple doses of 10mg left and then a 12.5mg pen and a 15mg en route. So I’m okay for a while. Phew.

NextPrimeMinister · 03/12/2024 19:02

@thebaldprimadonna

Good to hear from you! 3st 4lb is impressive. Glad you're still plugging away. Let us know how your plan with ME goes.

Low suppression is so annoying, especially as there's no where to go after 15.

KrankyKumquat · 03/12/2024 19:15

@Moanranger
Yep, they've tightened up the prescribing again and now want photos for every new order but I'm pretty sure they said not for people on maintenance, after their first order if they've just moved to Oushk, as they're having 3monthly video consults (you can just ignore the instruction to upload a photo as previously). Also everyone has to fill in a new consultation form every order rather than use the re-order button from the last order page. Apparently there's gonna be a big clampdown on online prescribing next year so they're getting ahead of it now.

Choux · 03/12/2024 19:26

Are MedExpress still doing the double price match? Do I just email them with a Private Pharmacy screenshot. I am a returning MedExpress customer after 4 months away but have been ordering elsewhere.

I want to buy a 12.5mg pen and order by tomorrow to layer the 25% Black Friday offer. It's a bit nuts as I won't be at home to get it till Monday but as long as I get the order in by the end of tomorrow I don't care if it is delivered warm when I eventually get it. I will make it my next pen and use it from next week.

imnottoofussed · 03/12/2024 19:41

Yes still price matching just email them and ask them to credit your account with the double price match. Tell them which dose and attach a screenshot of the cheaper price

Thanks, NextPM. I think that this is worth a try.

Flapearedknave · 04/12/2024 13:40

Med express have asked me to complete a 5 month check up, for a full length pic and passport pic.

Weight still the same on the scales this morning. Not feeling as bad as I did yesterday. I know I can lose it.

I emailed MedExpress last night about the double price match but they have notes on her website now about taking up to two days to reply to emails due to exceptionally high demand so am not hopeful of getting the credit on my account in time to order today.

Perhaps they are really inundated with requests or perhaps they have realized they don't want to be selling pens for under £100 and are pausing the double price match till after the Black Friday offer ends tonight.

imnottoofussed · 04/12/2024 14:41

They've changed the price matching now it seems to be back to normal price match but with £5 extra so no longer double

Wonkypictureframe · 04/12/2024 14:45

I had a bit of a wobble on Monday as I had a weekend of eating carby food and I managed to put on 4lbs. It really hit my fear that I will just pile weight on as soon as I stop MJ but I have lost most of it now after a lot of water and more sensible good. But it did shake me.

Choux · 04/12/2024 15:13

imnottoofussed · 04/12/2024 14:41

With single price match and the 25% off I would probably buy as that is c£115 with both offers applied. But I want the price match credit on my account before I order as I don't intend to return to MedExpress long term for maintenance and with just the Black Friday offer it's not much different to my Family Chemist price. I don't see a credit on my account yet but I am not sure exactly where I should be looking?

I don't even need the extra pen as I am currently ordering from FC every month and have three pens in the fridge right now.

imnottoofussed · 04/12/2024 15:42

They will email to confirm when they have added a credit and the amount. Then when you go to order it's there in the price section as discount and deducts from what you owe

beckslovestimmy · 04/12/2024 15:44

Hiya, been on mounjaro from Asda pharmacy for a number of months. What do I do with the sharps bin once it's full?? How do I dispose of it?

KrankyKumquat · 04/12/2024 15:57

@beckslovestimmy
You have to find a pharmacy or gp surgery or drug service that'll take it from you. Some local councils will collect but not all. It's not easy as every town, city and county, and different branches of the same chain stores, will have different positions on whether they take them or not. Just have to ask around, start with your Asda supplier if that's where you get it from. I'm surprised online prescribers aren't being told they have to facilitate it but not yet at least.
