I’m just back from holiday. Gained 1.6lb but I’m okay with that as I’d lost a few more lb under my goal weight so it balances out. I enjoyed food but didn’t eat the wrong sort of stuff (the stuff that led me needing to lose 4st!).

good luck @FlappyFish with no drugs, I think that will me by December but I’ve got more to do around eating habits and I want a safety net. I think I still have a small window to order if I want another pen.

NextPrimeMinister · 23/09/2024 12:38

I've just had my Oushk consultation. Prior to booking I clicked on their maintenance plan on the website, answered the questions (same ones as other pharmacies). Uploaded a photo of myself and my latest pen box.

Booked a consultation (£5 which will be taken off my next pen).

Video call today, with Hira, where she asked me about my MJ history / journey so far. She explained the 3 options available and we agreed I'd go on the Conti plan.

Next steps will be for me to be sent and email with the codes to get the discounts.

All very simple, and straightforward.

fyi My bmi is just over 26, so before 25.

Any questions, just shout!

ObsidianTree · 23/09/2024 12:38

Well done @Everdecreasingcircumferences

Hope you feel better soon.

I also need to plan my gym debut! I'm thinking when I've moved to a maintenance plan with Oshik and only paying £20 a month. Then I'll have extra funds to start gym.

@NextPrimeMinister sounds good. Didn't realise it was only £5 for consultation.

Is the conti plan where you stay on a dose for 3 months then re- assess? I need to book a consultation really as my BMI is 25.5 ish

1.6lbs is great for a gain after a holiday. Hope you had a good time

@ObsidianTree brilliant time, so nice not to be ruled by food. I’ve been keto up to now so trying to slowly add back in some carbs. And eat more calories. Things that I’m not finding easy or straight forward as it goes but the holiday helped me loosen up.

Yes, I may have booked the wrong type, but she didn't seem to mind. I think it's to make sure you show up.

Yes, that is Conti, but it seems flexible as she said she'd check in and if needed, review the pen I'm on.

Maybe as I'm still looking to loose 7lbs, rather than taper down at this point?

Smallsalt · 23/09/2024 13:01

@ObsidianTree Considering that much of the blub on the drugs stated that in trials most weight loss and effect is seen at 15mg, its a bit ridiculous.

"15mg is the most effective dose".........but you can't get it until you have been on the drug for months.

Then claim that the "most effective dose" isn't effective .......BECAUSE you have been on the drug for months.

Completely circular argument and ridiculous.

Yes exactly. I titrated up thinking it would be the most effective.

It's just their excuse because they didn't want to exchange the pen I had as they obviously have loads of stock of the short dated pens.

Did anyone get symptoms from day 1? Sterted today and my tummy really hurts

FlappyFish · 23/09/2024 13:31

Will see how I get on with no jab this week. I almost forgot to take the last bit anyway. Well done for not ordering @CiderJabs

For me with a strong history of addiction (I’m coming up to nine years sober in January) I think it’s the right choice for me. My head will merrily tell me I need something, but I did a shed load of step work years ago to try and move past that.

Alcohol and MJ are not the same thing by any stretch of the imagination. MJ isn’t physically addictive like booze. (And I was physically dependent. I had to detox twice). But psychologically I could see that it could be for me.

I have my exercise in place. I have a very different mindset.

I had maintained around 14 stone for a long time. What I couldn’t do was cope with the will power and failed dieting to lose weight. I would not have done this without MJ suppressing my appetite and letting me get to a stage where I could exercise. I needed the head space from food. In the same way when I stopped drinking I needed benzos to get me to a place I could do the work.

CiderJabs · 23/09/2024 14:47

@FlappyFish I can see what you mean. And I do think the feeling of not being hungry can in itself be addictive - this is something I also worry about. So fair play to you and all the best of luck !

Smallsalt · 23/09/2024 15:08

@ObsidianTree So their reply to my reply was a big long cut and paste about why weight loss isn't linear.........am I in calories deficit, am I moving enough? bla bla bla.

I have replied that at no point did I state that I hadn't successfully lost weight.
And that what I actually stated is that since Med Express started sending me warm pens, I have an issue with lack of supression and that I had not my made any comment on my weight loss!

So raging!

Chucklesisters · 23/09/2024 15:37

Slightly breaking news - Medexpress responded to my query on dates and said they’re now supplying 15mg with a Feb 2025 date. Hope this helps with your next orders @ObsidianTree @montysma

That’s less than six months away, so important not to overly stock up (reminder to myself 😂)

They will use any excuse to not take accountability unfortunately!

Thanks. I wonder if Zava are selling Feb dated 15mg pens 🤔 although I've now signed up with Oshik and bought a 15mg pen from them. So won't order anymore from Zava.

Let us know what the expiry date us on your Oushk pen when you get it. And if you don’t mind, what did you pay for the pen?

It will be 02/25. It's what Hira said on their Facebook page. They aren't selling the Oct expiry pens anymore.

I paid a lot for it tbh! They sell the 15mg for £220. They have a £25 off offer at the moment so I decided to go for it. £6.99 delivery tho. So spent just over £200 on it! But thought, as I plan to move to oshik for maintenance, i might as well move over now then sign up to a maintenance plan already on their books. Also, wanted to make sure I received a long dated pen that will be delivered cold. Plus, this will probably be my last 15mg pen I buy as Oshik are too expensive for 15mg so will aim to titrate down to 10mg then move to them for maintenance as their 10mg is cheaper.

I think you're best off finding a thread for people just starting out or the more general MJ users one. Just because this one is for people who started over six months ago and it's mostly now about how we plan to maintain losses and keep on going to the finish line and many of us may not remember what those early days were like!

Wonkypictureframe · 23/09/2024 17:10

Thanks for the Ouhsk input, especially @NextPrimeMinister. I'll book myself in. It will be a bit novel to have some advice other than a c&p web response!

Wonkypictureframe · 23/09/2024 17:27

Quick update: I've booked a consultation for tomorrow and the only option on offer for a maintenance one was £5. Either they've reduced the price or the maintenance ones are cheaper, as the last time I looked was before they had launched. Good news.

Hira mentioned in her live that they are now only doing £5 consultations but these are not refundable. Anyone who booked with higher price will get that money back. Something to do with codes not working when putting refund plus the 15% off for maintenance

Reflecting on the issue of having your weight loss noticed/acknowledged, I saw my adult daughter at the weekend, and she appeared to me that she has lost weight. Like me, she struggles with her weight, so it can go up and down. I think when others notice that you look slimmer (and especially if you have a history of weight fluctuations) they may be thinking, ‘did you look this slim the last time I saw you?’ And because they are not sure, they don’t comment. Some may feel it is impolite to ask.
With my daughter, I never introduce the subject, as it is fraught. She has in the past mentioned various diet/regimes. I think most recently she has been intermittent fasting. It did cross my mind that she could be injecting, although I would be surprised if her BMI was high enough to get a prescription. (She has 3 inches on me, lucky girl). I doubt that she would admit it, if she was, there is so much judgement!
