@ObsidianTree
It's bone mass mineral density so don't won't it to fall (osteoporosis, etc) I think. Higher is better, over 6lb for my age (58) as tends to reduce with age - it's my only stat that's in the excellent range

Ah cool thanks. Good to know

I have scale envy. Not ordered any yet and my current scales measure most of this stuff but don't have Bluetooth to connect to an app. I am also amazed how little bones weigh. 5-7lbs only. I thought it was a couple of stone!

@ObsidianTree good hydration. You are beating the others by 2-3% on water weight!

Nooo surely bones are heavier than that, I've been living off the myth of heavy bones for all my life 😂

Lol. A whole skeleton is about 10kg from what I remember from O level biology - this is just stuff like calcium and other minerals in the bone.

Choux · 22/09/2024 13:19

@KrankyKumquat is correct. Bones are heavier than a few lbs. from the Renpho site their measurement is about bone density. 'Bone mass is a measurement of the overall bone mineral density of your body. This measure provides an important snapshot of your overall bone health. Low bone density can be a key indicator of osteoporosis.'

After not losing last week I'm moving downwards again. 1.3kg off, I now weigh the same as when I started the last time I did a big weight loss, if that makes sense! I feel like this might be harder weight to lose as I hovered around this for a long time before I had a really big weight gain.

Wonkypictureframe · 23/09/2024 08:40

That might not happen. I had a similar weight that I maintained more or less for the best part of a decade and was my original vague target weight when I started. I expected to settle there. And I was JUST thinking that I’m now 1.5 stones less than that. I didn’t notice much of a stall at that point, looking back.

MoreThanJustANumber · 23/09/2024 09:33

Interested to read all your comments about 15mg not working well. I am using a 15mg pen but am only taking 11.25mg as it was far too strong when I went up even to 12.5mg. I have another in the fridge which I'm going to struggle to finish before end of October. both my pens were really cold though so I'm wondering if that is the difference rather than the short date?

MoreThanJustANumber · 23/09/2024 09:42

...and to add to that, this last month I've had my biggest loss so far, 13lb in a month. I was losing much more slowly before. Maybe 11.25mg is my sweet spot but a bit of a pain to have to count 45 clicks every time, will go to 12.5mg on my next 15mg pen. I've still got about five stone to go!

AgathaMystery · 23/09/2024 09:48

Morning all… I never understood on the other threads when people complained about people noticing their weight loss. I want to complain now!!

I’m fed up of it. My mum has come to stay and the moment she saw me she was very complimentary but image said ‘you’re SO SKINNY you look SO NICE’ and SD said ‘you have lost a SIGNIFICANT amount of weight’ and I’ve been swerving the topic with them ever since.

I just had loads of it on Wednesday night and again Thursday and then again yesterday. Does it ever get a bit much?

Wonkypictureframe · 23/09/2024 09:49

Can I ask those of you who've moved over to Oushk, I'd like to check how it will work with my BMI and starting the maintenance plan and when I DMed to ask on FB I was told to book an online consultation which costs £20. But I've seen other people refer to calling up or getting an email with what seems to be the same information I'm after, and I'm not sure why there's a paid method when not everyone needs to pay.

Can anyone clear up my confusion? My BMI is now too low for MedExpress and I have enough pens now anyway - I just want to sign up for the thing where you pay monthly and then can start again any time, not order anything else right now.

KrankyKumquat · 23/09/2024 10:05

@Wonky
I think you'll get a useful response if you email any specific questions as they're very helpful and responsive to enquiries but, as I understand it, everyone has to have a consultation before moving onto a maintenance plan, regardless of whether they're already a customer or not. It's to discuss more personal details - health issues, weight loss journey to date, what you now want to achieve, etc. It's an extra safeguarding measure as well, to check previous prescriptions, SEs, current weight, and to make sure patients dont go too low, etc. I know others have been open about their existing stock and been supported in using this up too - obviously the pharmacy need to know about this too as you'll become one of their patients when you're on a plan so they need to have some oversight. The cost of the consultation is taken off any subsequent pens you buy if you sign up. I bet the consultation fee has been introduced to also off set some of the costs caused by 'no shows' who book an appt and don't bother to show up, of which I'm sure there are plenty!

Really hope so! My second one in fridge was delivered cold so hopefully it will work better.

I think personally, because I haven't told anyone I'm on MJ, I just don't want to talk about my weight as it makes me uncomfortable in case they ask how I did it and press me etc. So as I have to lie to any questions, I struggle with the topic. So even if it's nice compliments, I feel decietful.

OP posts:
TimeIretired · 23/09/2024 10:28

@ObsidianTree although a couple of people know I’m on MJ because I’m also doing the 16-8 I can honestly say I’ve significantly cut down on what I eat, cos I have! Could you use a similar excuse?

I don’t eat before 12 or, ideally after 8. That said, the loss has been very slow but hopefully it means I’m also building in better eating habits when it comes to stopping taking it. I’m a right tight arse and the thought of wasting all this money will ( 🙏)spur me on post-injection stage.

ObsidianTree · 23/09/2024 10:35

@TimeIretired I have said fasting loosely, so might go with that. I haven't given an exact answer really! So need to go with one! At the moment I've said I calorie count and only eat 1200 cals and skip breakfast. I guess I feel like a fraud as if I was doing that without MJ I wouldn't lose a lb! Lol

I think they credit back the consultation cost. As your BMI is below 25, you'll probably have to go with the maintenance route.

I have bought a pen to move to them as I'm not yet under 25 BMI. Will probably move to their maintenance plan after that pen. Pens not been approved yet and it said I might need a video consultation. Not sure if that will happen or not. When I move to the maintenance plan I will also do the £20 a month plan until I've run out of pens I have.

I've just ordered from Bolt and they approved it and marked as dispatched in an hour. And my last order was the end of July so I'm quite pleased about that. I am not stockpiling here! Stretched that out as long as possible to try and save myself some money.

CiderJabs · 23/09/2024 12:05

Afternoon ladies
@FlappyFish how do you feel with no drugs??? You're way braver than me!
@ObsidianTree I'm the same when someone asks - especially at the gym - as I feel like a fraud!

You'll be proud to know I haven't ordered a new pen yet---- ...

Official weigh day - 9-11.6 so I seek to be slowly going down half a pound a week on 2.5. Dp lost 3lbs last week (ffs!) so won't take any this week. I will carry on with my plan.

CiderJabs · 23/09/2024 12:06

ObsidianTree · 23/09/2024 12:16

@CiderJabs well done for not ordering. I don't plan to even contemplate coming off it 😂

Agreed about feeling like a fraud!

From Med Express on querying state of warm 15mg.

Please be advised, the effectiveness of the treatment may not be due to the quality of the pen but instead, due to the repeat strength intake.

So that's the line they are taking.

Have replied to state that I have reverted to a 12.5mg pen which arrived cold and that the suppression is strong and long lasting as expected, so it's nothing to do with being accustomed to the drug strength.😡

They also claim the cold packs last 48hours after which point the temperature rises slowly and won't have hit 30 degrees.
I pointed out that without chilling they have literally no idea what temperature the pen has reached and that they are making convenient assumptions to suit there own profits!

A pen will quickly reach the temperature of wherever it's held, and if that's in a hot warehouse or lorry, then hot it will be and will have exceeded 30 degrees.
Even if it doesn't.......if 8 degrees is optimum, then any length of time above that reduces drug efficacy.

I asked what as changed in their delivery process as my many previous orders used to arrive faster, and cold.

They also don't yet have longer dated pens

Grrrrrr😡

Hi All Am now 7 months in (started 24th Feb), weightloss has been slow over the summer with lots of bouncing around 85kg. I started out at 98kg with a BMI of 35.1, and this morning I weighed 83kg exactly, BMI of 29.8. I'M NOT OBESE ANYMORE!!!
Should be jumping up and down celebrating but have covid so sat under ab electric blanket instead. I have been obese for 20 years, just wonderful to have got this far thanks to MJ. Saxanda and wegovy did not work for me, funny how we all react differently to these meds.
Next goal is sub 80kg, getting into the 12 stone bracket.
30 weeks, 30lb lost so definitely part of the slower losers club, but still worth every penny. I had the experience of lots of people noticng the other day, felt a bit much to be honest and I found it very uncomfortable (didn't think I looked that bad heavier but the shrieks of how great I look now tells me I'm the only one who thought that way).

Still need to get exercising, haven't done that consistently yet.

Edited

I got something similar when I messaged Zava. Basically saying that I've probably got used to the drug so I need to work on my diet! Bastards! This is my first 15mg pen! It should be working from the start! These were their reasons for not replacing my short dated pen that I recently had delivered. I'm just hoping the pen will work better as it was delivered cold.
