Congratulations @ObsidianTree - that is amazing.

It is worrying that most of us are feeling demotivated and back to eating crap. It is hard to stay focused.
I also think the colder weather makes it harder - I love hot chocolate especially with baileys! And going for walks is also harder.
We need to look out for each other and try to get everyone on track together. I do not want a "fat after mj " thread!

Yeah I'm not sure what it is.

I suppose I've never gone this long on a diet before giving up and going back to my bad eating ways. Hopefully it's just the cold weather!

Winter alternative to salads - nice chunky veg soup made at the weekend? Easy to reheat for lunches. We have a lot of veg to add to protein for a meal too to bulk it up. Love dhal (Dishoom’s black lentil dhal is incredible) and stews.

This is a good plan. I do like soup. If I can make a batch on the weekend this would be great for my lunches. I wouldn't stop myself having a slice of fresh bread and butter with it either 😋

@chesterlestreet I posted earlier in the week about my experience doing this. I missed 2 doses when I was on holiday because I also wanted to enjoy food and not feel tired. I don’t regret not taking it with me but I do regret thinking I could go right back to 7.5. I was ill! I should probably have started lower and built it back up again. So if you do skip a couple of jabs, definitely be careful when you start again.

Heard this happens a lot. If people have a few weeks off of it then try to go straight back on the dose they were on they suffer with the side effects.

Choux · 27/10/2024 08:23

Not sure if this is a scales victory or an NSV but my visceral fat has dropped to 7 🥳

I keep taking appreciative glances at myself as I walk through my hallway as I have a full length mirror in there so can see myself but using Mounjaro is more about my health than how I look. So dropping from 8 to 7 is such a buzz.

I don't much care about my increasingly saggy inner thighs, the growing bingo wings, the deflating boobs. I look great in clothes and I am fully dressed 99% of the time people see me. But I care about my visceral fat and my metabolic age (still two years higher than my real age).

Dear Santa - please let me have at least a year off my metabolic age for Christmas.

Wonkypictureframe · 27/10/2024 08:39

Yay, @Choux! That really is a great feeling, isn’t it?

ObsidianTree · 27/10/2024 08:48

Well done @choc. Good luck with body age@Choux you'll get there!

I was just thinking I need a full length mirror.

I saw family yesterday and they were marvelling at how much weight I had lost. I can avoid awkward questions but look forward to the point where it's just normal for me to look slim so people stop questioning it! My aunt was asking what size clothes I was wearing I was saying the jeans I was wearing was a 12 but said from m&s so roomy. Then I was saying I can actually fit into a size 10 coat at m&s because they are quite roomy and I asked her the size of her coat. It was a 10 from m&s so asked if I could try it on. And it fits and looked quite good! It's nice to be able to do that! Now I want to go to M&S and try on coats again!

OP posts:
ThirdStorm · 27/10/2024 08:59

@ObsidianTree i gave away a gorgeous M&S coat in a size 14 as I thought it would never fit me again, do you think I can ask for it back! Ha! Vinted has been great in helping me find stuff I own in smaller sizes.

@Choux ive dropped from a 9 to 6 in visceral fat. I’ve only been a 6 once before and that was 10 years ago. I’m a few pounds lighter than I was then. It means I’m really where I need to be weight and health wise.

ObsidianTree · 27/10/2024 09:23

@ThirdStorm lol who did you give it to? Suppose you can find out if they even wear it! You could do some subtle not so subtle hints like, I've lost weight so none of my old coats fit me, I'm probably a size 14 now... Probably need to go shopping... If that doesn't work... Don't suppose you have a coat in a size 14 I can borrow do you 😂

The victories just keep coming today. I have unexpectedly dropped two pounds this week which takes me to exactly 3st lost.

Just 5lbs to go until my goal weight of 141lbs which is my goal because that's the first weight I ever recorded in My Fitness Pal in 2011.

Flapearedknave · 27/10/2024 14:31

Nsv for me last night.

Went to a Halloween party and didn't feel self conscious at all. And I was wearing tiny shorts, a corset long sleeved t-shirt. I was a bat! But for the first time in a long time I felt incredible! And didn't hide myself away.

I am definitely off the wagon, similar to others. Had a Chinese for the first time since time starting mj. Couldn't eat much of it, but it was bloody good. And yep, so sick of salads. Problem is the soups I enjoy are broccoli and stilton, and garlic and mushroom with a lot of cream 😂

I've decided to end at another 2 stone at 9.5. Then I'll.start titrating down.

bouper · 27/10/2024 15:00

I don't post much, partly because of my painfully slow losses (I average 1Lb a week since starting at the end of March), but I do follow this thread.
I do feel the need to post today though. Not only did I have to return the size 16 jacket I bought for a 14, when I tried it on my teen son (who is known for being brutally blunt and rarely praising anything) sad 'that actually looks quite good!'
I've still got a long way to go (I'm 5'2" so a generous 14 is still fat!) but plodding along. I've been poorly for the last few weeks, which hasn't led to the best food choices, but determined to get back on track.

NextPrimeMinister · 26/10/2024 19:12

@Thebaldprimadonna

How's it going? I put 2lb on last week so upped to 12.5lb last week as a last ditch effort to get to goal.

Hi twinny! Still stubbornly sitting at 10st 9, but I am happy that I'm staying steady. I am still on 15mg and trying to tweak my diet and exercise to finally shift things 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

spamm · 27/10/2024 17:33

Well done on the losses. I am really impressed by those of you still losing in good numbers. Congratulations @ObsidianTree @Flapearedknave and @Choux. @ThirdStorm - that is amazing, I am still at 9% visceral fat, but it is a significant improvement.

Over here, it's a long slow slog right now, and I am losing in very small amounts. However, it is still moving in the right direction and I finally got below 150lbs. I was 149 lbs on the day after weigh in day, so I hope to still be 149 by this Friday. Down 53 lbs in 10 months, and I am only 4 lbs off a healthy BMI.

I tried my wedding dress on yesterday and it fit. It's weird, because I cannot remember being this weight 25 years ago, but it was only for about 12-18 months. I did put weight back on. And my body has likely changed shape with age, pregnancy and a Caesarian. That tummy flap looks fine in clothes, but urgh!

I had to return some trousers yesterday, because they were too big. It was strange, because I then tried on a smaller size and I am now wearing 4-6 in US sizes. But I cannot "see" myself that way. I still have to catch up in my brain, as I still think of myself as fat.

BlackFriYay · 27/10/2024 20:38

Well done Obsidian, Choc, Choux and others!

I'm also very much 'off the wagon' at the minute. The chocolate has crept back in. I've been having some most days lately, and I'm annoyed with myself about that because that was half the problem to begin with.

I'm not eating a huge excess of calories, I can't, but I'm just not eating the right stuff. Grabbing a chocolate bar instead of a protein shake, that kind of thing. Rinse and repeat.

It seems to be par for the course doesn't it? You get to a certain point and think, meh, I'm slim now so I can afford to eat like crap for a bit.

I can see how people slide back into old habits when they come off weight loss drugs and the weight goes back on.

I was adamant that wasn't going to be me. Tomorrow is a new day.

AgathaMystery · 27/10/2024 21:18

Evening all! Slow and steady loss continues here. I’ve taken 8mg out of a 10mg pen today - my first dose in about 8 days as I had good suppression. Will see how this goes. 8hrs in and I can feel the bruxism creeping back.

That said I’m still eating sensibly, enjoying food but in minute amounts. I knew I needed to inject today as I bought a chocolate bar in the garage when I went thru the car wash. It’s still sat in the car thank god. It was a mindless purchase that I don’t want or need agh I want it so badly.

FlappyFish · 28/10/2024 08:15

Good morning you wonderful lot. I’m all caught up now.

Life without MJ is odd. I completely identify with everything you are all saying. Bored of dieting, off the wagon etc.

I had got so used to not having food noise to have it all back now is… challenging.

I had my first proper period without and dear lord. The cravings. The hormone gain. It was everything it was before MJ. I gained half a stone in a week through water and cravings.

This was what always defeated me trying to lose weight before.

I am now out the other end but it was a bloody good reminder of how messed up weight and periods can be. It is the turmoil it puts me through each time.

I am back to 9.8 after weighing in at 10.1 last week. Crazy fluctuation isn’t it?

On boob jobs… I am going to wait and settle a bit. The earliest I could have it done would be January. I think it’s too soon. In case anyone is wondering it’s 12k for an uplift and small implants. Ouch eh? Makes the MJ look cheap.

1kg exactly off this week and I've slid into the next stone bracket (yes I'm mixing my measurement units). BMI is so close to being under 30.

Moanranger · 28/10/2024 11:28

As I am within shouting distance of goal, I decided to move to Oushk for long-term maintenance. I cannot get a consultation appt until 7 Nov, so I just ordered a 7.5mg pen to get me thru Nov & into Dec. I would hope by then to reach goal, as losing vv slowly now.
My DP is away most of Nov, so I am hoping just to focus on healthy eating & less temptation. DP went out with some old school chums yesterday and they ate Chinese - one of those, broth-fryer table thingies. I cannot now imagine doing this, the quantity of food would defeat me.
The change to Oushk was very easy. I waited til Mon to order & used a discount code, so 7.5 came to just under £150. I have made the mistake of ordering on a Fri in the past, with it being sent out, then sitting in a RM warehouse over the weekend.. They can faff around a bit over the next day or two & hopefully get the order out & delivered before the weekend. I also have loads of needles ATM, so I didn’t need to order those. I think Oushk approach to maintenance will suit me.
@FlappyFish interesting to read your experiences. I really want to keep food noise muffled, and I am not sure I will ever be completely off MJ, but I so like my current state. I think the fatigue is the most annoying, but it seems somewhat reduced, so I’m happy
And thanks again to@ObsidianTree for keeping this going, it has been so valuable to have so much knowledge-sharing and support - I would never have got to where I am now, 36lbs down & counting without it. 🥰

KrankyKumquat · 28/10/2024 12:09

@Moanranger
That's useful info re length of time to get a consultation booking. I'm already with them but about to start last pen so need to get one booked ready for when that's used up. They must have gained a huge number of new customers as appointments were being made for the next day when they first launched the plans.

Moanranger · 28/10/2024 13:39

@KrankyKumquat yes, get on it, they’re booking up fast!

Flapearedknave · 30/10/2024 21:32

Hit the 10 stone bracket!

10 stone 11 🤯

Guess I need to start thinking seriously about maintenance. Better get looking into oushk!
