@chesterlestreet I posted earlier in the week about my experience doing this. I missed 2 doses when I was on holiday because I also wanted to enjoy food and not feel tired. I don’t regret not taking it with me but I do regret thinking I could go right back to 7.5. I was ill! I should probably have started lower and built it back up again. So if you do skip a couple of jabs, definitely be careful when you start again.

ObsidianTree · 26/10/2024 10:52

Morning ☺️

Hit a few milestones this week. Lost 2lbs this week putting me at 11st 6lbs. That makes 6st loss (since Jan) and also past my lowest weight since my 20s which was 11st 7lbs.

The 10s are looking closer and closer! I'm not sure how much I weighed in my late teens so definitely heading into uncharted territory!

My next mini goal is to get into the 10s. So weird!

Also, noticed my bra has been getting a bit loose so tried to a 34G and it fits! Unfortunately my boobs are looking quite deflated tho.

I kind of regret buying a few pairs of jeans recently in a 14. They are starting to feel loose now so wish I went for the 12s. I do have 2 pairs of 12s now tho. I should have just got one pair of 14s instead of getting too excited! Ah well, bought most in the next sale!

I've been taking my 15mg on Fridays. Have to say, I'm not enjoying the side effects and getting a bit over them. Last night I just felt gassy and uncomfortable. Had my coughing/reflux problem again also. I have 1 dose left of my current pen and then 1 more 15mg pen. I am thinking I will titrate down to 12.5mg with my next pen. Would rather not have any side effects. My last dose of my current pen will have to be 15mg as it expires the day before I am due to take it! I'm sure it will be fine for an extra day, but don't want to split that last dose. Oh will definitely chuck the extra bit left in the pen!

Also worried that the 15mg in the new dated pen will be too strong.

@ObsidianTree I too have the curse of the C Section shelf ( X2 and twins!)

I wouldn't call it fat exactly, more a load of skin , but noticeable as the rest of me is skinny.
I live in Conturve now, I feel naked without them! It all looks fine in proper "zip up" jeans with not much stretch, but in jeggings or anything lycrafied as is my preference ,that bloody wee shelf escapes!

The bum is completely flat, it doesnt actually come out any further than my legs, and they are pretty skinny! I feel like I have an old lady shape. At this weight 10 years ago I had a fabulous figure and a bum!

Over waist band fat is gone so that's good, no rolls when sitting!

Weirdly my boobs , whilst reduced ( 42DD to 36C) haven't vanished........they used to totally go when I was slim, but they are hanging in there, which doesn't suit me actually. Getting back into sport, I would prefer the flat boob look.

The only other place I am holding fat ( or it might be skin, not sure) is arm pits. Kind of shoogly bits hanging over the side of my bra or escaping from my Conturve camis!

I have been a bit lax eating wise. Some bad stuff if I am honest. But still at dramatically reduced calories. This has meant no loss in a month. Sitting on 8stone 11lb. This would be plenty slim enough if not for the fore mentioned wobbly bits, hence hoping to lose a tad more. My worry is it will just come from my sorry wee arse or skinny legs!

What is does tell me is that whilst my weight problem was due to over eating.......I really wasn't actually over eating enough to be as fat as I was. I was over eating enought to be a bit plump, not to be a Zeplin! I bloody knew it was my particular annoying type of metabolism . I am plateaued, on restricted calories,( just a bit less restricted than I was) on which most people would see weight melting.

On a plus note, I am very fit despite my routine being a bit slack for the last few weeks.
My metabolic age is 10years below my real age and I had my VO2 max measured and it's better that 90% of folk my age. So that's all good. I was always actually a very fit fatty, so now I am a fit skinny! I intend to get back to hitting up the exercise hard from tomo, as I do actually love being fit. Just took my eye off the ball a bit recently.

Supression just "OK" on 15mg but I think thats due to the whole "warmpengate" fiasco.

Edited

Sorry I missed this!

I think I still have fat left in my pouch, but worried that a lot just might be skin! Thats not going to go away with dieting etc. it's like when you see people on TV shows that have lost hundreds of lbs and look like they have loads of weight still but it's just masses of thick skin that will only go away with surgery. Obv my belly is nothing like that, but do wonder how much will be left once I've lost my last stone.

I'm liking the idea of the conturve. I will look into this!

Yes I get the old lady shape meaning! I also feel pretty weirdly shaped. My arse is gone by I have weird fat pouches on my hips at the back that look bigger than my non-existent arse!

10 years younger metabolic age and being mega fit is impressive! Well done

I am finding the 15mg ok. A few days of annoying side effects but mostly suppressed. It keeps me from eating big portions, but I still feel like eating bad foods. So it's no longer magic. I have accepted that now and will have to just work on my own restraint. Plan to titrate down now.

Wow @ObsidianTree that's amazing! Well done 🎉

I'm still going up and down the same pound or two. Still about 3-4 pound off bmi25. Still eating crap and being rubbish with my exercise. I just feel over it. I'm forgetting to take my jab and forgetting I'm supposed to be trying to lose those last few pounds. Keep stuffing handfuls of jelly beans and m and m in my mouth every time I pass the jars that DP has opened.

I'm seeing an old friend today for lunch so it will be interesting to see what she says as she last saw me when I was size 20 and hadn't seen me this size for over 10 years. Also saw a friend at work who started MJ but hadn't lost much so stopped. She couldn't believe how much I've lost now and is going to re-start MJ when her head is in a better place.

Not bothered about losing much more weight but a lot of my size 12s are feeling baggy 🤯

Smallsalt · 26/10/2024 11:27

@ObsidianTree Amazing losses there! 6stone. I haven't had big effects from 15mg, but the pens were warm. It's doing something, just not what I would have expected. Or maybe my body is just too used to it now .

I like the Conturve very much .. ...I am just too mean to try the dearer stuff.

I tried their big pants first! But I have a very short body. They were nearly under my chin and were rolling down. Might suit a taller person though.

I love the Camis, they cover your bum and they don't ride up. I got the full one as I don't mind squished boobs.
My friend bought the body with the boob bit cut out as she didn't want squished. She likes it.

Haven't tried a body yet myself as the uncut out ones have been out of stock for ages.

I thought I would do "control" wear only on special occasions but I actually wear them every day and even survived summer! You get used to feeling nice and firm😂
I do force myself to remove them to work out in in case I collapse with heat stroke!

Wonkypictureframe · 26/10/2024 11:34

@ObsidianTree brilliant! Good stuff.

ObsidianTree · 26/10/2024 11:35

@PissedOffNeighbour22 it's weird because my head is also not really in it. I had a maccy ds yesterday and a mc flurry. I expected to be up a few lbs this morning so was surprised! Obv I can't actually finish a maccys anymore. Don't really eat more than 3/4 chips and can only manage half a burger.... But I'm not eating right for sure. Just less of everything. But still feel like eating rubbish.

Maybe because you've got to a point your happy with your weight so it's hard to stay focused.

Femeia · 26/10/2024 11:40

Congratulations @ObsidianTree! We are very similar, even down to the current weight, eating habits and body shape.

I'm in a real rut right now. Not losing despite low calorie intake. Instead of eating good stuff I'm tempted by chocolate and crisps. I'm finding that any suppression (I never get much) disappears after about 3 days.

Anyway, I still feel good and people are commenting a lot on my weight loss. I'm just going to power on through this for the final 15lbs, no matter how long it takes.

KrankyKumquat · 26/10/2024 11:54

Well done @ObsidianTree . 6st is amazing, you've done so well so I think you're allowed to let the brakes off occasionally. Size 12 eh? That must feel really good.
Couple of lb off for me this week so now 11st3lb. The 10's are tantalisingly close...But also feeling like I want more treats and unfortunately, my nemesis is alcohol. Yesterday I had a G&T, a glass of wine and a Baileys - the most I've had in 6 months. I MUST STOP THIS.
Back down to earth this morning when I let my OH do a full body nude assessment. No arse, saggy boobs, a few spots of wrinkly, crepe skin - conclusion was 'boxy' 😅 Don't think I'm gonna be suffering from excess vanity!

Wonkypictureframe · 26/10/2024 12:16

Balancing things is clearly going to be challenging for us all. I’m like you, @ObsidianTree, in that I’ve lost my aversion to unhealthy stuff but am being saved by my inability to eat much of it while I’m still injecting. Well, also saved because although I no longer feel ill at the idea of eating fatty food, I don’t actually eat it very often! For me, portion size will be key, as my perfect world would be to eat a balanced diet including occasional ‘bad’ things but just less of it all.

CiderJabs · 26/10/2024 12:27

Congratulations @ObsidianTree - that is amazing.

It is worrying that most of us are feeling demotivated and back to eating crap. It is hard to stay focused.
I also think the colder weather makes it harder - I love hot chocolate especially with baileys! And going for walks is also harder.
We need to look out for each other and try to get everyone on track together. I do not want a "fat after mj " thread!

KrankyKumquat · 26/10/2024 12:39

@Wonkypictureframe
I'm just hoping a low maintenance dose will still be enough to hold off the worst of the bad habits. It was when I started out on 2.5 - I stopped drinking immediately, from day 1, without planning to, but no idea if returning to that dose will work in the same way now. Weirdly, I find the food aspect easier as I still have next to no proper appetite the whole week and I've no desire, most of the time, for carbs or sugary food or treats.
@CiderJabs You're right, I too think the colder weather, darker nights has an impact. When I was a kid, we only ate sweets on a Friday evening - it was pocket money day and we'd go to the local shop and spend pennies. I'm thinking of replicating this - a proper, but very limited treat time, then back to full-on focus. Need to find a good alternative to salads too - I'm well over them now after eating every day for 6 months.

Wonkypictureframe · 26/10/2024 12:44

Winter alternative to salads - nice chunky veg soup made at the weekend? Easy to reheat for lunches. We have a lot of veg to add to protein for a meal too to bulk it up. Love dhal (Dishoom’s black lentil dhal is incredible) and stews.

Wonkypictureframe · 26/10/2024 12:46

Most dieticians will say that sustainable good eating works on an 80/20 basis, so 20% of what you eat might be a bit unhealthy but that’s fine. That’s one reason why strict dieting is so difficult, because we feel so bound to be 100% healthy, and deprived of any of those small pleasures.

Yes I do like making soups. Current favourites are spicy bean and a chilli butternut squash. Don't think I've ever tried dhal, will check it out.

Wonkypictureframe · 26/10/2024 12:53

Dhal is very proteiny too, which makes it a superfood to me.

Choux · 26/10/2024 12:55

@KrankyKumquat a full body nude assessment? That's brave, very brave.

I also used to have 'sweetie night' every Friday as a child when my dad would bring home a chocolate bar of my choice. Raisin and biscuit yorkie was a favourite.

My alternative to salads is stir fries - whatever I have of onion, peppers, carrot, green beans, spinach, courgettes, mushrooms, celery, broccoli etc with some protein. A splash of soy and chilli sauce if not really planned it is fine. But also love adding garlic, ginger or a bit of pastes like gochuang (spelling!) or zhoug really lift it too. Eat with or without noodles, rice etc.

Choux · 26/10/2024 12:59

This dhal soup is a regular purchase of mine. It's quick and tasty and seems to gently relieve any digestive blockage I may have from the Mounjaro.

KeepingUndercover · 26/10/2024 13:10

One thing I've seen popping up a lot on my socials is the idea of adding to food, rather than take it away. So you really fancy some chocolate, ok, that's fine. Have some chocolate but ADD something to it that will make it more nutritious. You have a bit of the chocolate and maybe you melt it down and have fruit dipped in it. Or grate it over a protein yogurt. If you fancy crisps, have the crisps but with a bean dip/hummus/whatever.

The idea being that rather than just mindlessly eating all the chocolate and all the crisps, you turn it into a smaller part of a healthier snack that will fill you up and give you good stuff too. I quite like it as a premise.

chesterlestreet · 26/10/2024 14:35

@Moanranger @Ghilliedu thanks for sharing your experience and advice. I think I will slightly reduce and take a 10mg rather than 12.5 before I leave and then play around with jab day and dosage depending on our schedule (have gone 10 days in the past without any issue).

NextPrimeMinister · 26/10/2024 19:12

@Thebaldprimadonna

How's it going? I put 2lb on last week so upped to 12.5lb last week as a last ditch effort to get to goal.

I'll need to look into some. I used to wear some when big but they were always uncomfortable. Maybe they will be more comfortable now that I'm thinner.

I'm not sure what it is with me. I just can't be bothered to make healthy things. So I end up just grazing. I do make healthy dinners, it the breakfast and lunch I just CBA with and end up picking at rubbish. I need to work on getting better prepared.

Yes keep powering though. Hopefully it will come off eventually

Ah you've completely over taken me weight wise 😊 but I've not been trying hard so I don't deserve to be losing fast 😂

Yes size 12! Feels weird. I think it's mostly because I've lost my arse so it's easier to fit into jeans!

You're nearly in the 10s! Not long now!

Yes I agree. I definitely could easier go without naughty foods in the beginning, but now they have crept back in. And agree, saved by the fact I can't eat much of the bad stuff! It was great in the beginning tho when I wasn't hungry and wasn't craving bad foods. Now the lack of craving bad foods seems to have gone forever. I suppose I can use this to work on will power!
