I've had 2 c-sections and still have overhang, quite a fat belly and chubby around ribs above navel - I have a 2nd belly. I have another 7lb ish to lose I guess, I don't have a target weight, but I want all the weight to come from my 2 bellys now! Looks flat enough dressed but naked I'm a mess. If I could afford it I'd have surgery to tidy it all up, but that seems unlikely.

KeepingUndercover · 19/10/2024 19:23

I'm quite happy to never have a flat belly, it's an incredibly difficult thing to achieve. I'd be quite happy as a 12/14 really, I like a slightly fuller figure. Mind you I've never been a size 8 or 10, can't imagine what I'd look like.

Moanranger · 19/10/2024 19:44

I get a couple of MJ pages on my FB newsfeed, so much continual reading of initial side effects, familiar to us all.
But I thought it would be useful to ask this group what side effects have persisted for you?
I am 7 months in, and my two consistent side effects are constipation, 1-2 days a week, and fatigue, again, not every day. I can live with these. When I was on Saxenda I got severe anxiety & depression, so bad I had to stop.
How has it been for the rest of us?

AgathaMystery · 19/10/2024 19:47

@Moanranger similar. I am terribly constipated but I don’t drink enough so I am probs 50% of the problem.

NextPrimeMinister · 19/10/2024 19:56

Snap. Constipation for me too, but that's the only negative side effect.

Positive side effects are my exema/prisoris patches have completely gone.

KrankyKumquat · 19/10/2024 20:12

Mine would be sleep disturbance, lethargy and dizziness. None have been game changers cause I work from home. Hoping they'll subside as I lower dose. I've never had GI issues of any note even when I've increased dose. One episode of constipation but started taking magnesium once or twice a week which seems to have kept it at bay.
I'm not sure that it could be called a side effect but my appetite suppression has been pretty unrelenting, and it's a daily effort to eat. I can certainly see how dangerous WLM would be to those with EDs.

@Flapearedknave ive started on collagen too. I’m only 10 days in so too early to tell. My doctor recommended it after I said my hair loss was bothering me. She felt it was like peri menopause.

I'd really recommend biotin for hair loss. I've been taking collagen for ages but the biotin has really helped. It's been about a month now and I've noticed I have tonnes more hair (downstairs Blush) but assuming it will also be on my head just not as obvious yet.

NCfor24 · 19/10/2024 21:50

My only ongoing side effect is constipation. I basically get impacted most weeks. However I do have nerve damage that means my bottom is numb so I don't feel the urge to go and it's incredibly difficult to pass whatever is there. I should see the GP about it but I don't want to be told to stop Mounjaro. I'm so close to a healthy weight I want to get there.

BlackFriYay · 19/10/2024 22:05

Another one with constipation here.

That aside, head rushes whenever I stand up 😵‍💫

As unpleasant as those things are, I'm not that bothered by them. It's definitely worth it for me.

NCfor24 · 19/10/2024 22:45

Oh yes the head rushes! Not all the time but pretty frequent.

AgathaMystery · 19/10/2024 22:58

Mmmm yes. This morning I had a very close fainting episode when I got out of bed. It’s like postural hypotension? Never had it before MJ. It was awful this morning I blacked out for a few seconds.

ObsidianTree · 20/10/2024 08:23

Hi all, thanks for the replies about tummies.

All I can hope is losing the last st ISH that I want to lose will be off my belly! If not, might need to think about lipo from my belly to get rid of the stubborn bits! Or I might just have to accept it!

Side effects wise, I am on my 2nd pen of 15mg and thought I was over most side effects. But unfortunately not! I do this weird thing where I cough really hard and almost choke. I don't know why but I seem to need to cough. Well yesterday I did that and it was too much and I puked! I hadn't puked for months so was surprised!

I also need to burp a lot!

Oh and I'm still freezing!

OP posts:
Choux · 20/10/2024 08:53

That doesn't sound pleasant @ObsidianTree! Hopefully that is a one off.

I have gone back to 15mg and so far coping better with it ie it's no longer suppressing my appetite so much I can't eat enough to have energy.

I do burp more than normal but they aren't sulfur-y. I do feel cold but it feels like normal levels of cold rather than having the ice cold hands and feet I had in summer on 7.5mg.

@ObsidianTree if you are on your second 15mg pen what did you do about the bonus dose in the first pen? Did you take all of it in one dose or just 15mg? Mine is over 2 weeks away but right now am thinking about just taking it all in one go. But then my head says but that's probably 20mg which sounds like a massive dose.

KrankyKumquat · 20/10/2024 09:01

@ObsidianTree
I forgot the feeling cold side effect! Although I feel like I'm adapting to that one quite well, by being permanently layered up rather than fighting it or cranking the heating up.
That cough/retch thing is a strange one, sounds unpleasant. I do have quite a strong reaction to facing foods I don't fancy like, weirdly, potatoes which I've had since the beginning. I wonder if it's an extension of that?

ObsidianTree · 20/10/2024 09:38

@choux I wasn't going to take the bonus dose from my last pen as it was from a warm pen and I felt it wasn't really effective. So I did first shot of my next pen then a week later thought I shouldn't really waste the dose so I extracted 60ml from the pen and took that. There was a bit left but I chucked it.

On my 2nd 15mg pen I'm feeling like it's more effective so I wouldn't take the full 20mg from the bonus dose. Would probably do the same and take just the 60ml worth. I could technically keep the 5mg for another time, but I wouldn't know when I would use it. Plus it would be way after the 30 days so doesn't seem safe to do.

@KrankyKumquat yeah I don't get the weird random coughing! Usually doesn't end in my puking so hoping it won't happen again!

This cough sounds like acid reflux. Look up GERD cough and see if the symptoms match? I struggled with this in my IBS days pre-Mounjaro and know the awfulness all too well.

Actually it sounds like this. It's usually worse when I am feeling pretty full. I find doing big burps helps. Its also worse a few days after my jab.

I swear by my fibre tablets in avoiding constipation (plus drinking 2 litres of water a day which has always helped me avoid migraines so I have to keep this up!). Except solgar seem to be having supply issues with their psyllium husk. So I need to find a new product!

ThirdStorm · 20/10/2024 09:47

Thanks @Scalessayeek I’m taking biotin too. I’ve been on it since May and I have got lots of new hair growth around my hair line so that’s positive. It hasn’t stopped the loss though so hoping collagen will help.

Thinking about it, it's got to be related to the 15mg as it's not something I've had since the start. It's a recent side effect along with the needing to burp. Maybe the 15mg is too strong for me. Maybe the slowing digesting is causing it. I will see if it settles down by the end of my 2nd pen. Then might have to drop down to 12.5mg for next pen. It doesn't bother me too much. But the reflux reason does make sense.

OP posts:
NextPrimeMinister · 20/10/2024 09:53

I've used extra clicks to move to 12.5 this week. 10gm just not effective last week and have put on 2lbs. The horror.

Now 6lb away from goal. Not 4lb.

I do worry how I'll maintain post mj. Feck.

😱 I just went into Amazon to see if I could find the solgar brand and I can't find them. I went into my previous orders and the link to them isn't working! Really hope they aren't out of stock permanently!

ObsidianTree · 20/10/2024 09:56

I found them online. So it's just Amazon having issues! Phew!

OP posts:
ThirdStorm · 20/10/2024 09:59

@ObsidianTree ive switched “horbaach” as they are 1400mg each rather than solgar 500mg each. It’ll work out cheaper as I’ll take just 1 and hopefully more effective at a slightly higher dose.
