Hello all - I'm still here, albeit being quiet. Still plodding along losing very slowly (but still losing!).

SW: 12.12.0
CW: 9.2.8
GW: 8.7 (ish, I think. Not entirely decided).

I'm still staying with Mum at the moment, but will be going home a few days after Dad's funeral next week. Very much looking forward to being more in control of my food, and making my own decisions. And just being in my own home too.

It's been a long 6 weeks - Mum is actually doing amazingly well, but I do want to be with her while the worst of the paperwork is being sorted, and while she begins to settle into the new reality of Dad not being here.
I was hoping that my sister might stay for a bit, but apparently not, she's off travelling again after the funeral.

I have emailed Med Express to see if I can go longer than 6 weeks between orders. I would rather not have to have it delivered here, so would prefer to wait another week. They haven't come back to me yet, so fingers crossed. It will only just be over 6 weeks, if they say it has to be under that time then I'll have to have it here, and lie about what it is.

Currently still on 7.5 mg, and it's been working reasonably well in terms of suppression. Not having total control over food has meant that I'm not losing as much as I could, but still around a pound a week. Might go up to 10mg when I'm home just for the last few pounds till I reach my goal.

Congrats to all on their NSVs, losses, and new clothes sizes, and commiserations to those currently stalling. It will end!!

x

Glad you're getting on ok @pinktransit. It's great that you've been able to be there for your mum. Hopefully she does ok on her own once you go home.

2lb loss for me today. I tried to not weight this week but still only managed about 3 days without weighing! Getting there! Lol.

So currently sitting at 11st 8lbs. 1 lb to go to get to my lowest weight from my 20s when I did a meal replacement shake diet.

Weird though, as I am definitely holding more weight now on my stomach than I did back then. (2 babies /csects etc!) I think my arms, legs and arse have lost more weight than when I lost weight back in my 20s. My stomach continues to be pretty big. It's going down but it's still quite flabby and still have a lot of flab over my rib cage. So even tho my BMI is below 25, I don't feel like I look healthy weight yet. I've also been doing things like walking out my house and doing a twirl to get my door bell camera to film me so I can examine if I look slim... I do not! Lol

I guess as I want to aim for a BMI 23 ish, there is still time for more tummy weight to go.

For those that had csects, how are the bellies coming along? Anyone feel their belly fat has mostly gone? I'm not expecting a flat tummy and think I will definitely have some form of deflated shelf when I lose some more weight, but would be good to know if it will at least look flat ISH in clothes!

My c section still has a little overhang, and my weight is still on my tummy and bingo wings at 9.11stone.

However once I put clothes on, it looks much flatter. My hope is, the 4lb I have left to lose, comes from those two areas rather than my twig legs or pancake bum!

BlackFriYay · 19/10/2024 09:36

The fat has mostly gone for me but my stomach still looks like a train wreck as I have diastasis recti, loose skin and the famous c section apron 🙄

Fortunately you can't tell through clothes. High waisted underwear and high waisted jeans are my friend. From the side when dressed my stomach looks acceptably flat.

BlackFriYay · 19/10/2024 09:37

Lol at the pancake bum. Very relatable!

Flat, oh so flat.

Wonkypictureframe · 19/10/2024 09:42

Mine doesn’t look flat but it looks entirely normal, which is what I’m happy with. I don’t look pregnant. Most women have a slightly curved belly naturally ans although I won’t be wearing a bikini any time soon I look fine with clothes on!

KeepingUndercover · 19/10/2024 10:16

I think we all need to get squatting to perk those pancake bums up!

Well done everyone on progress, it's very heartening to see. I had a small gain last week after missing an injection but it's already come off and I'm tantalisingly close to getting my BMI under 30.

For those of you who have been taking collagen, do you feel like it's making a difference to your skin? Helping it ping back and not end up with tons of loose skin as the body shrinks?

AgathaMystery · 19/10/2024 10:26

I have a flat bum too!!

Wonkypictureframe · 19/10/2024 10:38

My bum is also flat despite some squats. Clearly way more are needed though! I also have a really prominent coccyx now and it feels a bit uncomfortable in the bath. Ditto my spine.

FlappyFish · 19/10/2024 11:09

I have the bath uncomfortable too.

Checking in quickly!

Wonkypictureframe · 19/10/2024 11:24

Major victory this morning too as Renpho declares my metabolic age to be younger than I am!

Flapearedknave · 19/10/2024 11:41

Today is a big day here, after moving house and realising I have FAR FAR FAR too many clothes, I am doing a fashion show for my daughter and my brother (they are besties) and they get to choose what I keep and what gets vinted!

Wish me luck 😆

I've now reached my third goal 11 and a half stone, I have the issue that it doesn't seem to want to come off my stomach. Rather than a flat ass, my boobs are lower than they were!

I have started taking a collagen powder. It's been a week and can't tell anything as yet. Says it takes a month or so!

ThirdStorm · 19/10/2024 12:00

Flat bum here too! I call it “Mounjaro bum” so many of us seem to have it. Thankfully no “ozempic face”!

ThirdStorm · 19/10/2024 12:02

@Flapearedknave ive started on collagen too. I’m only 10 days in so too early to tell. My doctor recommended it after I said my hair loss was bothering me. She felt it was like peri menopause.

Congratulations! I am 3 years younger than my Renpho age and fixing that is now one of my goals.

I've had hair loss too. And basically balding at the sides too.

Started up my protein shakes, vitamins and biotin again. Going to do a rosemary oil treatment every week. I'd become really lax lately

ObsidianTree · 19/10/2024 13:05

Yep I'm in the flat pancake butt crew.

I was been taking collagen, biotin etc. I got lax with it recently and my hair started falling out. So going back on them properly just incase.

I was taking collagen and biotin since the start until recently, the only thing I could say might have been useful, is that I haven't really had loose skin yet. Lost nearly 6st and nothing is looking terrible saggy yet. Not sure it was the collagen etc, but incase it was, I'll be taking it religiously again!

Oh apart from my neck

OP posts:
KeepingUndercover · 19/10/2024 13:06

What collagen do you take @ObsidianTree?

ObsidianTree · 19/10/2024 13:12

@KeepingUndercover the my protein stuff. The clear ones

OP posts:
ThirdStorm · 19/10/2024 13:17

@ObsidianTree great news about not having loose skin. I’ve lost nearly 5 stone now and I must admit I’ve not really got any except slight bingo wings but exercise may help with that.

@Flapearedknave sorry to hear about the balding, it’s scary isn’t it. Hopefully what we’re doing will help. I’ve been on biotin since May and my nails are great and I’m getting lots of new hair growth.

ThirdStorm · 19/10/2024 13:22

@KeepingUndercover I’m using the Ancient and brave variety of “true” collagen, bovine and I put 5g in my coffee each day. I can’t taste it.

Moanranger · 19/10/2024 14:41

@ObsidianTree I have had 2 C-sections, but had a tummy reduction- basically liposuction about 10yrs later. What it means is I carry more flab above my naval than below, which looks odd. I was fortunate in that the c-section surgeons used an internal stitching technique so I have no scar at all, which is amazing as I had 2. I highly recommend a reduction, take surgeons advice on method. I had a awful lot of fat & skin rolls, & now I don’t.
Today I told someone in my life (think acquaintance, not friend) who I suspect is using jabs that she was looking very trim, just a tossed-off comment. She smiled & said nothing. I would not ever comment further on someone’s WL.

Ghilliedu · 19/10/2024 15:57

Hi all, I haven’t posted in so long as had some family stuff then we had our big holiday, which we ended up extending to 3 weeks because we were frazzled. I also felt every time I posted it was always just moaning about something. However! Before we went on holiday I had some positives -

  • 7.5 finally kicked in (on 3rd dose) and the suppression was great. Just like the early days and the weight started to fall off again
  • I am now no longer obese, merely overweight!
  • I passed the 50% mark. So still a way to go but over half way
  • I felt so much better in my holiday clothes and even got into some of my old stuff

I didn’t take my pen on holiday with me but jabbed the day we left and had good suppression for the first 10 days. Pretty sure I’ve done some damage on the second half of the hol but I enjoyed it! Won’t weigh til Monday to give myself a couple of days.

currently trying not to go to sleep (jet lag) so going to go back and catch up on the thread properly to keep myself awake and will also take my jab and hope I can just pick up where I left off.

sorry this is long!
